GT80 Touchpad synaptics num button not working

Hello, I made no changes to the synaptics adjustments, everything at default values, now num button for enabling number pad at gt80 not working any more. other functions (touchpad) are working. even reinstall of synaptics driver not working. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I recently obtained this laptop and by design installed windows 7 x64.
after a number of years working in call centres, I'm used to working blind and talking to people who have only recently been inducted into the realm of technology
(I admit sometimes it is like trying to give someone instructions in another language to help them fix their car engines via the muffler while using a braille workshop manual)
As a matter of course, I encountered the same problem you guys did.
Robert_Tirak thanks for your post, you gave me enough information to get started on finding a solution to this, however, I've taken the tact of writing this as if it's for someone who happened to get their hands on one of these amazing machines but isn't in any way whatsoever computer literate, as that caters for every/anyone.

a little more detail:
*right click on the synaptic touch pad icon in bottom right near time
*pointing device properties
*device settings tab up top
*click device settings button near middle on the right hand side
*on the new screen there's a menu on the left, in that menu
*open 'Tapping'
*then click tap zones and enable it
*then you can change the zones if you like, however, what I've done is disabled top right, bottom left and *right and just enabled top left (the region that covers the num lock lit up section)
my only problem now is, the literal command/app/function to go between numlock with keys vs mouse is missing from the list of available options.. pretty sure it'll just end up being some kind of executable or command line to initiate something in the driver,
I'd be most grateful for any further assistance from anyone who has actually got this working.

Keyboard, touchpad and assist button not working

Hello, I have a touchscreen VAIO laptop on which the keyboard, touchpad and assist button are not working. The touckscreen keyboard works, and if a plug in a bluetooth USB mouse it works too. Te problem as I said before is with the touchpad and physical keyboard, which don't work even in the BIOS inicialization. I tried the assist button but it doesn't work neither. Instead of accessing VAIO Care, it turns the computer on. I also tried to restore the system and update drives, but with no success. The problem started with some bubbles on the screen that freezed the computer. I restarted it and only the keyboard was working (the light under it was on) but the display was off. Then I restarted it again, and again and now only the dispaly is on (I can access Windows 8 via touchscreen), and the rest of it is off (not working, leds off, etc).

I am sorry to hear your issues but it seems that you are experience a combination of hardware and software issues. First, the Assist button should work when you press it. Try to press Assist button again while the unit is off (just in case you were trying to use it while the unit is off).
Power cycle the unit - Remove the battery and all peripherals -> press and hold the power button for 5 seconds OR, if the battery is not removable, remove all peripherals-> look for a battery off button on the bottom of the laptop -> push the button for 5 seconds.
Test again the unit. If this won't push through then we highly suggest to visit Sony's Authorized Service Center in your area.

My Laptop TOUCHPAD [Synaptics] multi touch not working on startup

My Laptop is HP Pavilion DV6 - 7040TX
It is working nicely, I noticed one thing. That the multi touch functionality in the touchpad is not working on Windows start up. (Multi touch - Two finger pinch, there finger ....) ie. Only single touch is working, I can drag the cursor, select and click. When I open the Synaptics settings from the Cpanel, the other features are working fine, doesn't make a difference when I closed that settings tab.
This is my issue, some of my friends bought this very same Laptop and they don't seem to have this problem at all. Please help me out of this.

i had the same problem. what solved this for me was to simply go to device manager and under mice and other pointing devices uninstall the touchpad, i had a usb mouse handy just in case i needed it, but then i restarted the laptop and it auto reinstalled touchpad for me and then all options worked on startup.

Y50 touchpad let/right buttons not working correctly.

When I try to do a left or a right click my touchpad will only register it half the time. Sometimes have to click around 5-10 times before it will work. I can usually get the left click to work after only a couple of clicks, but the right click hardley ever works. I feel like the whole thing needs to be replaced and I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and got it replaced?? I bought it 4 months ago and its been not working pretty much out of the box. Honestly, although I love this comp, I completly regret buying it and wish I would have went with the toshiba I was looking at.

As per the query we understood that you facing issue with touchpad in your Lenovo Y50 laptop.
Try to update the driver to the latest version and check for the issue, after the driver update if still the issue perstists then it might be issue with the touchpad as you have mentioned that its been only 4 months hence you can contact the Lenovo support and get it replaced, or you can also contact the nearest service center.

G505s - Touchpad hot key function not working with lenovo driver

I'm using windows 8.1, Lenovo G505s laptop. Recently I got replacement from Lenovo regarding touchpad after that this Fn(F7) touchpad enable/disable not working. This is happening only when I installied touchpad driver provided by lenovo and works well with standard microsoft driver (Ofcourse, no multigesture support with that driver).
We perfomed following operations:
1. HotKey mode enable/disable in BIOS
2.Reinstallation of OS
3. Reinstallation of driver(manually)
All cases with microsoft driver this function working but with touchpad driver it is not working. It's almost 90days (88thday) daily contacting both Lenovo customer support and service center people but no use.
If anybody having this problem and have a solution please share! (My machine under warranty!)

It's likely that you have a Synaptics driver (you can verify this by its hardware ID or use a utility software like AIDA 64 Extreme Edition).

If you're unable to install the driver below, can you follow this guide on how to disable driver signature enforcement then try to reinstall the driver again and observe if you can now toggle the Fn+F6.

My laptop touchpad left mouse key not working

I have a Elitebook 8440p with windows 7 professional.The touchpad left mouse key not working ,but right mouse key works well.my driver is synaptics 14.0.10 090ct09 and the touchpad name is synapticsTouchPadV7.2.

logitech mouse buttons not working in photoshop cc 2014 winds 8.1. Is this a common problem?
I have updated the latest drivers and have a few buttons programmed with keyboard shortcuts that used to work in previous versions of Photoshop but don't work now.
Scrolling with mouse in bridge stopped working in cc butI see it is now working.
any ideas?

Many Photoshop extensions are not compatible with Photoshop CC 2014 for Adobe removed support for Flash Panels in CC 2014. Many extensions panels are flash based. Check with the developer to see if their blendmein extension works with CC 2014.
Adobe does not maintain Photoshop so it backward compatible with prior versions of Photoshop. This brakes things like action scripts plugins extensions etc. Keep old version of Photoshop installed....

i have the same problem. since you're software is already iOS 5.1 go to settings>general> accessibility>the settings after triple click home, i forgot what is it called but that would help.

Apple answer is - no answer. It is a shame that the quality of their products, in terms of design and concept, is not match by a care for customers. It is not normal that I, as a customer, have to spend hours reading Apple Discussions forum to try to understand what the problem is. A little more respect for a customer that spend big $$$ buying their products wouldn't hurt.

Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.

I bought an iPhone 4 less than a year ago, then one day the home button randomly stopped working, I bought the warranty so I decided to call in and see what was wrong with it. The girl said that restoring the phone would correct the problem which it did. But it is only a temporary fix, it happens more often now. So I was meaning to call in soon, but the other day my phone fell out of my pocket IN CASE from a foot height and cracked the screen. I nearly threw up. All the years I have had a phone I have never cracked or broken one, strongest screen my ***. Anyway, if I contact them again now will they fix the home button problem? or will they say that the cracked screen is obviously the cause of the home button not working? which it is not!! I don't care about the screen being cracked its not on the actual screen just on the side so its irrelevant to me. Plus I heard it is outrageosly pricey to replace.

Iphone 4 volume buttons not working

iphone 4 volume and mute buttons not working, checked all settings they are all fine and when headphones in it works??? When I take out headphones the volum buttons do not work, when phone rings or text receives only vibrates???? HELP!!!!

This could be due to some debris or dirt inside the headphones jack that makes the iPhone think that the headphones are connected even when they are not.
Try to see if you can clean the jack being very careful, with canned air as sold in electronics store. Some people have been successful by introducing and withdrawing the headphones jack several times in a row to displace whatever is in there if it is lodged in.
Avoid introducing anything else like a pointed object. You could damage the jack.
If all of this does not work, I would try first resetting the phone by holding the home button and the power button together for about 15 seconds or until the whilte apple appears, then waiting until the phone resets. If the problem continues after this, take it to an Apple Store to see what they believe should be done.
