GTX 260+ N260GTX-T2D896-OCv2 fps issue in final fantasy xi

After spending two days scouring the net, I have not been able to come up with any kind of solution to my problem. Once upon a time, a set of beta drivers were released to fix the FPS slowdown issue on nVidia based cards, but said drivers do not function on this card. Are there any specially tuned drivers that will solve the fps slowdown?
I'm using windows 7 at the moment, but vista 64 is my normal OS. If there's any information needed that I'm leaving out, please let me know.

You should look for a patch on the game's support website. If you don't have problems with any other games, its an issue with that game, not the card.

Are there any difference between fx. the Nvidia FX3800 and GTX 260?

Does anybody understand why I fell frustrated and confused about all this videocard discussions?
Some tells me that the FX3800 is a better card - more pro - stabillity etc. than low-price cards - like GTX 260/285/295 - and some tells me that GTX 260 = FX3800. I read on other webpages about how people are having problems having their GTX 260 recognized as a FX 3800 (not in PPro but by Nvidia software). Other places tells about how to softmod GTX 260 to a FX 3800. Some tells me that there is a big difference between these cards - others they are almost alike - same GPU etc. I read that the difference between GTX 260 and FX 3800 is only the looks of it from outside - inside they are alike - and that apart from that only drivers are different.
I have ordered the FX 3800 - believing it will perform better and more stable and give me really good playback rendering inside PPro CS5 compared to my GTX 260. If I get the same performance and stability by just changing two lines in a textfile with my old GTX 260 I feel cheated...I hope this is not happening.
Someone from Adobe or Nvidida - please tell us - what there is a differnece between fx. the GTX 260 and the FX 3800 besides from the outside look and some drivers? If there is no difference between them - I can not see any other reason for only supporting the FX cards than $$$...If there are a difference in Quadra/FX favour - and I sincerly hope so - I understand why you choose Quadro cards - but if they are just alike inside - I just feel we have all been mislead. I could have saved my money...time will show - I get the FX 3800 in a few days...can´t return it (danish rules when you buy it as a company) - so I´m 1000$ short this month...:(
I would feel much more comfortable in having ordered the FX 3800 if someone from Adobe could tell me excactly how much better FX 3800 is from the GTX 260 - apart from being supported and the GTX is not. And if there is more in it than just changing a simple textfile? Are there any more things going on inside PPro - deep inside - that affects performance with FX cards besides from two lines in a textfile? Who can help answering that question - and I mean really answering it in serious way - not just saying - off course the FX is better - because its more expenssive.
Haven´t we all experienced this in other situations? Like buying a car? Fx. Inside SKODA FABIA is a VW engine like the ones used in much more expensive VW cars. Only difference is the name and the outside look - and some comfort. The engine is the same - and in a way you could say that from an engine-point-of-view - the cars are alike. But you pay for comfort.
Is the same thing going on here? I pay more for FX 3800 for the looks of it from the outside and some software-drivers that makes it more stable - but inside it is just like GTX 260? So from a graphic-performance-GPU-point-of-view I actually have two cards that are alike and I reaaly am paying for software and not hardware?

No seriously - I know what I have done - and maybe I have done right - I don´t know? Time will show and I will sell or buy.
What I am frustrated about is the fact that I actually just decided to buy FX 3800 because Adobe and Nvidida toold me too - to get support for MPE and now it seems that my old GTX 260 is much like the FX 3800 if not the same inside? And I am frustrated about that it is possible to change a line in a simple textfile and suddenly get support for the GTX 260 to play MPE. This fact only put more lit on the conspiracy-fire about Adobe and Nvidia having made a simple software-trick to make some cards work others not = making a lot of money on fools like me...
You must admitt it is a rather tempting conclusion - if one is in the conspiracy-mood. Well - I try to think good about people. And Adobe convinced me at last that I needed the FX 3800 card. So I did order it eventually - because I need the MPE NOW - Can´t wait - having so bad performance and issues with PPro 4 - been so frustrated about edditting for almost ½ a year now - constantly having issues etc. And I am going to start new big project in 7 days. Have just spend 2000$ on upgrade to Master Collection and have making thoughts about wich card to buy long time ago - the GTX 285 or FX 3800 - to get the MPE support. And same day I order I suddenly see that the softmod makes my old GTX 260 to a FX 3800. And other posts claim that the cards are the same inside. No wonder I get frustrated - others must be the same.
So what I am trying to say is that: I feel like Adobe and Nvidida is not being honest with us. If it turns out that the only thing Adobe has done is making a simple textfile to make cards supported or not by enteringior changing the names of the cards inside the textfile - and nothing else....And if fx. a softmoded GTX 260 turns out to perform excactly the same and be as stable as a FX 3800 to 5-6 x the price - I will feel cheated and feel like a stupid fool.
I certainly do not hope this is what is going on. But it seems no one can help me but myself - testing and trying these cards - and I will try to post my results in this forum - so others might have easier tomake a choice...

MSI P45 Neo-F, GeForce GTX 260 graphic card upgrade (Install resolved)

We recently built up starting from an MSI P45-F motherboard and running an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor on XP (we did not choose XP-64 waiting on Windows 7).
We are attempting to upgrade the graphic card to the PCI express with a GeForce GTX 260 and are encountering a driver download error from Nvidia.
Problem/Issue: While driver software is downloading, mid-way the screen goes black/blank and a single underscore cursor appears (remains indefinitely).
We believed it could be a power supply issue as we are running an OCZ tech 600W stealth stream (we are certain there is sufficient amp), but clearly we must disable or uninstall the on-board graphic card (which may be causing a drain?). We are looking under the Device Manager and unable to identify which is the actual on-board graphics in order to disable.
I have attempted to contact MSI directly; however there is a communication problem on my part since I have no idea what I'm doing ($40 bucks to have the card professionally installed is looking like a bargain right now, but think of the fun I will have with the Crysis expansion set on ULTRA).
One side bar question, not important: I'm running 4 GHz RAM, but only 3.205 is appearing? what is the missing RAM being allocated to at idle (is that to the graphics?)?
Any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings,
Well - initially the lock up would occur when we started running the Nvidia driver download software. After booting and performing a system restore (the normal OS load locked up, so we had no choice but to back date). We then downloaded the driver from Nvidia on to a disk from another computer and started up the upgrading computer in safemode and inserted the disk, same error occurred - halfway through the install download the screen goes blank and stays with under score cursor 20+mins.
We called Nvida and they claimed there may be may be driver conflict, so we removed all the drivers (with a driver sweep software-we wiped out allllll of the drivers, no problem) and loaded all drivers fresh and brand new.
Still same error occurred; We attempted to load the nvidia driver from the website -
Carefully confirming that
1.) we have sufficient amps (we calculated 46amps) to cover our build up.
*EDIT: IT WAS ACTUALLY 18amps (ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CALCULATIONS)
2.) we also confirmed the motherboard has the correct slot and we correctly connected the correct (2) power cords.
EDIT: THERE IS NO PRIORITY TO CONNECTION, SO JUST BE AWARE THERE ARE TWO PLUGS AND BOTH FIRMLY INSERTED.
We've called Nvidia and on the 5th time , we were specifically told that it did not appear that the motherboard and graphic driver are compatible.[/flash] How could that be ??? did they give up???
EDIT: THEY WERE INCORRECT, THEY DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY.
gfffffff* We are just about giving up and preparing to package up the new card and taking the restock charge...

PT890 Neo + Nvidia GTX 260

Someone knows if a GTX 260 svga (Sparkle Calibre) has incompatible issue with an MSI PT890 Neo mobo?
I got both, and now many games get stuck or crash. Previously, with a 9400GT no problem at all.
I also have a Corsair TX-650W (for gamers) installed.
Problems come out both with XP-SP3 and W7.
For example:

Mercury playback is always greyed out in Quadro FX 4800 + GTX 260

As the title mentioned above, I have two cards installed on Win 7 64-bits. The Quadro FX 4800 is for main video card, and the GTX 260 is for the Physx only. I tried to manully assign the Physx to FX 4800 but it didn't work. Could you guys please advise me what should I do? Thanks in advance.

If you have the Nvidia 258.xx or higher Nvidia drivers, then there is a CUDA GPU listing under manage 3D settings. There is a global selection and individual application setting for that. The default setting for that is all GPU's. Select that under the Global and uncheck the 260 GPU. That should fix the problem.

Will a 600W psu be enough for a gtx 260 and an amd quad-core 9950?

I plan to upgrade my 2 year old 8600GT gpus in sli with an MSI GTX 260. Currently, I'm using a 600W power supply from Rosewill with a combined rating of 40A on its 12v 2 X 12v rails. I read that the power requirements of a GTX 260 is a minimum of 500W based upon an Intel Core 2 setup; I was hoping to pair my gpu with a 9950 Black Edition. From my psu specs the maximum output is 585W; I'm currently using an amd 5000+ with 65W. I plan to overclock mainly the cpu and leave the settings on the gpu as is. I counted the difference of 75W if I replaced my cpu with the quad-core; if I added the differece with the minimum requirements of the gpu it totalled 575W? Is this cutting it too close; I really don't want to purchase another psu since it's only 5 months old? What are your recommendations? On the side note I plan to add a second hard-drive. Zipzoomfly.com has MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OCv4. It seems like a pretty good deal on this card $142 after $30 mail in rebate. The $30 rebate expires today, normally they're $20. Is this card good? I see MSI really overclocked this 260GTX from stock. I would be upgrading from the OC MSI 8800GT with the Zalman cooler and heatpipes. Should I jump on this or wait for further price drops and new cards? What would the performance increase be over my 8800GT OC?

I currently am running Windows 7, with AE CS5 with a Nvidia 9600GT card.
I am curious if upgrading to a GTX 260 will make any difference in RAM previews and drawing scenes for faster previews. And can this card be used to speed up PP CS5?
Is a faster CPU really the only way to speed up the after effects interface/composition timeline while creating a project?

No, not really. After Effects uses the GPU for some things, but the advantages gained by beefing up one's graphics card are small compared to the benefits that can be gained with the same expense by installing lots of RAM and multiple fast local hard disks.

I will most likely SLI in the future and was wondering if anyone has come across this before - Both of the cards look exactly the same spec wise - I am hoping the Bios in both of them are the same - I think they are pretty much the same card, but I would like to know if anyone has SLI'd them - as the OC-V3 came out before the Twin Frozr - BOth of them have the same fan and heatsink setup!
The OC-V3 are not really around anymore - I am hoping that MSI just renamed them - although the product website has them list as two different products - they seem to be the same...
Anyone have any direct input or experience?

FPS issue who do I belive quicktime or fcp

I opened up some DV pal footage that I captured FCP then I opened it up in quicktime.
I problem is that in the inspetor it does not state the right fps for the clip for example 24.96, 24.98, 24.99 the clip does play at the right FPS 25. i final cut is says that the footage in 25 FPS so who am I to belive

I had some 30 fps footage yesterday that QT stated was playing at 32 fps yet the clip remained the same length on playback.
Suffice to say I take that information with a pinch of salt.

Importing issues with Final Cut Pro X. Green flash and twitches while play back

Hello, I'm having some importing issues with Final Cut Pro X and I can't find any solution whatsoever. Perhaps my importing settings are wrong?
Anyways, I've done a lot of recordings on eye TV and HD PVR with some videos that are about 3 hours long. I exported them into H.264 files, which turns them into mpeg-4 files with AAC audio. Then I import them into final cut pro X and I notice it takes a long time for them to render the videos and I notice that there are some green screens and twitches while I play through the video.

Could it be my 2 video graphics card that is causing this kind of issues? Or is there any solution to fix this?
In the past, I've used iMovie 09 and it worked out perfectly. However, the new iMovie 11 is terrible because it automatically optimzie my 3 hour long videos into making the importing process to (144 hours long to import). Is there any way to get iMovie 09 back or am I stuck on dealing with this Final Cut Pro X issues?

My project settings for video properties is set to custom, 720P HD Format, 1280 x 720 Resolution and 30P Rate. The audio and render properties is set to custom, audio channels is stereo, audio sample rate is 48kHz and the Render Format is Apple ProRes 422.
I export the video as a quicktime movie. The export setting is H.262.
The summary of the export is:
File type: Quicktime movie
Estimated size: 397GB
H.264, Width and height: 1280 x 720. Framte rate: 30 fps

Compatibility issues with Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro

I'm getting ready to edit a project and I was wondering if there are any compatibility issues with Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro. I've never used Express put I assume I would be able to make cuts, simple effects and titles. Is this correct.
If I transfer project files from one platform to the other will i run into any issues?

GTX 970 FPS Issues

Hi there,
I just recently upgraded from Gtx550ti to Msi Gtx970 Gaming 4G. It was working fine for a couple of weeks then I started having problems with FPS and I have no idea what was the cause. I'm pretty sure that it can play smoothly World of Warcraft on Ultra settings without any hiccups or fps drops. I already tried lowering the settings but still dropping from 120FPS to 10-15FPS (Vsync Disabled). I also tried upgrading my Motherboard's Bios but it didn't help at all, did a full scan of anti virus and made sure that my graphic card's software is up to date. I need help :( not sure if this is a faulty one or am I missing anything?

I will try that 1x8GB of RAM for sure.
I've played BF4, Diablo 3 and GW2, AC Unity with Ultra Settings and WoW seems to be the only one that has problems. I will try to mess up with the settings too and see if that helps.
