GTX 560 TI 448 - Cant start Kombustor Benchmark - W7 64bit freeze due faultyGPU?

Hi guys,
I recently got my new system but there are happening some strange things. The computer froze 5 times this week, and I have no clue what the problem is. So after asking some advice on forums I'm now testing my parts for faults...
True Afterburn, i press the K button and a furry animation appears. It says MSI kombustor - Direct3D 9.... So that works.. 10 min. already.. How long should I let this run?
Now if I run Kombustor and want to start "Run stress test" or "Run Preset:1080" I get the message, "initializing kMark", and it just keeps on loading on that message. I've waited half hour but still nothing.. I can't find anything about the kmark benchmarking not launching.. Anyone any advice please??
EDIT: It's just the Kmark tab where I cant start anything. The other things run.
Ok so more info about my system:
Motherboard - MSI x79 GD65 8D - MS7760 (bios version V1.0/20111014, the Live update tool says there is a newer version but I just cant upgrade!!! I can't understand the explanation that comes with the biosfile download... its all about Windows2000 and other old windows!)
CPU - Intel Core i7 3820 3,6Ghz
CPU - MSI Geforce GTX560 TI 448 1.3GB TF III Power OC
RAM - CORSAIR 16GB (4 x 4GB) Vengeance Blue CML16GX3M4A1600C9B
PSU - COOLERMASTER Silent Pro 850W
HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
OS - Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
Nothing overclocked
Edit: I forgot to mention. During the first update-installations of Windows 7 I got this massive "broken screen", all blocky purple green.. but I saw true the blocks the text of the updates (updating please wait 1/3...) So I just waited, after an auto restart it all went back to normal..
Thanks

Allright big thanks, now I know exacly what to do. Just one more note. I was browsing the forums further and I noticed people are searching for drivers for the N560GTX-448 Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC (my card too). I just installed the latest GTX 500-series driver from nvidia driver page. I hope thats's ok. Just now I checked the MSI site for drivers for the card but there are none.
yes should be fine

2. As I already mentioned about that one time I got a blocked purple green (artifacts) screen during windows updates. Does this deffinitly mean there is a hardware problem with GPU, or can it also be just software problem?
its not clear, could be caused by vga driver or something else

3. Still have no sollution why the Kmark benchmark from Kombustor doesn't work.. It came with the graphics card.. Do I have to overclock my card first?
Nope you no need to OC further your card. Dunno about Kmark, normally i don't use such

  • Should I get an MSI GTX 560 Ti 448 Twin Frozr III?

I'm thinking of upgrading my graphics card and obviously I'm looking to get one that'll go well together with Premiere (CS 5.5). For now, I've set my sights on the MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 Cores Twin Frozr III 1280 MB. I'm especially attracted to this card, as from my research it should be particularly quiet in desktop use, which is essential to me. Would this be a good choice, or should I be looking at GTX 570 for instance, or a card with more memory?

    Arve,
I appreciate the effective and quiet cooling provided by MSI's non-reference designs. I don't have the exact card you mention, but have a system with a MSI GTX 460 Hawk (twin fans, similar to the Frozr design) and it performs WAY quieter than the GTX 260 reference card I had prior to that. I would not be worried at all regarding noise and cooling with 120mm case fans. When comparing how much air 120mm fans can move to clear video card (and CPU) heat from your case vs. the reference GTX cards pushing air through a VERY tiny space, you can expect quieter and more effective cooling with the Frozer. The only possible caveat that I can think of with the Frozr is that you need at lease 1/2" of space in front of both fans so that air can easily enter the fans. If you have a motherboard / PCIe situation where you need to put a card immediately next to the Frozr, then you should go with a reference design; I suspect that gamers wanting 2, 3, or even 4 video cards running in SLI has a lot to do with why the various "big fan" designs are not more common in the market.
Additional to the cooling subject being discussed so far, there is another Newegg listed GTX 560Ti listed with less cores but 2GB of video RAM. Depending on if you ever edit anything with large frame needs such as large photos in video slide shows or RED 4k, etc., possibly the larger video buffer would be more advantageous to you system than the one you mention above that has a slightly higher core count.

    hello
    thanks for the reply
I think a first great question is how did you acquire tomcat on
    your machine?
Did you compile it from source,
or find a binary somewhere?a simple .exe installer (5.5.25 version)
    in other friendly forum
i recieve a suggestion of replace both .exe thor these ones
    http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tomcat/connectors/trunk/procrun/bin/amd64/
    see that is for 64bits
now i have this error (less of of course that the original)

  • Can i hack gtx 560 ti speed up rendering in premiere pro using mercucy engine ??*

I'm going to buy this card soon, msi gtx 560 ti oc version, i wonder if i can "hack" it to use mercucy to speed up rendering and playback ??? please tell me ??

As Harm stated, yes, you can. However, there are currently two different MSI GTX 560 Ti OC cards on the market (the Twin Frozr II and the Twin Frozr III, the former being based on the regular 560 Ti with only 384 CUDA cores and 256-bit graphics memory bus, the latter with 448 CUDA cores and a 320-bit graphics memory bus). Between the two, go for the Twin Frozr III as the lesser Twin Frozr II (being based on the "regular" 560 Ti) can only achieve a score of 90 to 100 seconds (versus 60 to 70 seconds for the Twin Frozr III/GTX 560 Ti 448) in the MPEG-2 DVD portion of the PPBM5 benchmark even on a system with a heavily overclocked CPU. (This assumes that you're going to use the card in a system with an overclocked i7-2600K or higher CPU. If on the other hand you're going to use the new card in a system with only a limited-overclockable i5 CPU or an i7 CPU that's stuck at or near stock speed, then the regular Twin Frozr II would be sufficient as the Twin Frozr III's performance would not have been sufficiently faster in such a limited system to justify the higher price.)
Remember, performance is affected not only by the number of CUDA cores, but also by the memory throughput. The latter is the very reason why the GTX 550 Ti is slightly slower than the GTX 260 despite both GPUs having the exact same number of CUDA cores (192, in this case) because 192-bit DDR5 memory (as used on the GTX 550 Ti) has slightly less total memory throughput than the GTX 260's 448-bit DDR3 memory.

  • MSI GTX 560 TI Hawk Unstable?

I have a brand new custom built PC with two MSI 560 TI Hawk cards in SLI and I have a problem with playing games on this system. I've tried Portal 2, Far Cry 2, Two Worlds 2 and The Witcher 2. All games seem unstable with comparable problems:
Random lock-ups for 10-20 seconds with audio looping
Random small jitters, frame drops and stutters, including audio stutters
Sometimes my whole system freezes so I have to push the reset button
    Artifacts
Flickering parts of the horizon, sky or ground in the game
Sometimes the game runs fine for a few minutes and then the problems start happening, sometimes they are there from the beginning.
I tried to eliminate possible causes one by one to narrow out the actual problem. Even disabling SLI and running on a single card doesn't help.
Here are the things I tried:
Monitor GPU temperatures with GPU-Z: didn't show anything unusual, around 35 degrees idle to 65-70 degrees stressed
Disable SLI: didn't fix the problem
Download MSI drivers v266.44 (older version than current NVidia drivers): didn't fix it and I couldn't find the SLI option in these drivers so i switched back to v280.26
Check driver and firmware version with MSI Live Update 5: everything seemed to be up to date
Remove graphics cards: cleaning the connections and re-installing, didn't fix it
Stress the cards with FurMark: no issues detected and temperatures seemed normal (70 degrees stressed)
Lower the stock clock speed (950 Mhz) to the standard non-overclocked speed (822 Mhz): this seemed to help at first and the problems didn't occur for a while. But while i'm testing right now Portal 2 froze and stuttered a few times again. Although it seems like it happens less often. So this might be a clue to my problem. Anyway I didn't pay extra money for these overclocked cards to underclock them back to standard so I would like to make the cards run on stock settings (950 Mhz).
    Here are my system specifications:
Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4 Ghz (stock speed)
    Mainboard: Asus P8Z68 V-Pro
    Memory: 2x Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 CL9 12800 Mhz
    SSD: Crucial M4 256GB SSD
HDD: 2x WD Caviar Blue - Raid 0
Graphics: NVidia Geforce GTX 560 TI Hawk 1GB SLI
    PSU: Corsair TX750 V2 (750 watt)
I hope you can help me to fix this issue because I'm out of ideas right now....
    Thanks in advance
    Tandpastatester

Well I've tried some more things but it's all still very weird and not helping at all   I will explain my findings in the order i tested the cards this time, after every card-switch i did a clean re-install of the VGA drivers:
    Card-2
I've ran the OCCT test for one hour on card-2, i got zero errors and temperature never went above 76 degrees with a fan speed around 68%. After this i tried testing some games again and I found out there were still problems regardless of me saying that card-2 did fine before. In Portal 2 I was leaving the game on for a while and after a few minutes it froze with audio looping. I found out that when I use ctrl+alt+del to go to the task manager and then go back to the game it recovered and I could continue playing (weird??!). The same thing happened with The Witcher 2, freezing with audio loop and going to task manager and back let me continue playing. This happened every few minutes.
    Card-1
Now it was time to try card-1 again. This time this card didn't seem to have the frequency problems I mentioned before but the problems didn't go away. Portal 2 let the game freeze within a minute, and I could use the same strategy (task manager) to continue, but this time after a few seconds it would freeze again and again. The same happened with The Witcher 2. Then I tried Far Cry 2 and this game had the same flickering problems as with card-2 but a lot worse... it was almost everywhere. Even sometimes the flickering had a checkerboard kind of shape. Now I ran the OCCT test with this card and there were no problems. Another strange thing was that when I was looking at the graph after the test, the temperature was much lower (65 degrees) and the graph line of the framerate was very straight (stable) along the test. This was different than with card 2 where the framerate and temp were higher and not so stable.
After all it appears i have comparable problems with both cards, only with card-1 they are much worse.

    Hi:
There is a specific order you need to install the graphics drivers for the notebooks with the nvidia/intel graphics.
    1. Install the Intel chipset installation utility and reboot.  If the one on your notebook's support page doesn't work, use this one.
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=20775&lang=eng&ProdId=816
    2. Install the Intel HD graphics driver and reboot.  If the one on your notebook's suport page doesn't work, try this one.
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24348
    3. Install the nVidia HD graphics driver and reboot.  If the one on your notebook's support page doesn't work, try this one.

  • I have an Nvidia GTX 560, yet 310.19 wont work

Irritated and baffled by this. This page clearly states that my GTX 560 is supported by 310.19 (as it should...this card isn't that old), yet after installing the new driver and rebooting, Xorg fails to start, and error logs say that the Nvidia kernel module couldn't be initialized.

There were no additional error messages that I could find. Files like /var/log/errors.log /var/log/kernel.log were empty.
I don't see why there's any reason Nvidia should be throwing a fit...the drivers are stated to be compatible with my card. Anyone have any ideas?

    Helloo!
    Specs are as follows:

    Windows 7 64bit
MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II Golden Edition GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi)
I just got this card in the mail about two days ago. Yesterday I played all day with no problems, it was fantastic. Awesome card.
    But...
I played tonight and about a hour into playing I started experiencing Artifacts all over the screen. CSS has white squares all over the screen.
Bad Company is unplayable since it hits me with a white screen or worse crashes my computer. Assassins Creed has really bad Artafacting.
Tho Portal 2 runs awesome (Bad ass game, not surprised. lol)
I thought my card was overheating, So initially I quickly checked the temp and it was running at a cool 46 degrees. So it should be fine? (Max heating before card explodes was 90?)
I played with in game settings with no avail.
I then thought perhaps the drivers were perhaps bad so I reinstalled them, still no luck so I went and tried older drivers still no dice.
I then reduced the clock settings MSI shipped the card with to stock settings. Still no luck.
I even under clocked the sucker and yes... Still the artifacts appeared.
I thought perhaps its not plugged in right or seated right. Nope everything seemed in place and snug.
I plugged in my old Nividia 8800gts and it worked just fine. (Awesome card, lasted me all these years)
I searched for about two hours looking for a fix, but a lot of them talk about RMAs.
So Im thinking this card might be busted, but I really don't want to RMA if I don't have to.
Did I over look a simple fix  , is it busted  , do I have to RMA?
Any help would be awesome... Awesome to the max!

Okay did some research and found out my power supply is multi-railed with the highest output of 12v19a.
According to the manual for this graphics card it needs at least 12v30a.
That's really disappointing since I just bought this power supply about a month ago. It was supposed to
be part of my new computer I built for The World of Tomorrow!
Since in most of my games it run just fine, in fact really well. Video and web interfaces still work well. Only when doing heavy graphics
dose my card start freaking the math out. (excuse my language.)
Using educated guessing I learned in Art School Im going to put my chips on the Power Supply being my problem.
Im either going to ask a friend with a beef cake of a Power Supply for testing or Im just going to roll the dice and buy a new one.
Whatever feels less awkward when I get up tomorrow morning.
In any case I will post again in about two to five business days if all things go a rye or shiny. I like shiny.

  • Msi GTX 560 Twin Frozr II - Problem

    Hey folks,
Im having a problem with my Msi GTX 560 Twin Frozr II video card.
I can't make it work with my monitor, all I get is "No signal detected"
I know the monitor is fine, because I used it as it worked all good when I plugged it into
my laptop. It's a BenQ G2222HDL monitor btw. It has one VGA (D-sub) and one Dvi-D input.
So i've tried all types of cables (VGA, Dvi-D and even Hdmi cables), and
still, can't get no signal. What can I possibly do to make things work?
Also, my computer acts a bit wierd when it's starting up. Usually, I would turn it on, then it would turn itself off really quick. Then I turn it on again,
and it goes just fine and runs smoothly. After I changed the position of some RAM modules
and such, it changed. Now when I turn it on, the fans spin for 1 and there's just a tiny bit of noise until
it turns itself off. Then I turn it on again, and it goes just fine with all fans and stuff spinning.
So, I really need some help!

    Cpu - Intel i5 2500k, 3,3GHz, Socket LGA1155, 6MB with Noctua DH-14 CPU Cooler

    Memory - Corsair XMS3 DDR3 4GB 1600MHz CL 9 (2x2GB kit)
Video card - MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti 1GB PhysX, PCI-Express 2.0,"Twin Frozr II", GDDR5, 2xDVI, native-miniHDMI, CUDA, 256bit (GF 114, overclocked to 880 Mhz on the core), (Marketing name; N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC)
    Harddrive 1 - Crucial Real C300 (64GB - 355/75 Mb/s read/write) SSD
    Harddrive 2 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200RPM, SATA 3.0 Gbps, 3,5", 16MB Cache, 8.9ms
Chassis - Fractal Define R3 Black Pearl Mid tower chassis (ATX, mATX, mITX) with two 120mm fans
Power Supply - Corsair HX Series 750 Watt Modular 80 plus silver (ATX 12v 63 amp)
Haven't got a chance to install os, but will install Windows 7 64Bit.
    The monitor is a BenQ 21,5" LED G2222HDL (1920 x 1080, 5000000:1, 5ms, VGA/DVI-D)
More background info; I build the computer myself. Everything went mostly fine, except for that I had to spend quite a long time to get everything right.
I started the machine, and it all went just fine (except for rebooting and then running smoothly, as it has done ever since). I did the MemOK! test and everything seemed to be fine. But when using the VGA cable that came with the monitor, I couldn't get any signal detected (I used a VGA to DVI adapter to plug the VGA cable into the Msi 560 TI videocard). I used 2 different adapters, but nothing happened. I tried with a HDMI cable, just to test, and that did not work either. Then, I figured out I should order a DVI-D cable.
So I ordered the cable, and went on to plug it into my monitor and my video card, no adapters needed. Still, no signal at all! Tried a different monitor to check if it was the monitor's fault. Nope, still no signal. Frustrated, I used the VGA cable again and tried to plug the monitor into the laptop, which worked just fine. A clear, bright image appeared. But not with my desktop computer with the Msi GTX 560 Twin Frozr II. Nothing works when I plug in the cables etc. No signal at all, although the computer itself seems to run just fine with fans spinning up and the different components making noise etc. Thus, I figured out there probably was something wrong with my Msi Geforce GTX 560 TI Twin Frozr II. Now I dont really know what to do.
Does anyone have an answer/advice/possible solution to my problem? I'm getting a tad frustrated now, seeing as I bought this computer 2 weeks ago and still haven't got to use it yet.

  • Nvidia Quadro 600, GeForce GTX 560 Ti or cheaper for Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3?

    Hello,
I am a professional photographer and I am setting up a new PC (i7, Windows 7 64bit). But I have some troubles to choose the graphic card.
I use Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 3, no video editing.
Between the Open GL, Open CL, CUDA accelerations etc ... professional graphic cards models and consumer ones I am lost!
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti seems more powerful and more versatile but I tell myself that if Nvidia has professional range there must be a reason.
So in Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 what would be the best: GeForce GTX 560 Ti or Nvidia Quadro 600?
    http://www.geforce.com/Hardware/GPUs/geforce-gtx-560ti/specifications
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-quadro-600-us.html
Any reason to get a Quadro 2000?
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-quadro-2000-us.html
Or the graphic card doesn’t matter much and I should take an entry-level GeForce to enjoy the HDMI and the silence? Which one then?
Does the Quadro 600 manages 10bits display 10bits? And the Geforce?
Any change announced with Photoshop CS6 and Ligthroom4?
The only 3D application I use is Google Earth in 3D mode, does it make any difference?
    Thank you for your help.

You say "no video editing"...  If that's going to be the case, and you won't use the Mercury engine in the Adobe Premiere Pro package, which needs the nVidia Cuda subsystem, then I recommend you consider the ATI brand over nVidia.
    Why?
Because while neither brand's developers (ATI or nVidia) always release perfect drivers, I find ATI display drivers to be of consistently higher quality than that of nVidia releases.  What this means to you is generally fewer crashes or quirks.  ATI has also traditionally supported older cards into the future better than nVidia - this might matter to you in a few years.
People ask me what video card I would recommend, and right now that would be a VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 6670 1 GB GDDR5 card.  I like this particular card because:
I've had 100% success with VisionTek cards in a number of different systems, not only initially but they have all run as long as I have used them, without ever breaking down.
The 6670 model uses very little power (under 70 watts) and as such doesn't stress your computer's power supply, need a separate power connection, nor make a lot of fan noise.
It's not the fastest card made for 3D gaming, but it's inexpensive and excellent for Photoshop.  No matter what you choose, you should get a card that scores over 500 on the Passmark GPU benchmark, ideally over 1000:  http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/
The ATI Catalyst display driver implementations for the 4670/5670/6670 line of cards have been good and solid.
1 GB of on-card memory seems to be a good size, even for editing a lot of images, and GDDR5 memory provides faster access than DDR3.
You should know that besides using Photoshop heavily, I also develop OpenGL-based software as well, so I have some additional insight into driver implementations.

  • Mercury Playback Engine- GTX 560 issue?

    Adobe Premiere Pro Cs6
    MPEG-2 from a Sony (HVR-Z1U) HDV 1080
    Asus P9X79 Motherboard
    i7- 3820 @ 3.9ghz, slight overclock. Regular LGA 2011 Intel Fan w/ thermal paste
    EVGA GeForce GTX 560- 336 Cuda cores/OpenGL
    12 gb GSkill
    SSD for boot & software
1 TB Barracuda, 1 TB WD Black, both7200 rpm, each in half= 4 drives (:D,:E,:F,:G) for scratch and storage.
    500w Purepower PSU
The card is recognized within CS6 and other various test applications.
With MPE GPU Acceleration Enabled I still have red bars above the footage in several projects. This footage has no effects on it whatsoever. It is merely cut.  If I used an Accelerated Effect, the bar will turn to yellow.
When I render the footage with red bars the GPU load is never above like 3%. At times, it will stay at 0%.  Needless to say, the render time doesn't not seem very optimized at all. Sloww.
However, after rendering the footage and the green bar appearing, I've added an Accelerated Effect- Sharpen, and it turns red again! The play back is then choppy. It will playback if I reduce resolution but how the heck am I supposed to implement the effects like that?
The minute I open several projects there is either no bar for untouched footage or a red bar. I switch between MPE software and hardware setting and still no yellow bar unless I specifically use an Accelerated Effectnc
Am I simply unclear on the function of MPE and I'm expecting too much?
I am using Magic Bullet's DeNoiser function for 60mins of footage with 18db gain- this is taking 50 hours. I expect it to be long. Is 50 hours too long?
I also have green and pink pixel artifacts as random quarter inch squares.
    Is the card bad?
    I tried a few earlier drivers...nothing.
I researched the PSU, good reviews on New Egg.
    Is this a CPU issue?
Thanks as always for the help guys.

I have done a fresh install of the OS altogether. This was in order to reformat drives, reassign scratch disks, reinstall software and fresh unlocking of the video card.
Premiere Pro acts the same more or less. Noise removal is cpu intensive and when I'm removing 18db of video grain, I guess, yea, it'll be pretty slow.
I believe that the problem is the PSU.  NewEgg's PSU calculator says my system needs 525watts minimum. I'm operating on a 500w. At the start of the post I was overlcocking and was also experiencing occasional reboots. I think lack of power caused the artifacts in the GTX 560. This is probably also bottlenecking the CPU and GPU (reason for low loads).
My solution is to purchase 700-850watt psu. I'm hoping this will allow the CPU & GPU the ability to process much higher loads.
Please, if anyone sees any further correction to this I'm open ears!
    Cheers.

  • Why does the GeForce GTX 560 Ti NOT support OpenCL?

From the Nvidia web site it says that the GeForce GTX 560 Ti supports:  DirectX 11 > 3D Vision > PhysX > CUDA > SLI >
301.24 drivers have been used and have downgraded to 296.10 to see if that would help, but it didn't.
When I check the performance tab under Advanced it shows that the OpenCL option is grayed out.  When I check the Sys info log it also shows that OpenCL is Not availible (included below).
Why is this and when will it be fixed?  Now that CS6 is shipping it should be working.

Thanks RGN07, it certainly never occurred to me that the heat sensors may not be functioning correctly. I'll do some more digging.
When I said the card is always under 50 degrees when it fails, the reason for this is that it hasn't even finished Test 1 of the Kombustor Benchmark (Normal Preset) - the artefacts start at T=0 and the crash/blank screen occurs within a minute. The card hasn't really had a chance to heat up.
Having said that, I did my little workaround today (moved my card to the other PCI slot) and so the card is working again. The Kombustor benchmark took it up to 55 degrees by the time it completed successfully.
Running the Burn In Test (Extreme deselected) in DX11 mode took the card up to 68 degrees in 3 minutes - probably more like what you were expecting. No artefacts.
Ambient room temp is 20 degrees. Core voltage .987V.
Looks like a mobo pci slot issue. I had RAM slots broke before and its not uncommon to have GPU slots behaving the same way. Let's hope its just that and not the GPU. BTW 68c in 3 minutes is normal. Mine gets to that in the same time.

  • GTX 560 Ti (Twin Frozr II) Temperatures

Hello, I know that temperatures are a 'hot' topic always, especially for the 560 Ti as it is rated 20'C cooler than stock. At the moment I hit a threshold of 92-95'C when playing World of Tanks on 1680x1050, full settings except Anisotropic 8x. The custom fan settings are such that after 70'C the fans are at 100%.
I have only 1 VGA - GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II, in an NZXT Tempest 410 Elite case. It has 2x 140mm exhausts (top) 1x 120mm exhaust (back), 3x 120mm intake (2 front, 1 bottom). I can attach pictures if a visual of the setup is needed. I have an excellent wiring setup, there is very little blockage. I also run BOINC and hit high 70s and mid 80s. Most games run in the high 80s.
I've tried Furmark a few times but anything larger than 800x600 maxes temperatures almost immediately (within seconds) and the fans cannot catch up and I stop it before it can set fire to itself. It also makes a loud ringing noise during those tests, so that's not good either.
Is anyone familiar with such high temperatures on a card that is not OC, other than how it came in the box, in a case with lots of airflow, playing games that really shouldn't be hitting that temperature? Also, I've tried testing with the removed side panel, it changes by perhaps +/- 1-2'C.
All help is greatly appreciated, I'd like to know if I have to RMA for faulty thermal paste or just stop worrying about the glowing red boiler in my computer.
    Thank you,
    Kyatto

Have you re-seated the cooler on it yet with fresh TIM? Some people have done that and got a reduction in temperature and therefore fan speed and noise as well. If that doesn't do any good then RMA the card as it should not get to max temp like that.
I don't have any issues like that on my 560 Ti GE TF ll and currently it's running f@h 66% fan speed, 73C at 99% GPU load, 23C room temp. This is in CM 330 Elite case with 1 front intake, 1 rear exhaust fans both 120mm + PSU fan exhaust. Nothing fancy there and I've never had temperature issues with any MSI (6 in all the past few years & all but 2 with TF ll coolers)
I certainly don't see how replacing all of his case fans would help with his VGA temperature problem.
This is one scenario I feel I can speak with authority on and I bet 100 internet points it doesn't address the issue but there is no harm in doing it.
AS LONG AS YOU ARE GENTLE PULLING THE HEATSINK OFF
You can't just lever it off, you'll need to giggle/spin/twist back and forth a bit. This is because you'll find an ungodly amount of gloop under the heatsink and it provides very strong surface tension.
The reason i ask about the adapter is I got a strange one with the 1st card I got that had to be RMA'd because of the same high temp issue you are having. (it was about 8cm long, and grey)
Initially I thought maybe it was a batch of cards that shipped with that one that were the hot ones, a duff batch.
Ironically I cant use both DVI sockets and the mini hdmi port because the card is not wide enough. The weird grey adapter would sort that issue out so I'm trying to find one.
