video card? Like seriously it's not stable..
    I've tried this....
    1. Use Afterburner [Just need a good stable setting maybe?]
    2.Reinstalled my computer.
3.Updated drivers also i've tried to change to beta drivers.
4.Picked older versions of nvidia drivers..

I think the warrenty is off, i contacted MSI for a while ago they said i had it left and they were able to change it to a new one that's working but

None the less let's concentrate on the vga. When does it show artifacts. Right when starting 3D, after some time or randomly? If possible add screenshots.
It's very random when It's going to crash, i have 2 pictures showing how it could look, also just want to say that sometimes when My computer tries to reset The card, i can get a bluescreen.

  • Another GTX 580 Twin Fozr DX11 green artifact driver reset issue

    Hello there.
I just had a new computer built for me, and I am getting the green artifact issue that so many people seem to be having. These are my computer specs:
    CPU: Intel i5-2500k @ 3.3GHz OC'd to 3.9
    MB: Gigabyte z68x-UD3H-B3
GPU: MSI Twin Fozr GTX 580, set at factory OCs
    PSU: Corsair CMPSU-750HX
Memory: 2x Kingston 4GB HyperX RAM
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
    2x 24" LG Flatron monitors
I only ever have these issues when playing games like World of Warcraft, or the new Deus Ex Human Revolution with DX11 enabled. When disabled the games run fine. I have tried many solutions I have found on this forum, and none of them have worked. I have tried just about every driver available, I have reduced the GPU clocks to reference clock speeds, I have tried increasing the voltage of the GPU, nothing works.
One thing I did notice, while trying to play WoW with Afterburner open on my second display that it is easily running up to 99% GPU usage. Usually it is around this time the artifacts appear and the driver gets reset.
Any help of advice would be greatly appreciated. I am very frustrated as this is a brand new machine, brand new card, and I'm having more trouble running games in DX11 than my previous 5 year old computer with a AMD 5850 in it. I didn't drop €420 on a card to be dealing with these issues.

Alternative you can use Windows based flasher: [read the caution]
with Nvidia Flash Tool[under windows]: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2005/.html
command line to take a VBIOS backup:
    nvflash.exe -b org.rom [ENTER]
command line to flash your VBIOS from cmd:
    nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 mybios.rom [ENTER]
    Where:
org.rom is the name of your original VBIOS
mybios.rom is the name of your VBIOS, you can replace it if needs with your name,
but file extension must end to .rom [etc: another example: mybios.rom or similar]
    Before start flashing your VBIOS:
     * Close all applications that are currently running and can be closed!
     * Close especially any Antivirus Scanners and any other resident scanners!
Those steps are need to prevent and avoid VBIOS update interruption.
DO NOT TURN OFF OR REBOOT MACHINE DURING THE FLASH PROCESS!!!!!

  • Gtx 580 twin frozr II/oc problem

I'm having problem with my gtx 580 twin frozr II/OC. everything is running fine but it crushes or video card lose focus when I run 3dmark 11 or try to play crysis. video output works fine, it plays metro 2033, star craft 2, dead space 2 just fine. It passed 1 hour of furmark stability test fine, 1 hour of OCCT test fine, passed OCCT memory test fine too. I didn't overclock it so it's at factory overclocked speed of 823mhz and idle temp is at 35c, gaming max temp during metro 2033 is 77c, OCCT test max temp was 88c. so I know it's not overheating problem. I have used both nvidia driver or 263.09 and 266.58, same result. it crushes during cutscene or after cutscene of crysis(i hear sound but no visual) and lose focus after initial loading on 3dmark11. vga bio is 70.10.17.00.01 and i am running on windows 7 64 bit ultimate edition. yes, i have updated to latest version of crysis and 3dmark11 too. still, the same. Is something wrong with this card during manufacturer place or what? I don't think this is just my problem coz according to newegg review, there were customers complain about this card gets crush during crysis. I also own gtx 570 from other brand and I was using it b4 I've got msi gtx 580 twin frozr II/oc. It didn't have any problem like this. Anyone know what's causing this? any help? I don't think RMA would help this problem at all coz card is not broken and works fine on everything just fine with no error or artifacts besides those two(3dmark11 and crysis).

  • MSI GTX 580 Twin Frozr 2/OC Problems

Hey guys, I just build my second new(er) computer (specs below, system 2), with this MSI GTX 580 Twin Frozr 2/OC, and I am having several problems. The first problem I noticed was was in Starcraft 2, I was having major texture stretching (looked like units were stretched across the map, exc.), so I tried a new driver to no avail. I delt with that problem and played for several hours to find that the screen turned black, then recovered (happened several times), which I was able to continue playing after. I went ahead and tried Battlefield Bad Company 2, and noticed the same texture stretching, but with big black shapes (almost looked like large artifacts), so I checked the temps, 74c, so that was not the problem. I continued playing for about 5 minutes before the screen went black, turned white, and the game became unresponsive. Thinking it was a possible PSU problem, I moved the card to my first system (specs below, system 1), and produced the same results.
Does anyone have any ideas, or is it time to RMA the card. Sad thing is, I am seeing alot of people having problems with this card, I hope MSI didn't do me wrong here.... :(
P.s. I flashed the newest BIOS for the VGA and the MoBo.

Unfortunately it has, and the artifacting only seems to get worse as time goes on (if the card/game doesn't crash right away that is...). I guess RMA'ing is my only option at this point, thanks for your help.
I'll chock it up to a defective card this time, but seeing all the problems with these similar cards from MSI is making me worried... I only hope MSI didn't do me dirty with this product.
No worries, call msi at +1.626.271.1004 within regular business days and they will take care of it

  • Two (separate) GTX 580 Twin Frozr OC running too hot?

I just just bought two GTX 580 Twin Frozr II OC. I can't run these in SLI yet but have tested both separately in my PC. Something doesn't seem right in the temps. Both cards when using Kombustor get to 85+ degrees. I was made to believe these cards are meant to be far cooler than the reference design (box states 19C cooler!). I tested the cards separately. Ambient temp is just under 30C.
Here are my relevant PC specs:
    Intel Core i7 920 2.67GHz D0
    Thermalright Venomous X + Scythe S-FLEX 120mm 1900rpm SFF21G
    EVGA X58 Classified E760 Motherboard
    Mushkin 6GB DDR3 1600 MHz Redline (998691)
    Corsair HX-620W PSU
    Lian Li PC-A77B (+ W75BT side window)
    Scythe Kaze Master Pro 5.25"
    5x Case fans (3 in - 2 out)
    Pioneer S16J DVD DL-RW
    Western Digital Black 1TB WD1002FAEX
    Western Digital Green 1TB WD10EARS
    Asus Xonar Xense 7.1
Also, when using one of these cards, it bumps my CPU from 40C to 63C idle!
Funny thing is, my GTX 470 was actually cooler than this and that card was heavily overclocked.

Quote from: hellbent joker on 28-February-11, 05:51:19
While I undertand that you will get different results I still haven't read anywhere on the internet that anybody has claimed a 19c difference with these cards or anything close to it. Have you ?   If you have read it somewhere can you please post the links here.
The actual box claims it is 19C cooler than the reference cooler. See MSI's own site: http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N580GTX-Twin-Frozr-II-OC.html

Increasing intake will not do you much good, you need to increase exhaust airflow somehow. Exhaust airflow should be greater than intake. A side intake blowing on VGA cards can help but any way you do it exhaust air still needs to be greater than intake air.
This is a good point. I'll be buying some 2200RPM Yate Loons soon from my water cooling set up (will be throttling them to 1200-1600RPM), I will install two of these in my case as a test to see if my temps drop. I'll then install more as intake as well and observe the difference.

  • A Few Questions About The GTX 580 Twin Frozr/OC in SLI

    Hi everyone!
I have a few questions if you guys don't mind answering them, first thing though to make it clear this system is not built yet but the build will start soon.
My first question is whether or not this PSU is capable of running two GTX 580 Twin Frozr/OC in SLI:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139015&Tpk=AX850
    +3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V1@70A, [email protected], +5VSB@3A
My second question is whether or not the GTX 580 Twin Frozr/OC will come with a SLI bridge connector long enough to accomplish a connection over this distance:
If not where can I buy a bridge capable of accomplishing this?, the reason for this distance is to keep the bottom card from pushing air onto the top one.
The above is a normal ATX form factor motherboard or to be more specific a ASRock P67 EXTREME6.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157231

    Quote
    EDIT-
I'm looking at the picture right now and it looks like the bridge that comes with the motherboard is not long enough, any suggestions on where to buy one?
nope no idea, ask your reseller
    Quote
I didn't mean the Watts I mean the Amps, from other threads in this board it seems that some PSU's aren't up to the task of supplying the card with enough Amps, I was wondering if that PSU could supply enough for both.
Well you can figure from the graph
With one VGA it drains total 447W, where single 580GTX need 40A-42A,
adding second the same VGA to the system drains total 719W
    So 719-447=272W, 272W/12=23A, 42A+23A=65A
    or simple 719/12=60A
    Quote
BTW, I would also like to say I'm currently using a MSI board in my current build and I love it!

  • Gtx 580 twin frozr OC SLI Temps query

    Hi all,
I have 2 x gtx 580 twin frozr OC 800/1600 version cards running in SLI with 270.51 drivers,  idle for GPU1  37-43, idle for GPU2 is 34-40, i have an Antec 1200 case which provides good cooling and also using a side door fan to blow cool air in too, i have raised my voltage in afterburner to 1050 and everthing seems stable
my question is that with vsynch on i get GPU1 max about 75-78 degrees which seems fine as i know and accept that GPU1 in SLI will run hotter (my cards are close togeather on x58 sabertooth) and GPU2 is in the 60`s
but when i switch vsynch off my GPU1 hits high 80`s and up to 93, i have noticed in BFBC2, why is vsynch having such an effect on GPU1? temps, just seems strange that vsynch has such an effect on GPU1 considering i have very average idle temps etc
if my cards are stable is it worth updating the bios? will this help the temps
    cheers
    gamon

No, it should blow fresh air for the graphics' and processor fans to consume and then pass on to a very good exhaust fan, that removes it. - Somewhat like a car engine works. With a side-door fan you normally don't need intake fans, but start by reducing their speed, before removing them.
Plenty of space, 50 - 100 cm, around the case?

  • GTX 580 Twin Frozr 2 tri sli heat problem

    Hi all,
I ordered 3 GTx 580 Twin frozr 2 OC from amazon and while i was checking on the card i found servral people saying these cards can run pretty hot in SLI or Tri SLI and the top card temp reach 100c!!! is it true should i be worried i already bought them im waiting for them to arrive with reset of my build. my PC case is Lian Li P80B.

    Of course they are hot.
Each of them has 244 tdp. It's 750 wt from graphic cards alone.
Even some electric heaters consume less.
If you are planning to have this kind of setup (with no space left for the upper card to "breathe"):

No doubt you will get 90+ C in heavy loads.
PS: What is your motherboard? You should also know that p67/z68 chipsets offer maximum 8/8/4 PCI-E lines for 3 sli. 8 is ok, but 4 is
