GTX 660 with CC 2014
Hello,
I have updated Premiere to CC 2014, and now I can't use GPU acceleration because Premiere says my GTX 660 isn't certified.
Considering I bought my graphics card less than 2 months ago, it is slightly annoying, especially since I was looking forward to the new features of CC 2014.
Is there any chance to see the 660 certified in the near future?
Thanks,
Cédric.
I "solved" the problem by adding my card model to the cuda_supported_cards.txt and it worked.
I must say it's strange since my card wasn't in that file for the previous version of CC, but Premiere didn't complain back then.

Z77A-G43 PCIe 3.0 problem with GTX 660
Hello,
I have built a new computer with the components described above.
There is no video signal output from my GTX 660 when it's connected to the PCIe 3.0.
It's OK when the GTX 660 is connected to the PCIe 2.0.
When GTX 660is connected to PCIe 3.0 there is no signal output even from the onboard video card.
That's mean I don't see bios display or Windows, it's not a windows 7 problem.
Sometimes after connected GTX 660 to the PCIe 3.0, the bios stop and start few times the computer, always without video signal anywhere.
Then It's seems that Windows 7 boot (without display), but there is no sound when Windows 7 is loaded or when I quit Windows 7 (I enter blindly my password, then do Alt-F4 and enter , and Computer stop).
I try to reset CMOS, setting in the bios PEG or IGD but nothing good.
The bios version was 2.8, I flash it to E7758IMS.293 but same problem.
This GTX 660 is a PCIe 3.0 compliant !
Any idea ?
Thx for your helpQuote from: mastermylord on 24-February-13, 03:31:09

PCI Express Revision : 2.0

You don't need PCI-E 3.0 for GTX 660.
The PCI-E 2.0 bandwidth is more than enough for your GPU. -
MSI GTX 660 OC compatibility problem with MB
I recently got the MSI GeForce GTX 660 OC TwinFrozr III 2GB DDR5 192-bit and Gigabyte GA-B75-D3V.
Problem is: when I start the computer, the monitor doesn't show anything, it's like it's on stand-by. I then connected the GTX 660 to another computer with a pci-e 2.0 motherboard and worked fine (didn't install drivers, just started the computer and saw that it shows stuff on the monitor). I then connected another GPU (Gigabyte GT 420) to my new pc and worked fine aswell (showed stuff on the monitor).
My question is: is there a compatibility problem between the gpu and the motherboard? Do I need to make a bios upgrade?
Thank you for your help!VGA S/N?

'No Signal' -- GTX 660 ti not working with a H-Joshua-H61-uATX motherboard
Hi,
I have a HP pg 2302eam with an updated 550w PSU ready to run a gtx 660 ti GPU. However, I only get 'no signal' on my monitor.
As far as I'm aware, with the updated PSU, the PC should be fine to run the card.
Would there be a compatibilty issue with my motherboard? Or is there something I can do with my BIOS to help resolve this issue?
I see no options in the current (and latest v8) BIOS to disable the integrated graphics and run the new GPU from the pci slot.
What could cause this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Punchpidge
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi,
Have heard, if you have a UEFI Bios, you have enter BIOS, disable secure boot and enable legacy boot in order to enable the new video card. All things equal, this is assuming no power supply issues.
Not sure what OS you are using and could not find the model number you indicated in your post.
Lastly, it is good to uninstall current video drivers, shut down, install new card, then install new drivers upon successful reboot into the operating system.

GTX 660 TI with 990fxa-gd80v2 3 way sli issue
Just added a third video card and 1200w PSU to my rig. The card shows up as "windows generic display adapter" (or some verbage similar to that. I wiped the Nvidia drivers and re-installed the latest release. The card still doesn't work (says it needs driver update, when you try to update - it says it is up to date.) When the PC reboots after the driver update, it shuts off video display after the Windows 8 splash screen. I have to power off and restart. After the third restart, it goes into windows repair mode. It tries to roll back to a previous version and then cannot complete the task. I continue to Windows and it goes all the way through. The card still doesn't show and SLI settings are reverted to defaults and not saved. Are there BIOS settings for 3 way SLI that need to be changed? It worked fine with 2 way. Do I need to update a driver for the PCI controller? Clear CMOS? Any help or ideas appreciated. Hoping to not have to do a re-install of Windows 8.

When I would 3Dmark the rig, it would restart after the combined test - So I figured the PSU was getting sketchy (everything but the PSU and case was new at this point.) So, in other words - Win 8 with 2-way with old PSU was ok. Win 8 with 3-way and new PSU is not working yet.

BlackScreen and System Reboot with MSI GTX 660 OC TF
Please Svet, or another adm/technnical supporter, I need help!
I have a MSI GTX 660 2gb/ddr5 TF OC s/n 602-V287-04SB1208202249.
I'm having some issues in some games (like Batman Arkham City, Dead Island, Mirror's Edge, Tomb Raider 2013): A few moments after I start to play I just receive a blackscreen, sound bug (like a CD scratched) and the pc reboots.
I already uninstalled the driver with driver sweeper (not in safe mode), reinstalled, installed a old driver and the issue continues. I updated the bios to the NV287MH211 bios. Not helped. I formatted my system too.
I bought another psu, the problem persists.
My system is:
Intel Core i5 3570k 3.4~3.8ghz
Board Gigavyte GA-Z77X-D3H v1.0 (F16 bios)
8gb ram ddr3 kingstom 1333mhz
Psu OCZ ZT550w
Windows 7 64bit
I have a Zotac GTX 460, I tested him and have no problem with the games.
I have no idea what to do anymore.
I will attach a screenshot from bluescreen viewer, the error that appears when I can finish the game without system reboot (ctrl+alt+del) and a log from gpu-z with the moment of the crash.
Thank you for the help, and sorry for my english.
Blue Screen viewer:
Batman crash error:
Gpu-z log:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?ywskyvjfwyj3ub3
Edit:
I tested Borderlands 2 and after few minutes playing the blackscreen happened, then I just hit ctrl+alt+del, the screen goes white and I listen the sound of disconnected hardware. NVidia Kernel mode sttoped work. I also installed NVidia 320.00 beta driver without solution to the problem.
Apparently, this issue only happens when I play some games that need more gpu use. I'm not sure about this.Quote from: flobelix on 22-May-13, 02:38:25
Besides you are bumping your thread which is prohibited (>>Please read and comply with the Forum Rules.<<) your addressing one member (in this case even the admin) is bad behavior and will keep others from helping you (as only Svet is asked).
Sorry for that. I don't know everyone in here. I only ask for Svet because another topics that I saw. But in the start of my post I put "or another adm/technical supporter".
I really sorry for that.
Anyway I need help for everyone who can helps me.
Again, sorry for my english too. -
Disappointing MSI GTX 660 TF3 clock speeds / voltage, not on par with others
Hi,
I wanted to ask why is there suck a disperency between my GTX 660 TF3 speeds/voltage compared to other people.
My max boost clock is 1123.5 whereas most references i found are above 1150/60+ in average
My max voltage under full load in GPU-Z is 1.162 whereas others got 1.175
Is it linked to my poor ASIC of 68.8% ?
Currently disappointed because i thought that by buying an MSI card (premium priced in my country) i would got better clocks or at least clocks in the average range of other users. I guess i'm just unlucky, but being a bit burnt now, i think i'll pass and try another brand next time.
That said, is it normal that my card doesnt even reach a voltage of 1.175 under full load ???
Thanks in advance for your reply, and merry christmas anyways.Quote from: zigzagzap on 26-December-12, 05:30:34
Thank you for the reply, but talking to me about overclock is a bit off-topic dont you think?
not really as the boost clock is an automatic overclock (the boost clock is down to the GPU as well, some will hit the target of 1150MHz some wont)!
Quote from: zigzagzap on 26-December-12, 05:30:34
Under stock presets (no-overclock-at-all), all of them have cards that got a 1.175 voltage under full load whereas mine is only 1.162
Even when you look at reviews on internet, you can see that they list 1.175v as STOCK voltages under full load in their default specs sheet for that MSI card.
All in all, gotta ask again, is it normal for my card to not run at 1.175v on stock presets? Yes/no?
like i said it depends on the individual GPU! most will run at 1.175V under load normally but some wont as its very random as no 2 are identical and the voltage the core asks for is very random from sample core to sample core!
its all luck of the draw..... <--- seen some referance cards that will out perform full custom ones.
if you not satisfied >>How to contact MSI.<< contact them and if you wan't a replacement then they will tell you how to go about it! <--- no expected voltages or clock speeds are ever fully garenteed as the newer GPU's are all over the place. -
Photoshop CC 14.2.1 and NVidia GTX 660 Display Problems
I'm having exactly this problem:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/6264980
The fix documented at the end of that thread works but the penalty is a loss of performance. In an attempt to fix it, I updated to the latest drivers from NVidia for the GTX 660 and as a result, further problems occur:
This sometimes happens when using the crop and straighten tool at 100%.
More often though, irrespective of zoom settings I get:
This happens quite frequently with the dust and scratches/surface blur tools too. Or even on occasion when duplicating a layer or merging layers.
The following gets written out to the event log:

For now I'm using the following work around but with some performance penalty:
Drawing mode: Basic (resolves the issue with mask overlay being patchy and rendering slowly at 100% zoom)
OpenCL: Disabled (resolves Photoshop crashing with crop/straighten and other tools as described above)
This needs to be fixed! The reduced performance increases the time I spend editing, particularly a large product shoot undertaken recently for a client.

Installed TWAIN devices: NONEMy advice: Rather that wait hopefully, try some alternate configuration settings.
Specifically, go into your Preferences - Performance - Advanced Settings panel, and try the different options there, making sure to close Photoshop and restart it after each change, then test.
It's possible Photoshop asked the nVidia display driver what it can do, and it said it could do something very advanced, but in the driver implementation some part of that advanced operation is run in the CPU, not the GPU. NVidia has been known to do this!
Thus it may be that if you choose a lesser drawing mode or change something (e.g., 30 bit display) you might find that particular combination of settings makes things run faster.

I am hoping this is an easy one for all of you....I just built another Msi Board...Board in the title....
I enabled Pci-e 3 in Bios-before I even installed the operating system.....so after all the updates...all the drivers....100% ready for retail..
I downloaded Gpu-Z,,,,,,showing up as Pci-e 2.0.....so i did the render test and it stayed at 2.0...did not climb to 3.0....
This is my first combo---Pci-e 3.0 board and Processor.....am I missing a setting?
speccs....
I7 3770k----Z77a-G43.......GTX 660 Ti DC2......Windows 7 Ultimate....
and yes at first i thought it was speed stepping it down....But when I ran the render test that Gpu-z has....it maxed everything and never showed at 3.0....
Thanks
Hey Mods.....I messed up and put this post with the amds......SorryI hate replying to my own Post..But i figured just encase, somebody else has the issue....They will know ,it is not just you..It is on most boards, with the older bios....If I would have posted in the right forum..Intel..LOL!!!!I would have found the answer right off the back...
This board need the beta Bios...Not a big deal, But as for right now..It is running great. No need for a bios update. Because there would be no performance gains at all...maybe 2 or 3 fps...Not even enough to make it worth it. My board is running great and I will leave Great alone.
Most Vid Card can not take advantage of the Pci-e 3.0 slots...and from what i read it will be about 3-5 years before we can get cards to take advantage...That kind of bite, But what can you do.........Thanks for reading if I have wasted your time...
These are not Facts--This is Just stuff I read on other post and forums...I could be 100% wrong...... -
Can I install a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 into my HP laptop?
Hi I was wondering if I could possibly install a new graphics card into my HP laptop? My laptop is a HP 15-d051sa 15.6" so you can search it up on Google.
My specs:
RAM: 8gb
HDD: 1TB
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N3510 2Ghz (2mb cache)
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics
I think they're all the specifications I need to mention for you guys to help me.
-Thanks Zack.
This question was solved.
View Solution. No it cannot be done. The video system is part of the motherboard and cannot be changed. Even if you were to change to the best HP 15 motherboard it has graphics much less powerful than the GTX 660 and the motherboard swap would cost as much as the laptop did to begin with.

Q on GTX 660 not working in PremPro CS6 also SpeedGrade, heard of tab selection
I have a newly configured PC with a new GTX 660 video card with a new load of Premiere Pro and can not operate Premiere correctly or load Tiffen Dfx .....so I thought I had purchsed a higher performance card than those recommended ....also I've heard there was a Playback tab selection for utilizing non-offical video cards...Edit>Preferences>Playback I don't see anything to re-config...Thanks from a flustered Barry
The feature you're talking about won't be available until the new version comes out June 17th. For now, you will need to hack the file the old way to get CUDA acceleration working.

GTX 660 Ti Power Edition HELP!!!!!!
I recently purchased a GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC Power Edition and I have been experiencing issues with it. I have only had it for 3 days and every once in a while, when I'm playing a game, my monitor makes a strange noise and my entire computer freezes and restarts itself. This has never happened before I installed the 660 Ti so I figured it had something to do with that. The card is running everything completely stock out of the box. I haven't tampered with anything in Afterburner or anything. This is my first mid/highish end card so I'm basically a complete noob when it comes to setting it up. Another problem I was thinking about could be the PSU, but I literally JUST purchased it 1 week ago and everything else seems to be running fine. As I said, I'm a complete noob when it comes to computers so I need all the help I can get. And I don't want to RMA the videocard until I know for sure that that's the problem.
OS: Windows 8 64 bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H 1155 Intel B75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX
Processor: Intel Core i5-3470
Ram: 8 GB (sorry don't know specifics)
GPU: MSi GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC/Power Edition
PSU: Rosewill CAPSTONE Series CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, 80 PLUS GOLD Certified, Single +12V Rail, ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92, SLI Ready, CrossFire Readyyes it could if its sending a very badly scrambled return signal thats creating garbage signals that are looping that are then sent from the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit(on the Graphics card)) to the CPU(Central Processing Unit (Main system processor)) and its causing a malfunction as it can make no sense of it so its shutting down itself to prevent damage and get rid of the BAD DATA its receiving!
just try another Monitor and see if it no longer does the auto shutdown then you know that the Monitor is faulty or if the different one does it too then maybe your Graphics card is Faulty but without testing it out you have no idea which as it could be either! (but the Noise from the monitor is odd and is more likely a monitor that cant handle it as it has a fault) -
MacPro randomly shuts down after upgrading to GTX 660
So I've had the EVGA GTX 285 mac edition in my MacPro 3,1 for a while now and decided to upgrade to the EVGA GTX 660 because I wanted a card that would provide more power for my 3d work and allow more gaming potential when I'm not working. After the upgrade I have been experiencing random shut downs. At first I thought it was during heavy loads (from my 3d software) but yesterday a shut down occured when I was just typing up an email with hardly anything running in the background. I've tried to diagnose the problem but to no avail. I believe the power supply is enough because the older card uses 2 of the power ports inside the MacPro while this new card uses just one. It's not overheating because everything runs at around 30C - 50C (rarely spiking to 58C.) Anyone know what could be the cause? I am working on my Windows partition by the way.
How interesting...we've noticed the same thing on 3 different occasions as recently as this a.m.. My wife was online for school, and the screen suddenly went "almost" black. There was nothing to do but shut down and turn it back on.
In 3 years since we've had this iMac, and running on 10.4, we never had this problem, so we're also hoping the community out there has some input on this issue.
Thanks! -
After installing new GTX 660 TF OC system running slowly and lags in graphic
Hello
I have had some problems with my newly bought MSI GTX 660 TF 2GB OC card.
After install the computer have been very slowly allmost like the driver wasn't there. When I drag a window it show the animation in frames and lag. And this is in windows basic theme. My CPU also have a higher load when performing task than before.
My previous graphic card was: GTX 295
What I have already tried:
1. Remove all existing drivers and using "Driver sweeper" in failsafe mode. Then reinstall the newest driver from Nvidia
2. Tried another PCI-E slot
3. Tried another PCI-E cable for power
4. Reinstalled the drivers once more
5. Format my computer and installed drivers once more
6. Updated my mobo bios
After reading some more i expect the problem could be solved by update my Graphic card Bios as there is a newer bios available.
I have downloaded the bios from the MSI download under the GTX 660 TF OC card.
However I don't know how to flash it. The read-me says this:
Quote
If your card with Hybid bios face the compatible issue, with this NV flash tool, you can flash bios to Legacy bios under DOS solving compatible issue,
You need to execute command as below:
1. First Find the file you download, command as below
cd nvbiosflash
2. Second, flash the bios
nvidia NV287MS222.rom
I understand the commands bit, but how to enter that DOS thing i don't get.
Need to copy all the files to a bootable usb drive?
And then it automatically open this dos state?
Hope you can help med here, never flashed bios on a graphic card before
Best regards
FrederikWell, it is kind of hard to explain. Allmost everything I do is laggy and slowly compared to how it was before I installed the new graphic card.
Most noticeable is when moving with windows. It show the movement in frames. Overall it just behaves like if the drivers isn't working. I have tried with the latest driver and one of the latest beta drivers to see if it had any effect. No changes, still laggy.
To try at show my issue i have uploaded a video on youtube of my screen.
