GTX 750 Ti in Illsutrator - GPU Performance feature - Compatible GPU not found

Hi,
I recently bought a GeForce GTX 750 Ti and was really happy that I could turn on the new "GPU performance" - it really made a difference.
Today I had to reinstall Illustrator (the OS was slow) and now I can't turn on the "GPU performance" feature. It says that "Compatible GPU not found. GPU Performance is disabled"  and "Device: Multiple Graphics Cards detected"
I'm using the latest GeForce driver. I know that the GTX 750 Ti is officially not supported (Seriously!? -  this is also really annoying since older, less powerful cards are on the supported list).
I don't want to buy an other card, but if there is no other option...
Any suggestions?

I have just completed running the entire PPBM8 script with the GTX 750 Ti, and compared it to the results that I had obtained over two weeks ago with the older GTX 560 card.
GTX 750 Ti on CC 2014.8.2 (1TB Samsung F3 as project disk):
GTX 560 on CC 2014.8.1 (1TB Western Digital Black WD1002FAEX as project drive):
It appears that the first-generation Maxwell (GM107) GPU somehow improved the H.264 rendering/encoding performance compared to the older Fermi (GF114) GPU. The MPEG-2 rendering/encoding performance is practically equal with both of these particular GPUs.
Verdict? The GTX 750 Ti is the right choice for a PC that's equipped (however less than ideally) with a higher-end i5 without hyperthreading or a quad-core i7 that cannot be overclocked much if at all (and this is assuming that that PC has a sufficiently fast disk subsystem).
By the way, the GT 740 that was suggested for the OP's system (given the "Green" drives) is not a Maxwell-generation GPU at all - but a Kepler-generation GPU (in this case, based on the GK107) instead. The GT 730 with GDDR5 memory that I recommended as an alternative to the GT 740 DDR3 is based on the GK208 GPU. (And I do not recommend most GT 730s on the market as they are based on an old Fermi-generation GPU - the GF108 that debuted with the GT 430 back in 2010.)

  • GTX 750 Ti sufficient for GPU Acceleration in CC 2014?

    Hi all,
Upgrading from a HD 5870 hopefully - just wanted to know if the GTX 750 Ti with its CUDA technologies would be sufficient for GPU accelerated applications like Pr, Ae, Sg, Ps, Lr and so on? Asking in the Pr forums because that's the application I use the most.
    System specs:
    ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
    Core i5 2500K @ 4.3GHz
    Arctic Cooling Freezer 13
    16GB RipJaws-X 1648MHz
    ATI Sapphire Radeon HD 5870
    OCZ Vertex 4 128GB | WD Green 2TB | WD Green 3TB
    LG BH16NS40 Blu-Ray Burner
    OCZ ZS 650W
    NZXT Lexa S
    Windows 8.1 Pro x64
Not too bothered about gaming performance. I don't want to spend a lot of money and the 750 Ti at around £100 seems a good balance between value for money and performance.
The 5870 did work fine with OpenCL and Adobe CC 2014 but for various reasons I'd like to upgrade and go back to NVIDIA.
    Thanks all

  • Upgrading my HP Pavilion h8-1170uk with a GeForce GTX 750 Ti

    Hi there,
I have reached whits end here, I am looking to upgrade my GeForce GT 545 with a GeForce GTX 750 ti on my HP Pavilion h8-1170uk. I have emailed your support asking for advice and have been told to phone your number although I have explained twice I am deaf.
I asked extremely helpful customer services at NVIDIA who told me my computer would definitely be able to handle the GeForce GTX 750 ti and I even asked on amazon before buying as I really was not sure.
After getting yes all around (apart from HP who just won't get back to me) I bought the card attempted to install it only to find that it needs a double slot at the back of the pc. I had looked at my PC and had thought it had at least four slots (Photos uploaded) as it had 4 areas it seems at the back, one with the original graphics card in and 3 more with metal covers.
After uninstalling the old drivers and attempting to put the graphics card in I found that only two of the four slots seemed to open and those two were not even next to each other, which means that I can not fit the GTX 750 ti inside my computer
even looking at my photos it looks like they should open but they seem to be attached to the rest of the frame. I realised this when the 3rd slot up come out as I expected the other two to come out but honestly they are just welded in! The shinier metal strips that you see over them do come off but to no avail.
I have to admit I am at the end of my teather and really fearing I have made a huge mistake in buying the wrong card. The slots that do not seem to open have what appears to be a screw driver symbol on the back of them which I must of assumed meant you could get them off with a screw driver. I now guess the screw drive symbol means you can not get them off with a screwdriver? whcih just does not seem right at all.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!
    Regards

    Hi,
Your first issue is that most NVIDIA GTX 750 graphics cards will not work in your PC.  MSI does have a couple of models of the GTX 750 graphics card that may work.
Most if not all graphics cards that I have worked with are designed to fit around the the back slot separator I/O vertical strip.  Review this posted article for the view of a double wide graphics card.  The slotted plate in the middle is easily removed by inserting a flat bladed screwed and wiggling it back and worth until the removable plate becomes loose enough where you can use a pliers to finish the remove process.  The shield is designed to "break off".

  • GPU Upgrade for Compaq CQ5320Y running Phenom II 955 and Narra-6 MOB: Radeon R7 265 or GTX 750 ti?

I'm on a quest to upgrade my older CQ5320Y as far as I can go without ditching the case and mob.   I've upgraded the ram to 8 gb, upgraded the CPU from Athlon II 240 60w to Phenom II 955 95w (with better cooler), upgraded the PSU to a Corsair CX600M.   Now for the GPU.   I was looking at the Geforce GTX 750 ti with the low power Maxell architecture, but have heard it will not run with older HP Compaq mATX desktops running less than the v.8 bios UNLESS you get the MSI version that has a switch to run on legacy bios.  Is it the Maxwell architecture that is the problem?
What about the Radeon R7 265?   It draws double the power, but is faster.  Will it run?   What about the older GTX 650 ti gpu's?   Different architecture than the 750's, will they run?

I'm afraid we may be talking at cross purposes here.
As to the PSU -   I bought one that was way over my anticipated needs because I haven't bought a GPU yet.  I knew I had only a shrimpy 250.  Then I upgraded the processor and its cooler.   I didn't know how much more I would further tax a new PSU with a GPU since the ones I am looking at ranged from 60 to 180 W, with the modern, more preferrable 60W ones having known problems with the old HP/CPQ BIOS, perhaps forcing me to get an older hotter card, some which draw at least 20a or they won't run.
Sure, with only one video card I could probably get away with 400 or 450, but in any event, having more on tap is not a problem and cost was neglible between sizes anyway.  Of course, everybody would like lower power consumption if they can get it, but my point was the old Bios issue (which I can't change) may force me into a power hungry GPU, which in turn necessitates a bigger PSU.
    Does that clear it up?
As to the memory, you can keep reading off of your spec chart if you want, but I'm telling you that it is a 64 bit system and your own snippet says "A 64-bit OS is requred to address more than 4.0 gb".   It has two PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 4 gb cards installed and the system recognizes them.   I tried to uplink a jpg screenshot of the system properties screen, showing that the system recognized all 8 gb's, but the forum poster rejected it for some reason.
In any event, it's beside the point of my original question, which was, "Will I have bios problems with the older cards I cited like with the 750 ti known to have problems?"

I just checked the specs of the single fan.
They both have the same requirement of recommended PSU Watts and power consumption.
I already sent an email the ebay seller and asked about the Switch(Hybrid and legacy) , Power connector and if the card will run on a 300watt PSU for the power consumtion is very low.

  • Is the GeForce GTX 960 worth the extra cost over the GTX 750 Ti?

Today I acquired an eVGA GeForce 960 FTW card with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM to test against my main PC's existing GeForce GTX 750 Ti (also with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM).
    But first, here's my impetus:
Despite the fact that the GTX 750 Ti was newer than my now-sold GTX 660, I felt that the GTX 750 Ti was a sizable downgrade from the GTX 660 in some ways, and equal to the GTX 660 in others. In particular, the results of the GTX 750 Ti during the encoding test from the PPBM8 MPEG-2 DVD timeline was nearly 30 percent slower than the GTX 660 (50 seconds versus 36 seconds) - but in the encoding test from the H.264 Blu-ray timeline, the two cards were practically equal in performance (at about 135 seconds).
And today, when I shopped for an eVGA GTX 960, I found four different models: The Superclocked edition (slightly overclocked but with the reference NVidia blower-type cooler), the ACX 2.0 (upgraded cooler but only reference GPU and memory clocks), the SSC edition (overclocked to 1279 MHz on the GPU, with the ACX 2.0 cooler) and the FTW edition (ACX 2.0 cooler, overclocked to 1304 MHz). All the listed clock speeds are the non-Turbo clocks.
    Back to my purchase:
At my local chain big-box store, the FTW edition sells for $220 - but another big-box store wants $230 for the SSC edition.
I brought home the FTW edition, and installed it into my i7-4790K main rig. The CPU is set to its default Turbo clocks while the system's DDR3-1600 RAM is set to run at its XMP profile.
Here are the MPEG-2 DVD and H.264 Blu-ray scores with both cards:
    MPEG-2 DVD (MPE On)
MSI GTX 750 Ti OC Edition: 50 seconds
eVGA GTX 960 FTW Edition: 44 seconds
    H.264 Blu-ray (MPE On)
MSI GTX 750 Ti OC Edition: 135 seconds
eVGA GTX 960 FTW Edition: 114 seconds
As one can see, the GTX 960 is 13.6 to 18.4 percent faster than the GTX 750 Ti. However, while my GTX 750 Ti cost $155 (and still costs that much at the big box store I went to earlier in the day - the one that sells the GTX 960 SSC for $230), is the FTW edition of the GTX 960 worth the extra $65? Well, that depends on which GTX 750 Ti and which GTX 960 that you might be considering for a PC based on a mainstream quad-core Intel platform.
So, based on the particular results that I posted in this post, do you think that the GTX 960 is worth the extra bucks over the GTX 750 Ti? I would love to hear/see your opinion(s).

    Randall,
While I certainly value the PPBM6 benchmark to compare various hardware and configuration settings, the GPU performance that is most important to me is simply playing back timelines smoothly with playback set for full resolution (vs. 1/2, 1/4, etc.) and scrubbing with the upmost in responsiveness. It may be difficult to measure playback smoothness, but you can use the dropped frame counter to compare various hardware.
If playback is smooth and I can scrub my timelines effortlessly, then how fast it takes to render a finished project out just really doesn't matter that much.
Even though you are mostly working with 1080 resolution media now, it may not hurt to try some more difficult media as well (aka RED 4k, PPBM H.264 timeline, etc.)
    Regards,
    Jim

  • 3D in CS6 extended is not showing up on my computer with a geforce gtx 750 ti on windows 7 home premium

Like I said the 3d menu is not showing up on photoshop cs6 extended edition my specs are the following:
CPU- Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz dual core
GPU- EVGA Nvidia geforce gtx 750 ti 2GBs DDR5
    RAM- 8GBs DDR3
    OS- Windows 7 home premium
if you need more specs than that just ask
It's not an issue with my photoshop version because I downloaded it to my brother's computer (much weaker than mine) and it ran with 3d
    Please help.

Update your graphics driver or use an older version that does not use CUDA 6.0 and uses 5.0 so PS can detect it properly...

  • MSI GTX 750 TI OC 2GB Compatibility

Hello. Today i decided to update my GPU to a GTX 750 TI OC 2 GB from MSI. I checked it's requirements. I fulfill them, except the MB. My MB is a BIOSTAR G31-M7 TE with a G31 chipset (compatible only with PCIe X16 1.1). Is there any chance to run this GPU with my MB or i need to upgrade it? Here are the rest of my PC specs:
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 @ 2.92 GHz;
    GPU(current): Intel G33/G31 256 MB;
PSU: custom, from my PC vendor (maybe Logitech) ATX-450W
    MB: Biostar G31-M7 TE (BIOS update from 2010);
    RAM: 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz;
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition SP1.
Should i buy this card? Will it run using a 17 inch Monitor (MAG, VGA monitor)? Thanks in advance for all replies.

    Let's see:
That's the minimum for most today's games:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/configurator/intel-celeron-value-hardware-bundle-ready-to-ship-vb10i
Stock cooler is fine if not overclocking, dual core CPU is also good enough (could upgrade to Intel Pentium K for OC if would like to). That's the parts set I suggest.
And add some GTX650Ti or 750Ti. And new PSU: Corsair/Seasonic/Antec 400W or above and good to go.
Thank you so much for your advice and also for your patience (I'm asking many questions because I want to be sure).

  • GTX 750 compatibility

    Hi!
Im new here and i have a question for you.
I need some help because im not sure that my motherboard (ASR G41C-GS) is compatible with MSI GTX 750. My MB has one PCI-e 1.1 16x slot and this GPU has a PCI-e 3.0. Will this GPU even work with my MB and if yes, will it bottleneck a lot? I know my PC is a bit outdated and i plan on getting motherboard and CPU replaced in near future. But since my last GPU died, i need a new one and cant rly afford to buy a new PC right now.
    If u guys need any more specs about my PC(CPU: C2D E6750 OC(3.2GHz), PSU(Antec 620W)...).

PCI-E compatibility (1.1 -> 3.0) is no issue with nvidia cards. None the less if using a current generation vga on a very old mainboard no one can give you a guarantee of this combo being compatible. There aren't any new card cards tested and verified on mobos of that age so it is a matter of luck. Theoretically it should work but one never knows.

  • MSI Geforce GTX 750 Ti won't install on HP Pavillion

hello. i tried to install my MSI Geforce GTX 750 Ti into my HP Pavilion p7-1045.
the computer just freezes at the blue HP screen and starts beeping 5 times, and shuts off. power was not an issue either, since i sucessfully replaced my 250w power supply with a 600w. the power supply i upgraded my PC with was a RAIDMAX Cobra 600w Power Supply.
i tried to update my BIOS, but it didn't work. i tried using the hybrid bios switch, but that didn't work either.
    any help would be appreciated

Quote from: flobelix on 19-January-15, 06:18:59
The bios of that old HP machine just includes an ME7 firmware but using a GTX7xx or later requires an ME8 firmware including bios. As you are not the first with such machine here it's a pretty sure thing that there is no update available. Still you can contact HP about it. Most likely though you can't use the card with that machine. It is not a matter of UEFI/GOP or legacy vbios.
i see... well, i have already contacted HP and they said there is nothing that can be done about it. i guess i will have to return the GPU....
looks like i should get a graphics card compatible with ME7 firmware. do you have any suggestions?

  • H8-1070uk upgrading to GTX 750 Ti

Hi, I believe the GTX 750 Ti is well within the PSU requirements I have but I am having issues. The PC will NOT go past POST, I install the card and get the POST info up, so I have video output. But I can not get by POST. after about 30-40 sec I get a single beep. Then a further 30-40 sec another single beep. After 30 sec again I get 3 or 4 beeps and the video output goes off... I have updated the latest BIOS AMI 7.12 with the new card installed I can not access the BIOS settings either.... Can some one help?

I'm having the same issue when trying to instal a gtx 730.  PC boots to hp splash screen and freezes. HP support is worthless.  It is worse than a bad joke.  One agent told me... "Your board comes with onboard video installed, we do not support add in cards. " My reply was... My board come with a PCI-E 16x 2.0 socket, do you support THAT?  His reply was "Your board comes with onboard video installed, we do not support add in cards. " The ONLY reason I purchased this HP machine was because it has a PCI-E socket.   With an i5 3.0 gig quad core processor and 8 gigs of 13333 DDR3 ram, the system is well in range of the games I play, except for the video.  First thing I did was replace the 300w power supply with a 600w power supply. (old psu didnt have the required 6 pin connector to make the gpu card work)  My GTS 450 worked great, but now with upgrades to the game content and files, I need something more powerful.  Both HP support and Nvidia support told me to update the system bios.  Now since this bios update is 3 years old, it may not even work.  HP does NOT support products that it has sold.  They have the attitude.. "We already have your money... so F OFF" I have some really old computers that i sometimes use, as in over 10 years old, but if i go to get a bios update, you can be sure asus, and acer and ambibios have new files.  THEY support what they have sold.   So apparently, what I am looking at now, to do a simple video card upgrade is: Purchase a new case (since the HP case port hole are slightly off from industry standard)  (apparently they want you to replace the motherboard with theirs, but not upgrade it) Next I have to purchase a new ATX motherboard with socket 1255 and RAM supportthenPurchase the new video card (I'll probably go with a 970)  Simply put, to do a simple task (easily done in every other PC (excluding HP and DELL) I essentially have to rebuild the entire PC and salvage the processor , ram, optical and hard drives.  Would I ever buy another HP computer?  Not a bloody chance.  Would I make a recommendation about HP computers?  YES... I would recommend leaving the junk sitting where it is and going with Acer or another brand.

  • Upgraded to GTX 750 ti - Will not boot

    I have a ENVY 700-209
I've just swapped out the graphics card and added a gtx 750 ti
The computer will not boot and goes to automatic repair.
I've also added a blu ray drive.

The HP 700-209 has win8. It operates under strict UEFI BIOS control called Secure Boot. It protects the computer. Call the manufacturer of that card to determine if the card operates under UEFI or legacy BIOS. After that,  you'll have to disable secure boot and then deal with the "legacy" issue.

  • Upgrading Graphic Card (GTX 750 Ti Gaming OC Edition 2048MB) in HP Pavilion p6-2083sc Desktop PC

Hello, This is my computer before upgrading / out of the box Link to specs I bought new graphic card (GTX 750 Ti Gaming OC Edition 2048MB) today. With that I also bought new power supply (Corsair CX600M). I installed them and tried to boot my computer. My computer won't go very far. It shows me the HP starting screen. Then my computer "beeps" one time, then another and then third time. Then I got black screen with blinking underscore. I'm not able to enter bios at that point either, because the computer won't response to my keyboard. No matter what I press nothing happens. I tried to reset motherboard's CMOS (upluggin battery and then putting it back) but it had no effects. I don't know what to do, but the problem is definetaly with the GPU somehow. I changed the old GPU back and left new power supply in place and my computer works well with that setup. Some people from the internet claims that HP might have somehow locked the motherboard so that I'm not able to upgrade my GPU. Is that true or is there something else I need to do? Thank you in advance Best regerdsKivikall

Hello,Firstly, the GTX 750ti officially requires no 6-pin power connector, with a peak power consumption of just 60 watts. (PCI lane can provide 75watts max). reference:http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-750-ti/specifications I have exactly the same problem as you, except with a different video card. The problem is with the new 700 series from nvidia. They only work on motherboards which support UEFI, which is a new type of BIOS, but unfortunately do not support the traditional BIOS. The only way (to the best of my knowledge) is to update your BIOS. However, I checked your system on HP drivers, and unfortunately the are no BIOS updates which would upgrade to UEFI support, which is exactly my situation. The only other solution to buy an equivalent graphics from the 600 series, which supports traditional BIOS. I would recommend this: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX650E2GD5/ If you do choose to get the GTX 650, make sure you specifically get this one, as its the only card which would work with your power supply. Any others would use too much power for your computer to handle. I really think that Nvidia should issue a notice to warn people with older PCs not to buy the new series of cards, as my new card costed quite a lot and didn't work in the end. I am now looking to get the same card which I recommended to you. Best regards

    Hi Ken,
Look aon the top back of the graphics card for a switch.  See the below image.
You should have received a pamphlet in the box describing the use of the switch (legacy mode or UEFI mode).  If your PC has a version 8 HP BIOS then disable secure boot if set. If your PC is not at a version 8 BIOS level then the switch should be in legacy position.  The pamphlet should describe the use of the switch.

I understand that you are looking to upgrade the GPU on your desktop computer, and I would be happy to assist you!
According to the Product Specifications of the graphics card, the connection Bus Support needed to function is with a PCI-E 3.0 x16 connection. Unfortunately, your desktop's motherboard's Bus Support connects with PCI Express x16 (generation 1.0) cards.
    I hope this helps!
