GTX 750 Ti sufficient for GPU Acceleration in CC 2014?

Hi all,
Upgrading from a HD 5870 hopefully - just wanted to know if the GTX 750 Ti with its CUDA technologies would be sufficient for GPU accelerated applications like Pr, Ae, Sg, Ps, Lr and so on? Asking in the Pr forums because that's the application I use the most.
System specs:
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
Core i5 2500K @ 4.3GHz
Arctic Cooling Freezer 13
16GB RipJaws-X 1648MHz
ATI Sapphire Radeon HD 5870
OCZ Vertex 4 128GB | WD Green 2TB | WD Green 3TB

Windows 8.1 Pro x64
Not too bothered about gaming performance. I don't want to spend a lot of money and the 750 Ti at around £100 seems a good balance between value for money and performance.
The 5870 did work fine with OpenCL and Adobe CC 2014 but for various reasons I'd like to upgrade and go back to NVIDIA.

I have just completed running the entire PPBM8 script with the GTX 750 Ti, and compared it to the results that I had obtained over two weeks ago with the older GTX 560 card.
GTX 750 Ti on CC 2014.8.2 (1TB Samsung F3 as project disk):
GTX 560 on CC 2014.8.1 (1TB Western Digital Black WD1002FAEX as project drive):
It appears that the first-generation Maxwell (GM107) GPU somehow improved the H.264 rendering/encoding performance compared to the older Fermi (GF114) GPU. The MPEG-2 rendering/encoding performance is practically equal with both of these particular GPUs.
Verdict? The GTX 750 Ti is the right choice for a PC that's equipped (however less than ideally) with a higher-end i5 without hyperthreading or a quad-core i7 that cannot be overclocked much if at all (and this is assuming that that PC has a sufficiently fast disk subsystem).
By the way, the GT 740 that was suggested for the OP's system (given the "Green" drives) is not a Maxwell-generation GPU at all - but a Kepler-generation GPU (in this case, based on the GK107) instead. The GT 730 with GDDR5 memory that I recommended as an alternative to the GT 740 DDR3 is based on the GK208 GPU. (And I do not recommend most GT 730s on the market as they are based on an old Fermi-generation GPU - the GF108 that debuted with the GT 430 back in 2010.)

In the system requirements under "Supported NVIDIA graphics cards for GPU acceleration" are the following graphics cards listed:
     GeForce GTX285
     GeForce GTX470
why are only these two GeForce Cards supported?
Why are the other NVIDIA cards like
     GTX460
     GTX480
     GTX560
     GTX570
     GTX580
not listed?
What about support of SLI configuration?
What is better, a 2 x GTX470 configuration or a single GTX580 ?

The guys at Studio One did some tests and wrote this interesting article:

It seems that the RAM speed (DDR5 v/s DDR3) is more relevant than any other factor...
The GTX 470 has more cuda cores than a lot of the more expensive cards... go figure?!

Supported GPUs for GPU Acceleration

Hello,
I had a quick question about the compatability of some GPUs with Premiere Pro. I'm looking into buying a system with a "nVidia GeForce GTX 760M". This card is not listed under the supported GPUs for acceleration, although it does support both CUDA and OpenCL. So my question is, will I have any problems using this GPU for GPU acceleration? I'm not sure why it wouldn't be supported by Premiere.
Any help is appriciated.

Virtually any nVidia with a minimum of 1Gig of video ram will work... Adobe has limited time to test & certify cards

GTX 750 Ti in Illsutrator - GPU Performance feature - Compatible GPU not found

Hi,
I recently bought a GeForce GTX 750 Ti and was really happy that I could turn on the new "GPU performance" - it really made a difference.
Today I had to reinstall Illustrator (the OS was slow) and now I can't turn on the "GPU performance" feature. It says that "Compatible GPU not found. GPU Performance is disabled" and "Device: Multiple Graphics Cards detected"
I'm using the latest GeForce driver. I know that the GTX 750 Ti is officially not supported (Seriously!? - this is also really annoying since older, less powerful cards are on the supported list).
I don't want to buy an other card, but if there is no other option...
Any suggestions?

Problem is I could not find any of GTX series neither in Sarajevo nor in İstanbul. There is only GTX 560 from Asus. It is almost $260. So, if I buy this card, will it accelerate my GPU for pure HD video editing ? I believe it can but it is not in the list.

Look here: Benchmark Results and see comparable systems at rank 476 and 477 out of 492 today. That is why I said the system is underpowered and the only way to solve it is by getting a new system.

MSI GTX 750 Ti upgrade for a "hpe-521 it" model

I would like to upgrade my desktop video card to a GTX 750 Ti.

I have bought an ASUS card (OC GTX 750 Ti) but I failed to get it working on my computer, even after upgrading the bios to the 7.15 ami version.
I have a problem similar to many other reported on this very forum, I get stuck to the screen logo (interestingly, the video seems to work, so again I think there is no problem of hardware compatibility between mobo, power supply and video card) the computer beeps several times and then the video card get powered off.
The problem seems to be the UEFI, not fully supported in the HP BIOS of my model, and so buying the MSI model of the card should be a viable solution:

The HPE-521it doesn't have the HP version 8 BIOS which many of the newer graphics cards require for compatibility and functionality.
The threads that you referenced do contain specific MSI NVIDIA GTX 750 models that offer you the best chance for using the NVIDIA GTX 750. If you search this forum you should find others that have reported success with using these specific MSI GTX 750 graphics cards.

Nvidia or Radeon for Photoshop CS5/6 for GPU acceleration

Hi there-
Im buying a new videocard for my photoshop PC, and Im trying to figure out if Photoshop supports GPU acceleration on both Nvida and Radeon cards. Ive heard in the past that it only supported CUDA (Nvidia). I currently use CS5, but will update to CS6 at some point.

From a pure quality perspective - and you should know I develop OpenGL graphics software myself - I find ATI/AMD's display drivers to be more consistently of good quality. Both companies flub driver releases occasionally, as they focus primarily on computer game development, but ATI seems to deliver "golden" versions, which just work right with Adobe products, more often. I have had to work around problems in display drivers from nVidia more often.
Also note that Photoshop and company tend to prefer single video cards, rather than dual/multiple GPU arrangements sometimes found inside certain video cards, or creatable by the user by buying multiple cards. Many modern video cards can support multiple monitors on a single GPU.
If you do choose one or the other video card, also keep in mind you'll want to make sure you don't push your computer's power supply past its design limits. I like the ATI x670 line (e.g., the current VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5) because it balances power consumption against GPU performance, and doesn't emit "on the runway" fan sounds. Don't get me wrong, these cards are plenty fast, but they don't even require a separate power connector.

When will adobe support the G700 & G500 for GPU accelerated processing?

when i bought my new mac pro trashcan mac told me that their graphics cards were supported so i plunked down my $10k and waited for a month for it to come in the mail. I was working just fine using what seemed to be GPU acceleration, but then (as you know) it stopped working.
what's going on and when can i expect this to be resolved? if never, then i need to switch to a pc where i can buy the cards that adobe supports!

Camera Raw 7 Speed - Can We Hope for GPU Acceleration?

Photoshop CS6 in general in my environment seems about as fast as CS5 and better in some ways, but Camera Raw 7 is slower than Camera Raw 6.6. This is not unexpected, given that the process is more sophisticated, but my question is this:
Now that we see that Photoshop in general, with the MPE, is able to use OpenCL on capable GPUs, will we be seeing Camera Raw make use of OpenCL to achieve faster screen updates, and ultimately faster overall conversions in the near future? In a 7.x update perhaps?

Hey, I could have just quietly dropped back to 7.0 and just have my own images be superior to those made by those using 7.1, but no - I chose to try to help Adobe by pointing out a problem to them here.
When I reported this problem during the beta, I was clearly ignored. When I reported it again after the release, I was argued-with.
I don't need to be argued-with nor reasoned-with - Adobe needs to listen to people who know what they're talking about. People not blindly praising the emperor's new clothes.
I don't need nor expect appreciation, but I had thought I might have earned enough respect around here that Adobe's first response wouldn't be "choose different settings, stupid".
An output image quality problem should be a release show-stopper. Experts like me and Vit telling Adobe that their latest color fringing reduction changes aren't working well enough should be considered seriously. Instead, it's just business as usual: Release whatever's in the pipeline.
Adobe's dropping quality standards are something I find myself wanting less and less to be associated with each passing day.
Just typing this message took me longer than it should have, because of this bogus forum software.

Does the new gpu acceleration in illustrator not support the GTX 750ti?

We have a brand new computer with a Nvidia GTX 750ti in it but we can't get Illustrator to recognize it for GPU acceleration.

Nvidia GTX 750ti is supported.
Illustrator currently support single GPU card with upto 2 displays connected. Could you please check if you are using more than two displays or more than one GPU driver/card?

New Nvidia Graphics Cards for Premiere GPU Acceleration

Hi! I'm looking for a new laptop. Under the list of the cards usesd for GPU Acceleration in Premiere (http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/tech-specs.edu.html), none of the new GTX 700m's are listed. Is the list of acceptable GPUs out of date and the 700s do work, or do the 700s really not work? Thanks!

For Premiere Pro CC we made some chnages to our GPU support. See this post by Al Mooney.
Also, some customers may be aware that in the past there was a not-so-secret way of enabling non-supported GPUs by the ‘hacking’ or removal of a text file. This is no longer necessary in Premiere Pro CC. As long as you have a reasonably modern card with at least 1GB of VRAM, you will still be able to enable that card in the Project Settings dialog. A warning message will appear letting you know that your card has not been certified by Adobe, but once that dialog is clicked through you can use your GPU. The team does try to certify as many GPUs as possible, but we can’t test everything, so this is a way to let you decide if you’re happy using an untested configuration.

I am ready to invest in a GPU accelerated graphics card that will speed up playback and use the Mercury Playback Engine in GPU mode.
From what I could find on the Adobe site, these are the cards that are supported for Premiere Pro CS5

So... before I go out and spend $650 on a GeForce GTX 680, it is this simple to make it work in CS5?
Yes.
(1) Make sure the card has at least 1GB of VRAM (which the GTX 680 has).
(2) Edit the cuda_supported_cards.txt to add one line: GeForce GTX 680 (starting in column 1)
(3) Install the card?
Do step 3 before step 2.
Also, you can simply delete the cuda_supported_cards.txt file
and achieve the same result.
Will Premiere Pro recognize that I have the card and immediately take advantage of the GPU capabilities, or do I have to change options?
You will need to specify:
"MPE GPU Acceleration" in your Project Settings:
If you do not have a supported card (or have not applied the hack),
this option will be greyed out.

Intel Haswell GPU acceleration in CC?

Has anyone tried Intel Haswell integrated graphics chips for GPU acceleration in Adobe Premiere Pro CC? If so: cigar? No cigar?
(I realize Haswell is neither supported nor is anywhere in the same performance bracket with discrete desktop GPUs from AMD and NVidia, and clearly isn't going to make you return your GTX-Titan. Just curious if GPU acceleration is at all possible given Haswell's hardware support for OpenCL and other neat tricks.)

Premiere Pro CC cannot use Intel graphics for hardware acceleration.
Guess things change pretty fast in Adobe town...

New graphic card EVGA Geforce gtx 750 ti failing on HP pavilion H8-1114

I just bought new EVGA Geforce GTX 750 ti SuperClocked for my HP pavilion H8-1114 and when I replaced the old GPU wich is GT 520 with the new one, but it dosn't work and the screen freez with the blue HP screen and beeps sound many times.

The exact same problem that I have but my HP desktop is a one year newer than his, so the question is if I do the same thing that sugested to him will be solved? if not would you mind please solve the problem for me. Because I believe there is no issue with my PC hardware and it should work fine.

Hi Ken,
Look aon the top back of the graphics card for a switch. See the below image.
You should have received a pamphlet in the box describing the use of the switch (legacy mode or UEFI mode). If your PC has a version 8 HP BIOS then disable secure boot if set. If your PC is not at a version 8 BIOS level then the switch should be in legacy position. The pamphlet should describe the use of the switch.

GPU Acceleration in Lightroom CC

As you can see, I havn't seen much details about the actual use case of OpenGL/OpenCL acceleration in Lightroom. I assume now Adobe name Lightroom "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" now, does that mean Lightroom is using the same kind of engine? I would think the new photo merge function would be a good candidate for GPU acceleration given some use case like panorama or large pixel image rotation could be quite heavy duty. Does anyone know where to find these under the hood details?
Having this said, I wonder what is the official graphics card vendor Adobe would recommend? Perhaps nVidia?

You can also install an "old" version from april 2014 (V 14.4) which works with Lr6 after having un-installed your actual actual drivers.

Be aware that with this driver you could activate the GPU Acceleration but it's possible that you didn't obtain any benefit...bug or not nobody knows...
