GTX 760 (N760 TF 2GD5/OC ) unstable at stock settings. (Does MSI cross ship?

I recently purchased a GTX 760 TF
N760 TF 2GD5/OC
At stock settings, it is unstable, for example, running unigine heaven 4.0 will cause the card to reset in a way where it gets locked at around 500MHz. Nvidia cards do this when the GPU is unstable.
if the card is set to the slower silent mode, then it is stable, and does not crash.
If the stock settings are used 1020MHz, the card videocard will crash after around 40 minutes.
If the card is set to OC mode, then it will crash anywhere from 1 minutes, to 10 minutes.
if the card is set to the OS mode speeds, and the voltage is set to +12mv, then it can sometimes go a good 20 minutes+ before crashing.
Overall, the videocard is unstable at anything above the reference speeds
Related system specs are
Phenom II x6 1075T
12GB DDR3 1600
Motherboard: gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
Power supply: thermaltake SP-750PCBUS 750 watt
All voltage rails are stable during gaming and benchmarking.
The store I purchased it from no longer has it in stock so an RMA with them will not work in a reasonable amount of time if I want a replacement.
I don't want to be without the card for an entire month, so I was wondering, does MSI offer any kind of cross shipment or any other method to speed an RMA process.
gpu-z showing the stock settings of the card

Same issue happened on both of my computers.
second PC has a MSI 870A-G54 motherboard and a AMD phenon II x4 965 (underclocked to keep the system quiet for home theater use)
I am pretty much swapping in my GTX 460 for now.
When mailing the videocard in, do I use the original box?  also, would it impact the warranty if the UPC section was cut out of the box to be mailed in for the rebate that MSI had going for the card?
another weird issue I noticed, if I run a game that causes the card to go up to 1019 MHz and not clock higher (e.g., running audiosurf and twitch streaming, the card will crash more quickly than if the card is loaded up enough to jump to 1123MHz at 1.2V
anyway it looks like this card in only stable at nvidia reference speeds
At reference speeds, it can handle a full work load, even run unigine and bitcoin mine (useful stability test) at the same time without crashing where at any other speed, you are looking at a crash in under 1 minute.

  • GTX 760 N760-TF-2GD5-OC PhysX and Cuda Not Detected

I have done google search after google search, but I've yet to find any info on my problem.
I recently acquired an MSI GTX 760 OC from Newegg, and of course right away put it in my rig and installed Geforce Experience. Drivers were automatically downloaded, and all seemed well. At least, until I opened GPU-Z. OpenCL, CUDA, and PhysX were not checked. At first I didn't think anything about it because I've had similar issues with GPU-Z in the past with my old HD Radeon 6750, but when I opened up AC4, the PhysX option wasn't anywhere to be found. And I did download the patch, so that wasn't the issue.
Next I ran BOINC, which also did not detect a GPU capable of running calculations, which of course the GTX 760 is. So somehow, the PhysX/CUDA installation went wrong.
I re-downloaded the driver suite outside of Geforce Experience in case that was where the fault was, but even after uninstalling and re-installing the drivers several times, PhysX and CUDA refused to check themselves on GPU-Z. I even ran my machine in safe mode and used Driver Sweeper, but no avail.
It does appear that PhysX isn't un-installing itself properly, because every time I run the driver installation program, PhysX always shows up as being installed. I have manually deleted the folders, so there aren't any actual PhysX files on my PC anymore. I figured that the problem lies in the registry perhaps, but Auslogics Registry Cleaner hasn't turned up any errors so far.
Any help would be great; I've sent a ticket in to MSI, but since it is a weekend I'm not expecting a response until Monday. I go back to college on Monday, so I'd like to get this fixed sooner rather than later
    My specs:
    Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
    i5 2500K SB @4.6GHz
    8GB DDR3 in Dual Channel
2 HDD (old ones lol) in AHCI mode
    mobo is an MSI Z68A-GD55-B3
    Thanks again for the help.

An OS reinstall would be an absolute last ditch there-is-nothing-else-you-can-do option for me, because backing up my HDD is almost impossible in my situation.
Would a System Restore to a point earlier than the original install of the graphics card perform a similar function to the uninstall? Assuming I did something dumb in the installation or something went wrong in the original driver download.

  • Problems After Installing MSI GTX 760 n760-2gd5/oc

I had previously bought the MSI GTX 750TI, but decided after a week to return it to get the more powerful MSI GTX 760 card. The 750 had worked without issue with my system when I returned it.
I installed the 760, and have had nothing but issues. Afterabout 2 minutes, everything locks up and I basically have to restart. The only way I can get anything done is in safe mode. I looked everywhere, installed multiple drive cleaning programs, installed the drivers, re-installed the drivers, to no avail. I downloaded the latest beta drivers from NVIDIA as well, didnt work.
My PSU supposedly has more than enough power (48A@12V) and I have connected the 2 6-pin connections from it to the card, I didnt need to use the adapters that came with the card.
Everywhere I have looked, my system meets any sort of standards to use this card.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
    My build:
     CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI B85M-G43 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
     Memory: Crucial Ballistix 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Western Digital WD Blue 500GB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master N400 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Cooler Master i600 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

You;re saying that you've used different "driver cleaners" in order to make proper installation. Can you, for me please, use DriverFusion (free is enough) in SAFE MODE and remove the drivers?
Then without the card inserted and powered, run the PC and see how it goes. Then reinstall it (make sure it's properly seated and power supply cables are also nicely fit in) and run it.
    * Your motherboard supports up to 1600mhz RAM speed. Please downgrade yours in BIOS down to 1600 or 1333 (you WON"T notice any speed difference) but this might have been also an issue with newer/higher range graphics card. Also, is the RAM stick seated in the socket recommended by the manual? I believe it should be 2nd closest to the CPU socket.

  • MSI GTX570 TwinFrozr III Power Edition: Unstable at stock settings | SPLIT

    Hello,
Same problem with my card also same model GTX 570 Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC not stable at stock clocks 770/4000 (artifacts on 3DMark 11)
I even plan do not OC it and stay on default clocks for now, but today I start bechmarks and notice only in 3DMark 11 artifacts (red sqares/dots) in others benchmarks I don't noticed any, or in games.
I bought it 3 days ago and I thinking to exchange it for another, what are you think is worth ? or could you here help me somehow ? I see is possible to upgrade new updated bios with higher voltage.
Is it 100% safe to flash this in Windows 7 64bit ?
I don't know how to check which voltage is enough for stock clocks ? Is that cards was not tested before they go to market ?
As I know I have to increase the voltage by MSI Afterburner Core Voltage (mV) a little and checking stability/artifacts ?
I checked orginal default voltage VDDC in GPU-Z and is 0,9120V at idle, and 0,9880V at stress.

I rec video how it's work on default
You think other one should be good ? or maybe all of this cards are not stable on defaults voltage/clocks
Not for all, it should work as is.
Eventually can be fixed with bios update, with voltage bump
So either try bump the voltage until it makes stable then i can make a bios for you,
    or rma it

  • MSI GTX570 TwinFrozr III Power Edition: Unstable at stock settings

    Hello,
This is a continuation of this thread:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=148321.0
But to summarize the issue, the card is not stable at stock speeds of 770 core, 1540 shader, 2000 memory.
The stock voltage on this card is 0.962 and may have not been quality tested enough at the factory.  With my testing I found that the voltage needed for stability at these stock values is +68 to core voltage in Afterburner (1.031v).  I used OCCT 15 minute stress test to verify there were no errors.  Anything under 1.031v showed errors at auto fan speeds.
I was told by Henry that I should request a modified vbios from Svet.  I am experienced enough to flash the video card, but I want to know if this will void my warranty.
Again, this card is wonderful and overclocks very well, the only problem is that it isn't stable at stock and if I were to ever sell the card to someone who is not experienced enough to over volt or overclock, this card would be assumed as defective.

    Thanks Svet,
I sent you my S/N.  Yes, 1.031v seems perfectly stable for stock with auto fan.  I am testing one more time to be certain and so far it seems fine.
Also, a question that was never answered.  If I flash the bios with the one that you supply, I am still under warranty, correct?

No, I'm using all kinds of MSI vgas for more than 10 years and have never seen anything like the pic in that thread. It's something the user did physically to this card as that doesn't happen just after time.

  • N760 TF 2GD5/OC (GeForce GTX 760 GAMING) fan headers

    Hello,
I have two  N760 TF 2GD5/OC graphics cards from MSI.
I am no satisfied with the temperatures my cards reach when i do some graphics intensive games or rendering.
This is why i plan on removing the stock cooler (yes i know this voids warranty) and mounting an NZXT Kraken G10 combined with a fractal design 92mm fan and a Corsair H90 watercooling unit to both cards.
Basically i first need to know two things i cannot seem to find on the internet by myself:
-Does my MSI 760 twin frozr gaming have 1 or 2 fan headers? because there are two fans on the stock cooling.
-Is this a card made by Nvidia reference design? and if not, will my Kraken G10 still attach to the card.
I have already purchased the items because they were all on sale, but i am hesitant to void my warranty before i am sure that it will all work out.
If anyone can help my i would be very thankfull.
    Best regards,
    Noud Frenken

There is just one fan header (PWM controlled).

No, the card is not in Nvidia reference design. It is MSI custom design and most likely based on GTX770 board design. As the Kraken G10 is a gpu only but no full cover cooler (hence it is comaptible with many card models) it should fit fine.

To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash.

  • [Request] UEFI / GOP Vbios for MSI GTX 760 TF 2GD5/OC in SLI

    Hi
I would like an updated Vbios that supports UEFI / Gop for my GTX 760 TF 2GD5/OC cards running in SLI.
The Serial numbers are slightly different for each card.
Card 1 is S/N: 602-V284-72SB1403117327 and the link to it's Vbios is: https_//onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=404D43D84868F470!605&authkey=!AHqdnuXibqAazQs&ithint=file%2c.rom
Card 2 is S/N: 602-V284-72SB1403117393 and the link is: https_//onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=404D43D84868F470!606&authkey=!AKQWmJIzGcqlUSI&ithint=file%2c.rom
Is there any additional steps I will need to go through due to having two cards in SLI with the flashing procedure?
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
    Cheers,
    Needs
