GTX 760 OC 2GB Fps drops and performance drops when reach 2GB

Hey after this problems with the GTX970, I decided to test my graphic card which I received from the RMA because the last one just gone, and when reach almost 2GB of ram used the performance drops a lot like in the 970, In games like Assetto Corsa I'm feeling this problem, sometimes I have drops from 60 fps to 20 fps ..
My model is the GTX 760 OC GAMING 2GB but the last which gone had the difference in the memory chip, using hynix memories instead of this new one which have Elpida.
Any idea?

Hello and Merry Christmas to all
    I have a UEFI VBIOS request for a GTX 760 TwinFrozr 2GB

  • GTX 760 Leaking fluid(oil?) and freezing up randomly, bearing noise from fan

I just bought an MSI GTX 760 OC TwinFrozr couple of months ago and am facing serious issues.
    Specs on my machine
    >i5 3570K
    >8 gb 1600 Corsair ram
    >Asrock Z77 Ultimate 6 motherboard
    >Thermaltake 650W Smart 650
    >the GPU in question
    >SSD and 2 HDD's
My screen will freeze randomly and the machine will become unresponsive and sound will buzz and slowly advance for ~1-2 minutes until my machine recovers and tells me that a driver has crashed and recovered. Sometimes the machine requires a hard reset. The driver crashing is most likely due to the system slowing down and desyncing. I have reinstalled windows and all drivers, reseated everything, checked every cable, ran without the GPU and stress-tested and I only get this issue with the 760, but not my old 550TI, which I am now forced to use due to the 760's issues. Also ran + installed windows from/on 2 different HDD's.
Before I take this product to RMA at my local shop, I want to publish this here to serve both as proof and for someone to maybe give me some advice regarding this issue, maybe a confirmation that this issue is in fact not with my PSU, CPU or motherboard. I have run stress-tests on all components and only with the 760 connected my machine will freeze. No issues with intelburn, iGPU burners, kombustor on iGPU or memtests, no issues with HDD's. Most of the time with the 760 the machine will freeze in Source-engine based games, youtube videos and VLC running, but also just randomly, without reaching any high stress or load. Haven't managed to get a freeze with ONLY kombustor, except a few times.
Here are some photos of the fans, the surrounding area has, what seems like hydraulic fluid that would come from a hydraulic bearings used in some fans: -----> imgur.com/a/5m7jY <-----. I noticed this because my case window started to get some splatter that was horizontal and adjacent to the GPU, there is also some of the oil on my motherboard, the side window has now been cleaned. The oil could not have come from an external source, since the machine is always upright and the fans are always facing down + I take EXTREME caution and care of my machine on a tri-monthly basis and my machine is a holy shrine to me.
If anyone could confirm that the 760 TF has hydraulic/fluid-bearings on the fans, I would be grateful. I just want to be 100% sure before I apply for an RMA, because if the store claims that the issue is my fault, I will have to pay €40 for collateral + other costs and I simply can't afford that right now.
    Thank you very much.

I have the same card with the same problem. Slight rattle around 70-85%, goes away at full speed but there's an oil line running parallel to my GPU on my motherboard which I'm not happy about. Started the RMA process today, but I'm a little annoyed by the fact that MSI wants ME to pay shipping to them . For the cost of a good courier, I may as well replace the fans... I wish someone would make a water-block for this card.
Have you tried contacting the consumer protection agency in your location? Where did you get your GPU? The RMA should be handled by the reseller in some cases and when a product is malfunctioning, at least in my country, the product needs to be compensated without additional cost to the customer if it is within the warranty period.
I took my GPU in for an RMA as soon as the first response to this thread was made and now pending for a few weeks before I get a new one.
The GPU did indeed have a hydro bearing and they told me that this wasn't an unseen situation and that the product will be sent back asap. Actually, as soon as they saw it, they said that it's clearly a defected product.
Thanks to badboy2k for the quick reply and thanks Flatlanded for replying, hope you can get the card fixed.
I had a very bad experience with MSI products, just last year my cousins motherboard fried just outside the warranty period and now my 270€ GPU has both fans malfunctioning and the card itself freezing my machine. Let's hope the refurbed card wont have these issues and lives on, it's a really good card performance-vise, but unfortunately I'm not impressed by the build quality right now.

    Alright thanks for the reply
    Btw I have a Asrock Z97E-ITXac.
When I try to use Ultra Fastboot, which requires GOP Vbios, when playing games, my graphics driver stops working and the game crashes. When I disable the Ultra Fastboot, everything works fine.
    Any idea why that happens?

  • FPS drops when tapping anywhere on the screen

Have had this problem since I first started with mobile apps. Any solutions? I've searched thoroughly and can't find any answer.
I add an FPS displayer to the app to keep track of the FPS (btw, is capitalized FPS only used for First Person Shooter or also the Framerate?, should the framrate be "fps"?, alsways wondering that ). Wherever I tap the screen, the FPS drops. I don't even have to have any other code, so it's not even a button I tap. It can be in an empty black space and it just makes the game run slower. Even if I remove the FPS displayer and just add the smallest code needed to move an mc from the left side to the right and tap the screen fast while it moves, it moves stuttery and/or slows down. If the screen is not touched, it can take it 5 secs to go from left to right, if I tap the screen as fast as I can while it moves, it can take up to 8+ secs before it gets to the right side.
So, what's up with this slowdown when the screen is touched in Adobe Air mobile apps? Been like this since the very first Adobe Air/SDK version I used, and right now I'm using the latest one (3.7). And it happens both with GPU and CPU. If I don't tap the screen furiously, the stuff runs great and good framerate. In some cases it also slowsdown if I just hold the finger down on the screen and moving it around. But then it usually have to be on something, not just blank space.
I surely can't be the only one.

Bumping this thread. I'm building an AIR kiosk app (AIR 14.0 for Desktop, Windows 7 PC, Samsung LS24C770TS monitor), and am experiencing a similar issue as Tenchy.
If the user quickly taps any visible MovieClip (even MCs that don't have any touch event listeners) in my app, it causes severe lag in other touch events. Odd thing is that the frame rate is not affected by tapping fast, it's just that other touch events are delayed while tapping non-interactive MCs.
Referencing the thread below, I've tried both mouseEnabled = false and mouseChildren = false, on the non-interactive MCs. This doesn't fix the issue. The touch objects and non-touch objects are not deeply nested.
severe frame rate drop when touching screen iOS
Has anyone found a solution for this issue?

  • FPS drop when using movie clips.

Hello, first of all excuse my English it's not my main
    language.
I'm working with a portfolio in Flash CS4 (actionscript 2.0
if that would matter). The portfolio has buttons, each button is
connected to a movie clip, so when you press the button a movie
clip starts playing (It's in the background all the time though
alpha is at 0%). The movie clip contains another two movie clips,
both of those goes from 0% alpha, to 100% alpha and then back to 0%
alpha. There is also a button on top of the two movie clips. So all
and all it's a movie clip containing two other movie clips and one
    button.
Anyway, when I have about 3 buttons and movie clips there is
no problem, but when I add 4-5 or more the FPS get's very low when
    the movie clip plays.
I have tried to change the FPS from 25 to 40 etc. but there
is no change. I have also tried Flash Player 9 and 10.
I don't think the problem is my computer, since I've exported
it as a movie and tried on friends computers.
    Thanks in advance.

It depends what is in your movie clips, and how much is
happening during the alpha transitions. The playback speed depends
on how much work the processor has to do. If you have a lot of
large elements - for example, photos that you resized in Flash -
moving around, changing alpha, all at the same time, it will slow
    down performance.
Try to simplify your graphics. So, if you are using bitmap
images, resize them before importing them to Flash. Then try
removing some of your graphics and see if it speeds up performance.
This will help you to locate the problem.

  • Random FPS drops when scrolling

At random intervals the scrolling becomes very choppy. If I press the MMB (to use the autoscroll) it goes back to normal for a minute or so and then becomes very choppy again. It's really annoying using the autoscroll every 30s-1m just to fix the choppiness.
I tried resetting FF and reinstalling it but even a fresh installation (with no plugins and addons installed) has this problem. Tried creating a new profile which fixed it for 1-2 days but then the random FPS drops occur again. The problem exists with or without hardware acceleration. All my drivers are up to date.
Any ideas? I love Firefox but this problem is so annoying I am seriously considering moving to Chrome...

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Rename (or delete) the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).
You can also try to increase the value of the browser.sessionstore.interval pref on the <b>about:config</b> page.

You're copying and pasting this in several threads. It is not a one-works-for-all solution.
The STL100-1 model has some known issues of dropping charge quickly as he describes.
Other users have been able to rectify this issue by leaving the device connected to the wall outlet charger AND with it connected, removing the battery a few minutes and reinserting the battery. Disconnecting from the charger as you're pasting doesn't do it.

  • MSI GeForce GTX 760 TF 2gb Oc gpu clock impossible

Hello guys, so i've a problem since i installed Windows 8.1 + last driver.
I just can't Overclock my GPU "clock", lock at 1019 MHZ but no problem with the memory/voltage.
    My Vbios : NV274HM.3D1
    Last drivers nvidia : 352,86
    Windows 8.1 / 64bts.
Screen on msi afterburner about the clock.
    Thanks for helps

....Which one is a current screenshot?
I'm thoroughly confused now. You're sending different screenshots, not saying 'WHEN' they are from, and from what I can see in the screenshots, EVERYTHING LOOKS OK. If you aren't running a game, the GPU isn't going to run at MAX CLOCK.....that's pretty common knowledge.
Looking at your screenshots, with +229, the clocks look right as indicated. -109 looks OK too, according to the indication in the program.
If you aren't going to load a game and see what the clocks are while gaming, you're never going to see the true clock speeds. Until you start doing that, sending these screenshots is pretty pointless. The clock will always be the same for sitting at the desktop.

So I have tried other forums to no avail, but I still need help.. My computer isn't recognizing my GPU (listed in subject) and it is driving me crazy, both fans are spinning up on it power is deffinetly going to it. So far i have updated all of the bios and stuff (that i know of), re-seating,  setting the bios to boot with a GPU first still nothing. Do i Have a dud card?

Yea it works perfectly with the integrated graphics, I'm using it to type this right now, and no this is the only card I have right now. I would run it to a store to have it checked out but the closest one is literally 50 miles away.. Is it more likely that this is a software/user error than a hardware problem? I have been trying to get it to work for 3 days now..

i used to install a cracked version of OS and having same problem like this.
sometimes there will be missing file but it would be found couple days later.
sometimes there will be software issue, for example, no sound during mp3 play or video play, but couple days later it will be solved automatically.
after that, i installed an official OS Win7 then all the problem gone....

I met this kind of problems before because of my HDD is having bad sectors.
Checking the healthy of the disk is a good idea.
