Gtx 770 appearing weird square spots on screen

Hi,
Im using MSI Gtx 770 and i have a problem with its software. i think its cause is software because i wasn't live any trouble with this card since several updates ago. i formatted my windows a minimum twice for this issue but it wasn't a solution. if i restart my computer its not happen for a while but after same spots shows themselves again.
By the way, spots are not stationary they are always moving and changing their form.
How i fix it?
Thanks for any help and sorry for my bad english.

now im trying uninstall my graphic driver and i will directly download latest version of the driver. so dont need any update for now. i hope it works.
OK.
If reinstalling still fails, follow this guide: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=167763.msg1227914#msg1227914   and possibly vBIOS update will fix the issue.

  • Weird square in Mavericks

    Hi everyone!
Since I've installed OS X Mavericks in my MBP - laptop, sometimes I notice "weird square" on my screen. I dont think that my laptop's screen is broken because example when I noticed the square in Safari's address bar and moved it the square moving with it, and when I quit Safari, the mystery square disappeared and then i opened Safari again and the square didn't show anymore. That is happened about nine times after Mavericks and when I have Mountain Lion, there wasn't nothing squares like now.
I took a screen shot today when the mystery square came to Safari:

Can anybody help me with that?

    Hello Yarno90,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the box on your display of your MacBook Pro.  I would be concerned about this too.
I found an article with steps to troubleshoot issues with displays.  This article is for internal and external displays, so you can skip any steps referring to an external display.  I recommend reviewing the full article, but this step specifically stands out to me:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
You can find the full article here:

  • [Problem] MSI GTX 770 Blue Screen

Good morning. I am new to this forum, my name is Karl. In December last year I bought a MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr. The board works fine, but have had many blue screens with nVidia drivers (official site). I decided to install the drivers from the MSI jointer (331.65) which worked well for a few months. This April 15 I began to have blue screens again, I've had five so far.
I must say that my pc is in perfect condition and always keep in good condition.
    My Specifications:
    Processor: Intel I5 3570K 4.2 Ghz OC.
    Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M
    Processor Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212
    HD: 1TB WD Blue
Video Card: MSI GTX 770 2GB
Memory: 2x4 GB Kingston Hyper Ram
Please help! Do not understand how MSI does not release updated drivers but the 331.65 are very old!

Remove current drivers in safemode using >>Driver Fusion<<. After reboot install latest Nvidia driver: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/73780/en-us

  • Rented movies have floating green square spots all over screen

We have a new Sony KDL-52W4100 connected to our v1 Apple TV via HDMI at 1080p. Cable images std and HD look great, DVD and Blueray look great, all functions of Apple TV (photos, intro, menus) look great. Rented TV shows and movies have large floating green squares all over screen. Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
This sounds like the file is either corrupt or there is an issue with output from the tv. Firstly, I wasn't aware that tv v 1 software supported 1080p, I suspect you are either running v 2 software or you don't have 1080p as an output resolution.
I doubt all your rented movies have become corrupt so I'd be looking at your HDMI connection as the source of your problem, have you tried another cable, is it seated properly. You should also be aware that 1080p requirers a category 2 HDMI cable (although in many cases category 1 does suffice)

  • 770 Lightning weird issue

Hey, I have a weird issue with my GTX 770 Lightning. This issue appears only with DX11
So, when I try "Heaven Benchmark" after a little moment I got a "Kernel Mode not responding ..." and when I look in Windows Log I have "nvlddmkm error". The interesting things is when I look a little closer on Afterburner, this error is only with "stock" (1202Mhz on Core Clock) parameters. Well when I down (-70Mhz) core clock it work like a charm. Is it a default on my CG or just a problem with Nvidia drivers (I've tried 337.50 BETA, 335.23 WHQL and 334.89 WHQL) ?
    Thanks

    DX11 stress the card higher
Yup but isn't normal that games like ArcheAge or Bioshock Infinite crash with "Kernel mode ..." on DX11 with this card even if DX11 requires more power from CG. Like I've said with Core Clock set to -70 and Core Voltage on 0, to set with Nvidia specs it doesn't crash. I think it's weird xD

  • Problem with MSI z87-g45 and gigabyte GTX 770

Hello, I just built my new computer useing a Z87-G45 gaming motherboard and a Gigabyte GTX 770 graphic card, reason Im making this post is because I cant get a any video on the monitor useing the Graphic card, only way to get the monitor working is to use the Integraded graphic, I've tried all ports on the Graphic card same problem, i've switched monitor no succes.
Weird thing is, Inside BIOS when Im looking on the overview of the board it tells me that I dont have anything connected in the PCI-E slots, I've tried to switch PCI-E slots and same issue appears.
How do I fix this? or cant my graphic card be DOA? since my old one works in the PCI-E slots as normally

Update the bios to the most recent found here: >>BIOSes<<
Extract the bios file and place it on a fat 32 formatted usb stick and use M-flash w/ ME.
    Then re-test.

  • GTX 770 Lightning vBios recovery and other questions

Hey I was just wondering, is 70C too hot becau- Just kidding.  Haha, gotcha.
Actual Question: I was messing about flashing higher and higher power/memory/clock settings and I went too high. Just as I get to the betta fish loading logo (I'm using the 8.1 preview) the screen goes black but does not sleep and I'm stuck there. So now I get to use the LN2 switch to boot, (I JUST researched LN2 and realized what I've been missing) but how do I flash a Normal mode vbios when I can only run in LN2 mode?
Also, just to be 100% safe: A UEFI/GOP vBios is backward compatible with a legacy MB right? I want to make sure I have a vbios to boot with. MY actual computer is an obnoxious Inspiron 546 from 2009... yea. I'm just borrowing this rig. The 770 is MINE though.
Another issue I cannot understand is that whenever I reach 99% GPU usage under ANY (Normal) vBios settings in ANY game with ANY driver the game freezes and crashes and MSI afterburner occasionally reports something crazy like 90129374% Power in a spike. I was actually trying to work around that by overclocking so much I'd never reach 99% GPU usage, but it still spikes for a split second and crashes me.
Finally, I'm highly curious about this vbios entry on techpowerup http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/141424/msi-gtx770-2048-130605.html The other two MSI GTX770 Lightning vbios's on this page http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?manufacturer=MSI&model=GTX+770 are the Normal and LN2 vbios's as it states at the bottom, but that third one says nothing on the bottom, and to further increase curiosity the version number has a more significant change in it. Has something been updated?
Oooh yes, one last thing. I've think I might have come across a bug in Svets vBios Tuner (2.49h). I can't set any P*state  higher than 2040 because I get a 'wrong parameter' error with anything above that. I used Kepler Bios Tweaker 1.25 to set it to 2104 and that worked, but appears as 4 in both Kepler Bios tweaker and Svets Tuner after that.
I know this is a lot of questions at once here, but I tend to save 'em up for a while. Thank you in advance. -Eli

but how do I flash a Normal mode vbios when I can only run in LN2 mode?
If you have a non-nvidia vga left you can install it besides the lightning and use it for primary display. Then just use nvflash as usual to reflash a normal vbios (of course card needs to be switched to normal) and it will flash the nvidia adapter it finds (the Lightning). If you only have another Nvidia card left you'd have to identify the adapters name you want to flash (type nvflash --list and all adapters are listed). If then wanting to flash add the adapter name before the file to flash, e.g.: nvflash i1 vbios.rom (assuming i1 is the Lightning's name and vbios.rom is the name of the file to flash). Nvflash will then just flash the Lightning.
If you have no other vga you are out of luck. A PC-Shop can recover it for you.

Also, just to be 100% safe: A UEFI/GOP vBios is backward compatible with a legacy MB right?
If the board is really legacy bios (no UEFI at all) then theoretically yes. Of course the board needs to be compatible to the latest GTX770 series cards. Old mainboards might run into compatibility issues apart from the vbios.

Then your card is for whatever reason not stable (e.g. insufficient power supply, software issue, too much cpu overclock or simply the card not making factory settings - rma issue -).

Don't download vbioses from third party sites. The uploaders mostly have no clue of these files themselves. There is nothing newer than you got from Svet. Don't experiment.

  • Req: GTX 770 TF 2GD5/OC VBIOS

    Hi there.
    I have an MSI GTX 770 (N770 TF 2GD5/OC)
    S/N 602-V282-220B1309046698
I tried to update the VBIOS via MSI Live Update but I had issues, not 100% certain if my VBIOS was updated as it froze/hung but since then I have no display when my PC boots - I can boot into Windows just fine (Win8.0 x64) but I cannot get any display in the BIOS either via DVI or HDMI.
Other thing I notice is that it takes a much longer time to boot, usually from a cold boot to Windows's login screen it would take less than 10 seconds, but now it's much longer, maybe my BIOS is prompting me for something but since I have no display I cannot tell.  Once Windows boots up, all is perfectly fine, though.
I have tried a few different VBIOS flashes for my GTX 770 since then but no joy in getting display in the BIOS.
I have the latest bios for my motherboard, an Asus P8P67-M Pro B3.
Everything is otherwise fine, Windows, gaming etc is all fine apart from no display during boot or BIOS.

Thanks, flashed, shutdown and started up again but no change.  I don't get any display until the Windows 8 login screen.
Is there an older vbios I can try for my card? I'm wondering if it's not related to the UEFI GOP feature the new vbios's offer?

  • GTX 770 2GB Twin Frozr OC does not POST

Been building new PC over last couple of days. When I do not have the graphics card installed my system works fine.  With the graphics card installed I am unable to reach the POST screen.  I have switched the monitor cable between the graphics card and motherboard and do not receive an output signal for either.  I have also swapped out the power cable going to the graphics card as well as tried different PCI outputs coming from the PSU.
I do not have access to another computer to try the graphics card on.
What are your recommendations for my next troubleshooting step?  All system components are brand new.
    System Info:
    chip: Intel i5 4670k
    cooling: Corsair H100i Liquid Cooler
    psu: Corsair AX760 fully modular
    memory: Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) Vengeance LP DDR3 1600MHz
graphics card: MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB Twin Frozr OC
    motherboard: MSI Z87I-GAMING-AC
    OS: Windows 8.1 64
    storage: Samsung 840 EVO

Well as you don't have access to different computer to test it with, it's quite difficult. (friends? got any friends? :D )
I'd start off with... testing in another rig.  Also it would be really good if you could test different card in your PC. As you said you're not able to test, maybe go to some local store and ask if they can test your PC?
Did you give CMOS clearing a shot? >>Clear CMOS Guide<<  Also I'd look through BIOS settings.
Make sure it is fully pushed in, same with PCIe power cabling. Sometimes this might be an issue, as you can think it is fully in, but it's not.

  • Do I need an active adapter for my third monitor? (GTX 770)

I have a GTX 770 and with it a 2560x1440 monitor is connected through Dual-DVI.
I want to connect my TV and a second 22" computer screen to my graphics card. The MSI 770 Gaming has this:
    Dual-link DVI-I x 1
    Dual-link DVI-D x 1
    DisplayPort x 1 (version 1.2)
    HDMI x 1 (version 1.4a)
Is it possible to connect my screens so that I do not need an active adapter? Let's say the 27" screen goes to a Dual Link DVI, the TV connects to HDMI, and the 22" screen connects to either the last Dual Link DVI or the DisplayPort.
    Is this possible?

If Vodafone operates anything like AT&T here in the States, once the SIM has been inactivated by the carrier, you would need a new one. I usually get a new SIM when I swap phones. I may be supersticious, but I think it reduces problems.

  • Some texts do not display correctly (appear as squares)

Since I got my Z10 some of the texts everywhere else on the phone do not display properly. They appear as squares. Any help?
See the image attached below for more details.

You would have to contact the website developers and get them to check their site on mobile devices and update the code where necessary.
Looking at the source code of that page, it looks like very old, quite convoluted and rather inefficient JavaScript that powers the menu.
There's certainly no reason why a web developer couldn't make such a menu compatible with touch screen mobile devices. Plenty of similar menus work just fine.
I guess whoever developed it hasn't checked it on modern web browsers and mobile devices for some time.

  • Weird Square Corner Window Decorations with GTK+ 3.16

For some reason all GTK3 applications have weird square corners since I updated to GTK+ 3.16. Here is a screenshot of a music program I'm making exemplifying this problem: http://i.imgur.com/vMf3MUO.png
It happens with ALL GTK3 applications.
Here is my gtk.css in my ./config/gtk-3.0 folder of my home directory:
    .window-frame
    border-width: 5px;
    box-shadow: none;
    margin: 5;
Is there anything in that file I can change to fix this problem? I'm using Fluxbox with compton.

Even with the new completely updated Vertex theme downloaded from https://github.com/horst3180/Vertex-theme my title bars and gnome tweak tool are white and don't look anything like the screenshots of the creator. What are the potential causes of this? I have reinstalled all of gnome and everything but I just get back to the same appearance.

  • Issue with Power management MSI Gforce GTX 770

    Hello,
I contact you since I have bought one month ago a GForce GTX 770
I do not have the serial Number but could havez a look at it quickly if needed
I have since the beginning recurrent issues with the graphic cards and require support.
    System Windows 7 64 bits
Last official Pilots up to date 335.23
I also tryed the provided drivers 331.21 (9.18.13.3182 more precisely)
    Issue
When the graphic cards is reauired high demands (in case of high GPU demand for games) the nvidia driver is crashing (nvlddmkm.sys). Sometimes windows recovers, sometimes not, the system is fully dead and only windows restore function could help restarting the system and restore stable driver set.

    Tests I did
Based on this new computer (everything is new into it)
    - Power supply seems to be the cause, thus i tested a more powerful one (520w to 700w) same result
    - i changed the card of PCI express plug on the mother board which did not do anything
    - I reinstalled fully win 7 and did the minimum installs such as antivirus and graphic drivers from nvidia. same result
    - I updated Power supply windows settings to high performance in order to disable auto adaptative voltage from the system. same result
    - I updated as well power supply nvidia option to best performances which did not solved the issue as well.
Tests I did not do, since they are intrusive
Update the Bios ? did not know if you have a more recent one

What should I do to have a clear evidence of the issue which could be either the card itself, of the bios which does not manage properly the power consumption ?? How can I send you useful logs ? Is there is a diagnostic tool to provide you with better data to dig in ?
I am stucked and unable to use properly this nez configuration ...

    Now a few questions :
    - Does the NVidia Bios flash changes the guarantee on it ? I mean the CG is new, I do not want to lose the guarantee.
Thanks a lot for your time.

This problem came with Leopard. (At least in my case)
Every time Mail download messages, when the last throbber meets the bottom (by the status bar), a black square appears on it.
Eventually the square spot will appear also at the top, on the tool bar, right when the first throbber starts spinning.

  • 2 x GTX 770 bizarre issue.

Thought I'd post here tonight as I'm scratching my head wondering what the issue is.
I removed my 2 GTX 670's and replaced them with 2 MSI GTX 770 Gaming OC's - initially no display but worked out it was a cable issue.
Booted into my working Win 7 64 bit - No sound or rather the sound is just crackling sounds. Removed the sound and video drivers - re-installed - same thing. Tried external USB sound card - same thing.
Clean Windows 7 install - same thing before I even install the sound driver for the on-board sound card.
Basically nothing I can think of should cause this - but essentially I can't get sound on anything, where it once worked before. I'm running a 1200W PSU, so I can't see it being a power issue, so basically I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts as to why swapping the graphics would stop all sound working.
    TIA

    Finally solved the issue.
After swapping the motherboard again and getting no video, I slightly moved the first video card (after removing the second one) up a little and I got a video signal (we're talking 2mm movement).
Added the second card - nothing. Swapped the power over between card 1 and 2. Nothing. Swapped 6 and 8 pin power leads around (as they are both 8 pin which you can remove 2). PC started.
So basically..........it seems the sound went wonky on board 1, but the power leads wanted to be in a certain way around to work in SLI.
I know everyone is probably thinking it's probably the PSU leads at the PSU end, but they are both 8 pin cables and worked either way around in card 1. So.......just one of those really random, weird things.
