I bought MSI 770GTX Gaming 2GB few months ago. Now i`m playing Crysis 3 and occasionally my GPU usage drops to 45%-50%. It happends on same places, like in first scene when climbing up the stairs. I go up, GPU Usage drops to 45% for 1-2 scs and stuff like that. Now I wonder is anyone else experiencing same symptoms,  and what can I do to solve this problem? I`m using latest drivers, 331.82. I registered my card, and updated BIOS from your support site. Temperatures are <70c, nowhere near power limit so that can`t be causing low gpu drops. I did fresh Windows install but it didn`t help. Didn`t try older drivers yet.

I have the same card and had a lot of similar issues to this especially in crisis 3.
I seemed to resolve the issues by removing the Nvidia audio drivers and the MSI gaming app, then I  reinstalled the NVidia drivers as a clean install without the audio driver.  I didn't reinstall the gaming app as when I did the issue comes back

  • MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr 2GB OC Bios question

I got the MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr OC 2gb version and would like to know how to verify if I have the newest bios for the gpu.
This is the newest version listed on the website : http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N770_TF_2GD5OC.html#download
And thats an ss from GPU-Z, cant find the exact bios version in that downloadable zip from msi website and i cant seem to find the date created for the bios I have on my card now.
Having some problems with gpu load drops and microstuttering, so wondering if a bios update might sort out my problems.

The vbios on MSI site is a different vbios series (NV282MS.331) and older than your current vbios. Your vbios (NV282MS.352) is dated 06/18/13 while the one from MSI site is dated 06/11/13. Both are legacy vbios versions (no GOP support). You can try the latest hybrid vbios (GOP support) which is NV282MH.351. It is attached.

It helps a bit if i turn these two to high performance, off - http://prntscr.com/605mob but that cant be the way to fix this, i didnt get the 770 to turn down some options in the control panel.

  • MSI GTX 770 4Gb/DDR5 OC GPU usage is 0%

    Hi Guys,
I've noticed that when I'm using the "MSI Game App" for OC my GTX770 to game mode or OC mode,
when benchmarking the card with "MSI Kombustor" I see that the GPU load stays at 0% all the time (using the MSI Afterburner SW).
Only when I'm switching the "MSI game App" to Normal mode, or shutting it down it completely and performing Benchmark tests again, the GPU load is rising up to 97%-99% usage.
Using the MSI Afterburner for monitoring the sensors, shows the same results in all scenarios - I can see the core temperature is climbing, but the GPU load stays at 0% all the time  .
    I'm using:
The latest NVIDIA GTX 770 drivers (331.82 & tried also 331.93),
The latest MSI game app (v1.0.0.13),
The latest MSI Afterburner Version 2.3.1 & Kombustor.
Mother Board: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R (rev 2)
Video Card: MSI GTX 770 4Gb/DDR5 OC
    Power supply: Corsair RM750.
Any clue how to solve this problem will be much appreciated
Moreover - Can someone please tell me what benchmark score is considered as a good score for this HW setup (using the MSI Kombustor)?
Thanks in advance and a Happy new year to everyone,
    SunShy

The issue is no issue. The Gaming APP blocks usage reading to prevent boost 2.0 to throttle at low usage to have a relatively stable oc clockrate (to have best benchmark results). Don't use the Gaming APP and use Afterburner for overclocking and usage monitoring will work fine.
    Thank you flobelix!

  • GTX 770 \ Twin Frozr 3 Coolers and 90 Degree angle

    Hi MSI,
People who have Raven or FT silverstone cases with a 90 degree angle - probably know of the issues with heatpipes not cooling proper when being turned 90 degrees.
As i am about to ditch an old 7850 and go with a 770(most likely) and the twin frozr 3 version looked appealing i was wondering if those issues have been dealt with?
I had a friend who had the same problem with 7970 lightning version - and was wondering if there's some email you could ask MSI about it for an answer?
I know my old Sappihre 7850 has no issues - but would like to avoid buying a new GPU where there's a 90 degree design problem.
    Cheers,.
    Mac

Both GTX770 are using a Twin Frozr IV. None the less all heatpipes are designed to work in one way as that is needed for the thermal cycle inside fuction optimal. Mainboards as well as vgas are designed to be positioned in a ATX way. The opposite position is bad for the thermal cycle. There is no way to change that except for changing the position of the heatpipes what would make them not working optimal in an ATX case. As ATX and it's variations are the current standard it would be a bad idea for a manufacturer to do so. It's no issue to be dealt with but the way heatpipes work.
Also this is a Users-to-Users Forum. For asking MSI this is the wrong place: >>How to contact MSI.<<

  • GTX 770 Twin Frozr Lite Edition

I recenlty bought gtx 770 TF 2GD5, i thought that it's O/C version but noticed that it's Lite Edition..
I have tried to search on forum but couldnt do it :(
As i understand, it's not O/C version. It's okay, but my question is,
is there any other differences between O/C and this Lite Edition?
I looked the original Msi website, there's no lite edition, so i really dont know what i bought
Can you help me about this cards specs pls ?
    Thanks
    * Found it
    difference is only o/c

Oh no you are following me
Funny thing is I returned to this forum when I Google on one graphic card, I found rather acceptable, GTX 770 Lightning Lite Edition...and guess what X-Files...
And pointing to reseller is way to go with user to user advice

  • GTX 770 twin frozr 4GB no signal via HDMI. DVI connection fine.

    BenQ G2420HD monitor
    Windows 8.1 update 1
    Geforce driver version 335.23
I cannot get the video output from the HDMI to work. I have been using DVI to DVI and replaced the cable with HDMI, however only get a "no signal" message when I try to. I have adjusted the input type on the monitor to HDMI but nothing is being displayed. Is there anything I need to do to output video on HDMI (I assume it should happen just by plugging in)? I haven't had a chance to test the monitor on another PC as yet, but this will be my next option.
    Any suggestions welcome.

Yes, I initially set it up with the HDMI as the only connection, but I also tested having both DVI and HDMI connected at the same time - in this case it detects the model number of the monitor through HDMI and gives me the option for extended desktop etc - however, if I try selecting duplicate screens and then cycle through the input types on the monitor, when it gets to HDMI the screen is just black.
I'll swap the monitor with my TV when I get back home tonight and see what the results are then.
On other thing issue (probably unrelated) is I get noticeable ghosting, especially when scrolling down webpages (dark text leaves a white silhouette) - I'm using the same DVI cable and monitor that I was on XP, the only difference being the OS and the graphics card.

OC is always risky and done at own risk.
Basically the max allowed from AB
We are not going to OC your card further,
but just to make it stable at default HW-OC speed
