GTX980 gaming 4G - Display Ports HELP ME PLEASE!!! so stressed

Hi
today I bought this video card and 3x Benq XL2430T monitors, nearly $2500 AU dollars worth of gear
and all i can do is get 1 friggin screen working via the DVI
I am running drivers 344.80
I have installed Benq monitor drivers
ALL the monitors show as all connected in windows Device manager and in NCP, 1 with the DVI, and 2x on Display Ports. when I try to activate the monitors plugged into the DPs via RIGHT CLICK on desktop and CHANGE RESOLUTION... I select one of the monitors on the display port and try to tell windows to extend desktop onto them, it reports "unable to save display settings" and the resolution/orientation are greyed out. if i boot with all connected as described i don't get any displays working, will only ever get 1x display of the desktop via DVI if booted with nothing plugged into DP's.
this is so stressing... not a nice way to start Holidays :(
can anyone help me out here??
I could get triples going on my old GTX590 using different monitors... i buy latest and greatest card and monitors and its all for POOH!!! ARGH!!!

HI Nichrome
thanks for your reply....
yes the BIOS is the latest... did it tonight (just about had a nervous breakdown in the process    )
i don't mean to be ignorant but whats the OC got to do with a connection between a monitor and a video card got to do with anything ??
i have done numerous clean installs of numerous different driver versions the ones supplied with the card, 344.75 & 344.16 & lastly the supposed HOTFIX 344.80's
tried a HDMI cable for giggles and it works fine (had DVI & HDMI going simultaneously) so its only the DP's that appear to not function properly (which i need as i want to run triples at 144mhz).  i tested all monitors separately via DVI and they all work fine. the Card is working fine if using the DVI or HDMI ports. the issue is specifically all of the DISPLAY PORTS
if i use a DP to DVI adapter do you think that would make a difference?

    Hi badboy2k
thanks for the info, was hoping that could get 3840x2160 at 60Hz as sure that is display port 1.2 spec.
There seems to be a lot of confusion as to 4k and display port output

  • Fluttering display. Help me please

I have noticed my iMac 21.5" display brightness fluttering in intensity intermittently each 45 min or so. I already substituted it but the new IMAC has same issue. What do i have to do? Has any one esle experienced this?
I have read that i can resolve it if i delete the folder "SystemConfiguration" placed in "Preferences" in Library folder. Is it true ?
    Somebody has had same problem?
    Thanks.

Yes! I am also suffering this issues.
If any one help for this it could be a great help for us......

  • Parallel Port Help. Please

    Dear friends,
Am developing an application that is to use the javax.comm package under a Linux (Fedora Core 5) system. However am quite stuck when it comes to sending a signal to a specific 'wire' off the parallel port.
I have read about the configuration of the parport that is in such a way:
    1      Not normally used
    2-17      Data ports
    17-25     Ground
so that if I want to send a signal to port 2 and ground I will open the port and transmit the signal 0100000000000000000000000 correspoding to the various port wires. This is, however, not working since the ports are giving me a HIGH signal through the entire time even when no signal is being trandmitted. How can I work around this or is there an easier or better way to go round this?

After much googling and searching all over the web, I found out that package javax.comm is just redundant and, for a lack of more appropriate word, useless. The same goes for package rxtx. However, I came across something called parport that gives excellent output in very simple ways :)

  • Upgradable? Help me please.. stressed now!! =(

hi.. i have a question here.. im using Windows XP now.. and there r many errors and spywares now.. so i plan to reformat it or maybe upgrade to Windows Vista.. is this possible? and how can i upgrade my HDD? 80GB is too small for me.. and the graphic card cant support some high-resolution games such as Gothics III.. any1 pls help me.. =(

The MacBook Hard Drive is upgradable by removing the battery and the small 'L' shaped bracket in the battery compartment.
Depending on your comfort level, you may consider seeking out an Apple Authorized Service location and inquire there about a hard drive upgrade.
Also, I would not recommend the upgrade to Vista, it is no better than XP in the Spyware/Viruses department. Unless you have a very specific need for Windows, you will find that Virtualization software such as Parallels or VMWare provide a much more secure and pleasant experience as they allow you to run your Windows Applications from your OS X Desktop.
    Hope this helps,

  • External 4k monitor says no signal from display port

    HELP...
I have a late 2009 27" iMac running 10.10.2 Yosemite, i bought an ASUS PB287Q 4k monitor to extend my desktop. I have connected it by MDP to DP and the Mac recognises the ASUS, shows it as a display and tells me how it is connected but the display keeps saying "display port no signal"
If i run bootcamp and boot into windows 7 Ultimate on the same iMac the screen works perfectly giving me a 4k screen at 2160p to work on alongside the iMac with the same Display port cable.
If i use OS X with a MDP to HDMI connector the screen works as it should but with a max resolution of 2560 x 1440 only.
I have unplugged everything and re-connected, tried turning on the ASUS at different times, reset P Ram but still it will not work?
Obviously every part is working but just not from OS X
The ASUS is also set to display port 1.1
    Please can anyone help????

    Hi Brett,
Thanks for your response, I'm on an iMac not Macbook but checked your link, All my software is up to date and there is no updates for the Asus and nothing for the mini dislayport to display port cable.
Everything works as it should via display port if i run bootcamp into windows 7 just not from OS X so would seem like a Mac Graphics driver issue perhaps??
I was hoping it would be a glitch that would correct itself by unplugging the cables or resetting the P Ram but no such luck so i am open to any other sugestions.
The iMac can see the Asus at all times just doesn't seem to send the signal to the Asus?
I would be happy to supply any logs that may shed some light on this issue.
    Kind Regards
    Mark

  • Im having trouble connecting my macbookpro to the tv. im using a mini display port to hdmi adapter, when i switch tv/video to hdmi on the tv nothing pops up, and i dont have the arrangement tap on the display settings, please help!

im having trouble connecting my macbookpro to the tv. im using a mini display port to hdmi adapter, when i switch tv/video to hdmi on the tv nothing pops up, and i dont have the arrangement tap on the display settings, please help!

I've found that the order of operations, so-to-speak, can be important when hooking up mini display port to HDMI.  I have the most success with the following operations in this order:
    1)  Plug HDMI cable into mini displayport adapter (the cable should not be plugged into either the TV or the computer at this point)
    2)  Plug the mini displayport end of your new super-cable to the computer.
    3)  Plug the HDMI end into your TV.
    4)  Switch inputs on your TV to the proper input.
    5)  If still nothing on the TV, try a different HDMI port on your TV.
    Hopefully this helps!  Good luck.

    Welcome to Apple Support Community.
If you have an earlier MacBook 2006-early 2009, it has a mini-DVI port.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9320G/A/apple-mini-dvi-to-vga-adapter
Search for 'mini DVI to VGA adapter' online, and you will find many sources for an adapter compatible with your MacBook.

    18. What is the maximum resolution available for use with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter?
The resolution available with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter is 1920 x 1200. VGA displays that use higher refresh rates (such as 85 Hz) at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater may not generate video properly until you lower the refresh rate.

    How can I detect displays?
If the detect displays option is not available, hold down the Option key while you are in the Display pane.
How do I select additional resolutions on my display?
You can use the Display pane of System Preferences to specify how your display works. Not all options appear for all display models. By default the best resolution for your display will already be selected in System Preferences.
To select a different resolution, use the Scaled option. Some additional resolutions may be available when you hold the Option button.
I hope this information helps ....

Do you have the Firefox new tab page but the actual sites are missing, or do you have some other page?
If you have some different page, try the quick fix in Fred McD's reply.
If the sites are missing, did you use the Reset feature? That will clear the storage associated with the new tab page. I'm not sure it's possible to recover from that; you probably need to rebuild your page from scratch as you browse.
For possible future reference, here is how to access the hidden setting for the page to display on new tabs:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
    * ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
    * ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
    * ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
    * ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
    Some gotchas:
''If Firefox won't let you edit this setting:'' you may have something called SearchProtect on your system.
''If Firefox lets you save your change but ignores it:'' one of your extensions may be overriding it. You can review, disable, and/or remove extensions on the add-ons page:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > ''in the left column click'' Extensions
''If the change works during your session, but at the next startup is back to an unwanted page:'' you might have a user.js file in your personal Firefox settings folder (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and remove the file: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
    Any luck?

Your code is absolutely unreadable - even if someone was willing to
help, it's simply impossible. I do give you a few tips, though: If you
understand your code (i.e. if it really is YOUR code), you should be
able to realize that your minimum and maximum never get set (thus they
are both 0) and your exam 3 is set with the wrong value. SEE where
those should get set and figure out why they're not. Chances are you
are doing something to them that makes one 'if' fail or you just
    erroneously assign a wrong variable!

  • Help using a mini display port to HDMI cable with MacBook Air and TV

Hi, Apple gurus. I need help setting up my MacBook Air to my Vizio TV using a mini display port to HDMI cable that I just purchased on Amazon.
And here's info about my MacBook Air:
In the Amazon reviews, someone posted the following how-tos, which aren't working for me:
    1. Plug in both ends, mini display port on your macbook and the HDMI on any available port on your LCD.
    2. Go to upper left Apple menu and scroll down to system preference. Or use your FINDER from the dock, go to applications, then system preference.
    3. Click on Displays
    4. Click on DETECT DISPLAY
    5. A similar screen pops up with name of your LCD, mine says SONY LCD, click on ARRANGEMENT
    6. Click the box that says MIRROR DISPLAYS.
    7. Go back into system preferences and go to SOUNDS which is located under HARDWARE.
    8. Click on OUTPUT, then select HDMI, which should be listed next to your LCD name.
I ran into trouble at step #4. My MacBook Air doesn't list the option of "detecting display." I do, however, have the box mentioned in step #6, "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available."
Regarding step #8, HDMI didn't appear in the list — I only see "internal speakers."
So, what am I doing wrong? Or, did I buy the wrong cable?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Or you need to get an appropriate adaptor. The Griffin adaptor sold on Apple's Online Store will work with a standard HDMI cable.

  • Mini display port to HDMI problem...still happening, apple needs to help!

i read a lot about this topic and the question was marked answered, but there was no answer, sooo...
this is just a heads up to apple that this problem still exists and many people are still having it! Please do something... you put this mini display port on your computers... sold them to us... and now dont have software that lets it work... loosing a lil faith in apple today! there were 11 pages on this that i saw, i think it deserves a firmware update!
this next part is a direct copy of a post by sanktcolon and he explained the problem very well, so if your interested...
I figured I would just tell you all about my story. I do not have any solutions, the problem is still ongoing. But first I'd like to clear some confusion.
There seem to be a couple of people in this thread who thinks that when you experience this problem and you plug the HDTV with your MacBook through HDMI, you get a connection with the HDTV and can change the settings. This is not true. What happens is that the MacBook will flash its screen like it does when it detects a TV being connected, but then it will go back to normal. No connection established. Of course, there's people in this thread with different kinds of problems but with similarities. However, the main problem in this thread is quite clear and it's the same one that I have.
So with that out of the way, here's what happens for me and most people in this thread:
I've been using a Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter for quite a while and it has been working great. But lately I've been experiencing issues with it. There is nothing wrong with the adapter nor the cable, and certainly not the TV.
When I connect the adapter to the computer, the screen on the MacBook will flash blue, like it should, but it will not connect to the TV. What does this mean? It means that it detects the TV but is unable to establish a connection with it. Probably because it sends the wrong signals.
Now that's all pretty logical, but here comes the weird stuff. If I continue to try and re-establish a connection, either by plugging in and out the cable or changing HDMI-ports with the TV-remote (the MacBook re-detects when I switch from HDMI1 to HDMI2 and back), it will eventually establish a connection with the TV and work fine. Though, this can take minutes. Plenty of minutes. Last night I tried re-detecting for about 15 minutes and it didn't work. However, this morning it worked quite quickly.
So the problem is quite obviously with the MacBook/the OS and not with the adapter, cable or the TV. It's just ridiculous, and frankly quite annoying, to read posts where people claim you should get a new adapter. Why? Because there's so many people out there with different adapters, and people who have switched adapters and so on and so forth, that experience the exact problem I just describe. So either there's a problem with the MacBook/OS or there's a lot of TVs and adapters out there that are faulty. It's just illogical.
Once again I would like to remind you all that there's no connection, what so ever, between the TV and the MacBook when it doesn't establish one. And by establish I mean that you can actually see the screen on the TV. So bringing up the display settings won't do anything, search for devices on the TV or in the MacBook won't do anything. There just is not a TV there for the MacBook.
I have tried everything posted in this thread and the only thing that works for me is trying over, and over, and over, and over again until it just randomly works.

I too am having this same problem with my Macbook Air (Late 2010 Edition). I think this has something to do with OSX 10.6.6. Before the update, my mini display to HDMI was working flawlessly. Now, when I try to plug in to the TV my macbook just flashes the blue screen with no picture going to the TV what so ever. I'm not sure what was done with the update, but i'd sure like to be able to connect this machine to the TV again! APPLE, HEAR OUR VOICES! Fix this problem!
