Good morning all.... I need help with my iPhone 4S,, like I say I dropped it yesterday and its in pieces cos dropped from a high,,, well the problem I got is I really need my photos of it if possible could do with msg and contacts also... Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

First of all, look in the garbage. It's easy to move a folder there without knowing it.
Second, do a Spotlight Search (Cmd-Space), and search for a file you know should be there. If you find the file, there's a good chance that the other files you're looking for are there, too.
If you're in kind of a crisis mode, coming up with pat advice probably isn't a good policy - but I suggest investing in a backup drive in case anything goes wrong. A program like Time Machine can be a life saver.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run Option #4 to rebuild the database
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library. Select the checkbox to include orphaned photos.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Every morning all devices fail to connect

Every morning all the devices on our home network are unable to connect to the router (all wireless). The diagnostic lights are all correct, broadband, wireless and service all green. Cycling the power of the router fixes the problem.

I apologize about the issues you are having with your connection, but I will be glad to help. With the devices not connecting, does restarting those devices help with the connection or is it only repairable by restarting the gateway? What errors are you getting on your device? Does a hardwired connection still work?

I have been using extensions with V8 for several weeks and with last Firefox update this morning all are gone and I can't get them going again!

I installed V8.0.1 several weeks ago (or what I thought was V8.0.1) and got Awesome Screenshot (A.S.). Although it was stated that AS was not compatible with V8.0.1 I installed it any way and it worked. I have been using it every day until this morning. Another Firefox update came down this morning. Although I clicked the “Update Later” box, it updated at that time anyway. (This has happened every time I received an update in the past and clicked “Update Later” box, but that another problem; not the issue today.) After today’s update completed and I restarted Firefox. I check the version and it still was V8.0.1. All of my extensions were gone. I followed the instruction for re-enabling. All of the extensions were marked “disabled”. Only two of them had “enable” buttons (Garmin Communicator and InvisibleHand), both of which I didn’t load nor use. All extensions had “Remove” buttons. Is there any way for me to get A.S. working, I use it often. If not, how about “Screengrab”. That’s better than nothing.
I am using Windows XP Professional SP3.

There is a known issue where multiple instances of plugin container open if history or cookies are cleared. Are you, or some utility clearing firefox cookies or history, that could be the reason. This problem continues even if plugins are disabled in Firefox.
*Are you opening multiple instances of Flash Player ?
* Is the problem reproducible ? <br/> for instance does it always crash the plugin or cause it to hang if you use a particular site ?
If you get the FlashPlayer plugin crashing use the option to submit the crash reports, it is then possible to follow them up. It is possible to stop the plugincontainer opening, but that could result in a firefox crash. Of course the firefox crash can also send crash reports out, and that could be useful.

There are some problems with FlashPlayer currently under investigation, and there may be other threads in the forum about problems. (e.g. Bug 561019 - Plugin waveOutOpen hangs )
Sometimes using Firefox 3.6 is a workaround that helps with FlashPlayer problems, if you wish to experiment with that consider installing firefox Portable and using Firefox 3.6.23 (or soon 3.6.24) for tests with flash player, whilst keeping firefox 7 for day to day browsing.

Suddenly this morning all sound disappeared from youtube youtube via Firefox. Any other ideas? I've performed a SMC, repaired disk permissions, turned up volume.

On my iMac this morning I watched and listened to a youtube segment. I tried to replay it. No sound at all. I checked the volume, performed a SMC, repaired the disk permissions. I have the AppleCare Protection Plan and called them. Talked to them for over an hour. They couldn't help solve the problem. I have sound everywhere else but youtube. Any ideas on how to get sound back on youtube? Thanks.

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

Every morning all sounds on my iPhone 5 are gone/muted

I have noticed that every morning, sometime between 5AM and 7AM, I lose all sounds - ring tone, alerts, even the clickety-clack of the keypad. The sounds are restored only if I power cycle my phone. If someone out there has similar issues and know how to fix it I'd love to hear your input. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Actually, that was one of the first things I checked ever since this issue started. I've never used Do Not Disturb and I did check that it was deactivated.

What's this new update i got this morning all about??

I seemingly had to install a new update this morning and didn't know that it was coming or what it does. Does anyone know what it's all about??? I didn't see anything from VZW or the forum that we had an update coming. so far i did notice that the mail stayed on my Dinc after opening mail on the computer and it used to disappear off the phone once i opened it on the computer...

I'm running Ver. 17.0.1 on windows 7 and this morning all my extensions and plugins have just dissapeared. Help

Opened Firefox this morning and all addon extensions & plugins including my Roboform password manager are gone. In tools, Addons, extensions and plugins everything is blank. How can this happen? I'm running Windows 7 64bit Enterprise and this version of Firefox automaticly upgraded when it came out and everything was accepted by this version when it installed. It has been running for sometime now.

Cool bits + 6600gt not gud at all (artifacts)

as u can see i have installed coolbits with my 6600gt and nothing was overclocked, useing coolbits i press the overclocking thing were it optimises for best performance i went on a forum and most sad don't trust it so i returned the card to default settings (need i remind u that i didn't play any games with a card OC'd) anyway it worked fine the next morning (today) i start up all seems ok i play battlefield 2 all seems ok
about ~45 min later ..... bang artifacts everywhere colors all over the place grass streching overwater for miles lol. reminding u this is at default clock speed i don't no wat to do .. can any1 help me ??? it seem 2 happen with all my games and i don't want to go out and get a new card...

make sure its default clock. where you check it VGA clock speed? there is also 3 diferent performance lvls(2D,3D low performance and 3D performance and they have diferent clocks for GPU for each lvl...also diferent GPU Vcore on different paerfomance lvl... usualy with step 0.10V)... holdon "CTRL" key when loging into windows.. this will force stock VGA speed.... make sure Coolbits its configured to No overclocking...
download and run this: (ATi Tool) then will you see clock and memory speed of the VGA. click Default to reset to stock parameters GPU and Video.. then click on "Scan for Artifacts" and observe for errors.. if artifacts comes start decrease 1st GPU Frequency, if no changes then Memory frequency until artifacts is gone...

Dont worry about the name (ATi Tool) will work fine on your Video card works great on Nvidia based... Also you can observe your GPU Temperature during scaning for artefacts... post results.
