Guest Access - Easy creation of Guest-Vouchers

Hi
I have previous used WCS together with my WLC 2504 to create guest-users.
Employees in the corporation can through their AD-Credentials log into WCS, and create guest users for the Wifi-Network.
The WCS solution for creation guest users is however to complicated and many users choose to call our helpdesk insted of self-service. Other users create guest accounts and set them to never-expire, I then manually have to clean up in the never-expire accounts later..
We have 20 departments arround the contry, some bigger than others and therefore we don't have an reception in every department. Every employee should therefore be able to create guest-accounts themselves.
I've tried to use "Captive Portal" by Pfsense but it just issue a lot of vouchers there need to be printed and distributed to the departments, its a kind old-fashion.
The optimal solution would be a internal website where employees can log into. Here they could type their guests mobilephone number, and a 8 hour voucher wold be send by sms. Easy and end-user friendly.
Another solution could be a website that create an 8 our voucher with one-click and then print the voucher (insted of sms)
In WCS the users have to choose add-user - profile - controller list - expire time - etc etc before the login is created...
Can anyone recommend a good solution for this, not to expensive. We don't got guest that often.
Best Regards, Steffen.

ISE have rich Guest management features built in to it. ISE guest services enable you to provide secure network access to guests such as visitors, contractors, consultants, and customers.Cisco ISE provides web-based and mobile portals to provide on-boarding for guests (and even employees) to your company’s network and internal resources and services.
From the Admin portal, you can create and edit guest and sponsor portals, configure guest access privileges by defining their guest type, and assign sponsor privileges for creating and managing guest accounts.

  • WCS Guest access account creation - options

    Hi,
I'm looking in to different options for creating guest access accounts and need some help.  I'm new to the product and bascially have been asked if there are any other options that the Web GUI to create account.  We would like trigger the creation of an account using work flow.  Saw that there are We services availble with NAC but not sure how the products relate
It's a new setup - so assume the latest verion of WCS is being used.
    Thanks
    Alex

couple of thoughts as I'm going through the process of setting up guest access right now.
    1) use RADIUS and maintain the accounts through a RADIUS solution that provides the UI you desire.
    2) another thread somewhere here pointed to http://sourceforge.net/projects/simple-swag/ which is a web-based user account creator.
    3) use an external authentication page and perform the auth there.
we don't require guests to have accounts but we do limit when it is available at our various locations.

  • Cisco WLC Whitelist for Guest Access? and securing guest-access?

Is it possible to allow certain websites to bypass the web authentication pages, so that they do not need to autnehticate to get to our own website, but do have to if they wish to go anywhere else?
Looking at a 5508 model at the moment
    Thanks

    Hello Stephen,
Exactly how long is "an extended period of time?" Also, is this period enforced in the controller in some way, and if so, can it be configured?
I'm asking because I have a WLAN for guests with a pre-authentication ACL allowing VPN traffic (ESP, IKE, SSL).
For "normal" use of this guest WLAN you have to click on an "accept" button on a captive portal page before you can get anywhere with traffic not matching the pre-auth ACL.
The pre-auth ACL does actually work, but it stops passing any traffic after 5 minutes of use per user. This happens every time and is 100% repeatable.
So I'm very interested to know if we can change this apparent 5 minute restriction in some way.
    Thanks!

  • Wap321 guest access???

I want to set up internet guest access with my wap321.  No matter what I do the guest can see my whole network.  Not sure what your definition of guest access is but letting them brows around my assets is not mine.  I have a cheap Linksys router at home and that guest access works the way I want this AP to do.  I'm sure that I'm doing something wrong here but this AP was advertised easy to use and full of wizards.  No wizards for guest access...  In fact there is only one wizard by the way, i.e. basic set up.  Since I'm here asking, not easy as well.
My network includes the wap321, sg200-26p switch and the rv042g router.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Scott,
Thank you for contacting Cisco Small Business forum.
My name is Alena Patterson and I am a Cisco Engineer.
I am very sorry that you have this problem and thank you for describing your network topology that was most helpful.
I would like to point out that RV042G supports only port based vlan.  Which means that if you have two vlans configured on AP and on a switch, the vlans will pass through all way to the router interface.  But once it gets to the router interface, router will only have traffic for the vlan that you have router port configured for.
    Hope that explains the issue.
Also, here is the admin guides  for the RV042G and WAP321 if you need one for your future configurations:

  • 2504 with new-architecture enabled breaks MAC auth for guest access

    Hello,
We have (2) 2504 WLC running version 7.6.120. WLC1 is the local controller and WLC2 is an achor controller for guest-access. We need to incorporate a 3850 for use with the WLC2 anchor. The guest access is currently working with Mac-Auth and Mac-Auth-Fail to Web-Auth.
When converged access is enabled on the WLC1 and WLC2, the MAc-Auth no longer works. That is, the previously authenticated user is now redirected to the Web-Auth page. The local controller shows the user as authenticated but the Anchor controller shows the state as WEb-Auth-REQD.
Rolling back using "config mobility new-architecture disable" and rebooting resolves the issue.
Does anyone what changes from the old to the new that would break this mac-auth/web-auth configuration?

You should reach TAC for these sort of issues. Not many people deploying this CA setup yet & you may not get direct feedback immediately.

How can I set up a guest access point with a Time Capsule and an Airport Extreme? I am using a Telus router with the Time Capsule used as a wireless access point (bridge mode). I don't want the guest access point to have access to my network.

The Guest Network function of the Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme cannot be enabled when the device is in Bridge Mode. Unfortunately, with another router...the Telus...upstream on your network, Bridge Mode is indicated as the correct setting for all other routers on the network.
If you can replace the Telus gateway with a simple modem (that performs no routing functions), you should be able to configure either the Time Capsule or the AirPort Extreme....whichever is connected to the modem....to provide a Guest Network.

  • How do I disable guest access in the advanced web controls? E2000

Due to cisco connect not connecting and my rouer having some problems I have reset it and gone straight into the advanced web control panel. I have everything set up and running, but I see no way to turn off guest access. I do not want any "guests" to be able to access my  E2000 router, how do I disable that in the advanced web control panel?

sabertooth is correct. The Guest network is managed by Cisco connect software only.
You can reset the router and reconfigure it manually.
Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it manually.

  • ISE 1.2 Guest Access for EAP(Dot1x) Authentication

    Hi.
I want to use encryption for guest access.
In order to use the "RADIUS-NAC" in the WLC, you can not use or "Open + MAC" only "WPA + dot1".
    (Specification of the WLC)
When the "Open + MAC", return from the ISE at the time of the "Web Authentication" in the "Session-Timeout Attribute", I was able to forcibly disconnect the radio.
(Attribute is the same value as the (ISE TimeProfile) time the guest user can use)
If you connect to a wireless terminal to forced disconnect after screen of Web authentication is displayed, you can not login.
(Because the account has been revoked)
I want to make even dot1x this environment.
However, because it becomes the "re-authentication time" If dot1x, as long as the terminal is connected to the radio, it is not cut.
In addition, even in the setting of "Attribute Termination-Action = Default", does not return until the Web authentication.
(Status of the WLC remains "Auth Yes")
(Session of the ISE remains "Started")
Use the (EAP) Dot1x, Can I "is allowed to forcibly disconnected," "to match the time of TimeProfile" in the same way as "Open + MAC" thing?
    Thank you.

  • AP Groups - Guest Access - Anchor Controller

Need clarification - I think it does work
Does the AP Group feature work with the anchor controller guest access feature
SSID guest --- LWAP -- LWAPP -- Foreign WLC --- EoIP --- Anchor Controller --- VLAN 10 or VLAN 11
    ie
    Guests in Building 1
    SSID guest VLAN 10
    Guests in Building 2
    SSID guest VLAN 11
    Mark

    Hi,
As far as I know, AP Group only works locally in each controller, and the mapping between SSID and VLAN is done in the anchor controller.
Therefore, all clients will end up in the same VLAN, even if access points are in different AP Groups in the first WLC.
    Kind regards

  • Guest Access

I have OS X Lion Server running on a Mac Mini.  I just want to enable SIMPLE guest access to a share.  This is for a home with Mac and Windows 7 PC's.  I dont want user accounts, just using this Mac Mini (or trying to) as a simple file server/iTunes server.
I have created a share.  I have enabled guest access.  I have even given the entire drive/volume its on "Others" (or whatever it is) read/write permissions and reset the ACL's on the drive, with the share.  Windows computers (Windows 7) prompt for a user name and password.
Why?  I can login in with the admin account of the Mini server at Windows and get in....but I dont want to login.
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks,

No, need not have to buy any router. Just in order to show up the Guest Network you need to reinstall/reconfigure the whole router. While reconfiguring the router again make sure the existing Cisco connect should be uninstalled first and then follow the instructions provided in the link: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=e30f926604334d538668529cb50ad174_21463.xml&pid=80&...

  • ISE with CWA and wired guest access via WLC Anchor

Can an Anchor WLC (WLCa) provide a wired guest LAN service if the wlan guest access is using CWA?
We are deploying a WLAN only ISE solution (it is a full license ISE though) but they just want a few wired guest ports.  I was hoping to add L2 switch to the DMZ where the WLCa is and that the L2 switch wouldnt need any other config as the WLCa just bridges the wired to the wlan vlan.  This Im sure i have done before.
So now I have set wiredguest the same as i have done before ISE and my wired clients get an IP address, but when they redirect, the URL they get is different, and the redirect just doesnt work.
    It comes out as:
    https://my_ise_ip:8443/guestportal/Login.action?switch_url=https://my_ise_host/login.html&wlan=my_wired_guest_lan&redirect=www.google.co.uk
So does my simple L2 only switch need an ISE config on it or should the WLCa be handling or the redirection just as it would for a wlan device.

The ISE never receives an auth entry, so i dont believe the redirect is working for the wired client.  So even though the clients browser gets a redirect url which fails connection, the client info in the WLCa doesnt have a redirect ACL listed like a wlan client would

  • Wireless guest access

Hi Guys, I have a wireless requirement from a customer and the customer is looking for the below: 1. Wireless guest access that requires user to input email into the captive portal. But the email address must be verified that it contains certain selected domain names (e.g. example.com or example.org). Any other domain names will be rejected. 2. Customer is looking to add their own logo and change the formatting of the captive portal. Questions: 1. For email verification, does this feature come straight from the WLC standalone box or must ISE be purchased? 2. If the WLC is able to do this without ISE, any online guides that is able to do this? 3. For security reasons, am I able to limit the number of concurrent users using this captive portal? 4. How do a configure the age-out for each connected users after they have successfully logged into the captive portal? 5. Can I customize the captive portal page on the WLC and how do I go about doing it?

    Hi Mohanak,
It looks like the formatting ran out. Anyway, not sure if we are on the right topic here but let me get this straight. Customer has a Cisco 2504 Wireless LAN Controller. So, they would like to achieve the below features:
    1. Wireless guest access that requires user to input email into the captive portal. But the email address must be verified that it contains certain selected domain names (e.g. example.com or example.org). Any other domain names will be rejected.
    2. Customer is looking to add their own logo and change the formatting of the captive portal.
So, some of the questions I have are:
    Questions:
    1. There is a configuration on the WLC that allows guest users to login using email verification only. Does this feature come straight from the WLC standalone box or must ISE be purchased.
    2. If the WLC is able to do this without ISE, is the WLC able to check if the inputted field is a valid email? And can I configure in such a way a particular domain is allowed? (e.g. example.com is permitted but example.org and anything else is reject).
    3. For security reasons, am I able to limit the number of concurrent users using this captive portal?
    4. How do a configure the age-out for each connected users after they have successfully logged into the captive portal?
    5. Can I customize the captive portal page on the WLC and how do I go about doing it?

  • Wireless guest access with CWA and ISE using mobility anchor

My team is trying to demo wireless guest access using CWA with an ISE server.  We appear to be hitting an issue when combining this with mobility anchoring.
When we don't use a mobility anchor the authentication goes off without a hitch seemingly proving that the ISE configuration is sound.  The test laptop associates and gets redirected, auths, moves to the RUN state and access to the network is granted.
When the mobility anchor is enabled, the test laptop does get redirected, authentication is successful, but the process does not fully complete, as on the foreign controller the user is in RUN state whereas on the anchor the user is still stuck at CWA required.
Now, I've read the L2 auth occurs between the foreign controller and ISE, and the L3 auth occurs between the anchor controller and ISE, but this does not appear to borne out in packet captures of the process where both parts of the auth seems to go to and from the foreign controller and ISE.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has come across this issue, or has ideas where I should be looking in the config or debugs to find the root cause.
When setting up the controllers and ISE this guide (linked below) was used and the controllers are 2504 controllers on 7.5 series software and ISE is on the latest 1.2 patches:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps11640/products_configuration_example09186a0080bead09.shtml
To me it seems to be mobility related, but the authentication flow does seem to be off compared with what the guide says.
