Guest Controller License requirement ???

Hi All ,
Question regarding the Guest controller ( Ancher controller). ... What license will be required to guest controller ???
Assume i have a LAN controller with a license of 100 AP , and now i am going to plan for guest user  WiFi access as well but with separt Controller.
Will i need guest controller with 100 AP license ???
Your quick response will be helpful for me and if possible please share the URL for reference. Thanks.

There is no need for any license for anchoring Guest in you network. You can configure you current WLC for the same.

  • Development and marketing of SAP EP solutions - any licenses required?

    Hi
Not sure which forum to post this in, so - maybe Coffee Corner is a good start
My question is about the licensing required to development and marketing small add-ons / extensions for SAP Enterprise Portal.
Is it possible for the individual developer to develop and market small add-ons for EP in Java WDP, making use of a trail EP installation?
Do you need a special license for this (to develop commercial products)?
Maybe like a [SAP NetWeaver Developer Subscription|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/subscriptions/development?refer=subscriptionslandingpage], or the [SAP Composition Subscription|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/subscriptions/composition?refer=subscriptionslandingpage]?
Reading up on the [Subscriptions FAQ|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/subscriptions/software-faq#q-4-5], and it is not very clear:
Can I use my developed add-ons, extensions, developments, or modifications in a production environment?
In order to run your add-ons, extensions, developments, or modifications in a production environment, you need to purchase the applicable license from SAP. SAP customers or partners who already have an applicable license can use SAP NetWeaver in a production environment.
    So-
"SAP customers or partners who already have an applicable license can use SAP NetWeaver in a production environment"
I'm not expecting to run the SAP NetWeaver Developer/Trail version you get with the subscription in a production environment - the question is would any prospective buyers of your developed add-ons be able to run these in their (fully licensed) NetWeaver / EP production environments?
(I feel this FAQ is not answering its own question correctly).
Purchasing a full EP license is a little out of my budget, and even the two developer subscriptions mentioned above are only available in Germany & the USA (and I reside in neither of which).
Any suggestions from the guys & girls of the Coffee Corner?
    Thanks!

I am not a lawyer, but my interpretation of this is that the subscription systems are for "sneak previews" of releases and experimenting with the software to see whether you like it or not...
So this means that if you do development work on it and want to use it in a production environment, you will need a full license to run the software productively first, and then add your development to that licensed landscape.
This is a different topic to licensing your own development. For this you would need to become a solution partner and request your own namsepace in SAP, and then license it as optional software via service.sap.com.
For the "little individual" like you and me, this is not really an option IMO.
In some special cases, I have seen external coding included in the standard system, and you get a special mention for it sometimes in the coding comments.
I was thinking about the same as well because I am busy experimenting with a tool for making dual maintenance of roles during upgrades easier and know a few customers who would be interested in such a tool (possibly controlled centrally by a SolMan CTS+ with after import rule sets).
Being ABAP, I think I could try to sell it once or maybe twice... but after that I expect it would be "in the wild" and see others posting it here on SDN as well...
On the otherhand, ABAP is more of a hobby for me and I am not a guru at it like many others here. If I were to post it here myself... then I could benefit from other contributions to improving it and making it more robust - like an open source project.
    Just some thoughts,

  • How many large install licenses required for a 5.x deployment?

I have been trying to determine the correct license requirement for a 5.x install. There will be 1 primary server and six secondary servers. It is very clear that I need the base license for each ACS instance, but the documentation notes that for greater than 500 devices (IPs) that a large install license is needed for each ACS deployment. Does this mean that each ACS appliance instance will require a unique Large Install license or I only need one license (presumably installed on primary) and that will cover the IP requirements for all my secondaries?

On a single license is required for a deployment.
The large install license is installed on the primary and gets replicated to all the secondaries in the deployment that are connected to that primary

  • Is a license required for Oracle 11g installed on private developer box?

    Hello,
I wish to install Oracle 11g on my personal computer to test some software that hits a database. Will I be able to install/run 11g on my machine for this use, or will it (eventually) prompt me for a license key? If I need a license, is there a free developer license available? I can't seem to find any info on this.
How is the licensing structured around the 11g "XE" BETA (express edition)? Is there a licensing difference between XE and non-XE?
And finally, is there a good summary of what features are missing from the XE edition? I tried installing 10g XE, and for example, the "DEFAULT TABLESPACE xxx" SQL command was not recognized. I need this 'feature' (as well as others). I'm assuming I'm going to need to install the full 11g release, but I hope there is no license required.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You.

The general license agreement is here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/licenses/standard-license-152015.html
In short, yes - you can download the software and use it for testing/prototyping.

  • Licensing requirement in VMs & downgrading WS2012 to WS2008

Need clarity on few licensing requirements that we have -
Background - We have purchased WS 2012 SE licenses for one of our client. Few of client applications are supported only on WS 2008 environment. As per our setup, we had planned for few VMs alongwith physical servers. So the architecture will now be having
fewer downgraded servers running on WS 2008 and rest on WS 2012 or ALL downgraded on WS 2008 - as per the licensing requirement and our best fit to them - based on our understanding on the following :
Query 1 - WS 2012 SE comes with support of upto 02 VMs. Can we use 02 VMs + 01 Physical server through the same license ? or do we need to go on for more licensing ?
Query 2 - If we downgrade to WS 2008 - how many VMs it will support with the same licensing ?
Query 3 - Can we keep WS 2012 server on our base physical machines and run VMs on downgraded WS 2008 ?
    Thanks in advance !

Q: If I want to use the software from an earlier Windows Server version or edition, what are my options?
A: If you have Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter edition you will have the right to downgrade software bits to any prior version or lower edition. If you have Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard edition, you will have the right to downgrade the software to use
any prior version of Enterprise, Standard or Essentials editions.
The ability to downgrade does not change the licensing or support terms in which you can use the product; the purchased product (Windows Server 2012 R2) rights apply. This means that the license will continue to cover two physical processors and the virtualization
rights do not change. In addition, the Client Access License (CAL) corresponding to the purchased version will apply, as an exception; if you are running a previous version of one of the eligible downgrades you can use the corresponding CAL version if one
    exists.

  • Licensing Requirements

What are the Sharepoint 2013 licensing requirements of an intranet with approx 250 users with two Web Servers with all the application roles installed, additional if I use Enteprise licensing would such a farm support enteprise search?

As well as Server licenses, you will also need user CALs, You must also consider Server OS and SQL licenses.
Regarding the question about search, SharePoint provides an Enterprise grade search engine at all levels of licensing, however there is specific functionality available to users with Enterprise CALs.
In order to use these Enterprise Features (as well as BI, PerformancePoint, Visio Services, InfoPath and other Enterprise features), your users will need both a Standard CAL and an Enterprise CAL as these are known as Additive CALs.
As to will that farm topology support it, then that greatly depends on a large number of factors such as the size of your document corpus, the number of users actively searching at any one time and how often you will be performing search crawls etc. So,
yes it probably will, but it depends.

  • CWA with guest controller?

Existing environment has a dedicated guest controller. Principal would like to retain the guest controller in the DMZ and open ports for CWA to ISE inside the firewall. The question is on configuration of the wireless LAN. Should the foreign controller be configured for MAC auth? Obviously the anchor would need to be but not sure about the foreign.

When you have anchor/foreign, the web auth traffic always go to the anchor, so  with CWA, the traffic from the anchor to the ISE will need to be permitted . go through the following link this may of help

  • OS 2008 Licensing requirements for Server with 12 Processors

I need to upgrade  to Windows OS 2008 R2 on our server that has 12 processors. Was told that this server has 2 physical CPUs and each CPUs has 6 cores. Want to confirm that all I need is 2 processor license for this server.
    Can you please confirm this?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Windows Server 2008 R2 is not more available on the market. if you want to have Windows Server 2008 R2 than you purchase Windows Server 2012 R2 and downgrade to 2008 R2.
each Windows Server 2012 R2 license(Standard or datacenter) cover up to TWO processors. it means that for your Server with 2 physical CPUs you Need just one Windows Server 2012 R2 license.
for 2008 R2, on ly the datacenter Edition was licensed with CPUs. Minimum 2 CPU licenses for each datacenter Edition.
for Windows Server the number of cores does not change the
    number of licenses required.

  • SQL Licensing Requirement for E-Commerce

    Hi Experts,
Does anyone know the SQL licensing requirements for E-Commerce/Web CRM components?  Is it within Microsoft licensing guidelines to setup just a single user CAL for all users on the website, or do we need multiple user CALS or a Processor CAL?
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi AAron,
You will need a SQL CPU License for the webserver or indeed if you plan to use a single server.

  • Changing DHCP Scope on Guest Controller

I currently have a class C network configured on my guest controller. I need to change to a class B to expand my range of IP's for DHCP.

  • [svn] 2847: add code coverage ability to asc build.xml ( clover jar and license required to run)

    Revision: 2847
    Author: [email protected]

    Log Message:
add code coverage ability to asc build.xml (clover jar and license required to run)
    Modified Paths:
    flex/sdk/trunk/modules/asc/build/java/build.xml

I ran into this same problem when using ProGuard 4.1 for Java obfuscation. The problem is that there is a space in the path to your JDK/JRE, for example: c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_03. Because there is a space before the word "Files", it isn't working. The solution to to wrap quotes around that particular command-line argument. In ANT, I needed to use single-quotes (because double-quotes were already in use for the XML attribute) such as:
    <java jar="proguard.jar" fork="true" timeout="30000">
    <arg value="-libraryjars"/>
<arg value="'${java.home}/lib/rt.jar'"/> <!-- Notice both double and single quotes used on this line. -->
...rest of the arguments go here...
    </java>
Alternatively, using ProGuard's custom ANT Task, it would look something like (notice the use of double-quotes around the rt.jar location):
    <proguard>
    -libraryjars "${java.home}/lib/rt.jar"
...rest of the arguments go here...
    </proguard>
Anyways, I hope this helps you or anyone else who runs into the same problem. Both of these approaches have worked for me.

    Many Scenarios
DRM systems work in conjunction with digital jukebox software in the computer and the portable digital music player. They can be designed for various distribution scenarios. For example, songs downloaded from a music service may only be played as long as the user maintains a subscription. Titles can be configured to expire after they have been played some number of times or on a particular date. In many cases, the song titles are tied to some number of computers and portable players. The software prohibits the user from playing titles on other devices without obtaining additional licenses or permission from the vendor, which is why some people call DRM "digital restrictions management." DRM prevents users from converting purchased products to alternate formats that might be more convenient for playback.
    The Main Point
DRM enables the artists who create music to be paid for their efforts. If a user pays a dollar for downloading a song, a part of that dollar goes to the music company, and some percentage of that part goes to the artist.

There was a regression introduced in 3.5.1 where the Main-class attribute of the Coherence.jar was changed to a different main class leading to this effect.
The workaround is to specify the main class as part of the command line.
Assuming your current directory is the coherence home directory:
    Start a cache server:
java -cp lib/coherence.jar com.tangosol.net.DefaultCacheServer Start the command line:
java -cp lib/coherence.jar com.tangosol.coherence.component.application.Console And the above is basically what the coherence.sh/.cmd and cache-server.sh/.cmd scripts do.
