Apply 11i.ATG_PF.H Rollup 4 first - Note.365228.1 (About Oracle Applications Technology 11i.ATG_PF.H Rollup 4 (RUP 4))
The proper way to change the GUEST user password is:
1) Change the System Profile option "Password Case Option" from "mixed" to "insensitive" OR clear it at the site level. -- If this profile options exist
2) Stop all application servies (except the database and the database listener)
3) Change "s_guest_pass" in the Context file
4) Run AutoConfig
5) Start all application services
If you miss one of the above steps, clients will not be able to connect to the application.

  • ISE guest username generation

    Hi all,
I would like to change the way ISE 1.1 generates the guest usernames.
I don't want to generate based on email or at random, but using another method as default, like:
    <complete firstname>.<complete lastname>.<creation year>.< cr month>.<cr day>
    or something like that..
    Geert

That is not possible at the moment. Lots of people are requesting, so I guess the feature will arrive.

    Hello
Thanks for your advise. In fact Oracle Support also recommended me the same.
I have already set a plan to migrate to Family Pack K Rollup 3 and down the road I will have to apply the ATG_PF.H RUP6 that will resolve this issue.
However I cannot apply the AD.I.7 on Live with this bug and wait to apply ATG_PF.H RUP6 as it will take some time.
I am planning to uninstall the AD.I.7 and install the AD.I.6 and test this issue.(FYI..We did not get this issue with AD.I.5)
Can you please advise how I should proceed for the uninstallation of AD.I.7 and install the AD.I.6.Previous installed version was AD.I.6.

  • ISE 1.1 sponsor portal different type of guest accounts

    Hi there
I just played around with the ISE 1.1.2.145 sponsor portal. I have the following 3 requirements, but I don't see a way the get there with the actuals sponsor portal features:
    1. I would like to create a event user (one single user for multiple logins) with a given username and a given password
    2. I would like to create a single user with a given username and a given password
    3. How can I change the password of such a user
At the moment I am a little disappointed from the sponsor portal, there are not that features or I can't see the way to get there ;-)
Can anybody confirm the above problems?
    Best regards
    Dominic

It is possible to use internal users as well as AD users for admin.
I'm not actually sure whetehr it's possible to stop using Internal Users.
I have it working using both, primarily as I don't have AD credentials on customer site, so they use AD credentials and I stick to using Internal Admin User.
I still haven't understood your original question entirely, but if you select the guest username to be created based on email address (rather than first name/last name), then you can create a single username using a fictional email address, and allow the user to change the password on first login. You can then change the password to whatever you want.
    Does that fit?

  • IPad 2 looses username and password with Microsoft Forefront TMG

My company uses Microsoft Forefront TMG as a proxy on our Guest wireless access.  We have a guest username and password that changes every few weeks that iPads can use to access the internet at work - we are not allowed into the company network!  Although I can put the guest username and password into the authentication dialog, the username and password are lost after the iPad has been off for several minutes and I have to reenter them.  In the before iOS 5.0 versions I was able to set the wireless to automatically remember the password and to auto-fill the username and password each time.  Now, the username and password that come up were from the pre-iOS 5.0 settings - it doesn't remember the new username and password from the last time that I logged in.  This occurs with any App that attempts to log in after I turn the iPad on.  The same issue comes up with other iPads here as well.  Settings are: Auto-Join and Auto-Login set, HTTP Proxy Off.  IP address received from DHCP.
Is there any setting that I can use to get around this problem?
    LW

The Apps worked when I originally got it (several days ago), and I could also log onto the websites.
Could it be my wireless router? I did notice that when my macbook pro is asleep, and I open it up to awake it, it sometimes disconnects my wifi signal (everything connected to my signal will lose it) for about 20 seconds, and then it will come back to.
Not sure if that is connected to my problem with logging into websites and apps, but I'll just put that info out there.

  • Generate one time authentication for Guest on Cisco WLC

    Hi All
Sorry for my question, because I just started to work with Cisco WLC.
I have created some WLAN for local users with authentication by 802.1x + Radius by certificate.
For Guest I used PSK with MAC-filtering.
But I see that is not comfortable for Guests, each time they come and want to access our wireless, we have to come and get their MAC.
I checked on Internet and find that the wireless solution for Hotel, Resorts are very easy.
I also googled and see that Cisco WLC support Lobby Ambassador to generate Guest username/password. But as I checked, this username/password might only use with Web-Auth, this method is not comfortable for Guest who don't know they have to go to Web-Auth to do authentication (e.g: when they only get pop3 email, or vpn, ... not use browsers)
Could I use this method (or another method) for creating one time Guest wireless username/password or Guest PSK that can be used for authentication when Guests click to Wireless-SSID name only (no need to open web browser to do Web-Auth).
    Regards
    Hai

    Hi Choudhary
Thank you much for your information
Could I reconfirm about my concern.
With Cisco WLC, I can use WebAuth with Guest user only
If I want to use Guest user for authentication when guests connect to SSID (not by WebAuth, I means use Layer 2 security only, not Layer 3), I will have to use additional Radius Server.
And if I understand right, could you please recommend me software based Radius Server with support generate one time username/password for Guest, because I checked IAS/NPS on windows server may not have this function (ISE is not appropriate for us at this time, due to high expense)
    Regards

  • Monitoring guest wireless

Hi experts, I have a requirement by a customer that they will want to monitor the guest wireless access. Currently, we are proposing a Cisco Wireless Controller 5508 together with APs and the setup would be a dedicated VLAN for guest. I am wondering if Cisco ISE together with Cisco MSE would be sufficient?
Stuff to monitor and log are:
    1. Guest username (I guess this would be self sponsored)
    2. Company name
    3. Websites accessed
    4. Time, date and duration.
    5. Logs are to be kept for 3 months at least.
Are there any cisco solutions for this?

    Hi Marcus,
A WLC and ISE with Base Licenses will do most of what you need, but you will also need an ASA to capture the URLs visited. The ASA will forward the URL info off to ISE via Syslog so you can merge the ISE and URL logs in to one place.
Although this will tick your boxes and is an end-to-end Cisco solution, I wouldn't say it's a great one. Instead of ASA and Syslog, if you have WebSense (etc), you may be better off using that with WCCPv2 from a Cisco Router/ASA. This would allow you to perform transparent URL logging and filtering, and you can actually search the logs in a useful way.

  • Guest WIFI

    Hi All
We are using  WCS v5.0.56.0, a 4400 series WLC for Guest access, plus a mixture of 2100 series and 4400 series WLC's in our WIFI environment. The WLC's are running v5.2.193.0
I am running a unique client report in WCS filtering by our Guest SSID to establish which Guest users are accessing our WIFI network. However for most of the connections shown in the report the guest username field is blank. There are 1 or 2 usernames shown for some connections but not many.
I have checked the set up of the guest users and they are all the same with no difference to the ones actually showing in the report. In addition the guest users are connecting using the same foreign controller as the ones that are showing in the report.
Does anyone have any ideas why the majority of guest usernames do not show in the report ?
    thanks

    Hi Mick,
First of all, WCS 5.0 is not compatible with WLC 5.2.
Second, as suggested by Leo, you need to upgrade (unless you have a valid reason not to do so). 5.x versions are full of bugs comparing to later versions that are more stable.
Third, You don't see the username on the WCS, but what about the WLC? does it show the correct username?

  • Wireless guest access with Airspace

I understand the Airspace products have some guest access capability built into them. I have a hotel customer that has the following requirments.
First, he will have an AP in each conference room. He would have each AP set up with a different SSID. The guest username password used for logging in would be assigned to the SSID and be different for each conference room. I've been told this is not possible. While you can have more than one guest username/password they are not associated with any one AP or SSID.
Secondly, he would also like to be able to control the amount of bandwidth each conference room/group is assigned.
Can the Airspace stuff do this, or even something close to it?

    Yeah - no.
The Airespace guest functionality is basic - you define an SSID which has 'WEb Auth' set on it, and users are prompted for a username/password that is auth'd against radius.
The sort of granular stuff you are looking for isn't there - maybe look at BBSM or something similar, although I don't know how well that interfaces with AireSpace if at all..

  • Schedule a reccuring Guest account

    Hello
We have recently rolled out a wireless lan using WLCs and Prime Infrastructure 1.3.
We have the lobby accounts working with creating guest accounts for web auth users.
We are looking at having an account permanantly set to allow access on the guest WLAN, but would like this account to automatically reset it's password to something autogenerated every week (or month). The new credentials would then be emailled to a certain email address.
I haven't been able to find an obvious way to configure this. Can this be done?

    Hello,
To schedule a recurring guest user account in NCS, follow these steps:
Step 1 Log in to the NCS user interface as lobby ambassador.
Step 2 Choose Schedule Guest User from the Guest User page.
Note You can also schedule guest users from the Configure > Controller Template Launch Pad > Security > Guest User option.
Step 3 On the Guest Users > Scheduling page, enter the guest username. The maximum is 24 characters.
Step 4 Select  the check box to generate a username and password on every schedule. If  this is enabled, a different password is supplied for each day (up to  the number of days chosen). If this is disabled (unselected), one  password is supplied for a span of days. The generation of a new  password on every schedule is optional.
Step 5 Select  a Profile ID from the drop-down list. This is the SSID to which this  guest user applies and must be a WLAN that has Layer 3 authentication  policy configured. Your administrator can advise which Profile ID to  use.
Step 6 Enter a description of the guest user account.
Step 7 Choose limited or unlimited.
•Limited:  From the drop-down list, choose days, hours, or minutes for the  lifetime of this guest user account. The maximum is 35 weeks.
–Start time: Date and time when the guest user account begins.
–End time: Date and time when the guest user account expires.
•Unlimited: This user account never expires.
•Days of the week: Select the check box for the days of the week that apply to this guest user account.
Step 8 Choose Apply To  to restrict a guest user to a confined area by selecting a campus,  building, or floor so that when applied, only those controllers and  associated access points are available. You can use AP grouping to  enforce access point level restrictions that determine which SSIDs to  broadcast. Those access points are then assigned to the respective  floors. You can also restrict the guest user to specific listed  controllers or a configuration group, which is a group of controllers  that has been preconfigured by the administrator.
From the drop-down lists, choose one of the following:
•Controller List: select the check box for the controller(s) to which the guest user account is associated.
•Indoor Area: choose the applicable campus, building, and floor.
•Outdoor Area: choose the applicable campus and outdoor area.
•Config group: choose the configuration group to which the guest user account belongs.
Step 9 Enter  the e-mail address to send the guest user account credentials. Each  time the scheduled time comes up, the guest user account credentials are  e-mailed to the specified e-mail address.
Step 10 Review the disclaimer information. Use the scroll bar to move up and down.
Step 11 Click Save to save your changes or Cancel to leave the settings unchanged.
Follow these steps to schedule a recurring guest user account in WCS.

  • Can't get AirPort Express working with TIOD on iPad

    Hi All,
I realise this is not the support forum for TIOD, but not having been able to find such a thing or a response from their Facebook page, I'm asking here in the hope that someone else has encountered and overcome this issue.
I'm trying to connect our iPad 2 to the AirPort Extreme's shared disk. On the iPad I'm using TIOD 1.7. That's according to the AppStore, the app itself seems not to display specific version information. Everything else around here successfully connects to the Airport Extreme, and the iPad successfully connects to shared Windows folders. However, I haven't been able to connect the iPad to the AirPort Extreme.
The iPad successfully connects to the AirPort Extreme WiFi network, but I haven't been able to successfully log on at the TIOD prompt when connecting to the disk. The AirPort Extreme disk security is configured for disk password with read-only guest. I've tried logging in with only the disk password, and also with only the guest username and no password.
I've also changed disk security to device password, and I've also configured user accounts and tried them all with TIOD without success.
I've left a message on TIOD's Facebook page and emailed the address given on their web site without response so far.
I'll be really grateful for any suggestions to overcome this problem.
Failing all else, I'll appreciate suggestions for a simple, reliable app to:
browse the secured AirPort Extreme disk
view files and play media (including media that the iPad doesn't natively support - i.e. app includes own player)
    copy files to/from iPad
    Quite a mouthful, but I'm hopeful .
    Many thanks,
    Francois

I have a similar problem. I have both a MacBook Pro and iBook; for quite a while both were working with the Linksys router. However, I had a crash with the MacBook Pro and began having increasing problems using Airport to connect. It has stopped working entirely; I have to connect via ethernet. I thought maybe changing the network name and password would help because it always said I was using an invalid password when I tried to join the network. The iBook connected without problems to the new network; however, the MacBook still refuses to accept the password even though it is correct.
Internet Connect says that the computer is connected to the network and shows a strong signal; however, it always says that there was a problem joining. It cannot get access to ISP or to the local network.
I tried to configure the IP address to the router manually (the router says that the computer is connected also and I used that address). It seems that there is something screwed up in the airport software on the MacBook. I haven't tried to connect to a public network since the trouble started so don't know if the problem is only restricted to my router.
    Any experts with ideas?

  • Table joins, templates, null-checks, layer confusion and localization

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this network.
I am designing a website that does several things, one of which is to display latest news items on the home page.
The news items are stored in the database as a table with a basic structure: id, poster_id, postDate, subject, body
where id is the primary key, poster_id is a foreign key to the users table, postDate is the date at which posted and the rest is obvious.
I want to display these items with a basic template:
    subject by author at postDate
    body
    <hr />
When a user changes his/her username, the updated username will be shown on the news listing. This is the reason why I'm using a foreign key.
I've defined poster_id such that it can be set as NULL, meaning it was not created by a registered user, but a guest. Don't ask me why I'd want a guest to post a news item :P
When it comes to getting the news posts from the database and resolving the poster_id to a username i just use a join. However, when poster_id is NULL i obviously don't get a username for that post but a NULL. The word "Guest" has to come in when the poster_id is null. So in my template you'd think i could just put a null check as I can't do it in sql (as far as i know anyway).
Now, I'm using localization on the site and the word "Guest" is different depending on the locale. So you'd think i could just use a null check and a locale->get('guest_username') and that will return the word "Guest" in the right language.
If I want to view news on different pages, and more importantly, in different forms such as just author: subject, I come across a problem. I want to avoid having to repeat that null check code on every template that views news posts. Complicating things, I want anywhere that display a username to do the null check and return the locale'd guest username if it is a null.
Where do I put this null check? The locale object is part of the model layer, because other model objects use it.
Is this the presentation or the model layer's responsibility? I am relatively new to this design patterns thing, but I'm getting there :) I've thought about using wrapping classes but I'm just not sure at this point and I need smart people's opinion :)
I hope I was able to explain my problem properly and I thank anyone in advance for taking the time to read and give their insight on such a problem. Thank you :)

Don't ask me why I'd want a guest to post a news item :PI think this is a fundamental mistake. A better design, IMO, would be to have an explicit GUEST or anonymous poster ID, but not null.
When it comes to getting the news posts from the database and resolving the poster_id to a username i just use a join. However, when poster_id is NULL i obviously don't get a username for that post but a NULL. The word "Guest" has to come in when the poster_id is null. So in my template you'd think i could just put a null check as I can't do it in sql (as far as i know anyway).See above.
Now, I'm using localization on the site and the word "Guest" is different depending on the locale. So you'd think i could just use a null check and a locale->get('guest_username') and that will return the word "Guest" in the right language.Localization should be a UI issue. It should be all sorted out by the time you get to the persistence layer.
If I want to view news on different pages, and more importantly, in different forms such as just author: subject, I come across a problem. I want to avoid having to repeat that null check code on every template that views news posts. Complicating things, I want anywhere that display a username to do the null check and return the locale'd guest username if it is a null.If it's hard to do, it's worth re-thinking. Don't use null when there are sensible non-null alternatives.
Where do I put this null check? The locale object is part of the model layer, because other model objects use it.
Is this the presentation or the model layer's responsibility? I am relatively new to this design patterns thing, but I'm getting there :) I've thought about using wrapping classes but I'm just not sure at this point and I need smart people's opinion :)L10N and I18N issues should be the responsibility of the presentation layer, IMO.

  • After recent updates, Gnome freezes randomly. Video problem?

I've been having some problems lately that I didn't have before recent updates.
My desktop will freeze randomly and my only option is to switch to a VT and enter multi-user mode with `systemctl isolate multi-user.service`. X doesn't crash though. My Gnome Desktop just freezes entirely, but the mouse pointer continues to move around just fine. When I enter multi-user mode, Xorg.0.log says that the server exited successfully.
Below are error messages in dmesg, systemd journal, and Xorg.0.log.

Any idea what might be causing these freezes or what info I can further provide?
EDIT: Processes in X are apparently not crashing, only the video output is. For example, if I'm running applications with sound, I continue hearing sound though the graphics are completely frozen. Is there a way to refresh the graphics or video card somehow?

I think i got my problem, but i don't know how to solve it: after much troubles i found out that whenever i have an SMB connection with a machine that then goes down/disconnect from network without me unmounting the share BEFORE it, then BOOM, everything freeze.
I noticed this only because i was sharing a directory with my brother and noticed i had the froze as soon as he got disconnected from the network: so i asked him to power on that machine and.. magic! My machine unfroze instantly!
But now, how to fix that?! Is it due to my /etc/fstab? Does this really matter with nemo/nautilus mounted shares? This, however, depicts the machine in question (the one that, disconnecting from the network, caused my own to freeze)
    //themachine.local/shared /home/username/mountpoint/ cifs noauto,guest,username=myname,password=mypassword,uid=1000,gid=100 0 0
At last I found out what's my problem, hopefully your situation is similar so that we can work out a solution on this one.
THANKS! I'm quite sure this is the reason gnome shell freezes for me as well. I was mounting my box.com cloud with this entry in /etc/fstab:
    # box.com account
    https://www.box.com/dav /home/abtz/Box davfs rw,user,noauto 0 0
If anyone has an idea for how to fix this, I'm all ears. For now, I'll just remove the entry from /etc/fstab.
I'm running vanilla Gnome, with only the Frippery shutdown menu and battery remaining extensions installed.
