GUI and GPU for MacPro Da Vince Resolve system

I am setting up my MacPro to run Resolve. Black Magic have certain card configs they recommend (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/detail/?sid=3948&pid=4448&os=mac&leg=0) but I am getting conflicting reports of the best way to go and in fact what is possible to install physiaclly. I have a new nVidia GTX 285 card for mac ready to go but not sure I can install it while retaining the ATI Radeon HD 5770 the system came with. I was then considering replacing the 5770 with a GeForce GT120 but now I'm nervous cos I hear it isn't great for Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
I will have the BMD Decklink Extreme 3D card also but no RAID at this point.
Thoughts and advice please?

BMD continues to state that GT120 is best combo with GTX285, and faster than 5770 / Quadro 4000 combo. Believe this and save money, or needlessly spend extra to have a slower system.

Another way to read this "Apple & Nvidia should stop acting like children and support Fermi cards in Mac Pro. The Quadro 4000 is very overpriced for the rather mediocre level of performance it provides. A set of used cards you can pick up for $400 can run rings around these newer cards"

You should be able to go > App Store > App store (menu) > store > view my account > sign in. Where do you vary after following this point. In between ID summary and Settings should be a section marked iTunes in the cloud and directly below but within that section, the message we are seeking.
I'm not doubting you, just don't see why you have this problem.

Does anyone have any example how to combine one class which calculates or in this particular case searches for devices in vicinity (while looping in order to check enviroment constantly) with GUI created thank to NetBeans.
Main problem is that as a novice I have no idea how to put content of variables in fields and refresh them periodically. Variables are in another class but I might try to connect them in one final class.

Your requirements are not 100% clear. In your message you say you are looking for SNC between SAP GUI and SAP ABAP, but the help page you posted a link for is not related to this, but explains how to use SNC for CPIC.
If you are looking to use SNC for authenticating users of SAP GUI to SAP ABAP, then you have a number of options. If your SAP ABAP server is on Windows then SAP have a library which can be obtained for no cost to give you basic SSO using Active Directory authentication (aka Kerberos). If your SAP application server is on Unix or Linux, then you can look on SAP EcoHub for third party SAP certified products which provide this functionality. SAP have also just launched a new product which has some functionality for SAP GUI SSO, but this is not free.
Please let me know if you have any more questions or need clarification.

What GPU for MacPro (Early 2008) 8-core 3,2ghz?

I'm putting together my new system.
Mac Pro (Early 2008)
2 x 3,2 ghz Quad-core Intel Xeon
12GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
SSD boot disk
ATI Radeon HD 4870
I want to upgrade the GPU, but I am really confused with all the card names en specs.
I will be using Premiere Pro most of the time.
I'll be using AE as well, but not as much as PP.
I'll be using Davinci Resolve as well.
So I think I prefer Nvidia cards, because of the Cuda.
I was looking into the GTX 680 or GTX 750ti.

If you stay on the path Apple has prepared, things are usually pretty straightforward. If you step off that path, you MAY find yourself lost in the deep woods. Then again, you may be able to do far more than the straight Apple solutions ever allowed.
If you read that user tip closely, it says you may encounter issues with Mac OS X version requirements, 6-pin and 8-pin aux power requirements, or other issues that are not obvious at first glance. Occasionally you may have to add an additional power supply. Readers have even reported that their cheater cables appeared to work fine, but when they stressed the card their Mac shut down on over-power.
Just do your homework and make sure you are ready for the problems users have reported in using that card.

GUI and ABM for multiple runs

I am trying to launch a GUI to my agent-based model (Repast with Eclipse) so that being able to run the model for many times. I am going to produce input parameters based on different distributions for different runs from GUI. Usually we should use batch file for different runs. However, I want to use GUI for this reason because I have GUI that can take care for one run but not for many runs. Could you help me with your idea in this respect?

Open System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects
Select: Play user interface sound effects
And make sure the Mute box is not selected.
Now open Mail. From the Mail menu bar clik Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
Make a selection from the: New messages sound pop up menu.

Graphics For GPU and GPI for Da Vinci

I want to run Da Vinci Resolve 9 in MAC PRO 6 core. I need a Graphic card for GPI and other for GPU. I think i can use 4 slots bcoz i cant afford a PCI expander. So 1 for capture, 1 for raid, 1 for GPI and 1 for GPU.
Does ATI Radeon 5770 or 5870 and Quadro 4000 work well together or which 2 graphics work for my purpose. Plz suggest

GTX 670 4GB for graphics processing and no need for 2nd GPU with 10.8.2+
You do realize there are two 6-pin power ports for GPUs but ways to finangle more power w/ 2nd small PSU.
Avoid Apple RAID but if you want hardware RAID6 for instance, fine.
A single slot gpu not double wide means also having to look outside for say GTX 650 or 5xx maybe?

MacOS 10.9.3 Update breaks Resolve/OpenCL for MacPro 6.1 D700

Best software to test with is Resolve. (uses OpenCL (GPU) very much).
Well, for us it hangs way before rendering. When working with nodes (serial , circle and outside) all of a sudden, it hangs a little, now the monitor stops outputting, when selecting a new clip, the viewer does not update... Now I just save (and that takes a long time as well), then quit, and I have to reboot, because other programs starts to hang as well. Managed to make a 10.9 install on a MacBookPro, updates to 10.9.2 and started my MacPro from this systems. All ok. Shame on you Apple!

It's a known bug with Resolve and 10.9.3.
Unfortunately no one is yet sure whether the bug is on BlackMagic's side or Apple's side.

Timeouts while using LDAP and TNSNAMES for names resolving

I use an OID for Oracle Names resolving at the client-side.
I tested some errorcases because there are no HA-features implemented for the OID.
So i have an LDAP.ORA with the adress and the ports of the OID.
My SQLNET.ORA has this content:
NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN = <my_company_domian>
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (LDAP, TNSNAMES)So actually there is no problem. But when i turn off the OID-Server there iss a timeout of about 20 second to resolve the name.
So my problem is not the resolving. I only want to know if there is a possibility to minimize the timeout to switch between LDAP-name-resolving to tnsnames.ora-name-resolving?

I already can test this because i have a productive OID and one for test-purposes. So at the moment i have two OIDs listet in my LDAP.ORA.

2 OIDs+TNSNAMS or 1 OID+TNSNAMES in both cases your options could perhaps prevent the timeout. I'm not really a system administrator, but i can discuss it with my colleagues here.
Do you know a smart way to remove or repoint an DNS-entry in a windows enviroment. For such actions i have also to monitor the status of the OID-services or the servers and make the dns-changes if something is crashed.

Is it possible to use the Intel graphics for the display and use the NVIDIA GPU for rendering at the same time?

I have been trying to figure this one out for a couple of days. I found the CUDA mac drivers on NVIDIA's website and installed them. I have been working in Blender. After the driver install I can now switch between CPU and GPU processing, Great. It works, but I am not experiencing decreased render times like I had read about or expected. It's about the same. While using the GPU for rendering, my OS is choppy, leading me to wonder if there is a way to use the NVIDIA just for computing power?
Any help would be grand.

One thing to check is if your hosts file is modified. Open the Command Prompt and type: notepad %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
This will open a read-only copy of your host file in Notepad. Are there any entries in this file regarding adobe.com?
The other thing you can do is open the Developer Tools in the Chrome browser. On Windows press Ctrl + Shift to open them. Switch to the Network tab. Reload the page by pressing Ctrl + r. Check for any 4xx or 5xx errors which should be colored red.

Java Swing/AWT and FX is so old school! Give me HTML and CSS for GUI!

I am a seasoned programmer and I feel it's time JAVA implements a GUI system where it uses HTML and CSS for the GUI. For the love of god just look at the interfaces you can make using HTML and CSS alone. I am a big fan of Java Swing and the recent GUI designer for FX is quite cool. But they are just not as simple as HTML and CSS. And JavaFX has some interesting requirements for the graphics.
I know it is possible to use JavaFX and implement the WebView/WebDriver and make it load a HTML page, etc... but why go through all the trouble?
Just imagine... if you make Java where it has powerful back-end to do what it does best and the HTML/CSS powered GUI on the front-end. It will make the lives of many developers much much easier.
I am not sure whether a Swing designed GUI will be faster than a HTML designed GUI... but if you look at a traditional browser and how fast it renders HTML/CSS, I am sure if Java had a native Form where it uses HTML and CSS to render the GUI, Java will make the dreams of many programmers a reality.
