  • Change GUI Language in Crystal Reports XI

How can I change the GUI language of a installed Crystal Reports XI? At the installation, I have choosen "English" but now the GUI is in German.
As I found out, the GUI language depends on the regional settings in Windows. I have "Switzerland" as the default settings, so it seems the Crystal Reports sets the language to German. Is there a registry key or something else to change the language manually?

    Hi Stephan,
When you install CR XI it should have the option to select all languages, I don't recall exact steps now, I don't have it installed any more.
Try doing a Repair install in add/remove programs and select Custom to choose all the languages. It should then select your default local.
CR 2008 now gives you the option in the Designer itself to set this option.
You can also upgrade to CR XI R2 for free, use your XI Keycode to install it and be sure to select the languages you want to support.

  • Can't change gui language

How can I change the gui language to german?
I can use the german gui in my sql developer version 1.5. If I update the version 1.5 to 1.5.1 through the "Check for Updates" button, the gui is still displayed in german language.
If I download the sql developer 1.5.1, extract the program and execute the sqldeveloper.exe file, the gui is displayed in English.
In both cases it's the java included version, on Win XP SP2 (german version).

Unfortunately I haven't full list of all neccessary users. I've tried to create <sid>adm user and SAP_LocalAdmin SAP_<sid>_GlobalAdmin, SAP_<sid>_LocalAdmin groups, but nothing happens.
Have anybody positive experience in installing of developer workplace to location different from english?

  • Set GUI Language to English

    Post Author: Ottenheim
    CA Forum: General
    Hello,
I want to set de GUI Language of Crystal Reports to English. My regional settings are Dutch but I don't want to change that. Is there another way to change this. I'm using all my applications in English and only this one is Dutch.
I've read somewhere that I have to delete my language DLL's from crystal report but than it only works when i start crystal directly from the executable, not when double - click the report and choose open with. All my colleagues have the same problem.
Really strange because with all other developer software it is possible to select a GUI language.
    Hope someone can help me.

I've found the solution. I've renamed the english resource file to the dutch and vice versa. Now Crystal starts without running the setup for installing the missing language. Still strange this isn't an option in Crystal Report.

  • EA3: Change GUI language

Is it possible to change the GUI language? I am running a Windows with german language settings, but i want an english gui for sql developer.

That is weird, I have the same ORA-12705 error
message but I didn't change my GUI language, I had it
from the start.I think it's more a driver issue than a SQL Developer issue. I have seen this with other applications as well that change user.language to something different than the OS "Locale" (not that I'm using an english Windows XP, but the locale is set to Germany)
Btw: this was not at all necessary with SQL Developer 1.2
You can check which one of the NLS settings is giving
you a hard time by right-clicking in the logging page
    - log screen and choosing "Fine" in the change log
level submenu, it will log the "ALTER SESSION"
requests it's trying to execute, and you will know
which one actually fails. Then you can input your own
SR... :)With logging page I assume you mean "View -> Log", right?
The only context menu I get in that panel are the the usual text selection items. Select, Select Al, Clear, Copy. Nothing to select the log level
But it's empty anyway and as the connection cannot be established at all, nothing is written to the log page at all. Enabling "Write log to file" doesn't write anything either.

  • How to change the GUI language to english

After updating to SQL Modeler 3.1 I notice that the GUI language is german now, corresponding to the local settings of my computer to swiss-german.
I share the same needas as expressed by Byte64 at FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2009:
While i appreciate the globalization efforts, i feel much better having certain programs with an English user interface for the simple reason that when i need to communicate with someone else who doesn't speak Italian, i can talk about menu entries, settings, button names using a commonly understood language and without having to guess what the original entry in English language could be.
I have only to add, that the documention is also in english.
Unfortunately I could not reproduce his workaround. So that old problem is again open at present with SQL Modeler 3.1.
Can you please tell me how to change to software to use english menues communication.
    regards LPNO

Thanks Dimitar, your hint helped and solved the problem.
As I work with datamodeler64.exe I added the lines below into datamodeler64.conf
    AddVMOption -Duser.country=US
    AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
after this I got english dialogs.
Still I have gathered some more information that my be helpfull for others to solve the same problem:
When adding the above two lines to datamodeler.conf, nothing happend. I still got german dialogs.
a.) when starting datamodeler64.exe (according to normal expectations)
b.) when starting datamodeler.exe (this is quite surprising)
After all the problem is solved.

  • Ultraslim Plus Wireless KB&Mouse GUI language

    Hi.
I got a brand new Lenovo Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse combo, installed the newest drivers from Lenovo, but its GUI is in my regional language. I'm in Slovakia, but my complete OS and all my programs are in English, so I want to have it in English language. How to change it? There are no options for changing the language in the GUI. I found some language IDs in some .ini files where Slovak is 19, English is 1, but I didn't find anything where I could change that number. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
    Mandula
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Solution: Deleted all other languages fields in the .ini files, left English fields there. No restart needed, instant English GUI. The files I deleted data in:
    C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Lenovo Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard & Mouse\KBDUI.ini
    C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Lenovo Mouse Suite\xManager\xManager.ini
    C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Lenovo Mouse Suite\xManager\001\xProCtrl.ini

  • How to get SAP application language only with SQL code

    Hi all,
is there a way to get the current language only whith a sql query on the Database?
I know that Ican find that information from the Application object of the UI Api but in this case i can't access them.
    Thanks in advance, Luca.

    Hello
You cannot get the Application language (GUI Language) from SQL, because it is stored on the client machine filesystem
    Location is defined in
C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\Conf\b1-config-path.txt text file, which by defaulf is:
    %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One\b1-current-user.xml file

  • Crystal Reports XI language

With CR XI, the designer uses the language of the Regional Settings. I have Vista in english, but with german-luxemburg regional settings. I want to continue using CR in english. What can I do?
    Patrick

Hi, I find this behaviour in CR very disturbing. It's a major hassle that the GUI language can't be set to English. As it is now, I get the "great honor" (see the irony don't you?) to work with CR in Swedish. When I need to search for solutions on problems I can just forget about that since there are litterally NO help or documentation available in Swedish while there are plenty in English. The online help in CR isn't translated btw. If I still attempt it I have to translate errormessages and terms to English first, and if I don't make the translation exactly like the guys translating the GUI then I'm just as much toast anyway.
So, how far back in versions do I need to go to get the English GUI back? I made the jump from CR 4.5 to CR XI so I really have no idea when this folly with translating to the local language started. I can't go on using CR in Swedish, it takes way too long to find solutions on problems.
    Regards,
    Anna-Karin Johansson
Ps. As for "the logic is if you are using one language you would also be designing reports in that same language", that is soo not true in todays international world. Ds.

  • Language Selection in UDI has no effect

    I started
this topic while ago on ConfMgr forum, but I didn´t get any decent answer, I also found
this Blog but it doesn´t work for me with MDT 2013
I have MDT 2013 integration in ConfMgr 2012 R2 and I use MDT based Task Sequence with UDI. If I select any language from UDI page, the selection has no effect. It will be installed as UK. I use native unattended.xml from MDT Settings package.
Could someone confirm, does it even works or not? Only selection which works from that page, is the GUI language itself since I have integrated Language Packs to my image, but keyboard layout and user locale are always UK.
    I also tried;
    - to set default variables of languages in TS
    - to use simple unattended file done with wism
    - MDT files and settings packages are updated to DP after change

    Hi ,
I'm using MDT 2013 (hacked to use UDI deployments without SCCM) and have exactly the same behaviour.
Did you ever crack this one?
Why is UN-GB not an optional language pack available in the UDI designer Microsoft!!

  • EIM/WIM v4.3: Language support

    Hi all,
I'm trying to determine the different GUI language it supports. The list i got so far
Swedish, Russian, Danish,Canadian French, Portuguese, Dutch, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese
Any idea if GUI supports Asian languages (Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean)? It supports email and chat content in those language but how about the GUI?
    Thanks!
    -JT-

The list is what you have. Email content and chat content are independent of what the GUI is - that's obvious surely? I could have a GUI in English and you could chat to me, and email me, in Mongolian without compromise.
Remember that only the Advanced licence will enable language selection by the agent as they login on the web page. There is a drop-down and they select the language they want. It remembers your selection.
If you go to the web page for the first time, it displays in English. Now you select Spanish and log in - the GUI will all be in Spanish. Logout and exit the browser.
Come back to the URL and now the instructions (login, password) will be in Spanish. If you log in it will be in Spanish.
    Regards,
    Geoff

  • ThinkVantage System Update - wrong language

I'm currently running ThinkVantage System Update 4 (4.00.0030) on Windows 7 Pro x64 and I have the same problem. The program uses your Regional Setting FORMAT  to get the updates. This is the first tab option in Regional Settings (not your Regional Setting Input Language nor your Regional Setting System Locale). Why, I didn't find a good answer to that? The problem seems to persist from the early versions of System Update ; we are at version 4... common!!?
You can actually override the GUI language of System Update by changing the value of this registry key :
    For Win 7 x64 :
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Lenovo\System Update\LanguageOverride
For x86 (32 bits) version, I think this is the key :
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\System Update\LanguageOverride
... to the language of your choice (EN, FR, DE, IT, ES...).
Unfortunately, this is just the GUI language, not the language for which System Update will retrieve update from the server. The program will still use your Regional Setting FORMAT for this.
I've read many post on the topic but didn't find a right solution. The dowloaded software and drivers language should be retrieved as per language setting of the OS not on date, time and number formats. If it's too hard to get the right setting from a multilanguage system, why not simply put a configurable language option? Is Lenovo going to fix the problem?
For now, the workaround is to dumbly set the Regional Setting Format to the "language" you wish before starting System Update and set it back to your preferred format when all update are installed. Any better idea?
P.S. Could a mod rename and move this topic in ThinkPad Forum please, because I think this is more related to System Update software than X Series Laptops
    X201 tablet w/ Multitouch, 8-Cell Battery
    Core i7 620LM (2.00 GHz) w/ 4 GB DDR3 Memory
    Windows 7 Pro 64 bits, HDD 320GB 7200RPM

I bought an X200T in Belgium, chose the English version of Windows Vista Business upon first boot.
Yet some Lenovo  software is still in Dutch.
The ThinkVantage System Update wants to download updates for Windows Vista NL instead of ENG.  I have already downloaded the latest English version of ThinkVantage System Update but it insists speaking Dutch to me and does not recognize my system as being English.
Installing NL updates for an English OS is a recipe for disaster, I presume, so I cannot use that tool.

  • Problems (Languages) with Installation: Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard (OEM)

    Hallo, dear Adobe-Forum-Community! ;-)
I've recently bought, here in Germany, an OEM-Version of "Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard".
It's an international Software-Version (Languages: Brazilian, Portuguese, Norwegian) !!!
I know that it's possible to change the GUI-Language into ENGLISH.
Unfortunately I've lost the documentation for this workaround. :-<<<
I'm sure to meet some really cool Abobe-Freaks with great skills & expierience.
I NEED YOUR HELP VERY BADLY.
    -BÖC-

May i suggest  you go to Acrobat Preferences->International, in Application Lauguage drop-down list, select "Choose at application startup" and then relaunch Acrobat. Language Selection dialog should be shown up to let you choose either English, Brazilian, Portuguese, or Norwegian language.
    Hope this help.

  • Error when trying to set a date type edit field

    Hi all
I have an edit text field in a form which is bounded to a date type
    database field using dbDataSource.
When i try to set the edit text field value with Today's date by code.
I recieve an error message that the value which
i'm trying to set is not legal. the  error number is [131-183].
I use the following code to set the edit field:
    If oEditText.Value.Trim = String.Empty Then
                Dim strDate As String
                Dim sboBob As SAPbobsCOM.SBObob =
                 oCompany.GetBusinessObjec(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.BoBridge)
                 rs = sboBob.Format_DateToString(Microsoft.VisualBasic.Today)
               strDate = rs.Fields.Item(0).Value.ToString().Trim()
    Try
           oEditText.Value = strDate
    Catch ex As Exception
        SBO_Application.MessageBox("error setting
    current date: " & ex.Message)
    End Try
    End If
My question is how can i set the edit field with a valid value?

    Hi!
When writing to EditText.Value you must always use the B1 "DB-Format" as String.
The following examples are assuming (it's a must!) that the EditText-Fields are bound to a corrosponding DataSource (Type Date, Price etc...)
    MyDateEditTxt.Value="20080207"
    MyPriceEditTxt.Value="1341.79"
The best of it: It's Windows and SBO-GUI-Language independent.
EditText.String must always be written with the format of the actual Language of the SBO-GUI, which can be changed by the user....
