1)Will you please tell me what exact abap is used by SCM/CRM/SRM-Technofunctional.
2)Secondly being an ABAPer is it manageble to learn SCM/CRM/SRM functional without domain experience. Are these candidates without domain exp. considered by organisations in india as well as overseas.
3)Also please tell me which of these (SCM/SRM/CRM)funtional side of higher end modules is best suited for ABAPer and also marketwise.

  • Help needed for THE decision

    Hi everyone ☺
I’m finally planning to start recording what I play, and after some hours of wandering on the web I found some interesting possibilities. Now what I need is to decide which one is more suitable for my needs, and here comes the moment for apple discussions
Basically, I will record my own music one track/instrument at a time (I’m still not able to play more than one…and I dont’ want to spend 2.000$ to buy a 24-ins device just to record drum tracks), I’d like to have a software with built-in effects for guitar/bass/voice, integrated soundtrack possibilities (to play with video recordings), mixing options for both stereo and surround mixing, and I don’t want any card to be placed into my mac. Well, and obviously the sound quality must be pro-like…as anyone probably wants.
So, here’s what I came up with:
    a) getting logic pro studio 8 and apogee duet
    b) getting pro tools m-powered and mbox 2
    c) getting one of the two softwares and a Monster iStudioLink Instrument cable and plug instruments directly into the mac
    Now, the questions are:
if I can plug an instrument directly into my mac and control all parameters via one of the two softwares, what do tools like duet and mbox2 serve for?
In the case this tools are useful [ ☺ ], why ☺ … and which is the couple software/hardware that can best suit my needs?
I assume that every software has a proprietary file extension in which audio tracks are saved, so that it should be impossible to record an audio track with one software and edit it with another that has different functions/plugins (ex. from logic to pro tools, from pro tools to cakewalk sonar which I have on a pc etc.). Am I right, or is there any “standard”, non compressed high quality file type in which track can be saved and exported to be edited with different softwares?
I know that from this post it may easily seem that I’m a hopeless digital idiot, but I swear the situation is not really that bad so no need for the kind of explanations with drawings like the ones you find in the “for dummies” guides lol so every experts’ advice will be greatly appreciated
    Neptune

Thank you Bee Jay and Pancenter for the lighting-fast and useful answers
now I am aware that an interface IS NEEDED lol (that means they are not produced without a reasons, are they?). I know Pro Tools is the industry standard but I don't like anyone/anything to tie me to their choices/interests (so that's why I was asking about Pro Tools, knowing that there's some sort of "hardware threat"). What I look for is just quality and if I understood what you both mean, as far as this aspect is concerned, Logic and Pro Tools are substantially comparable...isn't it? On the interfaces side, I already checked the Saffire ones (they seem quite good, and cross-platform use is definitely a plus), I will check the others mentioned and will let you know In fact, I didn't consider the "platform problem" but, as I wrote, I also own a PC with an Audigy 2 soundcard (midi/analog/optical/digital inputs/outputs and firewire port...not Madonna's private studio, but not as sad as Mac's little hole) and Sonar 6 Producer Edition, so that has been a really good point to ponder. And now, in the middle of this software/hardware battle...any personal suggestions based on tests/personal experience?

  • Guidance needed for psunami plugin!

hello everyone,i have to make a logo come out from between the waves created by the psunami plugin.any kind of help regarding how to do that would be highly appreciated.
    regards,
    Abhishek

There are a bunch of tricks for Psunami. You can use the image maps to displace the water and to lay the logo on the water. The displacement works fairly well to simulate a boat wake or a shoreline. The problem with using image maps as displacement is that they aren't flat. IOW, they follow the flow of the waves.
The key to making Psunami work well is to make sure that you pick Realistic or better for the Render mode, and when working with image maps to displace and texture, to keep the Coarse Grid and Fine Grid at small enough values to avoid funky artifacts. You'll also need to set the Ocean Detail to at the very least Video Detail. Don't expect a fast render.
I'd suggest that you set up your project with the logo as an image map set to Displace using the Alpha of your logo with the intensity set to 0. Then when you've got it raised out of the water enough, split the layer (Ctrl/Cmnd + D) and change the image map to Displace and Texture Below. Overlap the two copies by adjusting the out and in points so the wave action matches. This would fade in the logo color in like it's coming from below the water. As the logo rises farther out of the water split and overlap the layers and pick Texture Above or Texture On to achieve the look you want.
The Logo is going to bend just like the water, but the color will be there. If you need to morph the logo to a flat surface then you'll have to match the angle with another copy of the logo as a 3D layer then carefully transition between the two. With Psunami you'll never be able to make it look like the water is running off the logo. You can fake it fairly well.
If you need to have the water run off the surface my suggestion would be to do this in a 3D app. Blender (free open source) has some pretty good water effects and there are a bunch of tutorials. Depending on the realism you're trying to achieve you might want to composite some actual footage, some 3D, and some Psunami. This is definitely not a one click, one setting, one layer, two keyframe project.
Just for fun I set up a project using CS5. It took about 5 minutes because I did a lot of this kind of stuff a long time ago. You'll find the file HERE. I hope it helps. The resulting image looks like this:
As you can see the logo moving along with the water and it still looks submerged. It takes a bunch more work to make it look like it has move up and out of the water.

  • Guidance needed for non user ... so to speak...

First off, I know nothing of value regarding wireless through VZ.
So if this is not a proper place to post, perhaps you can advise, and will move over there.
While we have a cell phone, it is only for usage when on a trip out of town ... and we do not use it even at home ..... except to 'burn' off the minutes now and then, rather than losing them.
We use a satelitte service for our internet.  Have used it for last 4-5 years; but recently read something that leads me to believe that perhaps a cell phone may be a better option.
Why a better option ... because the satelitte service, while being faster than dialup, is not that much better ... now that the places where the feed goes up and down has become over crowded with users; versus years ago when it was not crowded ... and to try to get the satelitte company (WildBlue) to move our account is ignored.
Our fee with WB is 50.00 per month.
So am open for education ... not only in the poor service addressing, but also fees.
Our cell phone fee is 10.00 per month ... "Prepay".  As to how many minutes that gives us, don't really know because we have never used them all up ... and the total minutes keep building up each time we send in our 30.00 dollars.
I did once, a few years ago, acquire the necessary program and hook-up stuff to use the cell phone for modum when on the road.
At home, my desktop and laptop are  wireless, and wireless router and modem that WB provides.
Wife's desktop, older Dell, is hooked up to the system via wire into the router.
Sorry to be so wordy, but trying to post stuff you may need toknow.
So, can someone educate me please regarding if there is any advantage to switch over to VZ ... our carrier in our town ... speedwise and or possibly total fees based on what I reveal above.
OH .... being that our cell phone is 3-4+ years old, presume it to not be ... bluetooth ??? --- equipped.
    Thank you

Are you thinking of using Verizon for mobile broadband service and getting rid of WildBlue? Here's a page that explains some of the options:http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/mobilebroadband/?page=plans
You can also get a smartphone, such as an Android or Palm, that can be used as a mobile hotspot for up to five devices. There is an extra charge to use an Android phone as a hotspot, but mobile hotspot is still free on a Palm Pixi Plus. Since you don't use many minutes, you could get the basic calling package for $39.99, then a required data package for smartphones. Keep in mind that all these mobile broadband options have caps on data usage. However, you can get unlimited data on a smartphone and won't have to worry about it on that device (mobile hotspot is not unlimited).
Hope this helps. As the previous poster said, call customer service or visit a corporate store and someone will suggest solutions for you.
As soon as we go to the city again, I plan on just that ... going to the VZ 'store'.  The community we live in, all 3k of folks ... no stoplights, etc. ... is remote and isolated, as is much of America.  Seems that only the folks in the big metropolis units get all the bells and whistles of these **bleep** companies.......even though our community has ALL the Fed. Govt. offices in it.
As a result of that fact, the only access I have, as a former DSL user, is wireless ... which is 'probably' about 1/3 to 1/2 faster than dialup.  I got spoiled with DSL, and curse every day when on the internet.  Thought satelitte would solve the problem ... but does not ... only more $$ out the door for lousy results ..... due to latency of course.
So when I read about EVDO, it appealed.
But now, after all this time, I am hearing that I may not gain that much to justify all the extra charges.  Our 'little' cell phone runs us 10.00 per month ... and we NEVER use the minutes provided.
I just do not see any speed advantage by changing.
So I am at a standstill...........and am thinking of forgetting it all as not worth changing ... and letting the cell phone minutes die a death by not renewing the quarterly charges...... especially since we discovered on our last RV trip that all we need to do to connect for messages, is park behind the motel complex, and use the wireless laptop to signin on a unsecured wireless connection.  Piece of cake.............

  • Guidance needed for KM and Collaboration

    Hi All,
I am new to the EP platform.I would be grateful if anybody can help me out with these questions:
1)When I have EP 6.0 installed, does that mean 'Collaboration' capabilities under 'people Integration' are also available to me?
2)If yes,how and where do I start for the 'collaboration' functionality. How do I set up a virtual room for sharing documents.
3)If 'collaboration' requires separate installation from EP6.0,then how do I install it?
    thanx in advance,
    Prasanna

    Hi Prasanna,
to specify PK's answer more clearly for someone who is new to EP.
    1. When you install EP6.0 you have the option to install the Platform only or EP6.0 Platform and KMC (Knowledge Management and Collaboration).
    2. Installing also KMC you have all the collaboration functionalities in PCD roles. You have to assign yourself this roles (com.sap.netweaver.coll.*) in order to use the collaboration rooms. i.e.: After assigning the role com.sap.netweaver.coll.CollaborationRoomCreation you can go on Collaboration -> Rooms -> Room Creation in order to create a collaboration room for sharing documents.
    3. The most important thing is that after the Installation of EP6.0 Platform and KMC you have to do initial configuration tasks as described in the Administrator Guide on help.sap.com/ep -> Collaboration. Without this tasks you can not use Instant Messaging, Application Sharing or other collaboration features.
    Hope that clarifies things,
    Robert

  • Guidance needed for UCM certification

    Hi All,
I am working on UCM for the past 5 months. I am willing to get UCM certified.
What are the main topics to cover , best book to follow, website and what topics are of less importance.
Please suggest me how and where should I begin?
    Thankyou

I haven't seen anything that really qualifies as the definitive guide to this particular certification, and the "free" sample tests I saw offered on the web had wrong answers to a lot of the questions. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from taking the test, but the availability of reliable material makes prepping for this test really tough.
When I took the exam, it touched on many areas of the product:
Core Content Server (profiles, security, admin applets for example)
    Site Studio
    Digital Asset Manager
    Document Capture
    Forms Recognition
    Imaging
    Universal Records Management
    Information Rights Management
My experience and advice would be that you have to be aware of all of these areas (and I hope that I didn't miss mentioning any topic areas).  You must be really strong in many areas to cover up for those areas of the test where your knowledge is lacking.
The questions are spread far enough around the overall suite where you realistically can't have more than one weak area of knowledge.  As I recall. the test was 69 or 70 questions with a minimal passing score of 70%, so you are likely to see an average of about 8 or 9 questions per area mentioned above (more on some, less on others).  If you've never dealt with Rights Management or Forms Recognition for example, you're likely to miss those questions, making your max score at best 56 out of 70, or 80% assuming you miss nothing else.  That leaves you about 7 misses across the rest of the potential test material and still get a passing score.
The test is really designed for practitioners who have considerable experience in implementing the solution stack, as some of the questions that I saw could only be answered by someone who has done this for a while.  I don't see this test as one where you can easily bluff your way through, or get enough reminders/hints from other questions to get through successfully, since the broad scope of the material that you must cover really doesn't lend itself to such hinting help.
I don't intend to sound negative on the test at all, but I want to set realistic expectations based on me actually taking the test.

  • Guidance needed for how to animate on linux

    Hello,
For some rather long time I have been trying to figure out how I can make an animation in Linux and doing so through material obtained with a framegrabbing device. Captured from a camera of course. But how longer I try to find software and howto's the more I find myself lost. At this point Im about to resort to Windows because then I can be busy in doing stuff this same day.
Perhaps Im seeing things more difficult than they are, but I could use some help in how to
    -setup my camera to work
-get some sort of framegrabbing software
-make an avi out of the pictures
    -editing software
Sorry if the answer is very obvious, but I find myself being very irritated for not finding a way or by using unstable editing software etc etc If anyone has some howto to point to you, you are welcome in sharing.
    Thanks.

You haven't even mentioned what you have tried/used before. FWIW ffmpeg settles the first 3, and cinelerra the fourth. Video isn't exactly mature on Linux but there's still plenty of choice.

  • What licenses do I need for CUCM and CME

    Hi Experts,
I am a newbie to Cisco IP telephony and request your guidance.
My boss has asked me to order some 7942 phones for a CUCM based site and some 7942 phones for a CME based site.
For CUCM 9, I understand that we need an enhanced user licenses on CUCM side.
For the IP phone, I see 2 part numbers and am confused.
    CP-7942G - Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G
CP-7942G-CH1 - Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G, for Channels, with one station user license
What is the station user license mentioned in the part number CP-7942G-CH1 ? Is it the same as the enhanced user licenses? Assuming i am ordering enhanced user licenses, what should I order CP-7942G or CP-7942G-CH1?
I also see a part number SW-CCM-UL-7942= ? What is this part? is it needed?
And what do I need for CME?
Is FL-CME-SRST-10 enough for the CME?
What is the part number for the phones? Is it CP-7942G or CP-7942G-CCME?
I also see another part number "SW-CCME-UL-7942="? What is it? And is it really needed?
I heard that Cisco simplified Licensing from version 9. At least it doesn't look simple to me :(
Can you please help me, Experts?
    Thanks,
    Pete

Hi without knowing your business goals, current network, etc here is some feedback.
Depending on your design, if the sites are connected via a reliable WAN you could run the branch site as SRST and not CME, this way you get a rich feature set of the centralised call manager and simplify licenses, etc.
Anyway, you need to size your CUCME (or SRST) correctly as each Cisco router  hardware platform has a maximum supported handsets. If you have a SIP provider new purchased ISRs now come with 10 CUBE licenses other wise you will need something else such as a VIC for dial tone.
For instance the following is a router that comes with 25 CME
    C2901-CME-SRST/K9
    2901 Voice Bundle w/PVDM3-16,FL-CME-SRST-25,UC Lic,FL-CUBE10
You can add CP-7942G-CCME which is the physical phone and license for CME
Use CP-7942G= for the Call Manager Deployment as you will get UCL Enh or CUWL for the user side
If you have existing routers you will need to obtain upgrade licenses for voice/CME add DSPs if needed for conferencing, media termination, etc, CUBE or voice cards and you can add the phones.
Router handset capacities see Table 7
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/2900-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/data_sheet_c78_553896.html
    Hope this helps

  • Hi, i am looking for a decision. shall i buy a 21,5 2,7 ghz or 2,8 ghz imac?

hi, i am looking for a decision. shall i buy a 21,5 2,7 ghz or 2,8 ghz imac?

First, if you decide you want a 21.5" iMac, go with the 2.7 GHz. The specs are better and I think a better value. Upgrade to the largest internal Hard Drive.
There is no comparing anything to the 27" 3.1GHz iMac. It's the top of the line.
Highly recommend you get to a local Apple Retail Store if possible to look at both. The 27" take up a lot of space. But also gives you plenty of room to work with multiple windows open.  It all comes down to what you need it for and what you can afford.

  • How many sessions would I need for BBP?

    Hi friends,
I am going to work on preparing a BBP document for Benefits implementation. Could you please guide me on how many sessions of workshops would I be needing for different components of Benefits module? I need to prepare presentations for each session. So, it would be great if you could also help me in dividing the module components into different sessions.
I have to perform these activities for PA and OM modules as well.
Your guidance would be a great help for me.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sanjay.
P.S. - Appropriate points will be awarded.

    Hi,
Preparation of blue print comes after you gather all the requirements, discuss the gaps with the clients. Gathering the requirements and mapping them to SAP will be done in series of workshops. You may have two workshops for each module and two workshops to discuss integration requirements. Once you are clear on the requirements and the Gaps, plan for a workshop on initial draft blue print discussion. This discussion would be for the design and content of the BBP. Later one workshop to present the complete blueprint to the client whci would include all the main stakeholders of all the modules. Later small changes can be made with individual discussions and go for sign off.
If you are particular abut the number of sessions, it depends on the complexity of business requirements. If the requirements are many and complex in nature, you need more sesions to understand the scenarios completely. Once you are clear with the AS IS and TO BE, preparation of BBP will become an easier task.

  • If I get 256Gb SSD then much less need for Apple Care?

Hi I am thinking of getting the 256Gb SSD instead of the 320Gb 7200rpm drive. If I do that do you still think I need to get Apple Care? I am an educator so Apple Care is $249. If there's much less need for Apple Care with SSD, then in effect taking the $249 and applying to the cost of a SSD, it brings down the price to $675 - $249 = $451!

No, there is no less need for AppleCare with a SSD. If the SSD itself should fail, replacing it yourself after your 1-year warranty expires will cost more than the AppleCare plan. If any other part of the machine should fail, repairing that is almost certain to cost more than the AppleCare plan too. If you don't buy the SSD and your standard hard drive fails after your 1-year warranty expires, replacing it yourself costs far less than the AppleCare plan and is so simple to do that you'd be crazy to have a service provider do it for you.
Whichever kind of drive you buy, choosing whether or not to buy AppleCare is a separate decision and shouldn't be influenced by your choice of drive.
If I were strapped for funds and in your position, I'd spend the money on Applecare sooner and wait for SSD prices to come way down and speeds to go way up in a few months or a year. AppleCare is a good investment at any time, particularly if you can buy it at a deep discount. A solid state drive is not a good investment yet for anyone whose MBP won't spend its days jouncing across the veldt in a Land Rover, being buffeted at sea in a small yacht, or banging from pothole to pothole in an urban police cruiser or bike messenger bag.
