Gps consistently wrong - any ideas?

My wifes iPhone consistently has the wrong gps location when at our house, it's a good mile out. My phone however is fine, even when the two phones are in the same location, with the same mobile provider and the same wifi network.
Does anybody have any idea what she can do to fix this?

I have also noticed the GPS location on my photos is about a mile off, too. Would appreciate any help with this.

Channel Guide completely wrong for Stanley Cup Hockey

Just wanted to report the dismal job that Fios did managing both of the Stanley Cup Game 7's that were on tonight. I set up my DVR to record the Washington Capitals Game which was shown as being on Channel 590. Fortunately I turned on the TV to see that 590 was actually playing some history of cold war era hockey...the game was actually on 576 which was incorrectly listed as MLS Soccer. This is NOT the first time I have seen this happen either. I quickly switched to record 576 instead, but that was only a short program which stopped recording in the middle of the game...because I overlooked the fact that I would have needed to record the next 9 shows to actually get the whole game. Really? Someone can't update the guide with 24 hours notice?
To add insult to injury I was also trying to watch the Bruins game 7 and was recording it as well. When I came back to watch it, the "poker" recording that was actually the Bruins game was completely missing, meaning I did not get to see any of the overtime. I have a witness who saw this entire fiasco unfold.
What a horrible TV experience for two big game 7's.
Oh yeah, and the Fios TV rates went up $10 this month. Certainly NOT a happy customer.

What area are you in? Because it was listed correctly in our area on the guide last night.
However, when a game is being broadcast nationally - and also on the local RSN, no matter what the sport - it will show up in the guide, even if it's being blacked out. The national broadcast is subject to local blackout nearly all the time when the local RSN is broadcasting the same game. This happens frequently with the Mets and Yankees. When they are on ESPN or MLB Network in a game that isn't an exclusive national broadcast, the game will still show up on the ESPN or MLB Network guide info for every provider - FiOS, DIrectv, Comcast, etc. Even though it's blacked out locally.

Poldark on Masterpiece is listed in the guide as starting on Sundays @ 10 pm PST on KQED, channel 9. This is incorrect. The program is actually airing one hour earlier @ 9pm. Please correct your programming guide ASAP.

try out what's in this Apple Support article about your same situation:
iPod shows up in "My Computer" but not in iTunes
Also see this article helps as well (though I know that your iPod shows up in "My Computer").
iPod missing in Windows or in iTunes
Also, to make your iPod show up in the Updater, try this.
Go into "My Computer", and you'll see your iPod there.
Right-click the name of it, and click "Format".
After the formatting process is complete, see if your iPod shows up in the iPod Updater, or if it works in iTunes.

SHO Guide Data - Wrong

I was able to resolve this issue by simply restarting the phone and responding to a text message that was sent to me. Not sure why that fixed it, but it works now.

Problem with 'Guides' position

Hi,
I've just tried the new Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, but I've got a problem. I am editing static html pages so it's important for me to know the exact position of an object. I am using 'Guides' for this (the greeen lines, you can pull from the rulers). But the problem is that the horizontal Guides do not show the real position, instead they show a higher value. There is no problem with the vertical ones though. What's more only those Guides are wrong which are out of the screen (you have to use the scrollbar on the side to see them).
I would really appreciate you help. Thanks for your early answer.

How-To Guide Who is Who iView

Hello,
I found here in the SDN a How-To Guide about configuring the Who is Who iView. But in this guide consists that the TREX is a requirement for this iView.
Now we don´t use TREX at the moment but we would have this Who is Who iView. Is it possible to implement this iView without TREX and which setting are different between implementation with and without TREX?

New MDC, XI Issue

2 things:
1)
I am trying to connect a first IDES client to the MDS for checking Extraction capabilities. I was following instructions ConfigGuide Harmonization+Central MDM, page 23 and fell about some pain-points.
I downloaded MDM Content on the XI as described and imported Design Objects in the xi-repository. I've got a Software Component MDM 3.00, which is based upon some other basic stuff and I created an own component based upon MDM 3.00 (usage dependency, install. time)
When importing my new component, which I want to use for the IDES, I get the MDM-stuff under Subdirectory Bascic Objects (German: Basis-Objekte). The config guide tells, I shall create the namespace - http://sap.com/xi/CMDM - under my own component, where i shall copy (later on), stuff from the mdm component like mappings. I can't do that, because then I get the message: same namespace - where did i go wrong?
2)
Concerning customizing on the MDS:
under ID-Mapping -- make XI File Settings -- there table: Key-Mapping-Framework... what to put there? what is a keymapping factory class?
2a)
customizing - Extraction Object:
when setting up process chain for inbound extraction I get the message: "No extraction objects exist for master data client IDES" - I suppose I get those by Replication of Metadata, but before that, I have to have my XI-scenario going, right ?

you're right, some expert gave me some valueable clues.
Now I re-opened the topic as my third question is not solved completly (but I have a clue, in which direction to search)...
I also wanted to post the answers here, too, but I didn't find the time last friday. But now I shall deliver:
for 1)
the config guide is wrong concerning the namespace issue... you definitely have to chose another namespace than http://sap.com/xi/CMDM...
concerning 2)
the table "Key-Mapping-Framework" requires a simple entry which has to consist out of the MDS-Host like "myMDMhost" - strange, that I really could not find a hint in the corresponding config guides. I really hate, that there is always such a veil on serious matters and a simple example-entry could have helped a lot... well, why make things easy - it's SAP...
anyway - having the entry you can export the keymapping-xi-files, which you need to import as zip-archive on the xi
for 2a) I am still hanging here, but due to ALE-IDoc problems, as for any reasons I don't get my Replication of Metadata done - but this again due to the fact that the Metadata of the MDS-Request-IDoc sent, won't show up in transaction IDX2 (Metadata-Overview for IDoc Adapter) - though I can import the data manually.
So if somebody knows the exact ALE settings on XI and MDS - then thanks for a hint.

DNS for an Xserve NAT arrangement

Hi,
I've still struggling with Open Directory login and I'm now convinced my DNS is way off. I have full functionality with a simple clients to server to modem/router to ISP.
However, with a dual port xserve, a NAT arrangement keeping one port pointing to web access and the other to the internal mac client network I seem to be consistently wrong. Could anyone run through the basic DNS arrangements for such a set up. I believe it very close to the earlier mentioned setup with the addition of a record maybe?? I'm not sure.

This is more a "running this by you all" post, as I've tried several things that have seemed, in a "UNIX" way, to be proper - you caught the part about the Zip Storm I gather, that was a mess, AppleTalk is a necessity.
It's only one of the few solutions I've seen and this is a tough nut to crack (properly). I appreciate you "checking the math".
Do you, or anyone have a safer suggestion where I can get the update but shut of Internet access to the private LAN and Xserve, while still allowing DNS, to operate?
I don't want (need) a redundant Internet gateway.
I appreciate your attention to this - it not as easy as it seems.

Are you seeing a colour shift in 720p and 1080p h.264 slideshow exports?

When I export video from Lightroom 3 (or 3.2), I see that 720p and 1080p output can be very different in colour from other resolutions. It's as if my display profile were being ignored when playing back those particular resolutions.
Playback client: Apple's QuickTime Player X on Mac OS X 10.6.4. If I use VLC or QuickTime Player 7, colour is consistent across all export resolutions but is consistently wrong compared with the original photographs. (Again, it's as if the ICC display profile is being ignored.)
Display profile: my display is profiled and the profile is an ICC v4 file but I can reproduce the issue with some v2 profiles, as well.
AVC vs h.264
One oddity (that might be a peculiarity of QuickTime Player) is that when I view the 720p and 1080p movies, and ask for information about codecs (command-i), QuickTime Player X tells me that these two movies use AVC encoding. For all the other sizes, it says claims h.264. My understanding is that these two are effectively the same thing; on the other hand, it's curious that the two sizes showing different colour from the rest are identified differently. And QuickTime Player 7 claims AVC for all resolutions and always gets the colour wrong.
Is this just a QuickTime Player X bug? It gets colour right for all resolutions except 720p and 1080p, and provides a clue by saying the movie uses the AVC codec? Or is this an encoding issue?
Other sizes are fine
Exporting and playing back any other h.264 movie size, from 320 pixels right up to 960 pixels, provides perfectly acceptable colour in QuickTime Player X .There's a slight shift compared with the originals but nothing dramatic, and it's consistent across different sizes.
Any thoughts? Can you reproduce the problem?
I've tested this on a bunch of different Macs but they're all running 10.6.4. Can anyone see this problem? Would anyone like to test on Windows and report back? The results seem to vary wildly depending on your display profile and how far it is from a canned profile so if you really want to be sure of seeing the differences, switch your display to "Wide Gamut RGB" for the playback test, then compare the 720p/1080p files with the rest, including the sRGB reference.
Would anyone like to tell me I'm being a complete idiot and overlooking something blindingly obvious? I won't be upset.
I was just about to post a note on the blog but thought I'd better post something here first. I'll probably ask readers to provide feedback here rather than on the site. I get the feeling that this issue won't be a big deal for most people.
Some examples for download
I have a zipped collection of single-image slideshows generated by Lightroom at each available resolution, together with a 960-pixel JPEG (sRGB) of that same image to act as a reference. You can download it here (5.9MB). For the moment, you'll probably have to ignore the URL that you see in the slideshows and in the Read Me file—it points to the blog post that I was preparing but which I haven't yet published. I'll do that next so anyone reading the blog will come here and post.

just to illustrate what mess this is, I tested for you on Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6) using the same wide gamut monitor. Here are two screenshots from that experiment. I converted the screenshots from my display profile to sRGB to show you what I see and scaled down 50% (this is a 30" behemoth). First Leopard.
You see they are all the same, but different from the sRGB export you provided. The GB sticker is too blue and the tint on the car is wrong. I doubt anybody but a photographer would notice though.
Next is Snow Leopard:
Here the 320 pixel, the 480 pixel and the 960 pixel image are different from the 720 pixel, the 720p and the 1080p ones. Neither is strictly correct as they are all different from the sRGB display. This is consistent with their being no real color management, just gamma corrections and color space transforms (video is usually not stored as RGB but as YUV, necessitating a transform for display). Annoying, but not much you can do about it.
Just doing some quick googling I came across many mentions of issues such as this. It clearly is just a big mess.

32 GB RAM

Spyder-profiled HP Pavilion 25xi monitors (dual setup)
Running Adobe Creative Cloud (latest builds--issue present in prior versions, too).
Using HP Universal Print Driver PS (latest version--only option on Windows 8), but have tried PCL 4 and 5 drivers as well.
When printing from Adobe products, any photo seems to print without the yellow color. Color swatches and vector files print correctly. This issue seems to only apply to raster images--greens print blue, browns print purple, oranges print magenta. I have had HP support out to examine hardware of printer and everything checks out.
I have tried every combination of ICC profile, paper setting imaginable. Have tried printing as CMYK and RGB. Have reset preferences in Adobe software. Color issues are present in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and the images print consistently off in all products (is purple in INDD is also purple in PSD, etc.). I have reset printer to defaults. I have tried removing color management and printing. I have tried printer diagnostics. I have tried having the printer manage color. I have tried having the application manage color. Everything prints consistently wrong.
I've updated video drivers, searched for ICC profiles specific to the printer, recalibrated monitors, no dice. Funny thing is that when you take that same file and send it to another printer, it prints accurately.
Any ideas for troubleshooting are much appreciated. Any solutions would be fantastic.

Battery drain with ios6 apps crashing! google maps app is gone. The Apple version is like asking a blind man for directions! Awful. As consumers we are caught up in the squabbles between Apple and Google, and we pay the price.

Does anyone else have battery life problems with the iOS6 update? Some of my other apps crash constantly, bringing my reading or workflow back to the home screen. The new map App is a disaster! Is there an online petition to have Apple bring back the Google map app? It is like asking a blind man for driections! Addresses, postal codes, locations, area codes and phone numbers in the Vancouver BC area are consistently wrong! AUUUUUGGGHHHHHHH!

As someone who spends a lot of time writing reviews (for vidya gaems ;P) I enjoyed your review. I am also looking at getting a new phone soon (I am saving up to buy out on refresh). I was considering th next iPhone but from reading your review I may consider this device instead. What I need to know is this. When the phone is in a phone holder which you have in a car for example does the screen get pressed at the sides? I don't wan't to open up Waze put my phone in a holder and it get cancelled out by what it thinks is a button press. Also, is the screen goign to be scratched easy? I am guessing there is no decent screen guards yet. I did buy some screen protection liquid that was recommended on these forums and my lumia still got scratched by about an inch or so.
