Guided Procedure in Intranet and Internet

Hi,
my Question is very simple. I want to develop an Guided Procedure for Intranet and Internet. Can I do this? There are two Portals in the company. One is for Internet and one for Intranet. If I develop the GP in the Intranet, can I insert an IView in the Intranet, where I can work with? Or in other way insert an IView in the Intranet? How work the UWL in this case?
Have somebody an idea and can help me out?
Thanks,
Peter

hi Peter  ;
GP can be accesed with in the server.
for example  server X ,Y
if you configure GP UWL to a X , you can send the notfication or any thing with in the X.
it is not possible to configur Y server.
I tryed that senerio ..But it is not possible
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/904ca240-63bc-2a10-1c98-de81b6a045bf
Above like will help you to configure UWL for GP

  • What is the best approach to setup intranet and internet sites in SharePoint 2013?

I am planning to setup a internet and intranet website for one of our client.  What is the best approach to setup this kind of environment?
Some of the users (registered users) from the internet should be able to access information in the intranet site.  I have created two web applications for intranet and internet.  Is it the right way to go forward?
    Thanks in advance! :)
    LM

    Hi Laemon,
Creating two separate web applications, one for Internet site and the other for Intranet is the right thing you have done.
    1. To properly plan creation of your web application, site collection and website is of utmost important to ensure you build your site in a professional and most recommended way. Go through this article from Technet that would help you plan your site in
    SharePoint 2013.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263267.aspx
    2. Planning and choosing the right authentication type is also a very important decision. I recommend you to go through the below article if you have not already gone through.
Plan for user authentication methods in SharePoint 2013
    3. Plan for licensing for your SharePoint 2013 Internet Facing Website.
Licensing Internet Sites Built on SharePoint 2013
SharePoint 2013 licensing for Internet facing sites
    4. To grant access to registered users to Intranet site (as you mentioned in question), if you created both web applications in same farm (same domain) then that would be easy to grant access using Site Permission with Windows Authentication enabled for
both web application. If both web applications are created on different domains then If there is a two-way trust in place, and the SharePoint servers have the necessary port access to the remote domain's Domain Controller, then it is automatic. If it is a
one-way trust, then you need to follow these directions:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263460(v=office.12).aspx
If there is no domain trust in place, then you either need to create one, or look at alternative technologies,
    such as ADFS.

  • SCCM design DMZ for intranet and internet clients

    Hello,
I am looking for some design recommendations for my test environment that I would like to apply to one production environment (I already posted about this topic but I still have some questions).
I am working with 2 domains (2 forests) with no trust relationships.
    Domain A : internal
    Domain B : DMZ
From a firewall point of view, only the ports from the internal to the DMZ will be opened.
From the internet to the DMZ, only HTTPS will be opened.
Currently, I only manage the clients connected to the internal domain.
I would like to deploy a new management point in DMZ that will allow me to manage my DMZ clients (servers) and my Internet clients (laptops).
Should I use 2 management points ? Is it supported ?
    - one for the DMZ clients
    - one dedicated to my internet clients
If I use only one MP, should I allow Intranet and Internet clients ?
Should I allow my DMZ clients to communicate with the internal management point (port 80) and only use the MP in DMZ for my Internet clients.
The only documents I can find on Technet require too many ports to be opened in the firewall (From DMZ to Internal) and can't be applied to my environment.
    Thanks.

Have a look at the following blog which explains your queries comprehensively.

  • Intranet and Internet Site deployment

I have to design an Intranet and an Intranet for the same client.  Both sites share a few items in common.  I have a few questions.
Can both sites have one authoring environment or separate ones.
Can both sites be deployed on the same server or different servers.
Do both sites have to be isolated from each other.
If there is content common among the two sites, how can I share this information.

If the main difference between intranet and internet is content or permission to see content, then you should be able to first create a web application for your intranet, then Extend that same web app in to a new authentication zone for the internet.
When you use Extend both sites will share the same content databases, but have distinct Urls and authentication schemes.  So in this scenario, all content is common, but you would use permissions to determine what is visible to anonymous users.
If you need greater protection of true intranet content, then you might consider creating a separate web app for intranet, a second for internet authoring, and then extend the internet one to another zone to provide anonymous access.  In this case,
to share common content, you could look at the Content Deployment features. (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee721058(v=office.14).aspx)
All of these can be on the same server, provided it can be made visible to the public internet through firewalls, etc.
    Hope that helps.

  • Difference between intranet and internet ?

Does the HttpServletRequest object hold the information if the user is access a website from intranet or internet ?
I neeed this while some users are only allowed to access the website internally. The website uses certificates...
Is there a easy way to do it or do I need to look for the IP numbers?

You need to look at the IP numbers, though even that is probably spoofable.
You could use a separate server IP address or port number for you intranet users and make sure your firewall allows only intranet users onto this.

  • Guided Procedures WSDL : Username and Password

Quick question , i am new to Guided procedures as part of integration i am working on this which needs me to point to wsdl while generating webservices. It works fine for webservices that doesnt have a Handshake of username and password but how to deal with webservices that need username and password authentication handshake ? Please suggest.

    Hi,
In WD there's no direct way to access the SOAP message header. If the web service defines implicit headers in JAX-RPC then you have to use the setProperty methods of the javax.xml.rpc.Stub interface so that the JAX-RPC handler can retrieve these via the getProperty methods.

  • Viewing same portal through intranet and internet

we built a portal - works on our intranet...we want to expose it to the internet...so we created a new partner app and ran ssodatax as prescribed by oracle...no good. i go to the external url but all of the links (login, home, etc) point to the internal url. i pulled up the PORTAL and ORASSO schema and everything seems correct. that is to say that the entries in the PORTAL tables point to the external address (for the new ID).
    any ideas? thanks in advance.

Larry, this is explained in detail in the Portal Configuration Guide which you can find in the documentation section of http://portalcenter.oracle.com. See 'working with firewalls and load balancers'.

  • Intranet and Internet

Hi, I need help as this is driving me crazy.
My Macbook is in a subnet (IP: 192.168.5.250 DHCP), Router and DNS are set up correctly.
If I go into the Internet there is no problem, however if I try to call our webserver (IP:192.168.0.4) the computer cannot access.
I have found that if I change to our wireless network (192.168.0.139 AP), deactivate the wireless and change back to our cable network then everything works.
I currently have to do this every morning when I go to work.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks in advance
    MacBook 2.0Ghz White   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Where are these two Networks?
Ethernet at Home Router Modem? Wireless where? Webserver where?
A simple solution might be to set Network>TCP/IP>IPv4 to Manual then set...
    IP: 192.168.5.250
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Router: 192.168.5.1 or whatever it is.
Are you aware that the order of the Interfaces in Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations can be dragged around, and that the top one will have 1st shot at Internet, lower ones for local networking?

  • API for access of guided procedure from ABAP / WebDyn: change/read status

    Hallo together,
I'm very new to guided procedure and have some questions about possible interaction between WebDynpro ABAP and Portal guided procedures (UWL ?)
is it possible to access a guided procedure or their attributes from WebDynpro ABAP? What are the relevant key attributes (ID's) to do so?
Is is possible to change the status of a guided procedures f.e. from "completed" to "ready" from outside, let say WebDynpro ABAP? for the purpose of a monitor for mgrs.
    - possible szenario is a manager says: "no, not well done" go back to start and do it again !
    - another szenario: guided procedure is "running" and should be set to "completed"
    Any hint will be helpfull
    Thanx very much in advance
    regards Hans

    Hi Hans,
There is a good and a bad news regarding APIs for GP and ABAP Web Dynpro and GP:
The good news is that you can find [here|http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwce/current/gp/index.html] the APIs for GP.
The bad news is that the cooperation capabilities between GP and ABAP Web Dynpro are restricted in a certain way. One can use a ABAP Web Dynpro in GP as callable object, but GP is only capable to transport parameter values from GP to the UI but not vice versa. In many cases one needs a solution where the ABAP Web Dynpro UI accepts user inputs and forwards them to the GP context. This is not supported.

  • ESS Guided Procedures EXIT

    Hi,
we are using ESS Travel Management Scenario with EP70 and Web dynpro with a ERP2005 HR Backend. (Create Travel Request/Expense etc)
We are using a layout with detailed navigation on the left side.
Our Problem is: Once a WD Guided Procedure (like Create Travel request) is started by the user, he cannot exit anymore. There is no BACK option or EXIT button or so.
If the user clicks on the left side in the detailed navigation link, the portal starts another screen in a separate new window, as long as the guided procedure is there and active. But in the new window, the personal number is locked, of course.
The only way to exit a guided procedure that is not finished, is to log off or to close the window.
How can I give the user the option to exit the guided procedure properly?

    Hi Holger,
This is because the GP is not releasing locks properly. There was a work around suggested, where in the forced lockproperty  is set to true in the GP iview that is used in the ESS.

  • How to get Guided procedures DC into track

    Hi All,
I am trying to implement the functionality mentioned in the thread
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50d74ada-0c01-0010-07a8-8c118d408e59?overridelayout=true
But it says in order to implement that I need to import Guided Procedures related DCS  and I dont know which Software component consists of all the DCS which i need to check in and import into track so that when i open sap.com_SAP-EU_1 component i can see all the GP related dcs.
Plz let me know the solution
    Thanks

    Hi Bala,
SAPPCUI_GP is the SCA which contains the related GP dc's.

  • Intranet and Administrator privilege

    Hi there
I have Windows base server (2003) runing intranet on it (ASP site), and Macs but they don't join the server.
When Mac users connect to this server Safari prompt for network username and password, enter network username, password and it's work perfectly.
But when I change the logged user to be a standard or managed user not administrator it's still ask for network user and pass and don't accept it.
    Any ideas???

If the main difference between intranet and internet is content or permission to see content, then you should be able to first create a web application for your intranet, then Extend that same web app in to a new authentication zone for the internet.

  • Life Events - P&F Replacing Guided Procedures (GP)?

    Hi,
I have seen that SAP replaced some of the Life and Work Events Guided Procedures with Processes and Forms. Is this the direction that SAP is going? I am asking so that we will develop any customer specific LWE's with the appropriate technology.
    Thank you,
    JP (Jari) Sallasvaara

I found that SAP is replacing Guided Procedures with a new product.
