Guided Procedures - Manual activity

Hello,
I'm trying to add a link or shortcut to a transaction in a manual activity for the GP Im developing....
I get the following error when tying the link over a Managed System of the Solman (If the link is for the Solution Manager there is no problem):
And this message when I clck over Display Help...
Anybody knows where should I specify the Manage System??
(I asumed that I would be automatically refered to the Managed system over wich I created the GP....)
Thanks in advance.
BR!

Hi!
I couldn't implement the note you told me. I checked the note and it has two instructions on it, but for a component with a support package level lower than the one in my system....
NOTE:
SYSTEM SOFTWARE COMPONENT:
The  problem this note fixes, should already been solved for my system....
Thanks, Carlos.

  • Error while executing Guided Procedures Action

    Hello,
We are getting the following error when a user is trying to execute an Action in the Guided Procedures Process:
"Cannot complete Action: Activity could not be read".
    What can be causing this?
Any help would be highly Appreciated.

    Hello,
This is more than likely due to an inconsistency of a GP object at database level. I suggest opening an OSS ticket as this would require detailed analysis.

  • Error in Guided Procedure

    Hello All,
I am currently working on the Customer Master Prototype and am concerned with developing Guided Procedure and Dynpro Components for the same.
Since last week I have been facing an issue with Enterprise Portal. Earlier when i would log on to portal and then click on Design Time it would throw a dump "java.lang.NosuchMethodError" com.sap.caf.gp.eu.ui.<Method Name>.
To resolve this error i went through the stack trace and noted down the Active DC's that are causing problems. I then logged on to NWDS and in the Active DC's tab, scrolled down to the corresponding DC's and did a sync archive. After which i deployed the DC's and it stopped throwing the dump.I went on with the development of the GP till the block level. At the block level when i try to group the
parameters, it throws a dump again.I tried the same way to find the Active DC's and re-sync them but this time the approach did not work and it still throws an error when i try to group the parameters. This also causes the SDM to restart or stop randomly,The error that i am getting is.
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.sap.caf.eu.gp.model.pfw.cons.IParamStructure.canCreateGroup(Lcom/sap/caf/eu/gp/model/pfw/cons/IParameter;)Z
Pls suggest any help will be highly appretiated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with Guided Procedure

    Hello,
using the Guided Procedures I have modeled an approval workflow.
After a requester submits a request, the request should be delegated to an approver.
However, when the requester actually submit the request, I get an error message which reads "Activity could not be read" and the workflow does not continue with the approver.
Does anyone has an idea, what could be wrong?
    Best regards
    Alexander

    Hi Fazal,
Check the Callable object in GP design time , whether it is giving u the expected output.
The callable objects work just fine and provide the expected outputs.
Nwa--> Problem management --> Logs and Traces --> Log Viewer.
in the log viewer, u will find the root cause for the error message.
Unfortunately, I cannot find (see below) any other root cause. It seems that the problem occurs either when completing the first or starting the second action. However, both callable objects work fine when tested in the design time.
Edit: It seems that the problem occurs when completing the first action. What could be the reason for that?

  • SAP Workflow vs. Guided Procedures

    Hello experts,
could anyone explain the differences between SAP workflow and Guided Procedures???
I know that workflows are just compatibel with a ABAP Stack. Is there a document which compares both process technologies???
Can I use CAF for SAP workflow???
Can I use the Visual Composer to create the UI for a workflow???
    Thank you very much

    Hi Martin!
Because my tutor and my professor want to know, if it's possible to start a GP-process from SAP WebFlow automatically if a certain step is reached in WebFlow.
I have a process as an example and in that process company A works with Workflow and company B, who is responsible for maintenance of a machine works with Guided Procedures.
When a machine is damaged a Guided Procedure process of company B should be started and after reparing and end of GP the SAPWorkflow should continue.
The normal way via iporting a WSDL file isn't possible because SAP WebFlow doesn't support SOAP Binding which is necessary for Guided Procedures.
However in Guided Procedure it's possible to create an URL of a process instantiation. And if you call that URL in your Browser with parameters "process.template.id = xxxxx" and "process.autostart=t" the process will be started automatically.
So for the first, I just want to call the URL from SAP WebFlow to trigger the GP process. (the handler customizing is done correctly) So I thought with transaction "wf_extsrv" it's possible if you refer to the URL of the process instantiation with process.template.id and process.autostart=t.
Then generate a task and start the GP-process with the activity referring to the task. That would be a first step to show if it's possible.
    If yes.
Then I can attend to pay attention to the export and import parameters.
    Can you follow me?
    I hope so.
I think that post is much too long.
If you want I can write you my ideas exactly via email.

  • Error when testing a Guided Procedure that use a Visual Composer UI

    Hello!
Trying to develop my first Guided Procedure in SAP NW CE 7.1 SR3.
I follow instructions that I earlier have used with CE 7.1 SP1 (in TechEd07), assuming no major changes from SP1 to SR3...
I have defined a Callable Object that is based on a Visual Composer UI.
The Visual Composer UI itself works fine when I test it in Visual Composer but when I try to test the Callable Object I get the following error message:
"Could not load execution container: Did not find active instance for component com.sap.caf.eu.gp.ui.co.wd4vc.exec.COExecWD4VC in running application."
When I click on the error message I get a lot of details of the underlying Java exception:
"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot find view element with ID 9NEfbfuapOdP8O4KnmM19Q in application com.sap.caf.eu.gp.dt.workset.AppWorkset with namespace null"
    (skipped all details...)
Have I missed some step (development or configuration) that is new in CE 7.1 SR3 compared to CE 7.1 SP1?
I have tried to read through the available on-line help but can't find anything that seems to differ...
Are there any examples/tutorials available for CE 7.1 SP3?
    Thanks for your help,
    Magnus.

    Hello Dipankar!
Thanks for trying to help me out!
I'm unfortunately having problem with finding the choice "Add Guided Procedure Information" in the options menu in VC.
I have looked in the menu "Tools --> Options" but failed to find this choice.
Is this choice maybe changed in SAP NW CE 7.1 SR3?
Regarding running the VC component as a stand-alone application I can launch the component from VC after deployment and it works fine both as HTML and Flex (I really like the Flex - version :-)!
But if you mean something else with running it stand alone please direct me to some doc-url so I can learn how to do that!
    Best Regards,
    Magnus.

  • Data passing problem with Adobe Form & Guided Procedure

    Hello all,
I am trying to create a Guided Procedure to implement an offline Adobe Interactive form. This form is based on the standard Requisition Request form used in MSS for e-Recruiting.
I've copied the standard form and updated the layout to ZCI using the appropriate transaction (not manually). After that, I've changed the Interface and layout. But to get the Form in the portal you need to have a .xpd file. Therefore, I've tested the form in preview mode, saved a copy as a PDF file and opened this copy in the standalone Adobe Lifecycler Designer. In the standalone version you are able to save the form as a PDF (not possible using transaction SFP).
My question 1 is if this is a wrong approach and there is a better way to retrieve the xpd file.
Next to that, I wrote a RFC function to retrieve data in the backend. This function is working and now I try to pass the data to the Form in the GP (using prefilling). The data is never passed, any points that I need to check there. The data used to export is a structure that contains a number of table types, because Adobe has issues with importing tables it seems. The form is working correctly in the backend.
Points will be rewarded for helpfull awnsers!
Kind regards & thanks in advance...

    Hi Eduard Vilar,
Go to sfp transaction, open the respective form, enter the transaction 'fb_xdp_down' to import the xdp layout and 'fb_xdp_up' to upload.
Hope this will hwlp. (i beleive you meant xdp rather than xpd )

  • Archive guided procedure process and maintain history attributes

    Hi All,
We have the need for a workflow through portal with several approval steps.
We want to use guided procedures but cannot find whether it answers to our following requirements:
    - When a process is completed, we want to be able to see some detailed data of each activity.
-ID of the object created after approval    (which we display in the last step of the procedure).
-Comments from the requestor               (upon which the approver decided to approve).
              -Date and time of approval
This so we can track back from the object id why it has been created and who approved it. (also when the process is already archived, we would still like to see this).
-Does anyone know if there are limitations to the archiving process?
-The exact approver of the process is important to retain as well. In the archive monitor I now only see Initiator, Owner, Overseeer and Adminstrator kept in history. But we need to know who did our approval (which is not amongst these roles).
    Thanks for your help
    Jurjen

    Hello,
Even we have similar kindda requirement. I don't know how well is the standard archive monitor will suit this need. As you have said there might be some vital information that may not be possible to be archived in the standard Archive for GP.
So I'm planning to build my own Ztable in SAP R/3 for the archival of all the processing details, agents involved, date and time etc so that this table can be updated as and when the particular step in the GP has been completed.
This way, I guess i can decide what all details to be archieved and hence code accordingly. Also, this doesn't have any limitation as its a Transparent table in R/3.
Hope you can do something similar to this.
    Cheers,
    Mandrake

  • Clean Job: Guided Procedures - Locked Objects & Background Action Process Q

I opened this thread also in Portal Content Development thread,
but I think its more useful here:
    Hi Experts,
We are running several Workflows on our Portal, they often lock objects and use the background action processor queue.
You can unlock these objectes manually by selection 'Unlock Objects' (which is below Guided Procedures - Administration)
And you can delete the successfull processed action queues (Guided Procedures - Administration - Maintain Queues).
Is it possible to this in a weekly running job? All objects should be unlocked, the queue should only be deleted for actions which where processed successfully and are older then a date.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks for any help,
    Chris

    Hi Sitarama,
    <br/>
<br/>Thanks very much for your fast reply. Yes, the smartforms are custom-built. Besides the deadlock error, there still has some errors in SP01 says "Could not pass request to host spool system". But it previews wonderfully in SP01. The detailed SP01 error log is like below:
    Print request processing log
Errors occurred processing this print request
Error during print request output. l_rc = 99
    There may be no printout
Most important attributes of spool request

What do you mean parallel processing on table level? The smartforms extract data from different SAP tables and then transfer to smartform interface, then they can added in form pages. Do you think this results parallel processing towards tables?
    <br/>
Thank you and hope to hear more from you.

  • ABAP Web Dynpro Guided Procedures integration

    Hello,
does anyone know if there is a way for an ABAP Web Dynpro to expose input and output parameters for use in Guided Procedures?
      Thanks in advance
        Gabor

I have the same problem. I want to integrate an ABAP Web Dynpro in GP, but there is no way to implement an Interface from GP like it is in JAVA. That means you cannot maintain input , output parameters and give a status back to GP. Seems that in ABAP the WD is not integrated in GP.
I went to the relevant developement departement an they gave me the following answer.
In GP you can maintain input parameters for a ABAP Web Dynpro Application manually which will be displayed in the apllication UI URL . Then you need a function module to map the input parameters inside the url to the ABAP Web Dynpro context. Output parameters are not possible in GP with ABAP Web Dynpro. It is also not possible to give back the processing state to GP from your ABAP web Dynpro Application like it is in JAVA. Only the GP framework provides a button to complete this Step manually by the user.

  • ESS Guided Procedures EXIT

    Hi,
we are using ESS Travel Management Scenario with EP70 and Web dynpro with a ERP2005 HR Backend. (Create Travel Request/Expense etc)
We are using a layout with detailed navigation on the left side.
Our Problem is: Once a WD Guided Procedure (like Create Travel request) is started by the user, he cannot exit anymore. There is no BACK option or EXIT button or so.
If the user clicks on the left side in the detailed navigation link, the portal starts another screen in a separate new window, as long as the guided procedure is there and active. But in the new window, the personal number is locked, of course.
The only way to exit a guided procedure that is not finished, is to log off or to close the window.
How can I give the user the option to exit the guided procedure properly?

    Hi Holger,
This is because the GP is not releasing locks properly. There was a work around suggested, where in the forced lockproperty  is set to true in the GP iview that is used in the ESS.

  • Identify Guided Procedures Task ID dynamically

    Hi,
Can anyone please tell me if there is a way to idynamically dentify the id of the task (not the process) that is asigned to the user in Guided Procedures process?
Say for ex: I have two parallel tasks assigned to one user. Action1 and Action2. For each action a email is sent to the user with a link  (like below) to the task so he/she can directly launch the task from email.
To view this task href="http://`{write(ctxt.DataSource.Host);}`/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.caf.eu.gp.folders.gp/com.sap.caf.eu.gp.roles.runtime/com.sap.caf.eu.gp.worksets.runtime/com.sap.caf.eu.gp.pages.procinstance&DynamicParameter=processId%3D`{write(sy.processid);}`%26taskId%3D">Click here
With the above link, the user is only getting the url to the process but not directly to the task. i.e., when the user clicks on the email link of Action2, the browser opens up with the Action1 selected by default. He will then have to manually click on Action2 to complete that task. I want the user be able to directly go to Action2.
    Please advice.

    Kumar.

  • I need Your Help for CAF/EU/GP/API Guided Procedures

Hi everyone, I need your help about Guided procedures CAF API, I am developing an WEB DYNPRO Callable Object for Guided Procedures, but I need to get the task name of the running proceess on Guided Procedure once time a user initiated it, if is possible? Do you have an examples?
    Thenk you very much

    Hi,
Yes you can retrieve the task name of the running process. Here is what you need to do.
    1. Get the process instance - IGPRuntimeManager - > getInstance()
    2. Get the IGPActivityInstance(s) from the process instance - processInstance.getChildrenInformation().
    3. Optionaly check if these child activities are Blocks or Actions. If Block drill further to get the Actions using getChildrenInformation().
    4. Retreive the IGPActionInstance(s) from the Block Activities.
    5. Get the IGPActivity object for these Actions using IGPActionInstance.getTemplate() method.
    6.  This object will have a method getTitle() which will retrive you the activity name.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Dimension PWXTY64 can only be manually activated in client 001

    Hi ,
I am trying to transport some of my infoubes from Dev to Quality  where I can see th error
Dimension PWXTY64 can only be manually activated in client 001
    Message no. R7048
    Diagnosis
Dimension PWXTY64 does not have a number range interval. A new interval has to be generated so that IDs can be assigned. As IDs already exist, the interval has to be created during object activation. This is only possible in BI client 001 as the interval is client-dependent.
The error occurred in client 000 - probably in after-import handling.
    System Response
Dimension PWXTY64 can only be activated manually in client 001.
    Procedure
Activate Dimension PWXTY64 manually in client 001.
Please let me know what needs to be done to avoid this error
    Thanks ,
    Sany

Have you found a solution to this issue?  We experienced the same thing this weekend, and we had to manually activate the Infocubes using the activation program.  But, if there is a way to avoid this in the future, that would be great.
    Thanks,
    John
