Guitar Hero III for G5 / OS 10.4.10 multiple crashes

This might be the wrong forum, but as there is no "gaming" forum, I'm posting here.
I've just installed GH III on my G5 with Dual-Core Intel Xeon running OS 10.4.10 - 256 MB of VRAM, my video card is NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT. I fit all the requirements on the back of the box.
What I've been trying to do somewhat successfully is to play the game out my second monitor port to be displayed on a 36 inch Panasonic plasma. I set the display to "mirror display," and that works for a few minutes then the game crashes. I've tried not using the plasma and just displaying the game through my regular monitor, but it still crashes quite a bit that way as well
It might not even be a monitor issue, but I'm just trying to figure out why Guitar Hero would suffer so many crashes on my system. I do have two external hard drives hooked up via firewire, not sure if that could be an issue as well.
If anyone has any suggestions let me know!

I haven't updated to 10.4.11 yet since this computer's main purpose is for audio recording, and it's running Pro Tools 7.3.1 and Final Cut HD and various other programs. Every update we have to wait awhile to see if any bugs pop up or if it will still be able to run Pro Tools.
We've had trouble in the past updating one program causing a chain reaction of other that puts the computer out for a day or two as we scramble for missing updates or purchasing new software versions.
Could the lack of the OS updated be causing Guitar Hero III to crash frequently?

Hello I have an April 2006 13' Macbook.
    It is a 2Ghz, 1GB 667 Mhz.
Ive got an Intel GMA 950 with 64MB VRAM.
I know I'm not anywhere near where i need to be but please, is there anything i can do?
    THank you

    Hi ckyo01!
Unfortunately, there's little/nothing to do that will allow you to "upgrade" your machine to meet the minimum system requirements of Guitar Hero III. That game does not support shared/virtual graphics processors in laptops, which the MacBook is configured with from the factory.

  • Audigy 2ZS: no sound for Guitar Hero 3 for

Just like in the title I have no audio for the game. I have exchanged my first copy of GH3 for pc for a new one and both without any audio. I've checked all my connections, tried both speakers and headphones, reinstalled the game many times with two different DVD dri'ves, made sure I had the most up to date drivers for my ZS, went into the in game audio options to make sure the volume was all the way up. I can play music and other games without any problem. I just don't understand what the problem is. My sound card has been fine and working for over a year.
I've also contacted the GH3 for pc support and they have been of no help whatsoever, so I thought I'd come here and I might get the attention of some real experts and this problem may have a chance of getting resolved.
So if anyone can give suggestions or help in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

OK well I got a new sound card, a Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.. This new sound card is amazing, magnificent sound quality and the audio in games sounds so much better. And best of all I now have sound In GH3 for PC. Its a great card. They actually come out with new drivers to fix problems, I think they came out with 5 or 6 new drivers since the card was released in October 07.
I still don't know what the cause of my problem was, my guess is that it had something to do with my old sound card or its drivers. All I know if it wasn't for that stupid problem I probably wouldn't have got my X-Fi Prelude.

  • Guitar Hero 3 - stutters and crackl

Hiya all. I'm currently using driver 6.0..24 (the one that DriverExpires showed how to extract on his website). In the past, sound really hasn't been a big deal for me - I have it on lightly when playing games, and for listening to youtube videos and the like. Anyhoo, I just purchased Guitar Hero 3 today, and was hoping that the audio would be great - I have a nice set of 5. surround sound speakers from Logitech. Unfortunately, while the sound itself is decent enough, I've noticed a lot of slowdown when playing the game. My first assumption is that it's related to the sound card (a SB audigy 2 ZS) because GH3 is a very sound intensi've game, and ... well ... I'm not using official CL drivers because there isn't one. But I would like to know if there's anything I can do, with what is available now, to not have so much stuttering in playing this game. As an aside, the 'vista rating' on my computer is 4.4, and I turned down the in game settings, but I'm still getting stuttering and a bit of crackle while playing. Does anybody have any advice? Is there a new driver I can try (I haven't visited this site in a few months). To the administrators, is there any news at all of a new driver being released for the Audigy 2 series? If the answer is 'no, there will never be an official driver', I'm fine with that, because at least I'll know. But really, any advice and information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running a Audigy both on Vista 32 and 64 bit.

  • PS3 Guitar Hero USB Microphone works with iPad and GarageBand ! :-)

I have a white USB adaptor that I use to connect my digital camera to my iPad. This morning I connected my guitar hero USB microphone into it and it worked using GarageBand !
I have not heard any distortions.... Is there anybody else out there that can also test this scenario ???
If you already have this mike, why pay more for another one that seems to do the same thing ??

  • Guitar Hero Live PS4

Kotaku has learned from two separate sources that Activision has a new Guitar Hero game in development, reportedly for this year. The new title, which one source says will be announced at E3 this year, takes a "more realistic" approach than previous Guitar Hero games, all of which have had a cartoonish visual style. Crowds and performers will look more in-line with real life. We were told that there are new guitar peripherals in development for the title, and both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were mentioned. It is reportedly due for an E3 announcement and a full release before the end of the year. KotakuSixaxisPush Square Wouldnt mind a new Guitar Hero. • Guitar Hero Game

    Hello All:
At the moment, I am working on this guitar hero type game.
For those who have never heard about Guitar Hero, it is an
interesting rhythm game using both concepts of Frequency and
Amplitude. The game screen consists of a scrolling fret board that
has various colored notes on it. Each color corresponds to one of
the buttons on the guitar, which you must hold down while strumming
    on the flipper.
The main problem I am having at the moment is the sound
synchronization. The game contains a quite long sound clip, so it
is quite hard to keep the animation in sync with the sound.
Obviously slow machine could play an animation much slower than a
fast computer. But the sound on both machines are played pretty the
    same.
I am asking for help from you guys if any of you have any
knowledge about gaining more control over audio sync? For example,
what if I want to use programming to synchronize sound with notes
    moving animations in this game.
There are probably more than one solution out there, so
please feel free to make a suggestion. I am looking for all
    options.
and of course your help will be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks..

    Hey lilrileydragon-
    WHO’S READY TO ROCK?
Yeah, me too!  Right now, we don’t have any information regarding the availability of additional controllers for the new Guitar Hero game, but both Veroku_Chan and bobberuchi have provided some great insight into generally what happens with the launches of peripheral-based games like this.
I would recommend watching BestBuy.com as we get closer to launch to see what may be released around that time.
    Thanks for posting!

  • On my Macbook pro 15 2011, System Profiler is suggesting that it uses SATA III for the hard drive and SATA II for the Optical Drive.  Is that true?

On my Macbook pro 15, 2011, System Profiler is suggesting that it uses SATA III for the hard drive and SATA II for the Optical Drive.  Is that true?

That is correct. The tech specs indicate:
    Hard Drive Interface
    6.0 Gbps Serial ATA (SATA)
    Optical Drive Interface
3.0 or 6.0 Gbps Serial ATA (SATA)

  • I have a late 2011 mac book pro and I'm wondering if it uses SATA II or SATA III for the hard drive? Which eventually I'm going to replace with a SSD.

I was wondering if the late 2011 macbook pro uses SATA II or SATA III for the hard drive. The reseason I'm asking this is because some day I'm going to replace the Hard drive for a SSD drive down the road and would like to use all the performance of the SATA controler.

I need to get raw plugin for Canon 5D Mark iii for CS6  the adobe website has changed and I can not find the download.. it keeps looping me back to the product download page without the raw

Which operating system are you using?
Have you tried Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6 to get either camera raw 8.3 or 8.7.1, which should enable photoshop cs6 to open the canon 5D Mark III files.
(version of camera raw depends on your operating system)
If that doesn't work try one of the following camera raw plugin installers:
    Camera raw 8.7.1 plugin

If you have windows xp or vista or mac os x snow leopard (10.6.8), then you'll have to use the camera raw 8.3 plugin installer:
