GUIxt with Enhancement Pack 5

We are in ECC 6 and are in the process of updating to enhancement pack 5. We are having to make changes to the guixt scripts due to changes in screen names, etc. One issue I am having is with TIP. It does not seem to work properly. It is a customer screen and the script is getting activated, but the tip icon does not appear and it overwrites the field description with the tip information. Anyone have any idea.
The syntax for the tip is
Tip F[%#AUTOTEXT002] "Format: Employee # + dash + password i.e 9999-ABCDE"
the field name is correct and the 'format employee #... shows up, just not as a tip.
Any help is welcome.

Hi Everyone,
Perhaps you already know SAP is prompoting upgrade via Enahncement packs
so we have upgraded ECC6 with Enhancement packs 4 and now that we have doen this , if you want to create a role in PFCG this prompts tp peform steps 2A to 2C in SU25
my question is
1.Did any one upgrade to EPH4 on ECC6
2.If you did , did you perform the steps ( 2A to 2C in SU25)
3.And also if you perform 2A and 2B , does this already write entires in PFCG ?
Any thoughts ?

only 2C, but after you have run 2A,2B, youll get your authorizations updated in your roles the next time you use the merge-authroizations function in PFCG

GTS 8.0 with ECC Enhancment Pack 4 SP2

Hello-
We've recently upgraded our ECC system to Enhancement Pack 4, SP2. We'd like to install GTS 8.0, however I'm unable to find the requirements for GTS 8.0 in enhancement pack terms. I'm only able to find that it requires SPS16, which I'm not able to find any comparisions relating SPS16 to Ehp4 SP2 to see how they stack up.
Basically, can anybody find or refer me to material for GTS requirements in terms after Enhancement Pack 4? Or a note that compares SPS to EhP versions?

Enhancement Pack - Wayaround

Hey everyone,
I've got an interesting problem at my hand that I can't seem to find a reasonable answer to. The issue is as follows:
We are in the process of activating BI content ( our ERP has enhancement pack 1 ) and there are a couple of core datasources missing ( for master data ) which come with enhancement pack 2 and over. And we can't initiate an activity of updating to EP2 as that would delay our current project - however, we are currently testing a proposed solution i.e. trying to transport datasources from a demo-server ( already on EP2 ) ....
so, what do you guys think can be done for a short-term solution ..... would like any input / suggestions from your side.

This sounds good you can implement however, before proceeding check with basis that, future if they planning to implement EP2 what will be the impact whether overwrite or give any error as "Already Exists".

SRM 7. 0 with ECC 6.0 Enhancement Pack

1) My client just upgraded their R/3 to ECC 6.0, but no Enhancement Pack.
2) They are trying to upgrade from SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0 in the near futures.
3) During their first SRM phase, their scenario is limited to the following:
a. R/3 RFQs are pushed to SRM via RFC call (custom program)
b. SRM vendor logs in to see the RFQs and creates Quote
c. SRM buyer evaluates the quotes
4) Question: In order to run the above mentioned scenario without issues, is Enhancement Pack 4 a mandatory component for them, or can ECC 6.0 without any EnH support it already? If it's mandatory, which sub-components of the EnH 4 must be activated in order to support the scenario?
5) Question: In their next SRM phase, they are trying to run scenarios like PPS and Doc Builder. In that case, is Enhancement Pack 4 a mandatory component?
6) Last: Is there any SAP official documentation that maybe answers the question that I listed above?

EhP4 is not mandatory for strategic sourcing, data transfer via RFC can be used.
The benefit with EhP4 for your scenario will be new feature of "Collective Processing of purchase requistion" CPPR; where buyer can select the PReq line items on the portal & create RFx directly in the SRM system. All data transfer is via PI in this scenario. Creating a RFQ in ECC is not a good idea, when you can leverage the RFx capabilities of SRM.

Enhancement Pack 3 updated Warehouse Numbers with an entry for MLO

Hello all,
I am working with a supply chain team, and after the installation of enhancement pack 3, a new warehouse number appeared in the tables.
Warehouse number MLO.
None of us can explain it, but the change log lists an SAPK-603DINT object delivered via SAP transport.
Any thoughts on where the warehouse number came from, or why it got delivered?

This term appears in the Online Support System mainly for the functional area "(Extended) Warehouse Management".
Following the Master Guide for the SAP ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 3 (among others) developments were made in the SAP Industry Scenario "SAP for Wholesale Distribution - Warehouse Management".
Following the enhancement package overview presentation https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80b79088-d508-2b10-b497-b1628cb84166 differnet developments in "warehousing", were done in the SAP ERP Core as well.
If you check out which Business Function you are using (i.e. LOG_MM_CI_2 includes some of these enhancements) you should be able to find out more (see for instance the Business Function documentation in help.sap.com)

in the Master Guides on http://service.sap.com/erp-inst, we recommend that you check the Add-On compatibity prior to installing the enhancement package. For Add-Ons you might need for instance separate "Conflict Resolutions", and should make sure that these are available. You contact the owner of this Add-On to find out more.
If this topic is solved for an Add-On, but the issue still persists, it might be a support topic.
(An Add-On in this sense is anything which you install in addition to the Standard SAP ERP. As the enhancement packages alter SAP ERP, the add-on might need to react. For SAP Add-Ons, this is done with conflict resolution transports)

Performance Issue with RF Scanners after SAP Enhancement Pack 5 Upgrade

We are on component version SAP ECC 6.0, and recently upgraded to Enhancement Pack 5. I believe we are on Net Weaver 7.10, and using RF scanners in one plant that is Warehouse Managed. Evidentially when we moved to EHP5, the Web SAP Console went away and we are left with ITS Mobile. This has created several issues and continues to be a performance barrier for the forklift drivers in the warehouse. We see there is a high use of java script, and the processors canu2019t handle this. When we login to tcode LM00, on a laptop or desktop computer, there are no performance issues. When we login to tcode LM00, with the RF scanners, the system is very slow. It might take 30 seconds to confirm one item on a WM Transfer Order.
1.) Can we revert back to Web SAP Console, after we have upgraded to EHP5?
2.) What is creating the performance issues with the RF Scanners now that we switched over to SAP ITS mobile?
Our RF Scanners are made by Intermec, but I donu2019t think that is where the solution lies. One person in our IT Operations has spent a good deal of time configuring SAPITS to get it to work, but still it isnu2019t performing.

I am sorry I did not see this earlier.
I'm currently working on a very similar project with ITS mobile and the problem is to accurately determine the root cause of the problem in the least amount of time. The tool that works is found here: http://www.connectrf.com/index.php/mcm/managed-diagnostics/
Isolating the network from the application and the device is a time consuming process unless you have a piece of software that can trace the HTTP transaction between host and device on both wired and wireless side of the network. Once that is achieved (as with Connect's tool) you can then you can begin to solve the problem.
What I found in my project is that the amount of data traffic generated by ITS mobile can be reduced drastically, which speeds the response time of the mobile devices, especially with large number of devices in distribution centers.

Hi,
Basically there are two steps for the installation:
1. Installation of SAP ERP 6.0 (including SAP EHP 1 for SAP NW 7.0)
2. Installation of selected parts of Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0
So, the first step is to use sapinst to install the ERP 6.0 with NW 7.01 (the BASIS part)
Then the second step is to use the sapehpi to install the EHP4 for ERP 6.0 (the application part)

Purchase requisition document type change after Enhancement pack 4

we have recently upgraded to enhancement pack 4, after which i am not able to change purchase requisition document type.
In change mode ME52N, the system is allowing to make change but when i goback and display the same PR again the change is not visible in change history also.
I am able to make other changes. facing the problem with change in document type only.

Hi,
One thing please note that once you select the document type and draft the PR and save the PR, you will get the doc number.
Once you get the document number you cannot change the PR document type .
The reason is document type is linked with number range so it cannot be changed because different seriers of document number is assined to differentdocument type.
And moreover document type is linked with the screen settings also. So I would request you to check the settings for each doc. type

RFx Response Submission Outside Firewall in SRM 7 Enhancement pack 1.

Dear Experts,
As you know, the bid response part has been moved to SUS in srm 7 enhancement pack 1 to enable the suppliers to respond to bid invitation from SUS system itself.
Does it mean that the suppliers cannot respond to bid invitation in SRM server directly or there is an option for customers to activate the customizing switch for that?
SUS system may not be used by all suppliers of a buyer.
Could you please throw some light on it?

Option on if you want the bidder to create response in SRM or SUS is controlled in the transaction type with a field called Bid system
Here choose External supplier system or Internal SAP SRM system.
When you create an RFX you will have a field called Bidder system where you choose External supplier system or Internal SAP SRM system. This field be already populated depending on what is set in your transaction.
Here External supplier system will be your SUS (decoupled concept) and Internal SAP SRM system will be EBP (normal sourcing)

Has anyone gone from Netweaver 7.0 to Enhancment Pack 1 on a BW system ?

Would like to know how the change went for you ?   Problem areas ?
Were you using it with Business Objects and Webi, so did you see the improvements in MDX performance ?

Just for anyone's information.   We were told we had to use ERP Enhancement Pack 4 (containing Netweaver Enhancement Pack 1) as we also have SEM and FIN-BASIS components on our systems.
We had to go thru several notes and bypass error messages to get it in to our sandbox, but have it there now. Are starting to test the functionality.   I will post another question about activation for NW Enhp 1, as that is not clear. But I'm am considering this one closed.

Enhancement Pack 2 impact on ESS for ECC 6.0

We are planning to upgrade one of our systems (evaluation system) from EA-HR 600 to EA-HR 602 (Enhancement Pack 2 SP2)
There's some ongoing ESS configurations (just ESS) on this evaluation system.
What is the impact of an Enhancement Pack 2 import/upgrade towards the existing ESS configurations ?
Has anyone experienced extensive 'overwriting of existing ESS configuration' or does the EnhP 2 introduces new functionalities leaving the existing configurations untouched ?
Do ESS functional folks have to redo the bulk of their config ?
