Added a text frame with two columns,inside each column added two split column so i want to get the gutter value of split columns(value of inside gutter and outside gutter).So how to get these values Please reply.

Your other questions seem to have been about scripting or automation of some sort, so I'd like some clarifiaction, if you don't mind. Are you looking for an answer to how to calculate the gutter and frame insets manually (in which case I would probably answer they can be anything you like) or for what the default would be (inset 0 and gutter as specified in Document setup, unless changed), or are you trying to retrieve these values from a frame via script?

Default gutter width for drawing text boxes for overset text

I have master pages that were created with columns and the correct gutter width we want. When I drag a story from a window (a window that is part of our CMS) and place it on the page, the gutters between the text columns are correct -- p9 (or 0.125 inches). But if I draw a new text box or if I click the red plus to draw a text box for overset text, the gutter is a full pica (or 0.1667 inches).
I want any text box that is drawn on the page or any overset text box that is drawn to default to p9 for gutters.
I don't want to manually change the gutter for every new text box I draw.
I'm using ID with CS4.

The default gutter in a multi-column frame is set in the object style under Text Frame General Options. If you haven't defined any new styles you only need to edit the [Basic Text Frame] style. New frames will use the new gutter value when you add columns. If you have object styles for other text frames, you'll need to edit those, too. For existing frames, if the number of columns has been changed manually, you will need to reset the gutter.

Directly editing the output of Muse is virtually always a bad idea. At a minimum it will create a very cumbersome workflow since Muse will overwrite your changes every time you re-export (export, upload, publish, preview).
It depends on exactly what visual effect you want to achieve, but you probably just need to select the accordion widget and use the Spacing panel to adjust the vertical gutter value.

How to get Navigation Bar Spacing?

I have been really frustrated by this for days now. I can see someone has posted a similar question but it has not been answered.....hopefully someone can help me.

With the Menu selected, you can increase the Gutter value in the Spacing panel in order to add spacing between the Menu items.

This would depend as what and where you exactly want to align page items. Examples being:
1) To align the content on the Muse canvas, you may refer to the following link:
How do you center objects and or a website vertically and horizontally in Muse?
2) To fix certain content on the browser window, you may center it as in the above scenario, and use the Pin feature to fix it in the browser.
3) To align some text vertically in a text frame, you may refer to:

4) To align with reference to other content, you may you the Align panel (Window->Align)
Additionally , you can use padding/gutter value for spacing in respect to alignment in spacing panel, similarly Align panel can be used to align objects on page accordingly.
If this is not the answer you are looking for then please provide more details as what you are trying to achieve , screenshots would help.

How to see values (null, 0) instead of blank fields

Hi.
I search the forum but only found messages about users who want to show fields blank, when value is null.
I have the problem other way around. I work with DevSuite 10g and have a xml-Report.
I have fields and for some the query returns null (no value). Than the report shows nothing for this fields. Neither a blank line nor a value like 0.
The problem is, that the other values afterwards the blank ones, slip above.
For Example:
field 1
field 2
field 3
field 4
The Query returns null for field 2 and 3.
Then on the report I see:
field 1
field 4
But what I want to see is:
field 1
field 4
or:
field 1
0
0
field 4
But all I tested doesn´t work. I set a value for "when null" in the attribute inspector and the horizontal elasticity of "fix" (I thought it maybe it "slip together" so it is not shown).
Has anyone a idea how I can show a (blank or 0 value) instead of nothing, so that fields afterwards doesn´t slips up?

I think it was from query, but it is anyway if it is from query or from form (it´s not from column).

We solve this problem in a similar way.
We put a field under/over the other. We give the field we want to show a white background. So it is "sitting" over the other and the underlaying one is not shown (because the overlaying one has a white background).
If the overlaying one is blank it is not shown (so it can´t has a white background) and we see the underlaying field.
But to use triggers is a better solution.
I solve it on the same way as explained above but using triggers also.
But I have to leave a statement about Oracles Report Builder. Sorry but it is more than horrible program. I never have seen such a (also new and) bad programmed program. It is more than hard to work with it ... it cost me every hour I use it more and more power to stay quite ...
Here are the things I really wish to change at reports bulder directly:
- more than one step back (undo)
- there is a difference between the output in reports bulder on the paper output, what is shown when you print it on a paper (from reports bulder) and from what is shown in a PDF file produced with a reports server (that is really annoying, you never now if it is correct what you see in reports builder!)
- better editing and better selectable of the text-boxes and fields
- a way to hierarchically objects that are on the same layer (frame) so that you can really bank on it, that one object is ever behind another one
- not only moving and scaling of fields and boxes on a fix gutter (free transforming and moving would be great) because sometimes a text or a box with line around is not on the right place (out of order; above another object/text a.s.o.) and when it is (why I don´t really know) is not on the right place and the distance to the other object is less than the fix gutter-distance you can´t move it in such a way, that the two objects are flush with/on a fix line/place. It´s because the fix gutter. The distance is lower than the gutter, if you move it, it is not makeable to move it this less-than-the-gutter-distance to be flush with the other object. You can only move it in the fix gutter-distance and than it can´t be flush with the other objects.
It looked really bad and amateurish!
- a tool (a button or something) where you can marked object to flush all together on the same line, so that all objects for example are flush together on one start-line or ends (horizontal or vertical flush).
It would be great and would the work so really easier and better.

1 Place ur UI element in tranparent container with Layout as Row Data and Layout Data as Row Head Data
2 Ur first UI , which contains the first value as Row Head Data ,
3 Others as Row Data
u can do it with Matrix Data as well
if u want to give space , u can use HORIZONTAL GUTTER and set its width to medium / large / Xlarge
also there is a UI element "INVISIBLE ELEMENT" ,
1 u can use this UI element to provide space between ur other UI elements in the view
2 u can insert a text element as well , and in the Text property of the element press ALT + 0160.
u can give the space bw UIs as desired.

Advice for editor gutter implementation...

Hello Java Gurus!
I am writing to you to seek advice regarding how one best could implement the gutter in a
textual editor. A gutter is a section, often to the left of the editing area, where line numbers
and different markers can be added to improve the interaction with the editor.
Just to play around and see how it would look like, I put a JPanel inside a scolled pane
and added two text areas to the JPanel. Using a border layout the gutter is placed to the west
and the editing area in the center. This quit test just showed me that this is what I am aiming
for, but it needs to be implemented with some intelligence. If the gutter is a text area and
the line numbers are printed out, the solution becomes quite slow for files that contain more
than about a thosand lines.
Both for looks and performance issues, what do you people feel would be the best solution
to implement the gutter? Am I correct in asuming that drawing the line numbers would be a
better solution? Anybody here who has played around with something similar that has some
advice?

Here's something I've been using for a while now. It doesn't have bookmarking or any other interactive functions, but it works correctly with wrapped lines. I use it with a JTextArea, but it should work with a JTextPane or JEditorPane as well.

Guideguide and PS CS6 false gutter width

I create a new project with this setting
canvas size width 1060 pixels / height 2000 pixels
image size width 1060 pixels / height 2000 pixels
the i install guideguide and i set the value find in the attach upload psd to create a vertical guides refer to 960 grid .
i import 960 raster grid in background to be sure than the vertical guide are ok
But there is a problem when i want to verify that the width of all gutters is 20 px manually , when i use the rectangular marquee tool ( that stick to the vertical line guide ) photoshop show me for gutter G1 and G10 the value 21 pixels width !!! In a way photoshop marquee tool don't succeed to begin drawing the rect selection using the vertical line create by guigeguide for some gutters /column ? !!
the first and last column width is also set to 61 rather than 60 px !!!.
Does the error come from photoshop , guiguide or windows 8 64 bit ?
Is there a setting to take care to have not this problem ?

Edit ->preference -> General->option->Snap vector tools and transforms to pixel grid [enable|check]
A) i change after post this setting preference for Gridline display every 1px (& 1 subdivision)
I don't know if doing this is the way to go !!
B) i don't see in ps preference a label call "align to pixel grid" !!

C) when re open the psd file and zoom /de zoom the width value is ok !
very strange , in the past after try to "reverse " css to photoshop i find that pixel perfect is a myth !!

Remove 10 pixel gutter from between portlet columns

Hello.
We'd like to remove the 10px gutter from between the portlet columns. We've received advice about changing the UI code using UICI but we're concerned about upgrade-path stability. If any of that BEA base code changes, we're hosed.
Ideas? Is there a config setting somewhere?

Also this is the only way that I am aware of doin this. Changing teh portlet layout by changing the values BEA has in the Stylesheet doen't work. It's a bug according to BEA.

Get all values from request.getParameter

In ASP, I can do something like that...

You can use request.getParameterNames() which will return an enumeration, then you can iterate through the enumeration and use request.getParameterValue(String paramName) method to get the values.

Error while assigning a character value to a numeric variable.

I fire a sql statement and check the number of rows returned by the sql.
I check this result with the application logs.
The application logs keeps the sqls fired by the application and the no of rows returned, in the example below the sql returned 8454 rows.
My script compares the two results.

(This example was not tested, it's just for a model.)
Someone more of an SQL guru than I can probably tell you how to change your numeric locale to avoid presenting those commas in the first place and avoid the problem.

Issue in Creation of new Value Field in CO-PA

Hi,
I have a query in CO-PA Value Field Linking.
In my Development Client,
1. Created a New Value Field (No Transport Request Generated)
2. Linked to the above to new Conditon type created in SD. (Tranport request was generated) i.e. in Flow of Actual Values->Transfer of Billing Documents->Assign Value Fields
However then i try creating a new Value Field in my Production Client it throws a message 'You have no authorization to change Fields".
Is this an issue with authorization or i need to transport the Value field too from Development to Production client.
Please Advise.

Unable to capture return values in web services api

At the time of login to web services if my server is down ,
it returns following error :

Here if the report is not there on the server , it returns a null handler exception.
but if i try catching it by checking my responsehandler is null like rh == null it does not catch it.
Any help will be appreciated

I have got a list of servers running web servcies stored in my tokens. when i pass the first server name say " test:8080" and that server is down , i want to catch somewhere in the code above that it did not get the connection so that i can loop back and try with the second server say test1:8080
This is for failover purposes.
at present when i was trying to capture return value of boSI it breaks giving the error
java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1
at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1438)
at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1411)
2nd case :
I am geeting reports from the server and scheduling them:
i run the following code which works fine if reports is there
rh = boBIPlatform.get("path://InfoObjects/Root Folder/"src_folder"/" + reportName +
"@SI_SCHEDULEINFO,SI_PROCESSINFO" ,oGetOptions);
oInfoObjects = rh.getInfoObjects();
CrystalReport = (CrystalReport)oInfoObjects.getInfoObject(0);
Here if the report is not there on the server then i should be able to catch from the response handle rh that it has got a null value.
but rh does not return a null value
the code ultimately throws a null handle at the following line
CrystalReport = (CrystalReport)oInfoObjects.getInfoObject(0);
i am not able to catch the null value there also.
