GW 2012 - RSS-Feeds don't refresh automatically

Hello everybody!
Our Novell GroupWise 2012 runs on terminal server. There is no problem in adding RSS-Feeds to your GroupWise system. But if you want to configure a refreshing interval, no refreshing will happen. You must refresh the Feeds manually.
Installing GroupWise 2012 local on a pc, everthing ist fine even the refreshing interval works.
I have no idea how to solve this problem and I hope anybody can help me.
Thanking you in anticipation!

I don't know of any setting that you could specifically set for this to work... possibly terminal services disables something that is used by the update mechanism.,
In any case & good to know, which client version (build number/sp level) are you using on the terminal server?

  • The RSS feeds don't automatically update in Safari

I've been using safari for a number of years with my RSS feeds updating whilst giving me a number of unread articles in my bookmark bar. For a number of months this has not been updating correctly.
I read all articles but no new one appear dispite new things being posted, this can go on for days and nothing fixes it (not even restarting safari) unless I completely restart my system. I've had this problem as I've said for a few months so it has had at least one software update for lion and I think at least one for safari as well. My sofware updates are all current.
If I go to the feed page it only contains old articles that I have previously read.
    Thanks

  • [Safari 3.2.1] Authenticated RSS Feeds Don't Remember Password

    Hello there,
I am using Safari 3.2.1 on OS X 10.5.6. Machine is a 2.5 ghz Core 2 Duo MBP. For work, I use a number of RSS feeds that use authentication - I think HTTP basic auth. The feeds themselves are HTTPS, so the URLs look like:
    feed:https://foobar.com/etc
The issue is that Safari won't retain keychain access for these feeds between restarts. So I open Safari, and the feed shows no new articles on the bookmark bar. I click on the bookmark, and I am prompted for the username and password. I check the box that says "add to keychain," and the feed continues to work as long as I'm running Safari. Shutting it down clears the cached credentials though, and then I am prompted again - even though I added the password to the keychain. When I open keychain access, I see a stored password for:
    https://foobar.com
Any ideas? This is really hurting my workflow with RSS feeds for my job.

For your own sanity's sake and future sake of your system, you should run a disk block check using Apple Hardware Test, TechTool Deluxe or Pro, or DiskWarrior, whichever you have available.
The disk I/O error is a real phenomenon - there was a disk error reading a block on the disk.
By deleting the file in question, the bad block was released back into the free disk block pool, meaning it will show up in some other file in the future if it's actually a physical bad block on the disk.
What's more likely is that it was a block written with a bad checksum, which means the bad block will correct itself the next time that block on the disk is written to, so you may not see it again even if you use one of the disk tools I mentioned above.
But it's always good to test to make sure it isn't a physical bad block that will come back to haunt you when some other file on your system uses that disk block.

  • Rss Widget don´t refresh

    Hi,
I´m using iweb for my music website http://www.montelunai.com and using some Rss Widget for some information. The problem is that the Rss Widget is not refreshing, even after waiting for some days...
    Any help?

Exactly the same problem here. See www.k-pro.nl.
I am not sure but this issue may have started after installing Snow Leopard.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Hans.

  • System Update and RSS feeds don't work (or "no news is good news")

My Moto Droidx upgraded itself to Android 2.2 and since then, the RSS feeds I had are not showing any new entries. Checking the underlying websites shows that new entries have been made.
Any attempt to create new Moto or Andrioid RSS news widgets comes back with an error (of course it just says "error" with no number or explanation).
Has anyone else seen this?   Is there some news blackout in placeIs there a fix or a way to back off Android 2.2???
    Thanks.

I have provided some steps below that may help.
Step 1 – Try completing a soft reset on the device. I have provided the instruction in an article below:
Power off the device and remove the battery
    http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=33747
Step 2 – Remove the widget and icon off the devices home screen and clear out the data and cache. I have provided the instruction article below:
Clear data, Clear cache (if applicable), and Clear defaults
    http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=34831
Step 3 – Put the device into safe mode. Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. This is beneficial for troubleshooting 3rd party applications. I have provided the instruction in an article below:
    http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=34184
If it works correctly in safe mode, there may be a application not native to the device causing the issue

  • RSS feed subscription in a semi-automatic way (SharePoint online)

I have a site with a lot of subsites. I want to user to be able to subscribe to RSS feed in a more automatic way.
If possible I would add a button or link to a subsite. When the user clicks this he/she is subscribed to (my pre-defined) set of RSS feeds, at once (that will be about 50 lists and document libraries).
    Is this possible?
    Thanks, Mike

  • Safari 4.0.3 fails to open RSS feeds

    hi,
on my machine safari is unable to open RSS feeds.
I just get an error saying "can't open connection".
Also in the mail application the subscribed RSS feeds don't update.
When I change the system user everything works fine,
so it seems to be a user-profile problem.
I found several posts on that via google and deleted a lot of safari system files, repaired user permissions, restarted a lot of times - but nothing helped.
The problem remained after updating to snow leopard.

    Hello b:
If you have not done so, reset Safari and then trash the preference file (com.apple.safari.plist). Then restart your computer and reenter your Safari personal preferences.

  • Mail RSS Feed Problem

Hello, I've got a problem with my RSS feeds in Mail and it's driving me nuts. I had a number of feeds which were all working properly and suddenly my craigslist feeds stopped. All previous and new feeds still work but the craigslist feeds give me the error "There was an error updating the RSS feed “santabarbara.craigslist.org” - The requested URL was not found on this server."
I thought it might be a problem with craigslist but their feed works fine in my Firefox Live Bookmarks. It only appears to not be working in Mail. It was around the time of the 10.6.4 update but I can't be certain. I'm thinking it could be some sort of cache issue for just that site but don't know how to check.
One of the feeds is http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/med/index.rss
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Rob

When you say you tried Safari & Firefox to read feeds from CraigsList, do you mean just loading the RSS URL's (e.g. http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/med/index.rss ) into the browser directly? For myself, CraigsList RSS feeds don't load in Safari 5 either but it does seem to work via Firefox 3.6.3. I bet this might have been the WebKit (Safari 5) update that broke something.
And yes, my CraigsList RSS feeds broke in Apple Mail too (which is what brought me here). I filed a Radar bug ( rdar://problem/8161076 ) to alert Apple internal people.

  • Can you add an RSS feed on an iweb blog that would allow visitors to receive new entries by email?

Can you add an RSS feed on an iweb blog that would allow visitors to receive new blog entries through their email?

RSS feeds don't do that - if they add the feed to an RSS reader (including Safari or FireFox) they will see new updates every time they check: but sending them emails on each added episode would require extra programming in the actual program, which iWeb doesn't provide. You would need to have a mailing list and send out an email manually each time you add an episode.

  • RSS feeds in Leopard Mail no longer work

Had been working fine until about a week ago, then they stopped being updated. Clicking on the error icon in Mail says the problem is "There was an error updating the RSS feeds. Mail cannot start a session with the system-wide RSS service. No RSS feeds will be refreshed."
I hadn't changed anything in Mail- didn't find anything in the discussions about this. I'd sent the error to Apple about a week ago- haven't heard/
    Thanks!

I cannot figure out why either, but this seemed to start two days ago. No updates that I know of, except one for Mac for Office (which obviously should not affect anything else). None of the links in my incoming email are working. Caused a work problem this morning when I could not access an online conference I needed to attend. Could not open the link in their email to get in!
Also, I have had intermittent "sending" issues where my messages seem to "hang" and give me an error message about the server.
I have used Mac Mail for years, same network, etc. and have never had any issues...now two issues seem to have cropped up at once! I'll try the restart again, as suggested. Does Apple know about this?

  • Firefox 13.0+ bookmarked RSS feeds won't auto refresh

Hello. Since Firefox 13.0 and above (up to the latest 17 pre alpha nightly) the feature that allows your bookmarked RSS feeds to be automatically updated is GONE. Previously popular browser.bookmarks.livemark_refresh_seconds (I had to enter this value) either broken or does not exist in the latest FF versions, it is simply does not work.
I've tried everything, starting from disabling add-ons to safe mode but nothing helps in solving this problem. Could you please tell if this is a bug or this feature is no longer supported in Firefox so I can stop bothering and switch to another browser
    Best Regards

Yes, you now need to refresh the live feed items manually because live feeds now work as regular bookmarks.<br />
Only the initial loading is automatic the first time you open a live feed bookmark.

  • Automatic Download of RSS Feed Content

    Hi,
I have read a number of posts on rss feeds, saying that it wasnt possible to see the entire article in the mail application without clicking on "read more".
What I want to know is if there is any way to automatically download all content, so that when the computer is offline, i can click on "read more" and see the article.
    thanks for your help
    raph

The feeds that don't show the entire article don't have the full text of the post in the feed so there's no additional content to download (it's already getting everything in the feed). It'd display the same in any RSS reader because those feeds are only showing summaries or part of the article.
That said, it's definitely kind of annoying how the "read more" link shows up even if the full text of the post is in the feed. It really should only show up if the feed doesn't have the full text.

  • I just wanted to know how to stop loading of rss feeds automatically ? In prior to FF 11 the rss feeds would display if there was no internet connection

I just wanted to know how to stop loading of rss feeds automatically ? In prior to FF 11 the rss feeds would display if there was no internet connection but now in newer version it would say live bookmark failed to load and doesn't display any feeds, in previous version it would atleast display feeds but in newer version it won't display anything:(

hello Nitin1234, the handling of live bookmarks was changed quite fundamentally starting in firefox 13 & upwards in order to improve the overall performance of the browser - now rss feeds won't get updated in the background anymore but will only be fetched when you're actively accessing them. this is probably leading to the unwanted side-effect that you're experiencing, unfortunately i don't know any way around that.
nevertheless please [[Update Firefox to the latest version|update firefox to the latest version]] (16.0.1 at the moment) to stay secure on the web, since there have been many [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html highly critical vulnerabilities fixed] since firefox 11/13!

  • How do i set different refresh frequencies for different RSS-feeds?

Suppose I have 10 different RSS-feeds. Now, I want feed #1 to refresh every 5 minutes, feed #2 - every hour, feed #3 - every 3 hours, etc. I know how to set refresh frequency for all the items in the RSS-folder (that's done through account settings). The problem is it can be done for the folder as a whole, but not for individual items.

Go into the app whose notification you want to change, hit menu, then settings (or preferences), you'll find the notification settings in there.

  • I have done what it said in a previous question and exported my IE RSS feeds, but I can't understand how to import them into FireFox ot how to view them once they are imported.

In a previous question, someone asked hoe to import RSS feeds from IE to FireFox:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/358684?s=rss&as=q
I have done as it says, but had trouble with the second step which was "installing OPML Support 1.5.2 extension for Firefox, which you can use to import OPML file you just exported from IE". I think I installed the extension, but now what? how does it help me import the feeds? And where do i view RSS feeds in FireFox?
