GW 7: Open a custom folder via ViewOpen token

Hello,
I'm trying to open a custom folder via ViewOpen(6;;"FirstName
LastName\CustomFolder"). This has been working with GroupWise 6.5, with
GroupWise 7.x it opens the Inbox only.
Has there been any changes to ViewOpen token function between GroupWise 6.5
and Groupwise 7.x, or is this a bug?
Thanks for your reply
jr

Right - which leads to the more general point that the folder name
structure is different in 7.0

  • Open KM folder via WebDav - Invalid Item ID

    Hi!
In our KM SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0 we have some folders where a ! is in the name. There was no problem accessing these folders via WebDav since we installed SP 18. If I will access this folder now via WebDav, paste WebDav Url from flder into IE7 and open the link 'Navigation user interface' afterwards I will get an message like this: Invalid Item ID - the item you are attempting to access does not exists. Check wether the name of the associated repository is correct. In the Portal Log i found the following information: Syntax error in URI placeholder: <path to folder>
    Any idea?
    Thanks, Daniel

    Hi Nitsan,
It depends from where you want to open the webdav folder.
    1. From explorer:
Go to My network places, and add a new one with the URL you used before. Now it should open directly as a webdav folder. You can also map this to a network drive.
    2 From a website:
Insert a link in the website using the following format:
    <a style="behavior: url(#default#AnchorClick)" title="Webmap" href="" folder="http://<hostname>:<port>/irj/go/km/docs/<km path>">Webfolder</a>
This should open directly from the website as a webdav folder.

  • How do I stop extra windows or programs from opening automatically when I access my Applications folder via Finder?

Each time I access my Applications folder via Finder, a bunch of ejectable windows or previously downloaded programs open up on the desktop. I have ejected each one or placed it in the trash, but it still happens. How do I stop this from happening?

I asked the same question on Yahoo! Answers, and I was advised to reinstall Firefox, which I have just done (with version 3.6.8). The problem seems to be solved. Prior to doing this, I attempted to uninstall my previous version, but Control Panel wouldn't let me do this, nor would Windows Explorer allow me to send the whole Mozilla Firefox folder to the Recycle Bin. I went to Plan C, which was to delete all the subfolders in the main folder, followed by the leftover files, and finally empty the Recycle bin. Then I used Internet Explorer to download the newer version of Firefox, and installed it. No more extra home pages, so far.

  • Why can not I open WinRAR and WinZIP via MS Web Folder?

Why can not I open WinRAR and WinZIP via MS Web Folder?
For example, If you attempt to open the zip-file error: "Invalid fileid: <file name> ".

    Hi -
I am unable to replicate your issue. I am able to open winzip files just fine through MSWebFolders. Your Windows client may have an older version of the Web Folder Client (MSDAIPP.DLL). Can you find that file on computer (should be in common files\system\oledb) and check the version (right click --> properties -->version flag). We support 12.0.6415.1000. There may be issues with older versions of that file (some of those issues are discussed here - http://greenbytes.de/tech/webdav/webfolder-client-list.html).
Office 2007 SP2 provides the most recent version of MSDAIPP.DLL

  • How to Open a Specific Folder in the Finder via Shortcut Key

I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere, so sorry for not finding it...
Is it possible to assign a shortcut key to open a specific folder with Automator or AppleScript? There are 4-5 commonly used folders buried 10-11 levels deep on a server and I'd love to have a shortcut key to open those particular folders in the Finder.
Could you give me some assistance?
    Thanks!

QuickKeys may work, or you can look on http://www.versiontracker.com or http://www.macupdate.com for other alternatives.
Another option is to create aliases to those folders and store the aliases in a local folder which you can place on your Dock, the Finder window sidebar or toolbar.

  • Can Thunderbird be opened to a folder other than inbox.

We're all pretty much flooded with junk mail. I'm to the point where it would be more effective to open Mozilla to a custom folder (i.e. not inbox) and populate that folder with selected contacts (i.e. not all contacts).
    Any thoughts?
filtering out junk is just getting too cumbersome, it would be much easier to filter based on contact name.
Example of how it would work:
    1) Set Thunderbird to open specific folder
    2) Select email that gets sent to that folder via Contacts

This sounds like you have not set up Junk Controls nor trained TB to recognise Junk.
I set up Junk Controls, trained it to recognise both what is good and what is Junk.
Now all Junk goes to Junk folder automatically. My Inbox rarely gets Junk and if it does I mark it as Junk and TB remembers this.
Please read info on setting up all the various sections to do with Junk Controls. Work through each section.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Junk_Mail_Controls
    Additional:
The Inbox should be used as an Inbox and not as a general store, so keep it low in email numbers and compact frequently.

I am trying to run a new customized folder form and rather i get the expected layout of the form, i got a message indicating that i must set the value for the GLOBAL.FOLDER_VERIFY_MODE variable to TRUE via examine. the message exactly is:
FOLDER ERROR: please use examine to set global.folder_verify_mode to TRUE instead of calling app_folder.event('verify')i pressed ok so i can go to examine and set it as requested, but when i pressed ok another window appeared with "save folder" title
it asks me for the folder name, autoquery type (always, never, ask each time) and check boxes for (open as default, public, include query )... i uploaded it in the link: http://dc05.arabsh.com/i/00631/pgdhfq099o4c.JPG

  • Item based on a formula in a custom folder

Hi, actually I'm using Discoverer 4i and I have a problem when I create (with the administrator) an item based on a formula inside a custom folder.
The item is based on the following formula :
    GET_THRESHOLD(Name,'XXI_SZF_SLA_Thresholds_Kormos') -- (1)
    where:
GET_THRESHOLD is a function that returns a number
Name is the first parameter (and at the same time another item of the custom folder)
    'XXI_SZF_SLA_Thresholds_Kormos' is an hardcoded value.
So..when I wrote the formula into the Item Properties, this is written correctly and when I connect with Desktop or Viewer my report works correctly.
But when I close and I re-open the administrator, I see the following formula
    GET_THRESHOLD(Name,'XXI') -- (2)
.....how it was saved in a wrong way....or truncated....
I tried to check also the flag "Automatically save changes after each edit"....but I see always, after I reopened the administrator, the formula (2) and not the formula (1)
Is seems that my changes are not saved !!
Is this a bug ? Can I fix it in some way ?
    Thanks in advance
    Alex

    hi,
    1. Try to execute the function manually by passing the same value.
    2. Discoverer formats the names of Items/folders/parameters etc by replacing underscores ("_") with a space, so this might be the reason, why it converts the value to : 'XXI SZF SLA Thresholds Kormos' and takes only the first string "XXI".
    3. Try passing a value without "_".
    Hope this helps!

  • Finder: Cannot open a certain folder in list or coverflow view (OS9 folder, maybe polluted legacy?)

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
I observe a very strange Finder bug (already in 10.5, and still now in 10.6), which only occurs within one specific folder with certain Finder view modes (list, coverflow).
    ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS & SPECULATION:
I already tried everything to fix it, both by GUI and CLI means, such as recursively setting file/folder permissions to default values, erasing .DS_Store and Icon files, etc, but nothing helped so far. The troubling folder and its contents (files and subfolders) is quite old, created still while OS Classic days, maybe it contains some "bad legacy / leftovers", like deprecated filesystem flags or resource forks, which cause the trouble.
    PROBLEM DETAILS:
    This is the directory structure:
    ~/Documents/Songs:
       /Composing
       /Final
       /Patches
       /Web
All folders can be accessed in any view mode without any troubles, except "Composing".
If the parent folder "Songs" is set to icon or column view mode, then "Composing" can be opened.
But in list view (my default view), or coverflow, the opening action, regardless wether via mouse double click or keystroke CMD-ArrowDown, causes no update of the window content. The window content remains in a flawed look and responseless state, only closing or using the return-navigation on the toolbar UI area puts the window content into a correct and reactable state again, or opening a new window and navigating to "Songs" again.
The time-correlating message to this error in the Console.app log reads:
    Finder *** -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: index (9) beyond bounds (9)
Interestingly: If you are within "Songs" using the list view, collapsing the folder "Composing" via the triangle symbol successfully renders the folders content, and you can navigate further down in the hierarchy with the collapsing method, and even double-click subfolders, which then open normally in list view. Just "Composing" itself shows this mysterious bug.

Maybe some of the invisible .DS_Store files in your folders are corrupt.
Launch your Terminal and paste the blue code below into it.
Press Return and type in your password - press Return again and wait for the word 'done.' to appear.
    Then quit the Terminal.
sudo find / -name \.DS_Store -exec rm -fP {} \;;echo done.
Next, relaunch the Finder - press Command Option - click and hold down the Finder in your Dock and select Relaunch.
    Good luck,
    Tom

  • Yosemite - custom folder icons

I made a set of custom folder icons in OS X many years ago. Those folder icons have stuck with me through many revs of OS X, from 10.4 onward - until Yosemite. Now all of my folders (and shortcuts to them) show a blank, generic icon. This happens both on my Mac Pro and my iMac, both of which now have Yosemite installed.
Where have my customs icons gone? Can I get them back without having to redo the artwork? Can I use my old custom icons in Yosemite?

I don't think there is as the custom icon information is stored as a separate fork, which SMB has no knowledge of.
    A couple of possiblities are:
    1) Enabling SFM (Microsoft Services for Macintosh) on the windows server. You can have the share mapped via SMB and AFP.
    2) On the server use ExtremeZ-IP http://www.grouplogic.com/products/extreme/overview.cfm
    3) Maybe on the clients use DAVE http://www.thursby.com/products/dave.html
I would recommend downloading the following Webcast, the first half gives a good overview of Mac's in a Windows environment:

  • Custom Folder Icons

Alright, 8330 Curve with Sprint, running 4.5
When I upgraded from 4.2, I wanted to get rid of the Voice Activated Dialing feature, as well as several other carrier-specific features that I didn't want to take up space.....so I went in and removed the associated files, using a tutorial widely available.  I did know when doing this, that I would lose the ability to create custom colored folder icons.  No biggie.
Especially no big deal, when I used the standard Sprint theme, which has some very nice looking folders for IM/Social Networks/Entertainment.
However, I recently changed themes just to the simple BB L theme, and of course, lost all of those icons.  I found a post taken from another page, which gave a tutorial, using BBFileScout to load custom folder icons into the BlackBerry.  However, I have a small problem.  I don't have a subdirectory for "Folders" where it should be - presumably due to the removal of the VAD.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello
Finder's container's "expanded" and "completely expanded" properties have long been marked "NOT AVAILABLE YET" under OSX:
Finder.sdef > Containers and Folders suite
container n [inh. item] : An item that contains other items
        elements
contains items, containers, folders, files, alias files, application files, document files, internet location files, clippings, packages.
        properties
entire contents (specifier, r/o) : the entire contents of the container, including the contents of its children
expandable (boolean, r/o) : (NOT AVAILABLE YET) Is the container capable of being expanded as an outline?
expanded (boolean) : (NOT AVAILABLE YET) Is the container opened as an outline? (can only be set for containers viewed as lists)
completely expanded (boolean) : (NOT AVAILABLE YET) Are the container and all of its children opened as outlines? (can only be set for containers viewed as lists)
container window (specifier, r/o) : the container window for this folder
A way to expand a given folder is to use keystroke command of System Events to invoke the keyboard shortcut in Finder. Something like the following script.
      kLeftArrowCharCode            = 28,
      kRightArrowCharCode           = 29,
      kUpArrowCharCode              = 30,
      kDownArrowCharCode            = 31,
--set f to (path to downloads folder from user domain) -- target folder e.g.
    set f to (choose folder)
    tell application "Finder"
        reveal f
        tell Finder window 1
            set cv to current view
if cv = column view then return -- do nothing
if cv = icon view then set current view to list view
        end tell
        my _keystroke(it, character id 29, {option down, command down}, 0.2)
    end tell
    on _keystroke(_app, _key, _modifiers, _delay)
            reference _app : application reference
string _key : character(s) to be keystroked [1]
list _modifiers : list of modifier key to be pressed; enumerations are
                    command down
                    option down
                    shift down
                    control down
number _delay : post-delay amount [sec]
[1] Character must be present on the current keyboard layout. Otherwise, it is replaced by 'a'.
        tell _app to activate
        tell application "System Events"
tell (process 1 whose bundle identifier = (_app's id))
                keystroke _key using _modifiers
            end tell
        end tell
if _delay > 0 then delay _delay
    end _keystroke

  • Unable to open iTunes music folder on NAS after 10.5.6 update

I just updated my system to 10.5.6 and am now unable to open my iTunes music folder on my Sans Digital MN2L NAS. I can connect to the device and open every other folder but not the music folder. When I try to open the folder the finder window shows the spinning whatever in the bottom right corner for about 10 seconds and then restarts. This occurs when I connect using Bonjour and SMB. I can open the folder in question through my windows laptop without problem. There are approximately 1200 subfolders contained within the Music folder. My iMac and NAS are both connected through the same gigabit switch via CAT 5e.

I just found a post on another board that appears to have solved my problem. The issue wasn't really with the NAS but rather with a file that the finder left in the Music folder in the NAS.
The following is an excerpt from the post I found:
DS_STORE files might very well have been the culprit. I was given the advice and link to the
    following:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_16831&sliceId=2
Now I've only just resolved it however I have accessed folders which previsouly always resulted in a
crash. Some other links I was sent:

  • Why can't I open a playlist folder and drag and drop playlists in it?

I have hundreds of playlists that I am trying to organize via playlist folders. Right now I have to select a single playlist and drag it all the way to the top to the selected playlist folder. That is very tedious and time consuming! I have tried to open the playlist folder and just drag and drop the playlist but no go on that. Is there a way to move multiple playlists at the same time to the same playlist folder?

    Sorry, I misunderstood your question.
I found no way to drag multiple playlists unless I collect them into a folder first and then drag that folder all the distance.
But you could try to shorten the way you have to drag the playlist, by collapsing all folders but the one you are working on.
I keep one big folder, that usually hold all my playlist and playlist folders.
When I want to rearrange certain folders I move them from this container and close the folder containing all the rest. Then I can move the from one folder to the other without too much scrolling.

  • Mail badge for custom folder

I am running OS X Lion 10.7.2. I have configured my iCloud mail ID with the Mail app. I am also having my Gmail forwarded to my iCloud mail ID, and thanks to a rule I created in the web interface for iCloud mail, all mail being forwarded from Gmail lands in a particular folder in the Mail app. The problem is that the unread mail count badge does not appear for mails arriving in that custom folder. Is there a workaround to it?

It seems not possible for me. May be using some scripts via GPO to modify this settings. Youcould ask in scripting, but I don't think it would be an easy work.
