Unable to communicate with GroupWise Monitor Agent. How to fix this problem?

Is the monitor agent running? That's the first question of course. Where
is in in relation to your WebServer?

How does the Linux monitor agent perform email notification? Have a complaint that not all events are being emailed, consistently.

Why not use our own GWIA? The destination is internal. Right now, it is going to the (a) GWIA. I can change it, if necessary.

  • Linux Monitor Agent Web Console Preferences Won't Save!

Have recently installed GW Monitor on a Linux box and all seems fine except for the following:
Within the Monitor Agent Web Console I browse to menu items 'Preferences' and then select 'Setup' to view details on the 'HTTP Settings', 'SNMP Settings', 'HTTP Settings' etc.
From here all my settings are configured correctly except the texboxes under the 'Notify' and 'HTTP Settings' headings refuse to save any details that are entered into them, even after clicking on the 'submit' button, bizarre!!?
Any ideas would be really appreciated.

  • Domain directory path for Monitor Agent on Linux?

If I'm installing Monitor (agent) on an OES2 Linux server, I am prompted for the path to a domain directory
But this server is not going to have any domains on it.
the docs are poor at best on this section (other than to follow the prompts)
I am assuming (since there's a "file browser" button) that if there's no domain on this server, that I cannot use a UNC path and must use a mount point to a server that has a domain?
And if the other server is on NSS, I will need ncpmount?

Oh - but you don't want to use your GWIA for alerts. Monitor has its own
SMTP mailer, so unless you HAVE to go through a relay host, monitor can
alert you regardless of whether the system is down. I send my alerts to the
    smtp address of my phone.

    Moving GroupWise to Linux?
    Moving GroupWise
Even better! Yes, we can send to the relay host and let it go wherever.
I was just thinking that let's say a regional POA/MTA is having problems, that the delivery address for the notification should be an " internal" GW account.
Obviously though, if the GWIA is having an issue we'd not know about it because it would try to deliver to the internal GW address and that has to go through the GWIA.
Although with diff. groups I will see if I can put the GWIA/MTA into a special group that gets notified to like the blackberry or something (like a text message).

  • Cannot uninstall "Microsoft Monitoring Agent" error 2203

    Hello
I am trying to uninstall the SCOM 2012 R2 "Microsoft Monitoring Agent" from a Windows x64 PC.
Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\50aa1.ipi cannot open database file. System error -2147024875
I receive the following error part way through the uninstall (which I did not receive when uninstalling the agent from other computers. I am logged in with Administrator Rights.
These Servers are not longer on the network and therefore not part of the domain or management group.
Can someone please assist with this error as bing does not return any relevant information for this error.

I resolved the issue, I added the PC back onto the Domain, then the Agent would uninstall no problem, odd but learn something every day

  • Wierd monitor compatibility problem

    Hi all,
Got a wierd monitor compatibility problem. G3 works fine on a sony 21" CRT.
Connected it to a Daytec 15" CRT which works fine with a windows 98 PC.
With the G3 I get the apple and the spinning up logo then the screen just goes blank.
Is this monitor PC only or something? It is an old monitor but I thought any monitor should work
    if the vga connector fits?

So you are using this directly plugged into the stock Display card in a Blue & White G3 with NO adapter?
The Mac is probably still set for a higher resolution that the SONY can do, and has not noticed the display has changed.
Video pros says that Video can be plugged and unplugged all day long with no bad effects. If your old display is still around, try setting it to 640 by 480, save changes, and swap the other one in "live" at that resolution.
    Other tricks:
Reset the PRAM. This will send you back to a default setting while booting up, but may change when the system becomes active.
Boot from a CD. This ignores the settings on your Hard drive, and boots to a very simple resolution like 640 by 480 to ensure that Most Macs can start up with it.

  • SNMP Monitoring Agent for OAM (COREid) - Share your experiences

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has successfully implemented the monitoring agent. I would like to hear how you implemented the agent and how you consume the traps as well as any reactive automation that you may have also implemented to respond to trouble conditions. I'm preparing to use the agent for monitoring our environment (have used other moniroting techniques to date) and I would like to hear from anyone who has been through this process and has helpful guidance for my implementation.
    Thanks!

    Alan,
yeah it does come with net-snmp but I was more likely asking if somebody actually tested it or made some experience with integration it into HP OVPI or eHealth.
I thought I ask before I test ... maybe it doesnt work well or another client is better ...

  • InterMedia Web Agent problems...

I have Oracle 8.1.5 and OAS 4.0.8 on an NT machine. I have installed interMedia Web Agent, having shut the OAS services down first, configured the application as described in the doc and restarted all services. I have one listener for OAS on port 90. When I try to access http://servername:90/intermedia/~admin I get a 'Page cannot be displayed' error. Why?
I have checked all the settings within OAS and they look fine. NT is running SP5. I can access http://servername:90/ fine.
    Any help gratefully received!
    Lee

The interMedia web agent is installed in the
OAS home and you can see the intermedia application and cartridge in the OAS admin page?
Have you checked the OAS wrb.log file? That is where errors should be displayed. If it is a web agent problem, check <windows_dir>wsclstch.err or log files in <OAS_HOME>/ord/web/logs.
What do they say about starting the agent?
    Test the agent with http://host:port/intermedia/~test

  • Microsoft Monitoring Agent (AdtAgent) could not be installed.

    Hi everyone,
on all of our servers where I install the Microsoft Monitoring Agent and the UR 4 I get this error in the Application EventLog:

    Event ID:      11923

Product: Microsoft Monitoring Agent -- Error 1923. Service '@C:\Windows\system32\AdtAgent.exe,-500' (AdtAgent) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.
Am I correct that this service is only needed in connection with Audit Collection Services?
We don't use ACS so can we ignore this error or is it possible that any functionality of SCOM (except ACS) will be missing?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ville

    Hi,
You may check operation manager event log, if there is no error message after upgrade, then this event can be ignored.

  • Client-Side Monitoring Agent

I have deployed scom 2012 r2, discovery my windows servers, and installed agent on servers. When I go to Monitoring and then Healthy state, I saw that Client-Side Monitoring Agent and some others show Not monitored. After some google, I know that maybe they
are not enabled by default. My question is that how I can find what monitors they are belong to?
EX: Where I can find "Client-Side Monitoring Agent" under Authoring --> Monitors? And then enable it from there.  Thanks.

It sounds like you are referring to Client-Side Monitoring for .net application performance monitoring. This is not enabled by default and you wouldn't want to enable it without reading up on the subject and trying it out on a test environment first. There
are many factors to consider, a few being; monitoring compatibility for a website, the potential for sensitive data getting into your SCOM databases, and monitored application stability.
You can find .net application performance monitoring by going to "authoring" in the managment console, and then "managment pack templates".

  • Microsoft Monitoring Agent Service on Management Servers - 2012R2

    Hi,
Is the Microsoft Monitoring Agent Service supposed to be running on Management Servers?
I can't remember if I have added an agent by accident, or if this is part of the install.
    Thx,
    John Bradshaw

When you install Management server, SCOM will automatic install Microsoft Monitoring Agent service. However, Microsoft Monitoring Agent service default installation path in Management server, c:\program files\Microsoft system Center 2012 R2\Operations
Manager\Server\health Service state, is different to ordinary agent machine which installation path is c:\program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent\Agent. Moreover, SCOM 2012 R2 uses Microsoft Monitoring Agent to collect and monitor server status and performance
whether they are SCOM agent or Management server.

  • Silently Monitoring Agent who are also Supervisors

    Hello,
I have setup agents so supervisors have the ability to monitor their calls. I have 4 users who are agents as well as supervisors. The supervisors can monitor agents who are strictly agents but are unable to monitor agents who are also supervisors. I had an agent make sure he was logged out of the supervisor desktop and logged into the agent desktop only. We made a call which he could answer but when a supervisor tried to monitor the call she received the error posted in the attachment. Troubleshooting thus far has been unsuccessful. Does anyone know if there are issues monitoring the calls of and agent who is also a supervisor? I've looked for documentation regarding this issue with no luck.
    Thanks,
    Ed

    Hello
Run c:\program files\cisco\desktop\bin\NICQ.exe when a call is active on the agent.
In the same directory, NICQ...txt file will be created.
Check and make sure all tests are passed.
Its the initial test to make sure CAD PC is receiving RTP audio stream from PC or not.
    Try this doc as well:
