GX520 hangs after establishing server connection

We are running ZFD 6.5 sp2 and trying to image new GX520's
There are 21 machines all exactley the same down to every last BIOS line,
DELL GX520.
I used the bootcd.iso from SP2
Set up a policy to install an image to any PC booting within a given IP
range.
Here is the issue:
I installed the boot loader on all twenty PC's
7 PC's took the image just fine
14 hung with no error after establishing server connection and the path
to the image.
Zimglog.xlm shows
- <WS DN="R3NWTS01.R3.usnrc">

When I try a manual download I get "no eligible partitions to recieve

Any thoughts?

  • Field Explorer is empty after establishing a connection to a SQL 2008 SP

I am trying to create a report using a SQL Server 2008 stored procedure as the source of data using an ADO connection.
The stored procedure is slightly odd, in that its building up the SQL as a string, Below is a snippet of the code to show what I mean. The reason for this is that I need to build up the WHERE clause dependign on user input.
         SELECT @var_query = 'SELECT  c_source,
            c_ccy,
            n_quantity,
           a_price,
           d_price,
           a_isd
                         FROM     ldsdbo.lds_testing_filter_data_vw WHERE'
         PRINT @var_query
         EXEC (@var_query)
This runs fine in SQL Server, but when I try and use it in Crystal, the Database Field list is empty.
Does anyone know whats going on, and how I can make this work?
    Thanks
    Nathan

Well... Now I just feel obligated to reply...
The key(s) to using an SP as your data source is to make sure that your SP does in fact return a single data set.
So... begin by testing it in SSMS. If the following works in SSMS, then it should also work in CR...
    EXEC usp_MyStoredProcedure 'ParamValue1', 'PramValue2'
... note: the above example is based on the premise that the SP name is "usp_MyStoredProcedure" and you are tryig two pass 'ParamValue1' & 'PramValue2' as values...
Obviously, you should use the actual SP name and any necessary test values if it has parameters.
Assuming that the SP executes in SSMS AND returns a result set, you should be good to go in CR... Just do as Don mentioned and make sure you are using the NC10 drivers.
If you are still getting stuck, remove the SP from the Database Expert and call the SP from a Command instead. It's easy to do as it allows you to use the exact syntax you used in SSMS. You'll just want to replace any hard coded values with CR parameters... (Just add the parameters to the parameter list of the command and reference them like this...
    EXEC usp_MyStoredProcedure '{?Parameter1}', '{?Parameter2}'

I am able to setup a Bluetooth partner ship between my Treo Pro and my laptop without much difficulty.  However when I try to establish a PAN connection via My Network Connections, I receive the following Windows error message:
The connection with the Bluetooth network device failed.  The device may already be connected to another computer, or it may need to be configured to accept connections from this computer.  Consult your device documentation for further information.
Any assistance with this matter would be much appreciated.

No, that is not what I am referring too.  I am way ahead of you there.  I can pair my phone to my computer without any difficulties.  My computer sees my phone and my phone sees my computer.  Here is the route I am referring too; control panel, bluetooth devices, single click on paired Treo Pro, properties button, new window second tab (services), blank screen and no ability to add services.  Very similar on the phone itself.  For instance, when paired with my Plantronics headset, which by the way is not on the list, but works perfectly, the services box lists "hands free".  When connected to the the computer, one of the services should be PAN connection.

  • After an update, Firefox is now unable to establish a connection with server.

After an update, attempting to use Firefox results in the following error:
    Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at en-us.start3.mozilla.com.
This error message appeared after uninstalling and re-installing Mozilla Firefox. Initially the the connection couldn't be made at google.com
Firefox will not open at all now.

In SQL server you can configure it how to communicate with clients (Shared Memory, Named Pipes, TCP/IP).
When the application is on the same computer with SQL server Local Named Pipes or Shared Memory are used.
When is on other computer TCP/IP or Named Pipes are used to communicate with the server.
Check these options and enable the appropriate.

  • *DAC Server connection "Error - can't establish connection to DAW Server"

    Hi there,
I'm experiencing trouble with the Oracle Data Warehouse Administration Console (DAC) server connection hanging in my Oracle BI Apps 7.9.6 install.
    Architecture*
    Applications Server - Machine A (Oracle Connection Services 10g R2 + Informatica 8.6.0 & HotFix 4.0 + DAC 10.1.3.4.1 services) = Linux RHEL 64-bit
Database Server - Machine B (Oracle BI Apps Data Warehouse OBAW + DAC Repository + Informatica Repository) = Linux RHEL 64-bit
    Client - Machine C (BI Apps 7.9.6 + Informatica 8.6.0 & HotFix 4.0 client + DAC 10.1.3.4.1 client) = Windows x86 32-bit)
    Issue*
After successfully following the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Installation Guide for Informatica PowerCenter Users Version 7.9.6 (E14217-01) documentation I get to section 4.13 Configuring the DAC Server and I cannot create a successful connection to the DAC Server from the Data Warehouse Administration Console on my client machine.
I can confirm that I have started the DAC services on the Linux server with the . ./startserver.sh command. The icon on the Data Warehouse Administration Console turns Orange (Idle), but when I double click the icon a message box appears with the title "Server Log" but seems to hang.
If I stop the DAC services on the Linux server with the . ./stopserver.sh command the Server Log message box closes and a new message box appears stating:
*"Error: can't establish connection to DAW Server!"*
I have tried using the IP address and the actual server name as defined in the Hosts file as the DAC Server Host in the DAC System Properties but I receive the same error message.
I can also confirm that I ran the serverSetupPrompt.sh shell script successto configure the connection between the DAC Server and the DAC Repository.
Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Gary.

    Hi Gary,
If you have the Orange icon then your client is connected to the DAC server. (If it's red then it's not, and if it's green it's connected and an execution plan is running).
If you have never run any DAC jobs (and if you're just doing the installation then you won't have I guess) then your log will be blank and you'll just get a blank log window.
Have you got any evidence that your DAC server isn't running other than the Log won't download properly?
Obviously if you stop the DAC server then you're going to get an error that the client can't connect to the server :-D
If I were you I'd continue with the installation guide, as it sounds like things are working as they should.
BTW don't forget to mark this and other responses to your posts as helpful/correct as appropriate :)

The system cannot find the file specified
I have tried from so many forms. This is so frustrating. Thank for everyone/anyone who wants to help. So this is what happened: I had to uninstall my previous sqlserver 2012(which worked great) for some reason, and I uninstalled everything from that download.
Then I installed the trial edition of sql server 2012 (64 Bit) and It wouldn't connect to the database. (Error mentioned above.) My local DB is COWBOYS. (COWBOYS is also my computer name.) After this, I have tried downloading sqlexpress and sqlserver 64bit
many times and cannot connect to my local DB.
How do I connect to my Local DB?
Also, I think this might help: (When I run sqlserve.exe, which I was able to find in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\LocalDB\Binn, I get an error: Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with(Error getting
instance ID from name). Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.
I would happily re install it, if it wasn't my 20th time.
I don't have any remote connections, I don't use username/password, only window authentication. I work mostly on visual studio, but without able to store /retrieve data, I don't know how to survive.
May be the solution is very simple, but I am too frustrated.
Some of the things I have tried:
From a command prompt, enter one of the following commands:
net start "SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER)" OR
net start "SQL Server Agent(instancename)"(for instance)
on my sql configuration, I cannot start anything because there is nothing there to start. I can post more details, if that would help. Also, some more details about the error:

Any one that can help me, I will be greatful. Thank you so much. p.s. please ask me anything if you have any questions.

It sounds like there are a couple things going on here.  First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance.  Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error.  If you get an error, post the error message your hitting.  If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect.  If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog.  Ex:  "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name.  However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format.  Ex:  COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install.  Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

  • "Unable to establish a connection between WebEx and the mail server."

    Hi,
I installed Cisco WebEx and integrated with our Microsoft exchange server.  It showed server "UP".  everything's came up and working fine after that and sudenlly i found this message "Unable to establish a connection with the mail server.  Please recheck settings."
I went into the Mail Server setup to edit settings and now, it shows Server Down.  Do I need to do something on the MS Exchange 2010 or from webex server ??
Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks a lot!

Every 180 seconds, CWMS verifies the connection to the SMTP server by establishing a connection on TCP port 25 (SMTP) and then sending the EHLO command followed by the QUIT command. This check is also performed once when logging into the admin web page or when browsing to System -> Servers (where the status of the mail server is displayed).
If  this sequence does not complete successfully, the warning “Unable to  establish a connection with the mail server. Please recheck settings.”  will show in a banner at the top of the CWMS admin pages.
You  can verify the connection to the SMTP server manually by using “telnet  25”.
If you have access to the CWMS unix shell be aware that CWMS does not come  with the telnet command installed.
As an alternative, you can use this 3-lines script:
    exec 3<>/dev/tcp/x.x.x.x/25
    echo -e "EHLO\r\nQUIT\r\n " >&3
    cat <&3
Replace x.x.x.x by the ip address or hostname of the SMTP server and save the script in a file, f.e.:
/* script saved in a file named ehlo */
    [root@dchriste-cwms-adm1 ~]# cat ./ehlo
    exec 3<>/dev/tcp/10.48.54.79/25
    echo -e "EHLO\r\nQUIT\r\n " >&3
    cat <&3
    Then, execute it:
    [root@dchriste-cwms-adm1 ~]# sh ./ehlo
The output should be similar to this:
    220 *******************************************************************************************************************
    250-confukdc.confuk.com Hello [10.48.52.110]
    250-TURN

    250-XEXCH50
    250 OK221 2.0.0 confukdc.confuk.com Service closing transmission channel
Also, you can use this tcpdump command to see the conversation (replace x.x.x.x by the SMTP server’s IP address or hostname):
tcpdump -vXs 0 host x.x.x.x and tcp port 25
If you have HA, it is not certain which admin VM talks to the smtp server, so best to check both.
If you don't have access to the CWMS unix shell, best to span the switch ports and run packet capture.

  • A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server.

    Dear all,
I know that this topic may be a bit old school; but it really make me mad as I tried all solutions i found and it still cant be resolved....please give a hand...
The situation is like this,my company divided different platform as a status of project, like DEV, SIT and UAT. I got a project that require me to upgrade an vs2003 project to vs2005. I upgraded it completely and
successfully, it works fine in development and UAT platform; EXCEPT, the SIT platform.
The situation is very strange that, once I move the source to SIT, it return the following error:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
but it never happen in either DEV or UAT platform and even do I copy the workable web.config from DEV or UAT platform to SIT, the error still here and unable to resolve it.
I search a lot in the internet by Google, but solution suggested are not suitable or fail in my case. Most answer suggest that "enable remote control", "check fire wall", "check server" etc......But as I can connect well the
DBServer in DEV and UAT properly, I dont think those are the cause(but still, I check them all, and all are enabled properly, except my firewall setting is OFF, so adding port is ignored).
After all the searching and testing, I believed and have reason to believe that, the cause is inside my web.config:
      <appSettings>
<!--   User application and configured property settings go here.-->
        <!--   Example: <add key="settingName" value="settingValue"/> -->

    </appSettings>
    </configuration>
I know such kind of setting is old school; But due to this program runs for few years from tons of ppl...I dont dare to modify it unless I am very sure they are the cause.....
May I ask if anyone cna give me some advice and help in this issue please? I already tried for weeks and turning mad....Please I really need some help...
    Many thanks.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server
is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 – Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

Now , i cannot access to my Central Admin Setting , but my site Collections works well....
i Rollback  all setting but  no Effect !!!!!
i execute iisreset but nothing !!!!
    what should i do?
please help me.. Thanks in Advanced
When i was checking EventViewer , i saw an Event log    :
The Forefront Identity Manager Service cannot connect to the SQL Database Server. The SQL Server could not be contacted. The connection failure may be due to a network failure, firewall configuration error, or other connection issue. Additionally,
the SQL Server connection information could be configured incorrectly. Verify that the SQL Server is reachable from the Forefront Identity Manager Service computer. Ensure that SQL Server is running, that the network connection is active, and that the firewall
is configured properly. Last, verify the connection information has been configured properly. This configuration is stored in the Windows Registry.
Is there any relation between this message And my Problem!!!???

    hi Mr Thuan
    Soldier
    i checked
some of your Solution like SQLService (Was OK) , Allow Remote connection (was OK & has check mark), Restart SqlService (Done Successfully),  Network Card Driver (my Connection is OK) before , but didnot check SQL
Service account & i will do Soon,
    but
i did not any changes on Firewall or IP ... i change IIS setting (through
     this
    Article ) ,
Do these settings have any effect on IP or  firewall ?
    thanks

  • Using oracle (services in manual) following message appears Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:1158.

when I use oracle 11 and have it set in automatic (in services) it operates properly. (after restart) When I have it in manual (in services) i get the message 'Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:1158.'
We use the computer for various instructors but only one uses Oracle. With oracle in auto it takes for ever to log in (2 mins or more), when it is in manual it takes 10 secs for log in.

    you mean the local.profile?
    i have the next values
    export ORACLE_BASE=/export/home/oracle
    export ORACLE_HOME=/export/home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
    export ORACLE_SID=XXX
