GX700 CMOS Settings Wrong

Hi
I have a gx700 but it doesn't work.
when I try to start it it shows me these errors:
CMOS Settings Wrong
CMOS Date/Time Not Set
Press F1 to Run Setup
Press F2 to continue with fail-safe setting
But the problem is neither F1 nor F2 works. When I press them nothing happens.
And I also tried to enter Setup by pressing DELETE before this error shows up. It does not enter Setup. It shows the same error like I have never pressed DELETE.
I wanted to take out CMOS battery but I couldn't find it. It is realy hidden
And tried to pull out the battery and waited for hours but nothing changed...
Any idea? And where is the CMOS battery :s (Maybe it wont help too but want to try to take it out)

  • CMOS Settings Wrong - NEED HELP FAST

I've had my MSI K8T Neo FSR Motherboard for about 3 weeks now. It booted up fine with windows xp and then all of the sudden on a boot up it brought up an american megatrends sign that said "CMOS Settings Wrong"   I thought it was just the battery and it was bad because of a bad engineering so i matched batteries and radioshack and bought a new one. Worked fine after resetting CMOS settings but after the turn of the date THE CMOS SETTINGS HAD TO BE RESET again and again, and everyday after this. Does anyone know my problem?
    System SPECS:
    MSI K8T Neo FSR Motherboard
    RAIDMAX Cobra w/420w psu
    ATi Radeon X800 PRO
    Artec 16x DVD ROM DRIVE
80 GB SATA Hard Drive (1)
    512 Kingston Value RAM
    512 Premium RAM
    Athlon 64 2800+ w/512k cache
    Can anyone help me?

    Hi
The rig won't run slower at DDR333, that does not control clock, that is done by northbrigde within the CPU. It will depend on the quality control at stickmakers, as to how the RAM performs. The AMD64 demands standards that most stick makers have not bothered with, but advertise their products with them.
You can try memtest86 and see if any errors are reported, if you get a lot of errors over 512MB then stick 2 is suspect, and vice versa, if you get errors run each on its own. You should get less errors at 333, and a more stable system. You can also raise the DDR volts in Volts/ Freq in bios, the box will go red when you reach max recommended volts, try it 1 setting under the red.
    Bios 1.9B2 is here

  • CMOS Settings wrong - Powers itself off

Help! My 875P (6758) Neo mainboard keeps crashing. The sequence of events is:
Power on - 1  beep then, MSI splash screen then briefly displays
    IDE bus master enabled
    Then double beep then displays:
    DEL F11 F12 F10 (menu)
    CMOS setiings wrong
    F1-Setup F2-Default values
then system powers off after a few seconds. System powers off immediately if I press any F-key no matter which F-key is pressed or whatever I do.
Have tried clearing CMOS with the jumper but problem remains.
    Is my mainboard stuffed?

I removed one of the disk drives (power lead) and managed to boot OK, however, the problem sems to have been triggered by installing a Creative 'Prodikeys' keyboard (ps2). Whenever I attempt to boot with this keyboard connected to the PS2 keyboard port, the same problem occurs (as described above). How can a simple ps2 keyboard device prevent the system from getting past POSTS? I have sent Creative a report of the problem.

  • After FLash, won't save CMOS settings, trys to boot from network

MS-6712 board, flashed BIOS, now 7/29/03 v1.9, with AMD XP 2500 Barton.
Win XP, plain old home computer on dialup.
I flashed BIOS, now it will not let me enter BIOS by pressing DEL key.
It boot to screen that says "Press to display network boot option
If you ignore, it says "Try network boot first, then local drives" and goes to a screen CMOS settings wrong. F1 to enter setup, F2 to load defaults"
If you SHift-Tab, it says press R for RPL, P for PXE, any key to load local drive.
No matter what you press, it comes to the CMOS Setting wrong screen.
I flashed BIOS, CTRL-HOME back to old BIOS - same message, so then and back to new one again, etc.  I did a FIXMBR and FIXBOOT in windows XP.  No luck. The problem is that even after setting up BIOS to boot from hard drive, etc, ad save changes and restart, it won't remember the settings.  The battery is also testing at proper volt.  I did just replace bad RAM after upgrading to AMD 2500, but it was fine before I flashed.  PLEASE HELP!!!!  By the way, I can understand technical instructions and PC terms (I think)

  • 790FX-GD70 - have to boot several times - CMOS Memory Wrong - 2E?

Well I just recently bought this mobo and have some problems already.
    My config ============
    - Phenom X4 955
    - 4GB GoodRam 1333MHz
    - Sapphire Radeon HD4890 Vapor-X
    - Intel SSD 80GB Gen2
    - Samsung H3EG 500GB
    - PSU BeQuiet! PurePower L7 530W
All power cables are connected to motherboard and the GPU (even both extra 12V).
    ========================
At first it worked fine, I installed Windows 7 without any problems, all of the programs etc.
The only thing I changed in BIOS is the CPU Fan speed - because I have a very loud AMD box fan I just set the desired temp. (60C) and set the lowest fan speed for 25% - that's all.
Then, on the next day I started the PC up and all I saw was a black screen - no graphic info on the monitor, all fans running and POST led showing 2E.
I turned it off and the next boot went fine. The PC was running fine and stable the wholeeee day, no problems whatsoever.
After two or three days the problem worsened - it now takes not one but several (probably around 10) reboots to make the PC running. At all times the POST-LED shows "2E". After it finally starts then I see the message CMOS Memory Wrong Hour and Date not set etc. After I set it up all works fine further on (I usually keep my PC running for 10 to 16 hours).
However, there's one other thing - AFTER I turn the PC off it starts again by itself! And it's again with an error! Now, that's sick...
My guess is that something is interfering with the CMOS mem or the chipset. A good indicator of that is the CPU fan - at normal boots I can hear its RPM going down just after the PC starts, way before it gets to initializing memory. With an error-start the fan works at full speed all the time.
    So, in short:
    1. I have to boot my PC several times before it starts correctly.
    2. I get the CMOS Memory Wrong message after a successful boot.
    3. When running the PC is stable, has no problems, shows no errors or signs of instability.
    4. When I turn it off (Windows -> Shut down) the computer starts again by itself - and with an error again (CPU fan is working on high RPM, screen is black etc.).
Any idea? I unplugged all small cords (Power LED, Power Switch, HDD etc.) and start the PC with a button on mobo - but it made no difference.

OK, it's not the PSU - I have just found what causes the problem.
I followed the trace left by my monitor and apparently my computer will not boot without the monitor turned on before.
I tried several times - every time my screen is off, the PC won't start. When it's on (before the PC itself) everything works fine.
I guess I have to wait for my new screen and check it out again. As I said - I use an old CRT Dell with VGA -> DVI adapter - and I believe it is the cause.
I noticed that even putting the adapter itself on the cable when the monitor is on, makes it react to it. Maybe there's some electric charge that goes through the card to the mobo? I don't know. Odd enough - this is the source of the problem - 95% sure
Anybody has any idea why it happens?

  • Airprint no longer working – router settings wrong?

Airprint no longer working – router settings wrong?  Network TP-Link TD-W8951ND router.   version 5.1, Firmware build 120522.  As far as I know the settings are factory defaults with two exceptions.  My ISP input various settings to reflect my proper internet connect configuration.  I have assigned one static port “100” to a printer not currently on the network. Auto DHCP now starts at “101”.  Epson Artisan 837 printer.  New, Bonjour service name EPSON3FC9CA (Artisan 837),   auto IP address (currently 192.168.1.103), firmware WB15D3 38.38 linked wirelessly not by Ethernet.  iPhone 4S Software 6.1.3 (10B329).   iPad 3 Software version 6.1.3 (10B329)   Windows Vista 32-bit laptop, linked wirelessly, auto IP address  Windows 7 64-bit desktop, linked via Ethernet, auto IP address  MagicJack Plus, linked via Ethernet, auto IP address   Installing Epson On June 6, 2013, using my laptop, installed it wirelessly on my network.  Updated firmware etc.  All worked well.  Same for the desktop.  Again all functioning as planned.  The installed printer name was Artisan 837 (Network)  When I tried to use the Airprint function on my iPhone it could not find any Airprint printers.  I downloaded and ran the Bonjour print services wizard.  This created a printer named EPSON3FC9CA (Artisan 837).  I could now print wirelessly as planned. Problem solved I thought.  As of June 6, 2013 all software and firmware is current.  On June 12 attempted to link my iPad to Airprint for the first time.  It could not find an Airprint printer.  I tried my iPhone and it could no longer find an Airprint printer. I tried numerous powerdowns, reboots, reinstalls etc. to no avail.  I can point Safari wirelessly to the printer IP address on both iPhone and iPad and see the printer’s “web page” to check ink level, settings etc.  I downloaded Epson iPrint to both iPhone and iPad and that software works as planned allowing wireless printing.  I tested the Epson on my older Linksys router  and my iPad found it as an Airprint printer!  Worked wirelessly as planned.  Conclusions The only thing that is not working as planned is Airprint functionality on my TP-Link network. I am thinking there is a setting on the TP-Link router that needs to be adjusted to keep the Bonjour established software path open and persistent.  From the time I first established the Airprint connection to the next time I tried to establish a connection was some 6 days.  Although the iPad and iPhone renew their network lease every 90 days, the other equipment lease runs for 3 days before renewal.  I don’t know if the IP address of the Epson changed on renewal.  (Even if it did, I would hope the discover functionality should follow to the new address.)  Over that 6 day period there were no software or firmware changes.  As far as I know the only environmental change would be related to IP addresses or something else at the router level severing the connection.   Before trying a static IP setting for the Epson (and I don’t know if that will work) are there any other router settings to check that will clear up this situation?  I am sending this to TP-Link, Epson, Apple, and my ISP in hopes that a solution can be found.

Thank you for your reply.  What I didn't mention was that I have spent days googling to find an solution.  I have tried most alternatives suggested to no avail.  My problem is quite technical and most probably has a very specific and simple solution related to my router (set ABC to 123XY).  All alternatives ended, "if this doesn't work contact the supplier".  So I have - Apple (here), Epson, TP-Link and my ISP.  When (if?) I find a solution I'll post it here for others to learn from.

"One of the benefits of Match, right?  Saving hard drive space."
I would not use iTunes Match as a backup. There are too many bugs and I don't think that's what they intended it to be anyway. The main advantage of using it is to make your music available on OTHER devices, not to replace the music on your original computer.

  • Cmos settings are lost when unplugged

Every time my computer is unplugged the cmos settings are gone when I restart. It's been like this since I got it 2 weeks ago. I thought flashing the bios with the latest version might help but it didn't. The battery voltage is 3.504V.

A weak battery can still have the correct voltage and still be bad due to not supplying the correct amount of current. There is another possible solution. Remove your battery jumper and put it back on again. You may have a bad connection. The same holds true for the battery clip. If those don't solve it then you may want to pop for a new battery.

  • CMOS Settings for KT3 Mainboard

    Hi there,
    Can anybody help me...
I have just upgraded my PC to an MSI KT3 motherboard, with a 2.2Ghz AMD AthlonXP+ processor (266FSB) and 1Gb of PC333/2700 DDR Ram...
The problem is that the system will only recognise my processor as a 1500 AthlonXP+ running at 1.35Ghz and only 512Mb of RAM...
Can somebody let me know the CMOS settings to get my system working to what it should be... I dont want to overclock, just to get it working...
I have tried changing the CPU FSB Clock to 133Mhz but then the system doesnt boot... Maybe there is something else I have to do which I dont know about...
    Many thanks,
    Tim

I dont think it the PSU. The power output for 3.3v & 5v is 200W and for 12v its 400W...
As far as I am aware this is not the problem...  The computer is EXACTLY the same as before except I have put in a different MB with different RAM...  The previous MB was a PC Chips board with SDRAM...
Is your problem caused by your PSU?

I built this system myself last Fall.  Operates well, generally, but occasionally, after I shutdown and attempt to restart, my BIOS settings change and my system loses my boot sequence.  It's a simple fix to go in and make the CMOS changes again, but, it's a pain in the butt to have to do this time after time.  How can I run down the problem and save myself the hassles.  Any fixes other than a battery change?  This was occurring prior to my flashing to the 3.5 ver of the BIOS.  Flash went flawlessly.

Per your posts, I have unplugged all USB hardware except my USB Mouse.  I reset to default CMOS settings and then made appropriate changes to my desired boot sequence.  My system clock is functioning just fine and I had replaced the battery in June to rule that variable out.  The last two times I've experienced the CMOS problem is after a Win XP auto-update and restart.  I don't know why this would have anythig to do with my CMOS settings.  Very perplexing !!

  • K8t neo fis2r- CMOS settings are wrong!

First I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to help me resolve my problem.  My current system specs are as follows:
    MSI k8t neo fis2r mobo
    AMD athlon 64 3200+ (clawhammer I believe)
2x 512 MB Corsair Xtreme XMS Memory
    Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb
    80gb Samsung HDD
    600W Xconnect PSU
After having problems with my computer not loading windows I downgraded my bios from v 2.2 to 1.9 because I heard that versions higher than 1.9 may have problems with my older clawhammer cpu core.  The bios flash worked in that I can now start up my computer if I reset CMOS and load default settings.  However when I load my computer this way my Core Center is displaying my Vcore at around 1.1v.  3.3v is at around 3.41, 5v is at around 5.1, 12v is at around 12.1v.  In the past I needed to manually set my Vcore under bios at 1.4v or 1.5v to get it to start, and when I started it that way Core Center correctly displayed the 1.4 or 1.5vcore and stated that my computer was running at 2000Mhz.  Now my computer is running at 1.1vcore and 800 MHz.  If I clear cmos and enter setup to try to change my vcore to 1.4 my computer will hang after the save and exit just as if I had restart my computer without clearing the CMOS.  I have tried changing the mobo battery, which did not do anything.  Its odd, if I choose to load default settings and continue, my computer will start up and is entirely stable.  If I choose to enter setup however and choose to load default settings and then save and exit, my computer will hang just as if I did not reset CMOS to begin with.
I really do not know what to do here.  I was thinking about trying something like this http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalCPUID/index-e.html to up my vcore after I get my computer started so that I can play my games without the low fps I am currently getting.  I know this fix would not get my computer to start up without resetting CMOS, but would it work as a temporary solution?
Does anyone have any ideas for what is wrong?  Thanks again in advance.

    Thats bad news for me!
Anyway, I found a program called RightMark CPU clock Utility that has enabled me to get my 2000 MHz out of my cpu by setting FID to 10.0x and VID to 1.550v
With these settings Rightmark is reporting an idle cpu temp of around 31 C, but when I get in a game like world of warcraft the temp will go all the way up to around 90 C, which I feel is incorrect.  Ive had my computer become very unstable in the past when the temp got near 65-70C.  It seems to be perfectly stable at the moment, even under the high loads of world of warcraft.  Do you have any thoughts on this?

  • ICM settings wrong after migration

I did a Consolidate Migration of iPrint from Netware 6.5 SP8 to OES11 SP2, in preparation of Transfer ID migration, as recommended by TID7004109. Out of 117 printers, 8 failed to migrate. This is not a very big deal, I could re-create them manually on the new print manager. These were the printers where the printer object name did not match agent name - sometime in the past I had renamed the printer agent to force re-install of printers on workstations.
The bigger problem is that iPrint Client Management Settings are totally wrong. I've done some spot checks, and there are lots of cases where container OU=DepartmentX,O=Company has ICM settings with printers that belong to DepartmentY and DepartmentZ. I've looked at the migration log (/var/opt/novell/migration/MyProject/log/iprint.log) but I can't find anything regarding migration of ICM settings in the log.
Also it seems that some printers have ACL entries missing. My first impression is that ACL entries that are groups and users migrated successfully, but those that are containers did not...
Looks like I'll have to go through all the settings and verify them manually, unless someone can recommend a better approach? Fortunately the new server is still in pre-migration state, so there is an option to re-do it from scratch, if only I knew what to do differently next time.
