i have vista x64 installed.  You are going to have to be more descriptive and clear.
Mike moved your post and gave it a topic; he didn't offer any advise on your issue.
4 GBs of RAM means you have added more memory.  Are you sure this memory is compatible?  Have you tested the stability of the upgrades with Memtest86+?  Does it work without the extra memory?

  • Satellite Pro A200 - Is there any way I can re-install Vista?

    Hi,
I bought an A200 a couple of years ago pre-installed with Vista Home Premium.
Recently I got a virus and had to re-install windows which I tried unsuccessfully from the recovery disks I had made from the Toshiba recovery programme. After several attempts I decided to install Ubuntu 9.1 instead, which I have been happy with, however certain features, such as no sound through HDMI, have not worked so I would like to re-install Vista.
I believe the install files for the pre-installed Vista are on a partition somewhere on my A200.
Is there any way I can re-install Vista?
    Thanks

    Hi Sched7,
There is no recovery partition on Toshiba notebooks. Only a folder with an image is stored on the second partition but as MisterX wrote, if this would be available its too late now since you installed Ubuntu
In your case I would try the recovery disk again. I noticed also a problem with the disk after I had a virus. I had to wipe the whole HDD first by using Microsoft disk. After this I tried the recovery disk again on a clean HDD and it successful!!!
In worst case you have to install Vista from a Microsoft disk. You can download all drivers and tools on the Toshiba website.

  • No Wireless or Ethernet Driver After Installing Vista Ultimate on New Mac

After installing Vista Ultimate 32 bit on my 17" 2.6 GHz MacBook Pro (486 gb hard drive, 101 gb bootcamp partition), (4 gb ram) The Vista Installation has no Driver Listed (or connectivity) for either the Apple Wireless or Ethernet drivers.
    Any thoughts?

Did you install the drivers from the computer's software install DVD?

  • Cannot install Vista Ultimate 64bits on Mac Pro 2008

    Hello,
I'm trying to install Vista Ultimate 64bits on my new Mac Pro (2008, 2x Quad Core, 3x 500GBHDD, 16 GB Ram), but Vista is unable to find a correct partition type.
The first thing I did was to install a 4th HD, and I constantly received an error 0x80004005 which seems to be too generic.
Then I tried to install it on the 3rd HD (Bay 2 is where my OS X startup disk is located btw) but here no way neither....Windows cannot find a valid partition.....
I tried to partition it manually in MBR...same problem....
    Then with BootCamp assistant...same problem...
I also tried to use Vista Business 64 SP1, same problem...
Do you have any idea ?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Hello,
Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately I'm still stuck...
    To resume the situation :
I put a brand new 250GB SATA in the bay 4.
I start Bootcamp Assistant and tell him that I want to use this new disk for Windows and then start Vista x64 install.
Vista sees 2 partitions on this new disk :
    Disk 3 Partition 1 : 200 MB (Primary)
    Disk 3 Partition 2 : 230 GB (Primary)
If I try to use the P2 for the install, I have to format it first. Once formatted, Vista says : This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.
If I try to use the 200 MB (just for fun..), then I also have to format it, but here I receive the error message 0x8000xxxx
    So clearly I'm lost...
Could it be related to the 16 GB RAM ? Too much for Vista ?? I don't believe as this is Vista x64...
    Thanks for your help, ideas..

  • Satellite A350-13D - Can I install Vista 64bit?

    Hi
(excuse me, I can't speak english very well, sorry if I write with faults)
3 days ago, I bought an Toshiba Satellite A350-13D. It has 4GB RAM, but Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit is installed. The computer can use only 3GB.
Can I install Vista Home Premium 64 Bit to use the totality of RAM (4GB)? Where can I download the driver for my computer?
    Thanks for your help :)
    Have a nice day

    Hi!
Of course you can I install Windows Vista 64bit Why not? What do you think?
On the Toshiba website I can find all drivers for Vista 64bit on Satellite A350 so it should all working properly with Vista 64. Check it yourself:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
But note there are two different BIOS versions available One for 32bit and one for 64bit. After installing Vista 64bit you must update the BIOS too.

  • GX720 problems after upgrading to Vista Ultimate (SOLVED)

    Hello.
I have just upgraded my GX720 from Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate in order to be able to connect to our domain at work.
The upgrade went without trouble, but I have run in to a small problem with the touch buttons above the keyboard.
The media controllers, and on/off buttons for webcam, bluetooth and W-lan works with out problems, but the Eco and Turbo-button stopped working.
I'm guessing there is some part of the software/drivers from the original installation that went haywire after the upgrade and needs reinstalling, but I have no clue as to what to reinstall.
Any help would make me very happy
As far as system specs I have done no upgrades to bios or firmware since delivery in june but I'm unsure as to the versions running, the only thing I have done is upgrade the drivers to the Wlan as far as I can remember.
I can also add that I tried to do a EC-reset, and a reinstallation of the SCM with no change. Trying to start the SCM manually with the MGSysCtrl.exe only results in a program crash (The program has stopped working).
    Kind regards
    Mikael

    I would say, remove SCM.
    Reboot
Goto program-files or whatever the directory is called in Vista, delete the MSI SCM folder
    Reboot
Run http://www.ccleaner.com/download (beware of the install options or you get a toolbar for free  )
Run cleaning and registry cleaning (until there are no errors left!)
    Reboot
Download and reinstall SCM for your machine.
I hope this works, should be. Else use an older version of SCM, like the one that came with your machine.
    Good luck.

I need help in installing Windows Vista Ultimate in my A200-13O.
My current operating system is Windows Vista Basic and I want to upgrade it to Windows Vista Ultimate.
Based on the driver download section I need the following drivers to be installed.
    1 Windows Vista RTM

    3 Intel 945GM Display Driver
    or
    3 nVIDIA G72MV-A3/NB7P-GS Display Driver
    4 Realtek ALC861D Audio Driver
    5 Realtek 10/100 8101E/ Gigabit 8111B LAN Driver
6 Synaptics Touch Pad Driver (with LuxPad)
    7 ALPS Touch Pad Driver
8 TI Multiple Digital Media Card Reader
    9 TOSHIBA Software Modem
10 Intel Golan Wireless LAN Driver
11 Intel Kedron Wireless LAN Driver
    12 Atheros Wireless LAN Driver
    13 Chicony Camera Software
14 Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba
    15 Bluetooth Monitor
    16 TOSHIBA Value Added Package
17 TOSHIBA Flash Cards Support Utility
    18 TOSHIBA Hardware Setup Utility
    19 TOSHIBA Supervisor Password
    20 TOSHIBA SD Memory Utilities

    23 TOSHIBA Speech System
24 TOSHIBA Extended Tiles for Windows Mobility Center V1.01
    25 TOSHIBA Fingerprint Utility V5.6.0.3221
I have already downloaded most of them but I can't find some like [2] Intel ICH7M Chipset Utility, [11] Intel Kedron Wireless LAN Driver, [23] TOSHIBA Speech System. Also some of the drivers are not installing properly.
Can you please help me out.

The chipset driver you can get on the Intel webiste
    www.intel.com
But I think the driver could also be in the display driver because its the same chip.
The WLAN driver I have found on the Toshiba website so download and install it.
The speech system could be integrated in the sound driver.
But download and install all drivers and the system will work.

  • Satellite A60: Can I install Vista and where to find drivers

    Hi,
    I have a SATELLITE A60: pentium 4 HT 3Ghz, 512MB RAM, HDD 40GB, LAN/WAN/WIDI, irda,
I want to know if I could install windows Vista ultimate edition, and where can I find the appropiate drivers of devices for Windows Vista,
    thanks

    Hi
Of course you can install the Vista on your notebook. I have installed the Vista on my old A50 and it works. Ok, Im not able to use the additional features like Aero for example but the OS runs.
The driver situation is a little bit tricky simply said, there are no Vista drivers published I have found some singles Vista drivers on some device manufacturers sites but at this time there are no Toshiba drivers for this notebook.
PS: on the Toshiba Canada website I have found single drivers for some newer Toshiba notebook:

  • Losing the will - Bay 2 1TB Hard Drive can't install Vista AT ALL!

I have a new Mac Pro and installed a Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB hard drive in bay 2, solely for a Vista install (for editing AVCHD in Sony Vegas) but I cannot under any circumstances, install Vista on any partition, be it the full, halved, any combination at all - you name it, I can't install.
I get as far as the partition screen in Vista and his is where things slip up - I have had the Boot Camp partition (only on a split, never on the single partition) and it just will not let me install. Not under any circumstance.
This is appalling, I have been onto Apple who have escelated it to one of their engineers, he did not have a clue. Way to go.
So, I was wondering if anybody had any ideas or has experienced this?
BTW, I have not tried to install to the OS hard drive yet - don't really want to mess with it.
    TIA

There are a number of things you can do, but in every case, you have to delete any FAT partition, create NTFS before you can install. In some cases, a restart from Vista DVD is required before it proceeds.
In one instance, I had to remove the OS X drive, but that may be why some jump to wrong conclusion about drive bays making a difference - they don't.
You got it installed so you must have been at least somewhat successful.
I use Disk Utility to create and format the drive 99% of the time. If you are going to dedicate a drive to Vista, even multiple FAT/NTFS partitions, I would set the partition table (Partition: Options.... in Disk Utility) to Master Boot Record rather than GUID.
Let Windows do all the updates through multiple reboots before you insert the Leopard DVD to add Apple setup.exe services often called "BootCamp drivers."
BootCamp Assistant is unnecessary and I don't think well designed even yet for use on Mac Pro UNLESS you need to install Windows on the same drive as OS X, such as you find on iMac/MacBook series.
Vista DVDs are now available with SP1 already, which is what I would buy today if I was buying Vista.
say "had" because a couple of days down the line when I tried to boot into Vista, I was met with a black screen and flashing cursor.
    Any hardware changes? installed drivers?
When you say you looked far and wide... I have been active here and on Mac Pro discussion and Vista issue.

  • Satellite L350 - Can't install Vista and how can I backup my data?

    Hi to all
I have a Satellite L350 and recently I've installed Vista Home Premium in a different language (the OEM Vista was in English) hoping I could activate it with the OEM key, but I didn't succeed.
When I wanted to re-install the OEM Vista from WinRE I realized I can't access it and then I had a "brilliant" idea that if format the C partition with the Acronis Disc Director it would boot from WinRE. It didn't.
Fortunately Ive burned the recovery discs before. The only problem is that the recovery disc formats the entire HDD and I have data on the second partition I've would like to retrieve.
I tried to install again the retail Vista to backup the data from the second partition (yes, I'm an idiot, I didn't do it before) but it stops after the first reboot. I get a black screen with a low dash blinking.
I really need that data, please help!

    Hi!
I can tell you why you cant install a retail version of Vista by using the product key. This is pretty easy because the key on the bottom side on the notebook belongs to the preinstalled OEM version and cant be used by a retail version.
However, I think the best way to backup your data would be that you put the HDD in an external HDD case and then you can backup your data on another PC or notebook.
Such external HDD cases are not expensive but very useful.
    Bye

  • Can I install vista on mac osx lion?

Don't really want to fork out for windows 7 as I have vista...

If you had Snow Leopard, or have it, you can.
Boot Camp Assistant with Lion has Windows 7 drivers, but if you have 10.6 DVD of OS X that has Vista compatible.
If you havce a 2011 Mac, probably not.
I can see putting code in Boot Camp Assistant 4.01 that checks and says "sorry."
I can't see the partition table and MBR protective layer in the GPT doing so though.
You can still run XP and Vista if they were present previously. I would assume that they actually can be installed. You have to be able to boot from their respective CD and DVDs.
The 2011's of course have all new processor socket, Sandy Bridge w/ Thunderbolt and outside what a 3-10 yr old OS lke even XP SP3 would support without all new mainboard chipset drivers.

    Boot Camp 4.0 System Requirements

So while Lion doesn't have new upgraded drivers for Vista, that should not stop someone that has 10.6.

  • Can´t install Vista SP1 on T61

    dear all
i tried every trick i found in several internet forums regarding problems to install Vista SP1 on a T61 with failure message 0x800F0826. No chance to install.
Can anybody advise how I can be successful ?
    Thx in advance
    Tom

    Hi!
Could you tell us whether it's a clean install of Vista or are you running a Lenovo pre-load? Also, are all your drivers updated? From my research there are two major culprits that can prevent an upgrade to Vista SP1 (either stand-alone or via Windows Update):
    1) fingerprint reader driver
    2) X3100 Intel graphics driver
However, the error you mention is known to Microsoft but they offer little in terms of a solution for this issue. Here's their explanation:

  • Will Be Re-Installing VISTA Ultimate

My relatively new Dell VISTA computer is having problems and I will be re-installing the operating system which will remove all my programs and files. I'm backing-up the "My Music" folder, however I would like to find the folder holding the music soley residing in the iTunes music directory. Those selections also reside on my iTouch. Can I import only those iTouch tracks and related album artwork back to the new iTunes directory after re-installing VISTA and iTunes?
I can't seem to find the iTunes music directory on my hard-drive. If that is not possible, because iTunes only utilizes the allowaqble tracks in "My Music", is there a way to reverse sync music tracks/artwork from my iTouch to the iTunes msic directory?

Depending on how iTunes is setup for you, the iTunes music is stored in the itunes folder in the my music folder. Backup the ENTIRE itunes folder the deathorize iTunes before reinstalling windows. Deauthorize before hand to keep from using up one of the authorizations.

    hello!

I need to install Vista business.
    How can i do that?
    Do i need to format?
Then how can i install back all the utilities and drivers that it came with?
Will i have problems with my laptop if i do that?

    Hi
The Vista installation is not tricky.
Just put the Vista disk into the ODD and then boot from the disk.
    The installation will start automatically.
But this will format your HDD and you will lose your installed Win XP and other files.
    > how can i install back all the utilities and drivers that it came with?
I assume youve got a Toshiba recovery disk.
If you want to get back the OS installed by Toshiba then you should use the Toshiba recovery disk for recovering.
PS: what Qosmio F do you have exactly? I ask it because F 108 is not known to me
