Gym Equipment & Nike+

Hello,
I am currently using an iPhone 4 updates to the latest iOS 6 and iTunes 11 fully udpated on OS X Moutain Lion. The equipment at my Gym supports Nike+ and whenever I complete a workout I get a message on both my iPhone and the gym equipment saying that the workout data has been sucesfully saved on my iPhone and is ready to be uploaded to the Nike+ website.  However I can't seem to get it onto the site. Nike+ is turned on in the settings menu and there is an option at the bottom of the menu to Submit the data to nike+ however when I press this it will take me to the Nike+ website, I will sign in and then nothing more will happen.
So next time I went to the gym I plugged my iPhone in again and completed the workouts, go the confirmation message etc. then came home and connected it to iTunes. i got no message asking if I want to automatically send workout data to Nike+ and I can't for the life of me see a Nike+ tab from within the Phone menu on itunes. I can't see any way to link my iPhone to my Nike+ account.
Has anybody previously got this working and can point out what i'm missing as I'd love to get this setup so I can compare workouts etc.
Thanks in advance.

Yours is the first post I have seen with that problem. Could be a compatibility problem. Have you contacted Matrix and Cybex??

  • Which old iPod with video works on Star Trac gym equipment?

    I have a 4th gen U2 iPod (no video) and a 6th gen iPod Classic. My gym has Star Trac equipment with built in iPod docks for video to TV that ONLY have the 30-pin connectors(no composite inputs). Can someone please advise as to which of the older iPods would work so I can watch my video at the gym? Will the 30GB 5th gen, or 30GB 5th gen U2 iPod work? Thanks!

    Based on this:
    http://www.startracusa.com/ps-107-7-e-ubi-upright-bike.aspx
    I would guess that it would work with most any ipod, with the exception of ipod touch and iphone.
    Take one of your ipods and plug it in and see what happens.

  • Using the Kit with Gym Equipment

    I love to run, but am unable to due to a back injury. I can however use an elliptical and treadmill for light jogging as therapy.
    So my question is, has anyone tried the Nike Plus kit with a treadmill or an elliptical?

    This is for the curious but impatient.... (from the link above)
    . I contacted Nike about the shoes and if it would work with other things such as an Elliptical machine, sadly no. I really can't imagine that it is an "impact" sensor. That would blow out extremely fast for an avid runner. It has to be something else.
    Anyway here is their response:
    Thank you for contacting Nike regarding our Nike + iPod Sport Kit.
    The Nike + iPod Sport Kit will work for both walking and running. Unfortunately, this will not work with elliptical machines or for other sports at this time. We will forward your interest in this product to the proper department. Hopefully, Nike will come out with a compatible product in future seasons.
    Please check out our http://www.nikeplus.com website for updates and more information on Nike+ ready products.
    Thank you again for contacting Nike+.

  • Nike Plus with 3gs in gym

    Wondering if anyone is experiencing this problem.....
    I have Nike plus with iphone 3gs. It works flawlessly at home on the treadmill, as soon as I go to the gym, my phone will not find the sensor. This has been tested in 3 different gyms and every time I walk into a gym it doesn't work. It will work as soon as I get home. I can't imagine that gym equipment would be causing interference. Could it be other sensors in the gym interfering? I cant imagine that the case either because nothing is coming up when I google this problem. If the sensors interfere with each other in a gym environment there would be a ton of people posting this problem im sure.

    Now I would 100% agree with that, but im refusing to allow myself to believe that. Theres gotta be a ton of these in the gym, wouldnt everyone be experiencing this problem? Not one single post anywhere that I can find where someone speaks of an issue with their 3gs in the gym. I find that odd. And I am in a place where probably 75% of Nike Plus Buyers are.... A Gym. Just find it nuts that there would be interference problems with other sensors, I would imagine that would have been thought of when developing the producr.

  • My hyperlinks have gone awry

    Help, my hyperlinks have done their own thing. I want all my hyperlinks to be blue as a:link. I defined my links in my external style sheet to be blue; however, when I visted my page in chrome or on my mobile phone some of my links are blue and the rest are purple. In chrome on the desktop, the "home" link in the navigation is blue and the rest of the links in the navigation are purple lol. This looks terrible to me and I'm sure others? How can I force each link to be blue, can I add a bit of code to the <a href ....> tad at every link to force each one blue? I have attached my source code and my external style sheet below. Please help me get this fixed. I've had this problem in previous designs as well. I know dreamweaver can be  buggy but there is usually a way around using the code. Thanks to all who help:

That's a total weight loss of incredible <span class="hightlighter">90 pounds!</span> In addition, Lori's genes were tainted with diabetes and obesity  throughout her family lineage. <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">many delicious recipes to sustain me. I eat an apple a day (along with a wide variety of other fruits) and have found that I actually crave the apple, I went to the fridge yesterday and found no apples in the fruit drawer, so I jumped in my car and headed straight for the local fruit stand to replenish my stock. ( like a smoker does for cigarettes) It&rsquo;s nice to know the many benefits I am getting with something I&rsquo;ve come to really enjoy!</p>
    <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;"> I have 5 pounds to go to accomplish my weight goal….once there, I may set a new one…just for fun!

      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Hi Mike
    I just thought you might be interested on an update…
    I loved the 2-week phase diet so much that I had my 16-year-old daughter run through it once school let out. In 2 weeks, she dropped 24 pounds (including a significant amount of bloating around her midsection) and is under 200 pounds for the first time in years. She now has a waistline. Even more significantly, when she first started, she complained that the food was tasteless. That disappeared within a couple of days and my junk food-loving teen was able to appreciate the taste of fresh produce again. All the chemicals she was pumping into her body had so significantly altered her taste buds that she couldn&rsquo;t even taste real food until she&rsquo;d been able to cleanse her palate for a couple of days. Today was her first day off the meat-free diet and she really wanted a piece of marzipan (her favorite treat) and a bit of naan. Both repelled her when she tried to eat them. She complained that they tasted like chemicals! In fact, she ran to the fridge and piled a bunch of fresh veggies on plate to drown the awful taste of what used to be some of her favorite comfort foods.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Here&rsquo;s the best part…she&rsquo;d suffered from debilitating migraines on a DAILY basis. They were so bad that she missed a significant amount of school over the past few years. She has not had a migraine since the second day of the meat-free diet.
        As for me, I&rsquo;ve noticed significant changes too. I used to have to take 3 pain relief pills to even begin to combat the headaches I&rsquo;d get from working at my computer. Now, even a half dose (1 Advil) will do the trick if I even need it. But most of all, I appreciate the closer bond this process has forged between me and my daughter. Although we&rsquo;ve always been extremely close, she resented my being a personal trainer and was loathe to follow any of my professional advice. That was the one area where we could never see eye-to-eye. But between going through this nutritional change and the talking we did on our hour-long daily walks together, she&rsquo;s found a new interest in living a healthy lifestyle. As a trainer, I am inspired by the benefits of your program. As a parent, I&rsquo;ll be forever grateful to you because Fat Loss Factor is showing my daughter that she can, indeed, succeed at making positive changes to her body and her health that will last a lifetime!</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Now, we&rsquo;re really eager to start exercising together. (I&rsquo;m taking your advice and skipping the lemonade detox, and I&rsquo;m reluctant to have my daughter do it considering her age and health history)
        Thanks again! You&rsquo;re a true guru in my book!</p>

      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">LOL Michael, </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I actually have hypothyroidism and take medicine everyday but do not use it as an excuse for being overweight. I am overweight because I made bad decisions about food and did not exercise properly. </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Since starting your program I feel better and have gone down one size in clothing. Sure, there were a few modifications to ease into these changes. After all I am in my late 50s and have been out of shape for a long time. There has been a little cheating but not much. I am sticking with this and will tighten the reins more and more as time goes by.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">By saying that I FEEL better means exactly that. I get better sleep. My joints more freer. I breath easier without so much abdominal pressure pushing up on my diaphram. It never occured to me flushing my system would make me feel so great. This ha such a positive effect on my attitude also.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I recently tried the Flat Belly Diet. It had me eating every 4 hours and a MUFA with each meal. Yes there are 'good' fats but MUFAs are still fats. I was eating twice as much foods as before and about 10 times for fat then before. I gained weight and was demoralized. </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I watched your video many times over a period of several months before finally deciding to try your program. Within a week I noticed a tremendous difference. Flushing out the toxins from my body has made me convinced you have me going in the right direction. </p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">I am slowly trimming up. My whole attitude has changed. I FEEL better and am not starving myself or obessing over food. my appetite has decreased. It's that simple.</p>
      <p style="text-align: center; font-family: 'Myriad Pro'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 19px;">Thank you for helping me change for the better. </p>

    Thanks so much, as above you can see I defined a:link {color: blue;}

    In CSS, there are five states for links
    a:link
    a:visited
    a:hover
    a:active
    a:focus
    a:link (=unvisited, or never clicked)
    a:visited (=clicked at least once)
    a:visited is purple in most browsers by default.
    Thus, you need to define a:visited in your CSS and it should come after a:link (otherwise you'll never see it)
    One solution would be:
    a:link, a:visited {
              color: #00F;
    but bear in mind that visitors find it handy if a:visited is a different color to a:link so they know which links they've already clicked on.
    a:link {
              color: #00F;
    a:visIted {
              color: #SOME OTHER COLOR TO A:LINK;
    a:hover {
              color: #F00;

  • Lack of Contrast in Photos with Color Proof ON

    Hello, I never really worked with digital images inside Illustrator, so now that i have to prepare one for printing, I'm struggling with the following problem:
    All colors in CMYK;
    Document Color Mode - CMYK;
    and here we see that Color Proof results in significant lack of contrast:
    I tried to convert the photo between CMYK and RGB - results are the same.
    The strangest thing is that Color Proof in Photoshop (with same profiles) doesn't show this problem; only Illustrator does.
    I also tried to convert the whole work into RGB, and even though Color Proof worked fine, printed image was still dusky.
    What am i doing wrong?
    Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Maximus

    What am i doing wrong?
    Basically, harboring unrealistic expectations when looking at a glowing RGB additive monitor or composite desktop printer to "proof" subtractive process color. Approximation is all you are going to get. It's pretty dang good approximation these days, but true accuracy is a pipedream. Monitors glow. Ink on paper doesn't. Monitors don't have every tiny dot of color surrounded by color diluting white. Ink-on-paper does.
    And your eyes constantly adjust when viewing either. So even if you achieve colorimetric accuracy, that doesn't mean you achieve pleasing color. What you're looking for is an entirely different thing.
    ...huge lack of contrast...
    But increase in detail. Look at your two images in post number 4. Look closely. Note the additional detail in the shadow regions (the gym equipment) of the version on the right. That difference is what the "preview" is effectively trying to simulate.
    As a matter of course, any colorimetric conversion from RGB to CMYK is going to tend to "dull" (desaturate) and "flatten" (lower contrast). The preview is actually doing a decent job of simulating that. That's what it's supposed to do. (But it's still just an approximation, because you're still  converting it back to RGB in order to display it on your monitor.)
    Don't think of the preivew as a look at the unavoidable end of how "accurately" the process is going to retain the "good color" of your image. Think of it as a depiction of how the limitations of the process will affect your image as it currently is; think of it as an invaluable clue of what you might need to do to the image toward the goal of achieving a better final reproduction.
    I do realize that in perfect world i could simply ask printing office for their printer's profile and make adjustments based on that profile...
    And all you would accomplish by that is a measure of device calibration, not of what your image needs, which is color correction.
    All the painstaking "color management" (calibration), and tedious conversion profiles, etc., etc. in the world don't know didly about what's important in any given image.
    You think the left image in post 4 is "better" because the contrast is greater in the model. But calibration software thinks that image is "worse" because it is less "accurate" in that it contains fewer discrete colors than the process can deliver overall.
    (By the way, your mentioning of switching between color modes is a bit unnerving. I hope you're not switching between RGB and CMYK repeatedly in willy-nilly, back-and-forth fashion. If you are, you are irreparably degrading your color as you go.)
    Everything in preparing images for CMYK offset repro is a balancing act. One balancing act is that which exists between contrast and detail. Gains in one require sacrifices in the other. Calibration software can't do that for you. It's a value judgement call; and it's different for every image.
    So you learn to put the contrast where you need it within the image. You do this by adjusting curves in your raster imaging program. That, in a nutshell, is what your image needs in order for the colorimetric conversion to CMYK to retain some of the contrast and saturation you want to retain in the right half of the image.
    ....but local companies are far from being perfect and most of the time they don't even know how their printers work...anyway, it's a really sad story.
    Just as sad as the even more common story of prima donna designers who want to sweat blood over their erudite artistic sensitivity to ill-defined "good color" and blame printers for failing to maintain it through hair-splitting colorimetric "accuracy," because they think it beneath them (or too painful) to roll up their sleeves and buckle down to learning practical color repro theory. (Not beating you up here; we've all been guilty of this at some point.)
    ...it became principle for me to understand why this is happening.
    Yes.  If you expect to produce truly "good" color, it's up to you to understand the principles and processes involved (and their limitations) in order to intelligently tweak those limitations to advantage. It doesn't happen overnight. It's not something you achieve in one image and thereafter have a formulaic solution for every image thereafter. It cones with study, continual practice, and ongoing experience. It's not a one-size-fits-all something which someone can step you through with a bunch of specific settings in an online forum thread.
    As a good start: Acquire a copy of Professional Photoshop by Dan Margulis. Any edition will do. (There were five or six--get as many as you can find.) Read it. Read it again. And again. Then keep it as an onshelf reference. And use the principles of color correction (as opposed to mere color calibration) it teaches in every image you prepare for offset printing. You'll get better at it as you go, but you'll never achieve a single set of adjustments or settings that work for every image.

  • Multiple nano problems

    I seem to have a knack for killing my ipod nanos. I broke my first one after two months when I accidentally pulled the headphones out repeatedly (I got them caught on gym equipment) and it started pausing on its own. I replaced it, and within three weeks of having the replacement it broke too.
    My current problem is with that same replacement nano (4GB). It no longer holds its battery charge, and when I try to connect it to my computer's USB port (I'm running Windows XP) it gives me a 'this device has malfunctioned and Windows cannot detect it' message. It sometimes also tells me that I have the wrong type of USB port, but I know that my port is a 2.0, so I don't think that's the problem. It didn't always do this, but I plugged it in one day and have had problems since.
    I also have problems with my iTunes software, and I'm thinking of reinstalling it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what course of action I should take with the ipod? I'm not sure I want to replace it only to have it break again in another three weeks, but it was $300.

  • Any iPod Expert Wanna Help a Person Who Has not Idea Where to Stat.

    I was thinking of the iPod Classic but somebody told me that if I use it to exercise you will hear kips, jumps, etc. from the moving parts. that as my first choice because it appeared to have the minimal belles and whistles. So, if that is the truth, anybody recommend a good little iPod that is easy to use (I broke my first 2 when they first came out and I never went back...UNTIL, NOW! Apparently I installed the software when it did not need to be installed.
    Also, I think earphones are critical as far as the quality of the sound. I am NOT a BOSE fan, so if anybody has a recommendation on a good or great recommendation of earphones that cold be used exercising, I would appreciate it.
    finally, any pointers. I am not sure I would even know how to get it hooked up to my computer to get the music on the thing. s it possible to put CDs on it or do I have to get those on iTunes first and than on the iPod?
    thanks for any help I get, especially some help is deciding what model to get. I am not into fancy colors, will not use the video but I guess mot of them have this now, but sound quality I am a fanatic about. Anything that will enhance the sound quality would be a great help.
    Again, in advance, I thank you.

    cd => itunes => ipod
    the ipod gets it's must from itunes. So if you have a cd, you would open itunes, insert the cd. at witch point itunes would ask if you want the music imported. After that, if you plug the ipod in. itunes will ask to pair the ipod with the computer and sync. if you click apply the music in itunes is put on the ipod.
    You can download itunes here. http://www.apple.com/itunes/
    Every ipod has strengths. the classic is really good for holding copiously large amounts of music. If your have a huge cd collection, because the ipod classic can hold about 3,333 CDs. If you have this much , and want it all on the go, then this is the right ipod for you.
    But if you don't have a super large collection of music. say under 333 CDs, Your paying allot for storage your not going to use. And for sports, it's kind of large. Not to mention the ipod is heavy.
    It has about 36 hours of music play back per charge.
    If you want simple. the shuffle is great. It will hold about 41 cds. It's so light weight, you'll probable not even notice that it's there, even if your running. The only down side is that it's really simple to use. It dose not have wheel. it just has a few buttons. pause/play/next/previous and volume control. This is my favorite ipod for sports.
    It has about 6 hours of music play back per charge. that's good enough for a long run or a couple trips to the gym.
    For sports, the nano is also a great option. It's like the ipod classic, with that simple interface. the larger size can hold about 333 CDs. That's allot of hours of music. It also has a radio, witch can be great if your gym has tv that require a radio to listen in.
    Plus because it's small, it'll be great for running around. Sure it has a camera, but you don't have to use that, and you can always go with simple silver.
    It has about 24 hours of music play back per charge. Witch is more then enough for a week at the gym.
    It's also compatible with nike+. witch means with the right shoes, you could track runs/walks.
    To learn more i would recommend the compare page http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/ click on any ipod, and then click on the compare button.
    As for ear phones. I know from my own experiences earphones take allot of abuse. Especially while running or the gym. the nike ear phones hold up well, and if they fail, they're only like 24 dollars for a new set. Most of the nike headset use ether wrap around the ear or head to keep from falling out. Witch will work great with a nano or classic.
    Personally I like in ear headphones. They do take a bit to get use to, but ones you do, they have better sound. Because they're in ear, they do a great job of blocking out wind. Say if you live near the beach, or a gym, or work some place noisy. Sony makes a cheap set.
    I like the Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote. It has great sound, because it has tweeters and base. The in ear headphones stay in my ears when I rock climb, roller-blad, cycle, run, even upside down.
    The built in volume/pause/play/next controls means it works with the shuffle, nano.

  • Best exercise app for Macbook

    I love the workout app I have on my iPad2, but cannot find anything similar in the Macbook store. Does anyone know of any good workout/fitness apps for Macbook? I do not plan to use home gym equipment. Thanks!

    Although you should always be cautious about opening attachments, even from people you know (e-mail accounts get hacked and used to send spam all the time), it's very unlikely that this has resulted in you being infected with anything. What was the attachment? What application did it open with?
    When you say that your Mac is unable to download anti-virus apps, what does that mean? How is it failing? Are you able to download other apps just fine? What anti-virus apps have you tried to download?

  • Nike+ ipod gym

    Hi there
    I have been using the nike+ for a few weeks now. Obviously when I walk, it records my workout, but when I am at the gym using the elliptical, which has a ipod/nike+ port, it doesnt send to my ipod (touch) nor to the nike+ site.
    When I hook the ipod into the machine, the equipment recognizes it, and when I am finished, the equipment says it successfully logged it into my ipod, but when I check after my workout, it is not recorded into my history and its not uploaded onto nike+.
    Now to the point. I have been reading up and down and far and wide across the web about this issue. Some say they are able to upload and etc without any problem and some say that they arn't able to upload, like myself.
    Does the equipment at the gym need an internet connection to record the data or is it just transferred onto the ipod and then syched afterwards?
    Either way, does anyone know why the equipment data does not transfer onto the ipod/nike+ website?
    Would greatly appreciate comments, suggestions, anything.
    Thank you!

    It's a 4th generation.  After doing some research, and contacting nike+, I found the data is not recorded if the gym software needs to be updated or there is a problem with the connection.  The exclamation mark means there is a problem recognizing the ipod so data is not recorded.  HTH if anyone else comes across the same issue.

  • Experience with Nike+ Equipment

    Hey folks, just wanted to create a thread where people can post their likes and dislikes of the Nike+ gear. If you do not own, or have not tried this equipment, then please do not post hear, I am only interested in people's opinions as it relates to this post and not "rants and raves" from fascists, thanks.
    I have the Nike Shox Turbo Oh, and so far they are some of the most comfortable shoes i have ever owned. I am more of an Adidas person, but i am glad that i took the opportunity to try these out, I am 100% sold on the shoes, till i have to buy a new pair. I owned the Nike Zoom Plus LAFs for a day and found they were very uncomfortable and decided that the tongue on the Shox were a better fit, i was having problems with that on the Zooms, it's rather narrow and didn't separate my foot from the laces that well. I like the fact that on the Shox the tongue is really just part of the whole upper part of the shoe, sort of like a sock.
    As for clothing, i have the Nike+ Seamless L/S, it's very comfortable, but why would they call a shirt seamless if they are going to have a huge tag right on your shoulder? (didn't bother me that much, but i know if i try to remove it it will be more annoying). The one really big problem i find with this is that the pocket for the Nano is not designed to well, at least not on mine. I put my ipod in, but it just doesn't fit flush, the center button that is built in hits the play button, I found the real problem was where you insert the iPod, the opening leaves room for the ipod to slip up and shift so that it does not stay flush with the center button. Besides that I found that it was not necessary to look at the screen, running was great with it, a little better than the armband because you don't have to take it off to get to the iPod. The armband has been great so far as well, although i find myself wearing it on my forearm instead of my biceps, unless i am lifting weights.
    I would love to hear from some other people that have experienced the products as well. let me know if this was helpful, you can check out my website as well by checking my profile. shoot me an e-mail if you would like to challenge me or work on a challenge together.
    Thanks,
    Gabe

    I have the Air Max Moto IV shoes. Even though I'm a woman I got the mens because I actually liked the fit better and the color option as well. They are very comfortable and I recommend them. I went to the Nike store when I purchased them and I tried on all the different models and they all seemed like they would have worked well.
    I also have the armband and so far it works great. Way better than holding onto it on a run.
    My first couple runs with the sensor system went well. It seemed pretty accurate to my previous running times and distance. After that I did a run and when i went to connect to iTunes it didn't transmit my workout to the Nike site like before. I tried looking for it on my iPod and it was gone. I looked in my history and it showed it was there. The total of runs and distance was correct but that is the only place I can even find proof that I ran it. It's very frustrating when you set goals on the Nike site and you don't get credit for your runs. It would be nice if there was a way to manually input your run info. Also I have noticed that even though my date and times are correct for my runs on my iPod that when they transfer to the Nike+ site they are all off by one day.
    I am very happy with the shoes and armband and I love my iPod. I don't think there are any problems with those but so far the Nike+ site and getting help to fix these problems is pretty difficult.

  • Nike + at the gym?

    Hi!
    I am thinking about buying the Nike + sensor. Has anyone used it at the gym? I usually do the elliptical machine - will it record the information the same as if I were running outside?
    Thanks!

    When I tried to use the Nike+ on an eliptical the data was not even close to accurate. I was told that since using an eliptical keeps your feet moving constantly it will not measure the distance correctly. The sensor measures the movement when your foot strikes the ground and stops. Hope this helps.

  • Nike + Gym

    Hi all, confused about something.
    Reading the manual I got the impression that if I plugged in my iPod Touch Gen 2 to the cardio equip at the gym it will record the workout info. I don't have a sensor.
    So I plugged it in and the Lifestyle cardio gear connected to the iPod, videos movies etc but no workout info showed up on the iPod.
    So am I missing something or does this cardio gear only allow partial iPod transfer (music etc but no cardio data?)

    This feature is so that you may access the media from your iPod directly from the treadmill. I don't think there is any workout data that is supposed to be transferred, however I could be wrong.

  • IPhone nike+ Sync - Data Could Not Be Validated By Server

    Hi
    I have been using my iPhone 3GS with cardio equipment at my local gym (TechnoGym Vario Series) which has built in docks that among other features, store workout data to the iPhone to sync with nike+. This had been working perfectly since I started using it last month.
    In the past week I have been unable to sync any of my past 6 sessions to nike+ because I get the following error message:
    "Your workout data could not be sent to nike.com because the data could not be validated by the server."
    I understand how to access the xml files on the device and force a re-synchronisation by moving them to the "latest" folder, but the error message persists and none of my past 6 workout sessions will sync with nike+.
    I have tried to sync the data on 2 different machines, one Windows 7 64-bit and the other Windows XP 32-bit but exactly the same error occurs. Both are running iTunes 9 which I suspect may have been what has broken this feature?
    I really hope I can find a solution to this problem and would be grateful for any help. I am happy to provide any information required including copies of the xml files affected.
    Many thanks.

    Hi
    I have had this response from nike plus and this cleared the error when uploading my runs.
    Sometimes it happens that the iPod register the runs as already uploaded,after a not succesful uplaod.
    Then the only way to upload them again is the following.
    First you need to enable to view hidden files ( Control-panel >Folder Options>enable to view hidden files.)
    1. Dock your iPod nano and allow iTunes to launch. Select your iPod from the device tree on the left-hand side of the screen in iTunes.
    2. On the Summary page, make sure that "Enable disk use" is selected.
    3. From your Start menu, navigate to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer. (Please note that this program is not the same as Internet Explorer, the web browser.)
    4. In Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder Options and select the View tab. Make sure that "View hidden files and folders" is selected.
    5. Find your iPod nano in the device list under "My Computer." It will appear as an external drive; mine, for example, is Drive E, and it's labeled "Your iPod." Yours should have a similar name. Click on it.
    6. Navigate your iPod nano's folders as follows: iPod_Control > Device > Trainer > Workouts > Empeds. In the Empeds folder, you'll see one or more subfolders with alphanumeric filenames. These filenames correspond to your Nike+ sensors. Explore the folders until you locate the one containing the runs you'd like to manually re-upload. They'll probably be in the "synched" folder within your most recent sensor's folder.
    !!!!!!!!!!!Important ,you need to delete the settings.plist file in the sensor folder which stores your login information to make sure for next time you will upload to the correct profile
    7. Drag and drop each run folder you'd like to manually re-upload from "synched" to "latest."
    8. Eject your iPod nano and close iTunes.
    9. Dock your iPod nano and allow iTunes to launch. Your run data should upload
    Hope this helps.
