H.264 end loaded MOOV ATOM in f4v or flv playback

I'd like to know that if I wrap H.264 video that has the MOOV ATOM located at the end inside an F4V or FLV file, can playback start before the MOOV ATOM is loaded (ie. before the file is completely read)?
I've been trying for several months to get someone to MOOV the ATOM to the front so playback of our videos will start playing sooner. I'd like to confirm/unconfirm this question.
Also, the videos are continually generated by our embedded system, so running an after-the-fact app. is not under consideration.
Thanks in advance!

Well, unfortunately Flash was the universal format, and then Steve Jobs decided that he did not like Adobe. As most browsers on Earth were FLV playback enabled and if not, were only a quick, free download away. Now, it seems that Apple's devices will only work with flavors of MOV. One can still download and install Apple's QT Player (though several recent versions did not work well with Adobe programs - Steve Jobs sabotage?).
Instead of coming together on universal formats/CODEC's, it seems that many wish to fragment the market to support just their products. One is at the mercy of these hardware and software companies. Producers probably should now do several versions of everything, if they wish to cover all bases. Someone will have to download and install something.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Safari 4.0.3 for leopard 10.5.8 never ends loading

Ok, so I had Leopard 10.5.7 and updated to Leapord 10.5.8 and when I did Safari 4.0.2 downloaded with it.
Safari 4.0.2 never ended loading its start page. So when Safari 4.0.3 cam out, I deleted 4.0.2 and downloaded 4.0.3. Still the problem remains. As soon as I open Safari, it starts loading and never ends (I waited 1 hour one day). When its loading I cant even use Safari b/c the beachball comes up. Though other applications like Firefox do work, even when Safari is loading.
    How would I fix it.
    Thanks for your help!

Is anyone else having this problem????
Does anyone know how to fix it? Having to use Firefox is getting annoying after being used to Safari.
If it helps, I have Windows XP downloaded on the computer using bootcamp but this problem started way after I started using bootcamp.

  • How to add moov atom?

Since upgrading to CS6,when I upload my videos to You Tube I keep getting a notice that I need to adjust my Quicktime settings to prepare videos for internet streaming. Which is easy enough with Quicktime, just chexk the prepare for fast streaming box, with iFFMPEG it also one of the custom choices available by checking the "write moov atom" box. I cannot find the equivilent in AME. Are there presets that do write the moov atom.

Had the same question after using Media Encoder CS6 to compress a mp4 file for YouTube. Couldn't find a "fast start" switch. However, under export settings, I did find a Multiplexer tab that includes two Basic Settings:
Multiplexer: defaulted to MP4 (other options: 3GPP and None
Stream Compatibility: defaulted to Standard (other options: PSP, iPod)
With those settings, I created an MP4 file. To see if it was fast start, I used Hex Friendly for Mac to check and see if moov atom was moved to the front of the file (Fast Start). It was. So it looks like AME CS6 is now implementing fast start. But not matter how much I search, I cannot find collaboration. Everything I find is from earlier versions where lack of fast start was a definate problem. As an alternative, streamclip will create fast start MP4s. However, I find AME CS6 to be much faster.

  • H264 encoding settings - problems with FLV/F4V conversions and playback... HELP!!!

I do a lot of LIVE ENCODING and have been struggling with FMLE. I own the Adobe Creative Suite of applications and am pretty familiar with working with compatible/required formats, etc.
We have been primarily using VP6/mp3 for encoding. Most of our work is SD. We also always seem to have trouble when trying to encode the FLV file to another format, audio always seem to be out of sync, but sometimes it works...
Do you know why that would be regarding the FLV audio falling off sync when encoding to another format, such as MOV? Also, when we try to play back the FLV, the audio sounds garbled up and only plays well in Adobe Media Player.
I keep hearing H264 encoding will provide better video, but I just can't get that to work. Also, why is it that my entire CS4 suite of applications can't read or playback the F4V file- that's unacceptable from Adobe, just a big huge pain the butt... I've had to buy several cheapie applications to try and read F4V files and try to convert it, except that converting F4Vs seems to be a hit-or-miss.
What should I be using to playback and convert F4Vs? I also heard changing the extension to MP4 works, but I haven't seen that work, not even once. The cheap video conversion apps I have that read F4Vs are: FFMPEGX and Wondershare (Youtube). Sometimes they open F4V, but not most of the time...
I am using a super fast new Macbook Pro i7, 8GB ram (not the thunderbolt/usb3), CPU always runs smoothly and effectively.
Also, I always use the Canopus ADVC-110 as my transcoder. I do both video via Firewire IN or Composite IN, then Firewire OUT into the Mac encoder. FMLE sees it ok, but I wonder if this device might be my problem.
    VP6 settings are as follows:
    VP6 video / MP3 audio
    300 to 500k video
    30 fps
    640x480 in/out
    44100hz audio
    56k audio
We want to start using H264 encoding settings, but in my experience trying it out, the output file is ALWAYS PROBLEMATIC. Also, when testing a live stream, the audio seems to fall off sync with the video.
I am looking for your recommendations on the H264 settings I should try. Most of my events are simple meetings with 1 to 5 speakers, mostly talking heads. We rarely encode high motion video, but I would also like to be able to adjust H264 settings for both talking heads and medium to high motion without (any) frame drops.
I have tried streaming to multiple/different Flash Media Servers, archived only to file, and H264 results seem always bad.
Any recommendations from professionals in the live streaming arena are much appreciated. I thank you for your time in advance.
    Thank you!

    Hello Hugo
Sorry to know that you are facing these kind of issues, let me try to reply and understand issues one by one.
    >>We have been primarily using VP6/mp3 for encoding. Most of our work is  SD. We also always seem to have trouble when trying to encode the FLV  file to another format, audio always seem to be out of sync, but  sometimes it works...
-- Which application you are using to convert FLV to other format?
-- Is these any Audio - Video sync issue when you play FLV file in Adobe Media Player? if NO, it means FLV file created properly.
    >> Do you know why that would be regarding the FLV audio falling off sync  when encoding to another format, such as MOV? Also, when we try to play  back the FLV, the audio sounds garbled up and only plays well in Adobe  Media Player.
-- Which application you are using to convert FLV to MOV? if FLV playabck fine and without a/v sync issue, it should convert MOV with a/v sync.
-- It depend on audio codec selection by Media player or correct audio codec not installed for media player. Install appropriate audio codec to play in other media player if you dont want to play in Adobe Media Player.

-- Adobe Flash Media Server version 3.5 and later and Adobe Flash Media  Live Encoder 3 can record content in MPEG-4 (F4V) format using an  industry-standard recording technology known as "fragments" or "moof  atoms." Some MPEG-4 compatible tools and players do not support moof  atoms.
The F4V Post Processor tool aggregates the information from all  the moof atoms into a single moov atom and outputs a new file." You can download the tool from above location: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/tool_downloads/

  • Dreamweaver CS4 Can't Insert F4V only FLV?

I was hoping for a quick way to insert H.264 HD video into
web pages with CS4 Dreamweaver, but apparently the Insert -->
Media command only recognizes FLV file types, not the F4V files
produced by Adobe Media Encoder from H.264 HD video.
Others on the Internet are saying to rename the .F4V to .FLV.
Indeed, Dreamweaver will then allow you to insert the video with
Insert --> Media. Is this OK?
Does anyone know a fast way to insert F4V's into Dreamweaver
pages? One nice feature of the Dreamweaver insert of regular FLV's
is it keeps track of which folder you put the video in and
correctly changes the relative file paths when you upload to a web
server. When you insert a SWF & Video created with Flash,
there's usually headaches with the file paths being off unless you
put all the files in the same folder as the HTML page calling them,
which isn't practical for large sites with many videos. Or edit all
    the files, a bigger pain.

That's easily solved by using ROOT RELATIVE links to the SWF
    and Video
    rather than document relative ones.

  • F4v to FLV: How to make playback speed match

    Hello,
I output a F4V from Adobe Captivate 5 on a Mac. The audio and video sync is fine when I play the F4V in the Adobe Media Player. Then I use Adobe Media Encoder CS5 to convert the F4V to FLV. I've used various FLV outputs, but no matter what I use the audio and video do not sync. Any suggestions?
My goal is to convert the FLV to ogg format.
    Kind regards,
    Rebecca

    Hi,
I found the solution. The Captivate file I was provided should have been output to F4V with a fixed frame rate.
    Kind regards,
    Rebecca

  • F4V OR FLV - Whats the diff ???

    Hi
I have just spent the past couple of hrs trawling thru my CS4 docs and various forums in a vain effort to discover what the difference is between F4V and FLV file formats. So far I all I can get is a lot of detail about codecs but zip on these file formats. I think that F4V is a later file format than FLV and maybe it contains newer codec such as On2 VP6-S Am I right ?
    Can anyone help ?
    Thanks.

  • I just sync'd my iPod Nano for the first time. All the audiobooks appear to have been loaded but I cannot hear anything during playback. The volume is turned all the way up. My headphones work when plugged into a different unit. What's next?

I just sync'd my brand new ipod Nano with my laptop PC running Windows 7, and loaded all my audiobooks. They show up on the Nano's screen, but when I select one I hear nothing. The earphones work fine when connected to another unit. What's next?

I'm ok with having to resync everything once she gets home but it concerned me when you said it would, again, wipe everything once I plugged it in here. I don't care about having to reload music, contacts, & apps from here, but I would rather not lose all the pictures that she took while she was gone. If we did decide to go the whole start-over-from-scratch route on her end while she is there, could the loss of pictures be adverted if she created a backup of her phone, copied the backup to a USB drive, & brought the backup file home with her so I could restore it from here? When I plug my phone into another computer, I can open it through My Computer & copy the pictures; could I do that when she gets home before I allow iTunes to open & wipe everything again?
I guess the other option would be to just have her just copy all of the pictures onto a USB drive before she comes home, I'm just curious if it's possible to restore everything if she just brings the backup file home.
Thanks again for taking the time to helping me.

  • Load .swf into .swf with linked .flv

    Hi all,
I'm trying to load swf-2 into swf-1, with swf-2 externally
    loading an .flv.
When I go straight to swf-2, it works fine. And when I embed
the flv in swf-2, and open swf-1, it works fine.
It's only an issue when swf-2 is pulling the EXTERNAL flv.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Tracy

are the files all in the same directory? if you load a swf 2
in a swf 1, then the code used by swf2 to load the flv file would
be executed as if the code was executed from swf 1 location. is swf
2 and the flv in a different folder from swf 1?

  • I would like to know the list of possible output (export) file codec from FCP X. For example, can I export  in F4V or FLV format?

I would like to know the list of possible output (export) file codec from FCP X.  For example, can I export  in FLV format?  Where do I find the list, which gives me all the details about it?  Or is there only one output codec? Thanks

That's an excellent analogy. While FCP cannot export FLV. It is possible to do a very simple substitution. If you export a QuickTime movie using the .mov suffix with the H.264 codec, you can change it to FLV simply by changing the suffix to .flv. This is an acceptable format for Flash movies on most web sites, if that's where you're trying to go.

  • F4V for Progressive Playback

I have a MPG4 video that we'd like to convert to a F4V file capable of progressive playback from our server.  The reason is that we'd like to host a few video files for playback on our site but we do not a have a streaming server.  Can someone offer some insight into how I should approach this?  I know digital video, but I don't know a lot about Flash or Flash players.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

    Hi
If you are using a true modal window then playback should stop when the window is closed, however if you are talking about the lightbox style of modal window then -
There are a number of solutions to your problem -
    Use javascript to stop playback.
Use a combination of actionscript and javascript.
Use the ajax components for flash.
item 3 can be obtained here - http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flash-Ajax_Video_Component.
