H.323-IDs registration with MCM Gatekeeper

I could not find any document that show how to configure the MCM (Gatekeeper) routers and TACACS+ servers to handle video conference end units H.323-IDs registration. Our IP Video Conference end units have DNS names associated with IP addresses. How do I set up the Gatekeeper MCM routers and the TACACS+ server to support H.323-IDs registration?

Self registration with Approval

Hi,
I need to understand how this self registration with approval works. What we need in something on these lines
user self registers -> approver approves -> user gets access to portal
Can i create a user without any role assigned the him and when the approver approves, automatically some pre-designated role gets assgined to the user? I want my approver to just click on approve YES and not actually get into UME stuff.

Yes, i have already gone thru company based self registration. But it does not specify the role assignment part :(. What i read was ok ... you register then u get assigned to the portal as guest user and then if approver approves the request the user becomes a COMPANY user. But then when the approver approves the request, does he assign the company related roles to the user? Or can that be coded somewhere?

MCM Gatekeeper 12.4(17) "show gatek calls" not making sense

Sometimes when I do a "show gatek calls" to view current Video calls, the information show for a particular call shows the H323ID calling itself, however it shows different E.164 address for SRV and DST endpoint. This does not look right to me. Calls are still being connected fine, however I would like to know what would cause this particular information to appear on the call log. I have attached the debug log and "show gatek calls"

The current GW2P Gateway Cards register with the Gatekeeper with Service prefixes. show gatek gw-type prefix. The GW service prefixes were setup from the get go. thats not the problem. I believe The problem has to do with LRQ(Location_Request) timing. Everytime the GK receives information from the GWs, endpoints or MCUs the information is then displayed on the show Gatek calls display. I have a TAC case in, and IOS Engineers looking at the case. I still do not have a solid answer to this.

i ran into the same problem. surprisingly though, i am not using multiple apple id and just one mac.
i did change both the account (apple id) and the computer (from pc to a mac server), but home sharing is on and the apple tv (1) is synced with the new computer.
i can connect to the itunes store and browse through it (signed in at all times). i cannot purchase any content and cannot play transferred rentals from the computer (apple tv is not authorised...)
somehow, it seems the apple tv was stuck with a previous id.
i have just now re-authorised my computer on the account and will give the apple tv another try. i did notice a message during the re-authorisation process. the apple tv is being authorised. this gives me hope.
in any case, your setup seems to be a dream come through. i decided to phase out my high end multiroom linn kivor system (over 20k back 6y ago) to an itunes based system. apparently you managed to build something.
i tried an itunes based nas but gave up due to complex operation (and overheating on top) and went for a mac server. i will be using windows clients though.
most of my content is cd based. can you sync purchased content between pc's? or with a server?

The L2FM is Layer2 Feature Manager which manages the mac-address table and mac-address
registrations and deletions from the hardware table. The L2FM component exists on Nexus
7K. In case of Nexus 5500 and Nexus 6K, there is an equivalent component called FWM. Since
most of the code is re-used in Nexus 6K platform, the references to L2FM need to be
removed/resolved on Nexus 6K code. There is a software bug to fix these L2FM references in
the code. Still the bug is in assigned state, hence the fix for this bug is not yet
available. You can safely ignore these messages, they have no impact. The mac-addresses
are registered with FWM and since there is no L2FM these messages have no impact.

SnmpXdmid: Registration with DMI failed. err = 831

Dear all,
I am installing Solaris 10u9 in some SPARC servers (M4000, T5120, etc.). After successfully installing the OS, I periodically received the message "snmpXdmid: Registration with DMI failed. err = 831" in the system messages.
I really don't know why this message appears and does it affect my system? It seems that this message only appears in Solaris 10u9.
Any advice is appreciated.

1. The patch to address CR 7010213 has not been applied and the snmpXdmid file in questions has a expired date.
2. The patch to address CR 7010213 has been applied but the customer was not provided the information to clear some snmpXdmid database files that store expired date information.
The following steps need to be executed as root on the system.
The first step can be omitted if the patch 138361-02 or later has already been installed.
# patchadd 138361-02
# svcadm disable dmi
# rm /var/dmi/db/*
# svcadm enable dmi

You created the same Apple ID with the setup assistant on the new iPad Air - the same Apple ID used for the iTunes and App Store on your iPhone?
There is no charge for a free app regardless.

I'm looking to move a system that runs WebLogic AS, and has an SSL certificate
with Verisign, to a new machine. The question is, what is used by WebLogic to
identify the machine to VeriSign and the users, in the SSL negotiation. If the
identifier will be the machine's IP address of it's host-name, that's not a problem,
as the new hardware will have the same ones as the old machine. However, if the
machine's hostid (on most Unix systems, 'uname -i' on HP), which is the machine's
hardware unique id, is used, then I will have to get a new certificate from Verisign.
This is used to be tied to the IP-address, and later to the machine's MAC address,
but newer machines have this tied to the CPU (as in the case with Itanium-based
machines) or somehow to the motherboard.
I'd appreciate any input on the matter.

SSO regapp registration with multiple net names

I succesfully configured my apex engine to work with SSO authentication.
I used in regapp.sql
l_listener_token := 'HTML_DB:myhostname.mydomanin.com:7777';
and now the home page link works fine:

The problem is that I have some other network names (aliases) for the same IP (10.10.10.10) and I want these links to be functional as well:
http://myhostname2.mydomanin2.com:7777/pls/htmldb/f?p=504:1
http://10.10.10.10:7777/pls/htmldb/f?p=504:1
But when using them I get this error:
Error in portal_sso_redirect: missing application registration information:
p_partner_app_name:g_listener_token:HTML_DB:myhostname2.mydomanin2.com:7777
Please register this application as described in the installation guide
I tried to reuse the tokens I have for myhostname.mydomanin.com and register again regapp.sql with:
l_listener_token := 'HTML_DB:myhostname2.mydomanin2.com:7777';
But this violates unique constraint WWSEC_SECI_UK1 on WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO$.SITE_TOKEN column.
Question:
Is there a way to make functional the alternate links without getting new tokens (new SSO registrations to iAS)?

IChat Registration With iCloud id

I have just setup my Apple ID using the iCloud.
iCloud requested that I setup my Apple ID with my email address. My email address is not one of .me.com or mac.com.
How do I use my Apple ID to work with iChat?

That looks like a generic Apple ID page where you can list any email you have as an Apple ID.
I looked again at this page to see if there was a direct link to an iCloud registration page.
I have several older @mac.com names I have created for testing iChat in the past.
I went to the iCloud.com site and put in one of these.
At the moment I get this alert
It seems I would have to go through similar steps again (A t this point I am hesitating as I am not sure you can run two iCloud Accounts at once).
iCloud issued @me.com names only work in iChat 6.
Alternaively you could register for an @mac.com name here
However you may have difficulty if you only have one email account. You have to use an second email to sort of "Hard Code" the new @mac.com ID to an email and this cannot be one already linked to an Apple ID.
You can create an AIM ID and use an existing email for Cofirmation and password recovery or in fact type in the existing email and use that as your AIM Screen Name (depending how public you want the email)

ISE 1.2 device registration with MAB only, no client provisioning

Is it possible for AD users (no guest users) to walk through the Device Registration Self Registration without Client Provisioning ?
I do not want to push certificates or native supplicant profiles to client devices.
I would just want AD users to register their MAC address, if MAC is not known. Add the MAC to some sort of group.
Then if MAC is known (in this group), skip registration and allow full access to the VLAN.
Right now, i am stuck on the registration portal that says "The system adminstrator has either nog configured or enabled a policy for your device". ?? It is true that my Client Provisioning screen is empty.
Am i really obliged to use native supplicant provisioning to register my device ?

Device Registration web auth is a process where you can configure user without client provisioning.
In this scenario, the guest user connects to the network with a wireless connection that sends an initial MAB request to the Cisco ISE node. If the user’s MAC address is not in the endpoint identity store or is not marked with an AUP accepted attribute set to true, ISE responds with a URL redirection authorization profile. The URL redirection presents the user with an AUP acceptance page when the user attempts to go to any URL.
1. A guest user connects to the network using a wireless connection and has a MAC address that is not in the endpoint identity store or is not marked with an AUP accepted attribute set to true, and receives a URL redirection authorization profile. The URL redirection presents the user with a AUP acceptance page when the guest user attempts to go to any URL.
2. If the guest user accepts the AUP, their MAC address is registered as a new endpoint in the endpoint identity store (assuming the endpoint does not already exist). The new endpoint is marked with an AUP accepted attribute set to true, to track the user’s acceptance of the AUP. An administrator can then assign an endpoint identity group to the endpoint, making a selection from the Guest Management Multi-Portal Configurations page.
3. If the guest’s endpoint already exists in the endpoint identity store, the AUP accepted attribute is set to true on the existing endpoint. The endpoint’s identity group is then automatically changed to the value selected in the Guest Management Multi-Portal Configurations page.
4. If the user does not accept the AUP or an error occurs in the creation of the endpoint, an error page appears.
5. After the endpoint is created or updated, a success page appears, followed by a CoA termination being sent to the NAD/WLC.
6. After the CoA, the NAD/WLC reauthenticates the user’s connection with a new MAB request. The new authentication finds the endpoint with its associated endpoint identity group, and returns the configured access to the NAD/WLC.

Essbase Registration With Shared Services Fails...

Hi all,
I have three system A, B, C in a distributive manner. A has only Oracle 11g and Essbase Server. B has Shared Services, Planning, Essbase Essbase Components, Workspace. C has EPMA, Calc Manager, Reporting Analysis. I created separate database for each components. While configuring I do the following-
-> First on B I configured Shared Services/Common Settings with its database(1st Time). I could see the green tick.
-> On A I configured Shared Services/Common Settings with previously configured database. I could see green tick.
-> On A configure Essbase Server, here I get the error which shows Register with Shared Services failed.
Examining the configtool_err.log navigate to D:\Hyperion\logs\config folder I see the following message-
(Jun 10, 2009, 01:13:32 PM), com.hyperion.cis.config.wizard.RunAllTasksWizardAction, ERROR, Shared Services Registration task can not be executed because Shared Services instance is not available in Registry
(Jun 10, 2009, 01:13:42 PM), com.hyperion.essbase.config.EssbaseAgentTaskProcessor, ERROR, Error in executing the script to register Essbase as a service: exitCode = 1
I am using v11.1.1.1 on Win 2003.

Thanks John. I was so anxious to get a response from you. See, on the machine where only Essbase Server is installed( and 11g as well), on configuration page I get two options- Hyperion Foundation and Essbase. Now Hyperion Foundation( Configure Database and Common Settings) configuration is done properly with previously configured database.
Now in Essbase node there is Essbase and under it is Essbase Custom Configuration. when I try to configure it I get the error that Register to Shared Services failed. I could see green tick on Essbase Custom Configuration, but a red cross on Essbase.
What needs to be done John?? Please help.
