H-ALVORIX_HF-RS880-uATX motherboard bios upgrade for HP p6677c

I have the above titled motherboard in the mentioned computer.  The bios is American Megatrends Inc. 6.04 09/07/2010.  Is there an update for this bios/board, and, is there any configurable bios to regulate fans, temperatures, buss speed, etc.  I want to tinker with it at my own risk.

Hi,
This motherboard is manufactured by Foxconn. Go to www.foxconnsupport.com and have a look for a new BIOS for the H-Alvorix mtb. For the fan regulating etc try CPU-Z software.

  • H-RS880-UATX Motherboard BIOS Update

Hello, I am trying to update the bios for this board (H-RS880-UATX) in my HP Pavillion.
I am running windows 8.1 (likely an issue)
My Current BIOS version is 5.03 (possibly 2009)
I found version 6.11 from 2012 on the hp website: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=uk&lc=en&softwareitem=cp-106532-1
I also found version 6.09 from 2013 (odd?) also on the hp website: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=uk&lc=en&softwareitem=pv-88054-2
Unfortunately nither of these would run on my machine. "Incorrect BIOS for your system (253)" which makes little to no sense.
    Three questions:
A: What is the latest driver?
B: How do I use this website to find a list of ALL drivers for a specific piece of hardware?
    C: Why can't I install a driver for a verified product?
    Thank you.
    This question was solved.

  • H-ALVORIX_HF-RS880-uATX BIOS Update

This subject, or one very much like it was asked. Unfortunately I cannot find the page, but the answer was less than satisfactory. Specifically one of the answers consisted of How Dare You Come Here Asking How To Hack A HP Computer. Not Gonna Happen!
    Excuse me?
I am here to find out how to unlock the BIOS of MY COMPUTER that I bought from HP! I didn't know the computer was BIOS locked when I bought it (otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it). I went to upgrade it, saw that it had an AM3 socket, and bought a AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE to put in. Some nice Cosair XMS3@1333 to round things out, and was even thinking of swaping out the 1TB drive for a SSD to really add some speed and eliminate the HD bottleneck. As it turns out, the motherboard itself is the problem. I've never encountered an "Unsupported CPU" error before, or even a BIOS that was locked down. It defeats the purpose of upgrading a computer, which in itself is something of a foreign concept.
I am here to find out how to unlock the BIOS of myH-ALVORIX_HF-RS880-uATX based HP Pavilion p6636f or to find out why it can't be done and what alternatives exist, if any. As the machine is surely out of warranty by the many upgrades applied, I am willing to consider alternatives that for all intents and purposes make the machine something that HP will never consider servicing again. It was probably a referb to begin with, but I thought it had potential.
Answers anyone? I'm all eyes and ears.
BTW, HP, if you're reading this: the weird memory sizes you're currently installing in your machines makes it look like your too cheap to put in a full complement of memory, and blantantly cutting corners and ripping offf the consumer.

I'm in total agreement with your feelings on this issue and your statement to HP. The P7-1003w is my first HP purchase and MOST DEFINATELY will be the last HP I ever purchase.

Good day and welcome to the community.
Type 8189 would make it an M50.
Please have a look at: http://support1.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-50534
It may have the package you're seeking. As with any BIOS update, especially with older machines well out of warranty, please review the documentation closely before proceeding.
    Hope this helps.

  • BIOS upgrade for K8N Neo-V 2.0, MS-7030, from v9.0?

Does anyone know where to find the latest BIOS for the older Socket 754 MB mentioned in my Subject?  It's running v9.0 now, and I've heard that there's at least one newer release.  I'm having trouble with suspend/resume and hibernate, and was hoping a new BIOS might help.
I submitted a request via the Online Service ticketing system two days ago, but haven't heard back yet.
    Trying MSI's site at http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=1&prod_no=210
it offers only the "Live Update" service for this particular board, which won't work for me because I don't run Windows, only Linux (can boot to a DOS floppy to reflash, of course).
ftp.msi.com.tw access requires a username/password, and the old "*********" one isn't accepted anymore.
    thanks,

Never mind, I was able to access the FTP site as '*******' / '*******', downloaded and flashed the latest v9.14 BIOS.  The process was fast enough that on un-hibernating back into Linux after the upgrade, all my ssh sessions were still connected, which was nice
Whether this update will solve the AGP-related suspend trouble, only time will tell... that doesn't happen every time.
btw, is there any way to prevent the "NVIDIA RAID BIOS 4.81" scan from slowing down a boot cycle, turning it off completely for systems that don't use RAID?  One would think that setting all RAID options to DISABLED in the BIOS setup screen would do so, but it pops up and spends a few seconds scanning regardless.

  • MSI gx 640 - pondering bios upgrade for XEN

    Aloha All,
So I have been trying to get XEN running on my gx 640.  The issue seems to be the network adapter.  It almost works.  So I was wondering if I should update the bios.  Is that just foolish?  It seems the latest version is 1656 10e and I am running 10c.  Is there any info about what is updated/fixed in each version of the bios?
Once you download the files can you run the update from inside windows?  What happens if you try and run flash.bat? Or do you HAVE to run it from a flash drive in DOS?
    Mahalo.

It says on the MSI website what the update fixes:
"Disable UEFI boot for system hangs up if boot from CD/DVD with UEFI method."
    http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1998
Can't say it would solve your issue so no point updating. By the way, if flashing the BIOS you must always >>use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<. Flashing through Windows is a very bad idea.

  • BIOS Upgrade - MSI 860D Pro?

Hello all! I am looking for a BIOS upgrade for my MSI 860D Pro - dual Xeon board. The BIOS is about three years old and I would like to flash and upgrade it. The Everest utility told me to go to eSupport, where I'd have to pay *$69.95* for an upgrade. I didn't want to pay such a ridiculous sum for an upgrade, so I wanted to know if there was a free update that was supported by MSI here.
I could not find where to get a BIOS upgrade on the site. The North bridge chipset is an Intel Colusa i860, and the South bridge is an Intel 8280 1BA ICH2.
    My Motherboard ID is 04/12/02-i860-47B27X-6A69SM4AC-00.
    Thank you for your assistance!

Do you have problems with the board?
If not, don't update the BIOS.

  • Flex 10 bios upgrade

How to upgrade bios for Flex 10 ?  How to run the "93cn52ww.exe". My Flex 10 is now running Win 8.1 32-bits.... Bios upgrade seems to be for 64 bits.  I don't see any bios upgrade for 32 bits systems
The README of  bios upgrade version (9.2 ?) says it fixes the hang up after S3...
do you mean it also correct the problem described in the thread: "Flex10: Can't wake up from sleep after upgraded to windows 8.1" ?
So how can I fix this "wake up from sleep" issue !
How to enter bios setting and read installed version ?
    Laurent

    I have the same issue.
And no answer from Lenovo Support. Only bad links and no 32bit drivers for windows 8.1.
I's the first time and the last time i by a lenovo.
Hope one day we will have an answer...
Bon courage Laurent, il en faut de la patience...
C'est tellement dommage parce-qu'en dehors de ça c'est une petite machine bien pratique.

  • Narra3 has same issue as M2N68-LA, which you fixed in bios upgrade, but Narra3 has no fix.

You made a bios upgrade for M2N68-LA which fixes black screen when coming out of sleeping.
M2N68-LA (Narra3) has the same problem, but there is no bios upgrade for that.
If you make it, as I think you should, please make a win 7 x64 version of the bios upgrade tool also.

HP, Please address this long-known problem.  India support desk has advised checking the HP website for the BIOS upgrade for over a year now.
This bug has been very poorly addressed by HP.  Keeps the power companies happy though, I suppose.
If HP does not improve addressing known bugs like this one, hello Mac.

  • Cannot find bios upgrade info on web site

I have been trying without any luck with finding out if there is a bios upgrade for my computer. The current version is 8.04 8/09/12. I am in the process of upgrading to Win 10 and don't know if this version will support it which is why I am looking for a possible upgrade. Could someone steer me in the right direction?
    Thanks

Hi Bob, You can find the BIOS upgrades for your PC here. Your PC hasn't been certified by HP for Windows 10 and no driver updates are avaialble.  However, W10 should work.  Just be sure that you are running W8.1 and make a set of the external HP recovery disk.
