H264 interleaced export in 4.1
It seems not possible to export in compressor 4.1 a H264 HD1920x1080 interleaced file. In 4.0.6 no prob
Here's one way; there may be others.
In the Settings pane hit the plus sign and select Quick Time Components from the drop-down. In the Inspector, Encoder Type, choose MPEG4. Hit the Configure button immediately underneath and choose H.264 for Video Format.
Here is what I get for a result where the source file is 1080i.

After Effects CC 2014,0 H264 Media export
Windows 8.1 (absolutely nothing to do with the problem)
Quicktime version 7,7,5 (absolutely nothing to do with the problem)
After Effects CC 2014.0
Unable to export media with h264 codec of the same quality as in After Effects CS6,
Media Encoder CC 2014.0 - h264 - worse quality, twice the size of the file
Quicktime - h264 - much lower quality, much larger - about 6x - unusable
Thank you for advice on how to make After Effects reusable software.
Without quality media export this program unusable.Thank you I learned that it is dependent on the setting. After twenty years of working with AE, it is refreshing to me. I recommend you try the settings before you answer and you will see that the original h264 codec, which was removed from After Effects, had at the same file size much higher quality. Full HD 50p has MediaCoder twice the size of a qucktime h264 is unusable. If you say that the same results can edit the settings, please publish here the settings for full HD 50p. (for sure 50 frames per second 1920x1080 px) After the recent modifications indeed degraded to a tool for Youtube, but before that it was a professional tool for video post-production. Please, therefore the publication of setting the same quality as it was before deleting AE h264 codec.

Post-Render time waste for H264 & ProRes Export on Windows?
There is one thing that bothers me all the time.
If i render to some 1 Gbit/s windows network location, everything is fine until multiplexing starts, and it goes like this:
1. Premiere CC creates .m4v file for video and .aac file for audio - thats OK.
2. Then multiplexing starts and some temp file like "s3r4." is created - no problem.
3. After that Premiere creates desired ".mp4" file with suffix ".mp4._00_" and copies "s3r4." to that file
4. Than it renames ".mp4._00_" to ".mp4" and render is finished
The thing i don't get here is why Premiere have to copy already multiplexed file "s3r4." to "_00_" file
and than rename it back to mp4? This procedure takes a lot of extra time if you have some huge file size (4GB? 8GB?)
The other thing: i have also installed Drastic MediaReactor for Direct ProRes export from Premiere CC on Windows.
Files are huge, no multiplexing in this case, but still after render Premiere starts
it's unneeded copy process of ".mov" file to ".mov._00_" and than back to ".mov".
I've tried to "end task" and just use the uncopied ".mov" which is available immediately
after render and it works fine and has no problems at all. I have also contaceted
Drastic Tech on this case and they said they have nothing to do with this copy/pasting.
That's why i don't know why Premiere has to copy/paste post-render files to the same location after render.
In case of ProRes they can reach ~20GB and you can imagine how long does it takes to copy/paste
such file especially to a network location.
Why instead of "copy" Premiere can't just use a "rename"? That could be blazing fast!Try exporting to a local hard drive instead of one on a network.

Pictures fade after export using Compression H264
I have pictures with vivid colors. The colors are consistent in Photoshop, Apple Preview, and iPhoto albums. Even when I created a slideshow and set compression-type to Photo JPEG in "Movie Settings", and exporting it to .mov file, the colors are also still consistent.
However for the same pictures when I choose compression-type to H264 and export it to .mov file, the colors fade. Eg. the area that is supposed to be dark becomes light. And the bright area becomes very light or washed out.
By the way, here is my setting:
iPhoto '09 version 8.0.4 (409)
Compression Type: H.264
Frame Rate: current
Key Frames: every 24 frames
Quality: high
Encoding: Best quality
Data Rate: automatic
Optimized for download
Does anyone have similar problem? Did I miss any steps? Please help.Look in the Inspector and see whether Spatial Conform is set to Fit.

I freshly installed Windows 7 and the CC-Apps PremierePro, After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop and Speedgrade.
When I try to export any video from premiere to the media encoder premiere crashes without any error message. The problem is not the project: I created several new projects and even if I only have one Graphic-File/Bars/h264-video in the timeline that I try to export: premiere crashes. When I export directly from premiere it works, but there is no chance to go via media encoder. The strange thing is that I can export from after effects to the media encoder without any problem...
Second Problem: Encore crashes also. Everytime I try to build a DVD => Encore crashes
Does anybody have an idea?
Here is what I already tried:
Yesterday it worked fine today it crashes when I export from premiere via media encoder.
1. Bars+Tone => export => crash
2. Video Project with 2 short h264-files => export => crash
3. I used Software only renderer => crash

Media Encoder CC2014.2 crash on windows when trying to export when quicktime is installed
Hi,
I'm trying to export .mov files (created on random Mac computers in very hi-res) to reduce file size, and have the same output format. (possibly 1080p H.264-> .mp4)
I installed Media Encoder cc2014.2 on my pc (win7, 64bits, french).
When I first tested, Only the audio was being exported. But I soon realized I didn't had the proper codec installed on my PC.
(I wasn't able to play the original video file, only the audio was playing).
So, like a good boy I installed Apple Quicktime (7.76.80.95)
With quicktime on my PC I was able to play the original video file. (with quicktime player)
So I opened Media Encoder again, and on the preview this time I can see the video with the sound. But as soon as I start the coding (the little green arrow) Adobe Media Encoder crash.
I have tried multiple output format, it always crash right when I start exporting the file.
I uninstalled Quicktime, and media encoder is working again ... but my original files (.mov) can't be exported with video, only the sound.
I have tried a third party codec (K-Lite), I can see the video+sound on my pc, but Media Encoder is still blind, no video, only the sound.
Is there a way to add codec to Media encoder without having to install Quicktime?
Or a way to make Media Encoder work on my PC when Quicktime is installed?
btw I'm sorry if my text is a bit confusing, I'm french speaking
Thank's in advance! The Error is back!!!

My Compressor Export file not liked by a program
Hi,
So my Quicktime Movie export files from Motion are not being allow to be imported into a audio program i use (Ableton Live)....I've tried H264 and PJEG both at 640x480 and 29.97
I've checked had no problems importing movies that had the same settings as those above
into Ableton.
I then discovered that if I opened the QT movies in QT Player and then re-exported them with the same settings....that those files were then able to be imported into the program.
In the H264 re-export it seemed to create a smaller file.
in the PJEG re-export it created a much larger file.
but both could be imported into Ableton Live.
Is Compress QT export creating a wierd header on the QT files?
Should I be turning on/off such things as:
premultiply alpha
active camera
lighting
field render
motion blur
Frame Blending
Use Float Bit Depth
I've found the work around but would love to save on the time and
disk space it takes to re-export them from Quicktime (and also to understand
what the deal is)
thanksThe option worth trying is "replace asset" rather than deleting and reimporting - the latter guaranteed to lose all the info.
But Encore is not very forgiving when many changes are made. And a "do-over" is often the best option.
There is, of course, no "Encore CC" - just EN CS6. But the fact that you are running Mavericks and having the same sort of Encore errors that occur with various operating systems, and not basic program operating problems, is encouraging for Mavericks' users. -
Share/export without any re-encoding, possible?
let's say you create a new MPEG4 iMovie project, and drag some DV files of a consisent size and quality into it; they get encoded to mpeg4 during the import. Now say you want to export your movie-- shouldn't there be a setting to simply "copy" the frames rather than re-encode everything? Not only does it take forever and it's redundant, but you loose quality doing so.
I know if you want to resize the clip, or do anything to it, it would HAVE to re-encode it-- but shouldn't there be an option to just use the clips "raw"? Of course, the clips would have be completely consistent, which would be the case if they were DV off of the same camera...
Thanks!??? me confused...
I still don't understand your workflow, sorry:
iMovie is a consumer video edit app meant to work with firewire connected miniDV/D8 camcorders
no word about "convert it into a playback format first, then create a project in a third codec... " etc...
iM≥5 allows projects in mainly TWO codecs: DV (as on miniDV tapes, bit-identical tape=>Mac, no loss of quality), and mpeg4 (mainly for iSight recordings, low quality, as from some still-cams aible to do "movin' images"..) iM is a consumer app, made for simplicity & convenience, no all-purpose app. stay within concept of app => no fuzz (here...).
2nd)
mpeg4... a file with a mp4 suffix can contain MANY different codecs: plain mpeg4, but also h264.. or divx... or... iM allows in its Expert Settings to choose, WHICH mp4 should be created...
mpeg4 ≠ mpeg4 !!
ALL that codecs are NOT intended as processing files, they are PLAYBACK codecs..
so, it is absolutly useless + lossy (=losing pic quality), to handle any h264 coded material; if you have dv, stay dv.
and: h264 needs an awful lot of encoding power => tiiiiiiiime. if you choose "mpeg4" as project format, and choose h264 as export format, that needs computation, lots of computations.. and creates apparently from mp4 to mp4, as said above
finally:
all that "compressing" does NOT save any diskspace; these processes need an awful lot of diskspace to generate the files... video needs harddrive space - no workaround. -
Export settings for high res playback.
Good afternoon. This is my first post.
I am editing a video that i shot with a canon 60d. files are .mov and the sequence is two hour long.
I am using a pc with i5-3570k, 8gb ram, nvidia gtx 660 2 gb and 1tb 7200 rpm hdd. editing on premier 7.0
I would appreciate any advice on how to export it with maximum quality. And please provide any necessary equipement needed to playback the video.
As of now, I will reproduce the video on an event a week of now, there I will be assigned a tv.
I would like to play the video at maximum resolution. Lets assume the tv is 50" full hd.
Should I play back from an external usb hdd? or from the computer plugged via hdmi, or from a usb flash storage media?
Which codec should I use, I figure png lossless would produce such a large file that the tv/my pc would have trouble playing it.
I noticed that h.264 produces a larger file that mpeg 2.
Which codec should i use? should I download codecs from a third party? please help.
Question number 2: what equipement is needed to reproduce the video, a proyector? or a tv? a blueray player or reproduce from usb? What if I wanted to reproduce the video on a 80" screen? what would i need? is a proyector higher quality than a tv?
Any advice is welcome. You will be fine with an H264 1080 Export
Keep the Bit Rate High.
Is a proyector higher quality than a tv?
Can be . Depends on the rez of the Projector. ( Think digital Cinema projectors) -
Premiere CS6 /Totalcode pluging, bug during export
Hello,
I try the demo version of total code for Premiere 6.0.3
I am very disappointed, because in H264/AVC export ,
preset HDTV 1080i
frame rate changed from 25i to 50p
the value of Reference Frames (Advanced setting panel) is always ignored and set to 3 in output,
Changing this value, or any B-frame setting has no effect, output is always 3 Ref Frames. (Checked via Mediainfo)
This is very annoying as many Multimedia-disks players (Like DVICO S1) does not support well Ref Frames greater than 2 (=> generate lags during video play).
This is a bug in Totalcode, as it was previously working in MainConcept Codec suite 5.1
Any way to bypass this bug will be appreciated, I plan to migrate to Totalcode for Cuda acceleration.
OlivierThat is a question for Main Concept, not Adobe

Exporting 4min Video to the web
Here's the specs the webmaster gave me.
I need to limit my width to 550 pixels, and my overall file size should be relatively as small as possible.
Flash video is what he prefers.
Now, I think I know that I need to use Quicktime Conversion... but as far as what everything to do I'm lost. What's the best way to keep the picture and file size at a minimum, while staying withing "some" quality. I just want to deliver him the best I can under his guidlines. ALL the help is awesome. Thanks in advance.

Best way to export timeline footage to Toast 10 (blu ray)
I have a 2hr production that has been shot on a Panasonic HMC150 AVCHD cam, L/T into FCP as Prorez LT and I would like to export this into Toast and burn a Blu Ray disc for my client. Is the best method to use Quicktime conversion to H264 or export as a Quicktime movie using current settings (prorez LT). My end destination is Toast 10.
Any help would be great ..........Export current settings/self contained/video and audio/no recompression.
Don't do QT conversion.
Set your preferences for encoding in Toast, and use that self contained file.
Be prepared for a long encode. -
H264 problems in Director 11.5
Has anyone had any problems using H264 video in Director 11.5? I am using H264 quicktimes exported out of Apple Final Cut Pro. I've created a test project with 3 Adobe Photoshop graphics and an H264 video. Sometimes I can import the video, sometimes Director crashes. Even on those occasions I've been able to import the video, many times once I save the project I will not be able to re-open it. I get a "Director has exerienced a fatal error and will close" error.
Things seem to be much more stable with quicktimes encoded in Sorenson 3 or encoded with MP4. I've even re-encoded the H264 video through Premiere Pro CS4 thinking it might be something out of FCP but still have the same problem.
I have confirmed I have the most up-to-date version of Quicktime (7.6.5) and have re-installed Director 11.5.
Any one else experiencing this?

I'm trying to burn a H264 movie exported from Premier Pro onto CD. As there are usualy playback issues, I am thinking of embdeding AMP onto CD. Anyway of doing this and how to create an autorun to start AMP on CD?
If cannot embed AMP, any suggestions on how to embed any player for H264 or mp4 files on CD would also help.
Thanks. No idea, and there is an alternative too...
