H420 desktop won't install anything

So far, I can;t install Adobe, Java, Microsoft updates and a VPN progam.  i get variety of messages amounting ot the action is not allowed or I don't have permission to install.   Most recently, the Microsoft install was rejected with message 2203.  This has happened witrh every program I've tried.  I'm running Windows 7 with Chrome.  Have also tried with Explorer.

It seems your user account has limited rights.
You can try installing the software with administrator rights.
After this you should be able to install the software.
Best Regards,

  • Adobe Desktop won't install

I was able to successfully install the Palm Desktop on my XP Professional SP3 system without incident.  When I try to install the Adobe Reader for Palm, the application installs on my Palm TX no problem, but the desktop application to specify the files to download won't install.  It enters the Install Shield, I hit next, the progress bars go across quickly and there is nothing on my desktop or in my Start Menus.  I have used the  setup from the Palm CD and downloaded the setup from the Adobe site and neither one worked.
I spoke to Palm and they told me I need to discuss this with Adobe.  The Support Portal withdrew my question and referred me here.  Does anyone have a solution or work around for this?  I haven't seen anything on the web.

I was able to discover why my desktop was not installing.  Apparently the Install Shield is an old version.  I followed solutions I had found on Google to no avail.  What finally DID work was to install Acrobat Reader for Palm OS in safe mode for Windows XP.  I believe that Service Pack 3 of Windows was inhibiting the install.
I don't know how risky this is to do, but it worked.  Something like this may also work for Vista.  I don't know.

  • Centro desktop won't install over earlier palm desktop and can't un-install old version

The Centro CD won't install the Centro Access Palm desktop

Trouble is, I can't de-install Sony palm desktop. It is in c:\program

    allow revo to de-install it.
I tried just plugging in the Centro but windows could find usb drivers

So i'm a bit stuck. HELP!

    View Solution.

    That was the next step.
I just needed to know what the OS of the PC was and the version of Palm desktop so I could tell you where to look for the correct folders.
Here is some more info. for you.
Click on the following link for the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com webpage.
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/centro/centro_gsm/
There are links on the page to the user guide, troubleshooting, how to's, downloads, etc.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.
    http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=28734
Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

  • BB desktop won't INSTALL!!!!!

    HELP!?
    thanks a lot!

Okay folks this is the garanteed way to get Blackberry Desktop to  Install.
As others have mentioned make sure to delete all your temp files and in program files delete C:\program files\RIM or c:\program files X86\RIm (For Windows 64 Bit versions)  Also go into your profile:
XP: C:\documents and settings\(User Name)\ Local Settings\Application Settings and delete any files called "RIM" or "research in motion"  and also C:\Documents and settings\(Username)\Application Data\ any files named "RIM or Research in motion"
In Vista or Windows 7, look for c:\users\(username) App data\ Local, and app data\ Roaming again delete any instances of files named "RIM" or "Research in motion"
Also a good idea to run CCleaner or any registry cleaner you prefer.
Attempt to install Blackberry desktop again. If that STILL fails this for sure will work!
Go to control panel and create new user account with admin rights
Load up new profile, install blackberry while logged in as new user once installed, you can go back to your regular account and remove the temporary account using Control Panel/User Accounts.
Much blood sweat and tears went into finding this solution, if you would like to send me a small donation, please send to paypal for user allankhouriAThotmailDOTcom

  • My Installer won't Install anything!

    Hey!,
Say I download a program from the internet or even put a CD in and try to install a program, when i double click on the program to install it, the installer will open up and then it won't do anything else. I've tried restarting my computer like many times and tried different programs to install to make sure that it just wasn't that one. I don't know what to do! I can't install a program at all and it's not cool. When the installer pops up, I try to get it to show the log for the installation but when i do that, EVERYTIME the program will freeze up and quite. Does anyone have any idea or suggestions?!?!?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to Discussions:
First, insert your Install disk in the CD/DVD ROM drive. Shut down computer. Then hold down the "C" key while you hit the power button. Hold C until the gray Apple appears and the gear starts turning.
When booted, go to the Installer Menu and open Disk Utility. Select your Drive in the left panel and First Aid in the Main Panel. Run Repair Disk Permissions. When you are done with that run Repair Disk. If it reports problems, run again and again until no problems are reported. If DU reports that there are problems it cannot repair you may need Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior.
    Reboot computer and try installing.
Hope this helps. If not, post back.
    Good luck.

  • My mac won't install anything

I have Mac OS 10.6.5 and I have had several issues that I'll summarize briefly:
    - Could not download updates using software update.
    - When I managed to download the updates (from the website, manually) my mac was not able to install them.
    - It takes ages to start up, and 1/3 times finder does not respond, 1/3 times network won't work.
    - I cannot install anything, I tried reinstalling the mac OS 10.6.3 from the dvd received with the mac but did not work. Received an error message (probably because either the dvd drive or the mac hard drive do not work properly).
    - I cannot decompress downloaded folders.
    - I have tried the hardware problem scanning by pressing "d" (or whatever key was) at mac start up with the application dvd inserted, but got no hardware error messages.
    - Finally, I have a boot hard drive with windows 7 installed (that works perfectly fine), could that be a problem?

It's possible your hard disk is failing or is too full. Mac's need 10-15% of the total HD available. The easiest way to tallow much available space you have s to click your Hard Disk in a Finder wind then click Command - I. This will provide some basic information such as the capacity of the drive and how much is available.
If you have plenty of available space then open Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) highlight the HD on the left pane then click the First Aid tab. Look at the bottom right and see what the S.M.A.R.T. status is. It should be Verified, anything else and it's in trouble!
Also you can run Apple Hardware Test in extended mode, if you get back errors then report what they are and we will try to help you interpret them.

  • Boot Camp won't install anything less than Windows 7 ?

My grandson tried to install windows vista on a new (late 2012 ) IMac but he says boot camp told him he could not install anything less than windows 7. Anyone else had this problem ?

It's not a problem; the Boot Camp Assistant is working as it's designed to. If desired, run Windows Vista inside a program such as VirtualBox instead.

  • Application Installer keeps crashing, won't install anything!

I've been having a bunch of problems since upgrading to 10.5.2. I got a lot of things fixed, and the system is mostly stable, but one issue that remains is that I can't get any installer to run. Application Installer keeps crashing. (Unexpected Quit)
I tried a few receipts and they didn't work either. System Update seems to run fine and completes installs. I tried P-RAM reset, Safe Boot, Repair Permissions. One of the fixes to my other issues was Disk Warrior. (But having run it recently I doubt another lengthly pass will help.)
So I am a bit stuck. (And really missing my 3rd party mouse and it's much needed driver)

  • Macbooks won't install anything else after Snow Leopard upgrade

I have just upgraded an iMac and two MacBooks to Snow Leopard. The iMac is working fine, but both notebooks won't install any other software. The installation software, after agreeing with licenses and so on, does nothing after clicking the install button.
The same issue is happening in the two MacBooks. It is not possible even to install updates (SL 10.6.1, for example). Apple support had absolutely no idea of how to fix this.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I have just finished reinstalling Snow Leopard from the DVD (holding the "C" key while turning on the computer until the Apple symbol shows up). Now everything is working just fine. It is now running Mac OS 10.6.1.
    Thanks!

  • CC desktop won't install

Hi, I've tried several times to install the update to desktop CC. The install won't work, and when I click the desktop icon that doesn't work either, just tells me a new installation is available. All my other installs worked, what could be wrong with this one? I'm going around in circles..

    Hi steve.mose,
To take advantage of all the great features in the new Creative Cloud desktop apps, customers should upgrade to a newer version of Mac OS X. Some of the new CC apps do not support v10.6 and will not install. Minimum system requirements for each Creative Cloud app can be found on the tech specs page on Adobe.com.
Note that if you are on Mac OS X v10.6, you will have to install products that are compatible with v10.6 via Adobe Application Manager.
The following Creative Cloud apps support Mac OS X v10.6.8 and later:
    Extension Manager
    Illustrator
    InCopy®
    InDesign
    Adobe Muse™
Products not listed here are not supported on Mac OS X v10.6.
Adobe has performed limited testing on other Creative Cloud desktop apps on Mac OS X v10.6, but these apps are expected to have issues with features and functionality.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop Won't Install Issues on Mac OS X 10.8.4

I recently upgraded from CS6 to CC.  First round of installs no problem.  A week later there were a few updates including the CC Destop App and this is where the fun begins.   I installed the updates and immediately after I noticed it was only showing I had 3 apps installed when I have several.  I tried uninstalling the CC Desktop app and re-installing it but I can't get it to install.  Every time I try it just says you have an "unknown error".  I called Adobe's awesome support to which we ran throught diganostics only at the end to tell me they are having issues and to call back later.  I have been all over the forums and have yet to find a solution, nothing works (Including runing the cloud cleaner and renaming the OOBE file).
I am running OS X 10.8.4 any other suggestions or help will be much appreciated

Romsinha! Thank you! I was having this problem and your instructions helped solve the issue.
    Hi iChrisChatt,
    Please try the mentioned steps:
    1. Navigate to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installer and look for CC desktop, if present run the uninstaller to uninstall it.
    2. Navigate to Applications/Utilities and look for Adobe Application Manager folder and Creative cloud folder. If present move to trash and empty it.
    3. Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
    4. Download CC desktop from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and try to install again.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't install anything!

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?
    -Sean
iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    OS X 10.7.3

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

  • Boot camp won't install anything?

I've had my mini along with others running XP for a few years and have even installed windows 7 rc version as a beta tester and never had a problem till today. I had reinstalled XP after the test version of win 7 expired everything was fine, that was about 4 months ago. today I was trying to install a 30 day windows 7 32 bit version and after I partioned and hit the install button it would shut off come back on and then shut off again with no way to get back up until I held down the mouse to eject the install disk, while doing a manual restart with the power button. I even tried to reinstall XP and had the same result. My question is , does this have anything to do with 64 bit versus 32 bit or is something else wrong? Did the lastest update change something? I was thinking I would reinstall the disk that came with it to get as it first came out and then try to install windows before updating. any ideas would be appreciated ,thanks

It's not a problem; the Boot Camp Assistant is working as it's designed to. If desired, run Windows Vista inside a program such as VirtualBox instead.
