I have tryd fixing the problems, and have consulted with the experts, but they say I should sent these mb. to warranty..

  • H61M-E33 and AHCI

    Hello,
I recently grabbed one of the MSi H61M-E33 mainboards from the Microcenter deal a few days back.  Despite the information I see online, and in the board's user manual, it doesn't appear to have AHCI support.  Does anyone know if MSi is looking into this?  I gave them a call, but they just had me update the BIOS, which did nothing.
In UEFI, it even describes each of the settings like AHCI was supposed to be an option, but it's just not there.  It doesn't look like I'm alone, either.  I see a couple mentions of this around the internet, but I didn't see anything here so I thought I'd ask.
    Thanks!

Might be some information concerning that in this thread; https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=146755.0
Interesting.  I didn't see that thread because it's on a different board.  So two of MSi's H61 boards are exhibiting this problem.  I do see they share the same firmware, and looking around online there are rumors that H61MU-E35 has a UEFI update on the way to fix the issue.
    Hopefully this gets corrected soon.

  • H61MU-E35 (B3) Updating BIOS....File Not Found Error

I have MSI H61MU-E35 (B3) Motherboard with Intel i3 CPU.
I downloaded latest BIOS File  7680vC3.zip (on web page it's says Version: 12.3 from  -> -www.msi.com/support/mb/H61MUE35_B3.html#down-bios
Using Windows XP OS  From 7680vC3.zip => Extracted E7680vC3.exe  => Placed on USB Drive (I did not format USB Pendrive, and used by just making it empty by deleting files) ==>  Ran this exe file on the computer where this motherboard is....
Inside Windows XP, when BIOS Update process started, In a green window, it shown me current BIOS old version and  New Version side by side.  (I did not given much attention to notedown from which number to which number it's updating).
In Windows XP after BIOS Process completed, it restarted computer (I kept USB File as it in the computer as I had read that, I have to keep USB in computer after restart).
When computer restarted...nothing came on the screen and just blank screen for long time and on the right side on screen bottom corner only letter like: A2 stayed for long long time.  I waited for 15 minutes but nothing was happening except blank screen...
So, I restarted computer....and kept USB as it is in the computer....but Nothing comes on the screen...
After I concluded that, something is wrong, to resolve the issue...
--- What Try and Experiments I have done  ----------------------------------------------------------------
    (1) I placed Restarted computer without USB: and Message comes on the screen is:
BIOS Update is not yet completed, please insert the USB pen drive  and reset system.
    (2) I refered some forums, and also contacted MSI Support. As suggested, I formatted USB Drive with FAT32 and placed  E7680IMS.C30  file (only one file) on USB placed in computer and started computer.. Now Message is coming:
    Updating BIOS...... File Not Found..
Note that: E7680IMS.C30  File was given to me by MSI Support Staff as I did not kept Original files during formatting USB PenDrive.
But computer is not looking for .C30 Rom File, Computer is looking for .BIN File
    (3) I have remove the battery and waited for 5 min. and placed again, to reset BIOS, but not difference on result or on message...
    Renamed: file E7680IMS.C30 to EIVB.BIN
Result: Just Blank Screen with A2 text on right side bottom corner, No other message
In some other same issue post, they recommand to change ROM File name to: EIVB.BIN which worked for others, so I also tried and renamed: file E7680IMS.C30 to EIVB.BIN, in this case, I was able recreate original Issue:  When computer boots, Screen stays completely Blank, and on the right side bottom corner, only 2 digit tect comes is: A2. Computer does not give any other message and nothing happens...even I waited for 30 minutes...
Also, by looking at USB Pendrive light, I can tell that, motherboard is reading file on the Pen Drive...
    Renamed: file E7680IMS.C30 to E7680IMS.BIN
Result: Message comes on the screen: Updating BIOS...... File Not Found..
    (5) What I am thinking is:  When motherboard power-ups, it's giving me two different type of Valid message based on if USB is in the computer or not, based on if file name is .BIN or not, so I believe motherboard is still not dead and there are hope to feed the file which motherboard is looking for. But issue how to find what specific file which it's looking for... Even sometime I have seen at screen right side bottom area, 2 Digit numbers are changing just like system is doing internal healthcheck before booting up...
    (6) Note that, I would like to put old version file on USB to feed, but one of the biggest issue with MSI is, once you download EXE from their website, to Extract EXE file content it needs to be run on the same motherboard computer, so in my case, if your motherboard is not in bootable cituation then you can not extract any other BIOS File to try...
Please help me...by havin this computer down....I am suffering everyday...
(By profession, I am electronics Engineer and have worked with programming Microcontroller and bootloaders, but in this case, I do not have SPI Programmer to program BIOS chip externally.)

    Thank you flobelix  and Nichrome.
Quick Result Summary:  128MB USB Key formatted FAT32 with HP Tool, made MS-Dos Bootable and placed EIVB.BIN file given by  flobelix, but final result is: Screen comes Blank and only shows "A0" Code at right side bottom corner. nothing else.
    Detail
Since Flobelix proviced ROM BIN File, I was too exicited to try it out and here is what I did...
    (1) As per Nichrome link for HP USB Format Tool, I installed it on "Win XP" machine, and formatted 128MB USB key by selecting "FAT32" and selected option to make "MS-DOS Bootable" and shown Win98 source files as per the instruction.
-128MB USB drive made bootable with FAT32.
    (2) I downloaded EIVB.rar given by flobelix and extracted and copied EIVB.BIN file on USB root.
Inserted USB in MSI and powered up...
As soon as I give power:  Imidiately one normal beep and Screen comes completly Dark Blank. No message about "File not found".  only at right side bottom of screen, it shows "A0".
I inserted USB key in each and every USB slot, but result is same: Screen stays Blank and on right side corner only "A0" letter.
I given around 3-5 minutes time to see something changes on screen, but no change.
    - If I power-up computer without connecting any USB Drive: then message comes on screen that: Bios Update has not completed, please insert USB Key and Reset System.
    - On USB Key, If I put ROM File with any other name (except EIVB.BIN) then Message comes:  Updating BIOS... File Not Found...
    - I have removed battery to give a try for resetting BIOS, but not change.
    Question:
    (1) Is it possible that, motherboard is looking for specific version of File or some different version of file ? and just staying silent and not complaining for existing EIVB.BIN ?
Here is I experiment:  I simply created empty text file (0 Byte) on USB Drive and given name EIVB.BIN  and booted up computer and same result: Blank Screen and just "A0" on right side bottom corner.
So, it tells me that, when power is given, the program which executes in motherboard for BIOS, it is not able to identify real or fake EIVB.BIN.  I think, it's looking for some specific file and when not found, it's getting confuse on what to do....and not saying anything on the screen....
Has anyone old version BIN file of H61MU-E35 (B3)  ?
Is there any trick so I can download older version Packaged EXE from MSI website and extract it ? I can give a try....

  • H61MU-E35(B3) - Beeps Code issue

    Hello Everybody!
I've got a problem with my MSi H61MU-E35(B3) Motherboard. The board has been purchased in June 2011 and in the beginning it seemed not giving any problems.
Now, i've got that problem: if i keep my system off about more than 4 or 5 days, the speaker beeps 3 times shortly. I can solve this issue only changing some options like unplug and replug SATA devices or removing and reinstalling CPU or RAM, otherwise clearing CMOS.
How could i solve this issue? This system isn't mine and the owner couldn't always bring me it back for reset.
    Thanks for help!

When you say 'off' do you mean powered off or in a standby/hibernate mode?
When i powered on the system, it was in hibernate mode. Could it cause this issue?
He also tells me that when he left it off, he unplugged the AC Power from the PSU.

  • H61MU-E35 issues?

    Hi there,
I am having some issues with my MSI based Sandy Bridge system. I have the H61MU-E35 mainboard with the I3-2100 cpu. Today the system won't boot, it hangs some time a post code A2, then it shows the MSI bootscreen and then i goes black. I can enter the bios, but there are my bootdisk (SSD Vertex 2 60GB) and one storage disk (Samsung Spinpoint F4 2TB hdd) missing. I only my 1,5TB Samsung Spinpoint F2 disk and the optical disk (as well Samsung).
The other day (twoo weeks ago or so) i had a bsod while booting: 0x00000074 bad_system_config_info. I had to reinstall Windows, that helped it till today. But now there's a problem again and I don't know how to analyse it this time. Can someone think with me here? Thanks a bunch!
    My system is:
    Core i3 2100
    H61MU-E35
    Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3-1333 CL9 kit
Be Quiet Pure Power L7 300W
    OCZ Vertex 2 Extended 60GB
    Samsung Spinpoint F2 EcoGreen 1.5TB
    Samsung Spinpoint F4 EcoGreen 2TB

I shall leave the OZC Vertex comments to people that have had experience with them. Can you confirm that your machine is stable when these OZC SSD are disconnected ? If so, then you know where to start in terms of potential hardware incompatability. Have you checked the OZC forum for any similar experiences and/or fixes ?
Searching for problems on Vertex drives, the net seems to be full of reported issues.
btw, did you use IDE or AHCI mode on initial installation. The recommendation is AHCI for SSDs.

  • H61MU-E35 hibernation issue

I can't get this board to wake-up from hibernation (S4) properly.
Exactly every third time going out of hibernation the system halts before the MSI-logo just showing "A3" in the corner. (I have tried going in and out of hibernation approx. 20 times in a row and every third time the system halts.)
Going in and out of Standby (S3) works OK.
    Shouldn't this board support hibernation?

  • H61M-E33 B3 - which BIOS version for i5-3570?

    Hi
My motherboard is MSI H61M-E33 B3,  I was using i3-2100 CPU, but a friend gave me his old i5-3750,  which is far better. I updated my BIOS with Live Update before I swapped CPU's but I guess that my BIOS version is still wrong for this i5, because when I try to run my PC, it beeps 4 times and reset. So my question is, what is exact BIOS version I need for this CPU to work, and where can I download it? I would be really thankful for any help

Quote from: HenryW on 18-February-15, 08:03:41
Does it still work with the 13-2100? Did you clear CMOS after BIOS update?
Yes, and yes. Works perfectly with i3, and I've cleared CMOS, but it didn't help.
Quote from: Chike on 18-February-15, 08:06:21
Go to MB support page and check the compatibility list.
    for the last 2 digits/letters, A=10, B=11, C=12 etc, so A2 will be 10.2
The problem is, on this page - http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H61ME33_B3.html#hero-overview - On the compatibility tab, my i5 is labeled as "7680vC0.zip" - so i guess BIOS version 12.0 - but on the downloads tab, I see only BIOS 12.3 and 12.2, and the next older one is 10.E :/ Should I download this 12.2 or 12.3 versions?
When I use my Live Update 6 program, with i3 CPU mounted, it tells me that my BIOS version is A.E0 and it is the latest one, and no need to update.
    I'm really, really confused :P

  • MSI H61M-E33(B3) updating bios.........file not found

    Hi,
I tried to update the bios MSI H61M-E33(B3) from 10.D to 12.2. After rebooting, i got the message "BIOS Update: ... file not found".
There is something wrong, what could it be?
The following files are on an usb-Stick:
    - 7680vC2.exe (Windows-Installer)
    - EIVB.bin (MD5: 55a1af369b1db5b180a432a8fa5c7178 )
    - IM9T318R (empty directory)
If the stick is missing, i got the message that the bios-update is not finished yet.

    If that doesn't work:
    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
Download the attached archive to your desktop(of any computer)
    Install the forum update tool
Use option 1 of the tool and point it at the entire archive.
It will prepare the flash tool to flash, I am not sure if you are getting far enough to use this, perhap try a full cmos clear as well.
If none of these solutions will work, you will need that spi programmer.

  • H61M-E33 (B3) BIOS update?

    Hi guys,
I've just got hold of a GTX760 graphics card, but having a spot of bother with the fan not powering up as it should--it's been tried in another system and all is well so it's been suggested that I need a BIOS update for my own machine.
Is this correct, and if so which one?
    System comprises of:
    H61M-E33 motherboard
    i5-2500K CPU
8 GB Kingston value RAM, 1333MHz (2x4GB modules as a pair)
    850W XFX PSU
Thanks in advance for any help!

Sorry for the delay in replying chaps, things went a bit haywire at work.
Thanks for the BIOS link and instructions Svet; this updated well but unfortunately didn't resolve the issue--which now seems to NOT be a BIOS one anyway!
Chika; the problem is/was that the fan on the graphics card would only 'kick in' (if at all) when the card was already too hot, resulting in the system freezing. A friend from a few houses away offered to test the card in his system, I know he has a 970GPU but not what the CPU etc is, but his testing was actually flawed as I'd given him the impression that I could get no output at all from the card. All he did was try it, saw a decent image on his screen and concluded that the card was OK and that it could need the motherboard BIOS updating as he'd had to do this on his machine.
The cooling afforded by my case seems to have been sufficient to keep the temperatures within the safe zone for *normal* uses, but not for anything such as playing a game to put the card under stress.
Whilst all this was happening I'd contacted the cards manufacturer who replied saying that it shouldn't need a BIOS revision and that the card itself was most likely faulty and started the RMA procedure.
So, thanks for all the help and sorry for leading you off on the wrong track.

  • H61M-E33 (B3) BIOS supported HD size?

How large of an HD does the BIOS of H61M-E33 recognize? I put in a 3 TB drive and am trying to run SpinRite on it but the motherboard might not be recognizing all 3 TB, unfortunately.
There is no POST screen that I can find nor is the drive size shown in the BIOS setup screen.
    Thank you!

Then the board is bricked. If still under warranty rma it otherwise recovering with an SPI flash programmer is required by a pc shop or MSI (to be paid of course).

  • H61M-E33 (B3) BIOS 12.1 Help Please

    Hello,
I am having the "file not found" bios update issue.
I tried the solution found on the forum as indicated by Svet but I have lost the original Bios Files that were extracted during the update.
If anyone is willing to help me and has a similar Motherboard i will post the instructions:
    1) Download the 7680vC1.zip archive from http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/H61M-E33--B3-.html#/?div=BIOS
    2) Extract it to an clean USB stick
    3) Run it but DO NOT continue the instalation, dont close it either.
    4) Acces the USB stick with explorer and copy all its content to an outside folder
    5) Cancel the update.
Now all i need is that folder. Unfortunately I can't do the above myself, as the current computer doesn't have an msi compatible board and the application refuses to run.
Note: When the file 7680vC1.exe is runned, a temp folder is created on the stick. That folder is deleted after the update procedure is aborted.
Or any ideas on how to bypass motherboard check?

Why do/did you want to flash the BIOS ? Did you purchase an Ivy CPU with this board ? If so, then you firstly need a supported SB CPU to be able to flash.
