H77MA-G43 Super Charger Feature

Hello,
My H77MA-G43 has a super charger feature but I could not find enough information on how to use it.
I tried it on the rear USB ports but it doesn't work. FAQ says it only works on red USB ports but my mobo doesn't have any red USB. The manual says nothing about the super charger feature either. I'm looking forward to some guidance from this forum.
Kind regards,
Kamil

acording to everything about that board it doesn't support super charger! where did you hear it does?

  • Super Charger on P67A-G45 mb, windows 7 64-bit -- how do I get it to work?

    Hi there,
I'm not sure how to get this super charger feature to work.  MSI update utility downloaded and installed the super charger utility
    First question:
The description for the motherboard on the MSI website says it has "i-charger" (not "super charger").  Is the "super charger" software the right thing to have on my computer?
I understand it works with only some usb ports, not all.  I've seen people say it goes in the red header.  Others mention the JUSB1 header.  My motherboard doesn't have any red headers, and JUSB1 is hooked up to two USB ports in the front of the computer case.
It looks like the super charger software runs automatically on startup.  When I try to open it by hand I just get a little message saying it is already running.  But I don't get any window, or interface, or even a task bar notification icon.  So how do I bring up any options associated with super charger (to enable / disable).
Nothing pops up when I hook up my smartphone (droid x).  It charges, but I can't tell if super charger is enabled.  If I put the computer to sleep, and then plug in the phone, it doesn't start charging.
So... the other questions  would be:
How are you supposed to use this super-charger utility?
Am I using the right USB ports?
How do I get this thing to charge my phone when the computer is sleeping, or off?
    Thanks!
    David

As far as I know Supercharger is only for MB's that have a red USB header on it. Example in picture below. That header has circuitry designed for the 1500ma (1.5A) current draw of devices that charge at that rate. I believe the I-charger circuitry of standard USB header is limited to 1200ma (1.2A).

  • Super-charger. True or false?

Hello. I bought the Z77A-G41 which comes with the super-charger feature. Well, I followed the instructions on this site (service.msicomputer.com/html/popup/techsup/formviewer.asp?esoformid=3030), but that´s not how my computer behaved. When I double click the shortcut, it says that super charger is already running :S .  So I tried closing process and even stoping services to then open the shortcut again. What happened? Nothing!
I´m trying to understande if this super charger thing is for real of just to make people wanna buy the board. How can I shut up my skeptical paranoid side?

    False..False..False ..

Does this motherboard support the Super Charger feature?  Live Update prompts me to download the software for this.  If the motherboard *does* support it, how do I take advantage of it?
    Thanks!

  • H77MA-G43 Failed BIOS Upgrade, Now BIOS Corrupted

    PC Specs:
Intel Core i7 3770 Ivy Bridge
    2X Kingston RAM Modules 4GB 1600Mhz
    MSI H77MA-G43 Mainboard
    NVIDIA GeForce GT240 Video Card
    Hello everyone:
So, i've been searching for a solution everywhere, for quite a while now, and nothing... ergo this Forum Topic,
    My Situation went like this:
    1. Clean Install of Windows 8 x64, in UEFI Mode
    2. LiveUpdate Tool installed
    3. BIOS upgrade went in progress, part of the LiveUpdate automatic update
    4. Accidentally confirmed the upgrade, while i was doing other things (i know, feel so stupid)
    5. BIOS upgrade tool, erases BIOS 100% for Re-write it (Check )
    6. BIOS upgrade tool starts to write the new firmware and BOOM Blue Screen of Dead in the middle of the process [NVIDIA DLL related issue]
    7. Reboot computer
    8. Now the board, is gracefully useless. Dead. No startup of nothing.
So, i understand that the BIOS is corrupted, i read in my Mainboard's feature page that it's possible to overwrite the BIOS from an USB Drive, but requires that the old BIOS start and boot from the USB Drive, so what should i do? i mean, i really don't have to post any problem almost ever, but this it's way out of my line of knowledge, so kindly i ask for someone help.
PS: i'm not so Dummy when it comes to computers. but for this treat me like one, so i understand really well how to solve this, because i really. don't want to buy another mainboard,
Thank you all in advance, i apreciate what comunities do for dummies like me...
    Regards to you again.

i've been reading the last thread, been trying to do it with a usb stick... but i really don't know the thing with CTRL+HOME, it presses after computer start?, once? keep pressing?, multiple times?, that kind of things are not specified on the guide, my Bios file is about 8MB, so i guess it takes its time... without the screen feedback is so frustrating.... i can't found a specific guide for this boards, all of this is try and hope... there should be information more specific... i mean, should i contact MSI Tech support? you think, they would be helpful?
It was long time ago i cant remember how the process went. Did you also tried with the original drivers CD as i suggested before?
Yes is better you contact MSI support, in the meantime just get to a store to see if they have the tools to flash it.

  • Why is Super Charger on the list of software for Z87-G45?

The Z87-G45 doesn't support Super Charger why is that software in the package of utilities, on the disk, the website? Also Live Update suggests to download it (I understand Live Update is hardly supported by MSI) more importantly why is the software in the package on the website, and the disk that comes with the board?
When I contacted MSI directly it was practically a debate whether or not the Z87-G45 officially supports Super Charged or not. The conclusion was: if there is no red USB FP header on the board it does not support Super Charger. Obviously the Z87-G45 does not have the red USB header.
Not to be repetitive but I had to do some digging to figure out if Z87-G45 even supported Super Charger, it might suite MSI to remove the package from the official webpage of the board, Live Update, and the utility disk that the board comes with wouldn't it?

I had to install Super Charger for my ipad to charge on USB3 port. but no port will charge when my Win7 machine is shutdown or sleep.
I am quite annoyed since my old Gigabyte board can charge even when the machine is power off. Its a standard feature for Gigabyte boards. I miss this feature.

  • MSI H77MA-G43 AND INTEL 2ND GEN

    Hello,
i have made a budget pc for a friend with the following config:
    MSI H77MA-G43
    INTEL I5 2400
    MSI GTX 550 TI
I have installed all the drivers but i can´t get any audio or ethernet. I've read about this and i come to a conclusion that might be some problems of compatibility between h77 chipsets and 2nd generation intel processors, since h77 chipsets ware made for 3rd gen. processors.
I've already change bios, installed the latest drivers and updates the chipset controller, but nothing. Anyone can help me or do i have to change the board for a P67 chipset???
    Thanks in advance,

The board runs fine with an i5-2400 and bios 1.70:
    http://www.msi.com/service/download/bios-19052.html
Audio is already working with default Windows driver.
Make sure you've selected your speakers in the Playback Devices menu in Windows. It might use the VGA audio at the moment.
LAN is running fine with the Realtek driver: http://www.msi.com/service/download/driver-2697.html
What ME version is the board running on? You can check that in the Settings->System Status menu.

  • H77MA-G43 with Highpoint Rocketraid 640 - Not posting

    Hi All,
I recently brought a H77MA-G43 and built a system running VMware ESXi which runs fine. However when I try to add a Highpoint Rocketraid 640 which works on my main PC (Asus M/B) the system wont post. I've tried numerous variations of the Bios settings for the Highpoint card but cannot find anything on the H77MA-G43 bios which would get the card working.
I have put a HP P212 Raid card on the mainboard which works fine (except for VMdirectpath I/O (works but the VM's don't see the HP card properly, I can troubleshoot this myself)) but I really do need the Highpoint functioning for the additional SATA 6Gbs ports.
A previous bios (v1.3) included support for the Rocket 620X1 Gen2 card so I thought an update to the latest bios 1.4 would help but it did not.
Does anyone have any experience or ideas on troubleshooting this sort of problem or how I go about requesting this issue to be resolved or added to a future Bios?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    I've got similar MB (Z77) and P212
but Raid is not working - i see the P212 initialization during boot and nowhere else - windows, linux, ESXi. (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=161815.0)
Don't think this is a RAM or HDD problem...
    What Cpu do you use?
    Hi Andyrus,
I was planning to update this forum on my ESXi antics on my motherboard and good thing I did otherwise I would never had replied.
The CPU I have is a i5 3550, my HP P212 has a cache module but no BBWC. 16GB RAM installed (I'm at work so I cant check the brand).
    http://ark.intel.com/products/65516/Intel-Core-i5-3550-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz
ESXi detects it under storage controllers and I could use it without issue. I always had arrays configured when booting, do you?
I would try the 'How To Contact MSI' link in this thread to contact MSI, they turned around a beta bios very quickly (be warned the English isn't great but they are helpful).

  • H77MA-G43 BLUE SCREEN in XP Pro

    Today I did build a computer to a customer, I used H77MA-G43 and Intel Core i3 2100 3,1Ghz, 4Gb corsair 1333Mhz memory.
When trying to install XP Professional on the new WD Blue-500G-drive I recieve bluescreen of death before the installation starts where Im able to format the drive and continue the XP-install.
I know XP is OLD but the customer did not want to buy WIN7 at this stage.
Tried with WIN7-install and it continues to the format-drive part (ie works fine), I did not continue there...

hi, have you solved the problem? I'm too interested to know more about your problem (I'm searching an m-atx board for a win xp installation).Let's hope someone will reply, in any case please if you find a solution please report if you understand what the problem was.
    many thanks
Not solved at this time, (will try IDE-mode on the drive).
Try H67-chipset instead when looking for matx-board...

  • Seeking another pair of eyes - MSI H77MA-G43 + i5 2500K

    Hello everyone,
I have read the CPU compatibility sticky and I think I have come to a conclusion but I wanted to run it past a larger group.
I have a MSI H77MA-G43 that won't POST (sits in a power cycle "infinite loop") and I *believe* it is possible my MSI H77MA-G43 has a BIOS that is not compatible with my i5 2500K CPU.
Using the CPU Compatibility checker for my motherboard (tried to post the link - cant) - I can see that 2500Ks with D2 stepping are supported on BIOS version 7756v10.
    Core i5   Sandy Bridge   i5-2500K   100   3.30   1M   6M   D2   95      7756v10.zip
So - I believe my issue may be I have an older motherboard BIOS and if I could find a spare CPU that will boot it - I could boot the BIOS and flash to upgrade it.
Does anyone have an opinions if that seems sane or not?
    Thank you,
    -A-

    Dear XFM and flobelix,
Edit: I finally read it correctly Flobelix - there is no version NOT supporting :-) -- Good news!!
XFM - I'm not home right now but I will post more detailed information. For troubleshooting purposes I only have RAM (single stick or dual stick tried both) and a Geforce Ti560 video card installed.
I'm running the system outside of a case and I've tried replacing the power supply with another one - and same behavior EXCEPT there are now 3 "medium" duration beeps that occur as the system cycles on and off power.
Edit: Nevermind - symptoms exactly the same. 3 Beeps was clearly memory - I didn't have the memory seated well when I did my single channel test. Checked memory seating VERY carefully and now (with new power supply) have the identical issue.
Edit Again: My old motherboard has 2 x4pin 12V ATX connectors and the "big" ATX connector with its additional little "4pin" add on. The new motherboard has the big connector (duh + 4pin) but it only has 1x4pin 12V ATX connectors....
Any chance this has something to do with it?
Tonight I re-thermal pasted my CPU hoping it was some kind of thermal shutdown issue...no change. Still endlessly loops - I'm going to let it sit for 30minutes endlessly looping and see if anything changes.
    Thank you,
    -A-

  • How to disable Windows 7 warning on Super-charger.exe?

    Hi,
I buy a computer from ZT systems. The CPU is: AMD Quad-Core A8-3850 Accelerated Processor, Video graphics is:Radeon™ HD 6550D processor-integrated graphics (Dual monitor capable). From the CD-rom I know the motherboard is from MSI. I reinstall Windows 7 in order to have dual boot capability. I find that every time the computer boots, it asks whether run Super-charger.exe for security. I have check it is safe from "Program Files(x86)\MSI\Super-Charger.exe security property dialogue box (SYSTEM: Full control, Modify, Read & Execute, Read, Write). It still asks every time it boots.
Could you tell me how to disable Windows 7 asks about Super-Charger security?
    Thanks

In Bios possibly check your boot order? 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.
I don't see any help from boot order.
BTW, How can I know the motherboard model? I bought this computer from Costco. The information I have is: ZT Affinity 7150Ma Desktop PC. I do not find further info from ZT Systems Inc. website.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Specification say:

    Super Charger
Mobile consumer appliances are getting more and more attention in current day fast moving life style, with smart phones and tablets almost becoming a fashion accessory. However, many ordinary personal computers cannot charge some of these devices, making it difficult to stay connected. The MSI Super Charger is a Windows resident program capable of revising the power supply mode of your USB port to become more powerful. Once your phone or tablet is connected to your USB port, the Super Charger sends a signal to initiate its charging circuit, making it a really smart and convenient charging solution for mobile computing needs.
Note: Only front red USB ports support charger function after system off

I might be blind, but I don't see any red USB header on the motherboard  I suggest you ask MSI, as for me it sounds as a mistake on the specification on the website.
Can you check your motherboard box if it says anything about it?
Apparently you should use red USB header, however: plug your case USB 2.0 header to motherboard's header and turn your PC off (just through Windows without switching power supply off) and plug your phone (USB) to case's USB that is connected to motherboard header. If it doesn't work, try the second USB 2.0 header on motherboard. Also make sure you have Utility "Super Charger" installed, available here: http://download.msi.com/uti_exe/SuperCharger_mb.zip

  • Random resets H77MA-G43

    Hello,
I build a PC two months ago with the components listed below with Windows 7 64 bit. It worked perfect for two months. Now I get random resets. No BSOD or anything, just a reset. After a reset I have to select to Start Windows Normally. I did not change any software or hardware.
    MSI H77MA-G43
    Intel Core i5 3350P
    Corsair Vengeance LP CML8GX3M2A1600C9
    Sapphire HD 4850 512MB
    Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2
    Corsair Builder CX600 Bronze
    Fractal Design Define Mini
I have tried the following to solve the problem.
    Update the BIOS to V1.11.
Install new Windows, formatted the SSD.
Run tests with IntelBurnTest, passed it.
Checked every cable in the case, all fine.
Removed the reset cable from JFP1 on the motherboard.
    Clear CMOS.
Measure temps: 30 when idle, 50 when using IntelBurnTest.
I think it is the motherboard or PSU, but I am not sure. So what should I do?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be the PSU. Solved.
Thanks for reporting!    Corsair PSU's are usually extremely reliable. I hope this isn't a trend of a cheapening of their quality.

  • H77MA-G43. Cannot Enter Setup

    My system:
    MSI H77MA-G43
    Core i7 3770K
    Sandisk Extreme 120 SSD
    Crucial XMP DDR3 2000 RAM
    Nvidia GTX 460 video card
After installing the processor and RAM I attempted to enter BIOS setup. After hitting DEL the setup screen started to load then the system locked hard, had to power off and on again. Removed video card and all but one RAM stick; no change. Using a bootable thumbdrive I flashed the BIOS with 7756v1C.zip, now the system doesn't freeze, it reboots.
I need to get into BIOS so I can set up my video card. At them moment I can only use the onboard video card. The system runs fine, no issues, just can't enter BIOS setup.

check the socket pins under the CPU as it should automatically switch to PCI-E video card and your symptoms sound like the pins are bent under the CPU (random reboot and failure to access BIOS) and are not making appropriate contact!
also what PSU do you have?
