Hacked iPad - security question

Someone hacked into my PayPal account and then got into my "verified" bank account taking out $2000 to but a MBP. PayPal will  not (at this point) honor their security guarantee, won't give me information regarding the hack and all they said to me was "it was a tablet from your IP address. Call your provider and ask them to change your IP address" -- My IP address is dynamic -- it's changing all the time from the little I know.
How can someone get into my iPad when it does not leave my sight? It is pass code protected (changed again after the incident).
Also and maybe unrelated, someone has been remotely logging into my iMac. I caught them. shut down the WiFi - the only connection to the internet is WiFi via Apple router and airport extreme - change those pass codes as well after catching the intruder in the act. Apparently they have been "watching" me with my camera on at random times during the day.
Can these be related?
Did I resolve the issue by changing all my related passwords?
Any thoughts are appreciated - Thank you.

Sorry if you've already said this - I couldn't find it in the posts - can you be more specific about how the remote login had been set up?
It sounds like (although this is a guess) you had Screen Sharing turned on in System Preferences; your Mac had a fixed local IP address; your router had port-forwarding configured to send remote traffic on a sharing port (possibly 5900, which is the default port for the VNC service); and then you had a dynamic IP service set up to translate your dynamic IP address into a fixed domain name such as myremotemac.dyn.org.
This is a fairly common setup, but has a couple of problems. Port 5900, because it's so well-known, is something that a hacker from outside would scan your router for, and in your case, find an open tunnel to your Mac. They would then only need your Mac's login password (which may have been guessable) to control your computer. It also doesn't involve any encryption of traffic.
It's worth checking your router configuration to see if there's a port forwarding rule still there. You may want to disable it until you've found a more secure login solution.
iCloud includes "Back to My Mac" which doesn't require a fixed tunnel, instead using a feature called uPnP (or, if you have an Airport router, NAT-PMP) to dynamically get access to the local network. It relies on your iCloud login. All traffic is also encrypted.

  • Ipad - Security Question

Hi, My name is Mr McGarrity and i have an apple ipad. I have forgotten the security question answeres and I have tried the reset link so that it emails a reset link to my alternate email but this is not possible for me as the email apple want to send the info on how to reset my answeres is now not valid and I cant access it.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • APPLE ID HACKED - CHANGED SECURITY QUESTIONS

How can you reset your security questions, after the Apple Database has been hacked. Received message that security questions were changed. Check all my apple devices, not one them was online during the period when the questions were changed. THE APPLE ID database was hacked. I NEED MY ACCOUNT RESET - I CANNOT CHANGE QUESTIONS AS THEY ARE NOT THE ONES I WOULD USE AND HAVE NO ANSWERS.

Happened to me to, they changed my password then changed my USER ID.  Called Apple Security and they could find my account by my name finally but couldn't reset the user name or password because I couldn't tell them the security questions, USER ID or password, regardless of the fact I could tell them everything else on the account, my credit card number, home address etc.  After 2 hours on the phone I got one security guy that was nice and gave me the uSER ID, something based out of China, with that we reset the password and I changed it back to my old USER ID.
Just this past weekend I got 3 emails from Apple wanting to reset my password, well I didn't generate that. This morning I get another email from Apple all in Chinese characters so now I know something is up, I had NEVER responded to any of the phishing emails on the weekend either. By the time I got to my computer they had already changed my password but not user name YET! I very quickly changed the USER ID, password and security questions myself. I have also now changed my actual email password in the hopes this will stop whoever this CHINESE RETARD is that is continuously trying to steal y Apple account.  Funny thing was when he got it the first time he didn't steal the balance from an iTunes gift card that was still in my account.
Be ware of those phishing emails and use them as an alert that something is going on with your Apple account!!!
Anyone have any other ideas to try and stop them from getting my ID again!!!  Gotta give him A for effort on taking it!!!

  • I have a catch 22 situation. My Apple ID is set up but I forgot my password when I ask for an email link it never arrives. I think my account has been hacked, my security questions, the answers say they are wrong. I want to delete it, can't without passwo

Continued..my security answers have been changed, I think ID hacked, email and sec answers changed. How do I delete it? By the way it is not this ID, I had to set up a new one to use this site....

Did he have find my iPhone enabled under that iCloud account?  If so, add the account back to his phone.  Then in the iCloud account settings, disable find my iPhone first (you will be prompted for your password), then remove the account.
Now you can create or add a new iCloud account to it using his own AppleID.
Alternatively, you could log in to your www.icloud.com account in a web browser.  Using the find my iPhone app there, remove his iPhone from your list of associated devices (he will have to power his iPhone off for you to do that).
After his iPhone is set up for his own iCloud account, on your iPhone, go to
settings->iCoud->Storage & Backup->Manage Storage and delete his iPhone's backup file to make more room on your own iCloud storage account.

When I try to setup my new iPad air, I go through all the steps for the iCloud sign-in and choosing security questions and what not. But after I hit the agree to the terms and conditions... It says Apple ID could not be created because of a server error. Have no clue what to do... I've restarted the iPad and get the same message. But my internet works just fine.

    1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
    2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

I am being prompted to enter security questions when making a purchase on my new IPad.  I don't believe I have ever setup security questions on my apple id.  I have tried logging into my apple id and have chosen the security and priviacy settings to set up security questions.  However I am prompted to enter answers to security questions and am told they don't match.  How to I create new security questions or reset them?

  • Icloud is synched to the wrong apple ID and the password was unknown to me, after answering the security questions I was able to reset it. Now when I try to login on my ipad to delete the icloud associated to that apple ID it keeps telling me its wrong?

I bought a new Ipad and backup all my info form ym old one to my itunes. I set it up but now for soem reason by icloud on my new ipad is set up an old apple ID account I have never used. After answering security questions I was able to reset my password but when i try to use it on my new ipad to delete hte icloud it keeps telling me its wrong.
Any way I can go around it or is there another process I need to do before the ipad starts recognizing hte new password I set for the old apple Id account?

It sounds like the new iPad, had a previous owner.    If you don't recognize the email for the Apple ID on your iPad, then it was registered to another person.
If it was, you can't use it and should return it.

  • I think my other account is hacked and the hacker changed the password and the security questions and i can't retrieve it , so does anyone know how to have a live (online) conversation with a senior or an apple employee responsible for such problems ?!

Please help me because it's not the first time the account has been hacked, every time i found out that it was hacked i changed the password, but this time it is not easy because he changed the alternative email-adress and the security questions.

Call the Apple support phone number for your country:

  • Ipad apple ID account is deactivated and don't know the password or security questions

I have had an ipad for 12 months, my husband created an icloud account on it ([email protected]) but since then we have never used the ipad to log into apple website, itunes etc.  Recently I purchased a MAC and iphone5 and after downloading the latest itunes to then sync all 3 together the ipad then asked for apple ID and password even though it had never asked for this before.  The trouble is the ipad apple ID is an icloud one, ie. an email account that belongs to Apple, so we cannot reset the password via email as we don't have access to the email, and one of the security questions answers comes up wrong all the time.  Because we have tried several times to remember the password the apple ID is now deactivated and the only way to re-activate it is via email verification (impossible) or security questions (impossible).  We tried connecting ipad to computer and restoring factory settings, but the ipad continues to ask for apple ID and password...help... customer service Apple in Spain has more or less told us if we can't remember the security questions or password and have no recovery email (which we don't) then basically the device is useless!!!! Urm, that ipad cost a lot of money to just "throw it away".  Any advice you can give me?

They have... but it is not what you wanted to hear. Unless you can use the Apple ID and Password that was used to Activate the Device you are out of luck.

  • I forgot my iCloud security question, also the email address I registed. How can I remove unconfirmed iCloud iD on my Ipad Air (iOS 7)?

When I first set up my grandpa new Ipad Air. I registed an iD-based his name like t•••••••••••@******but in reality such gmail did exsist and I do not know. I was confident that I remember the password so I can change the email later. But now, I forgot all the password, also the security question's answer. So, how can I remove the unconfirmed iCloud account on my device?
    <Edited by Host>

    Hi Noisyzbeez,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
You would need to know the password to the Apple ID set up on the device to remove it from the iCloud settings. The attached article has information on resetting the password via email or security questions. If you are unable to change the password after attempting these two ways, which it sounds like you are, there is also a link towards the bottom of the article to contact Apple Support.
If you forgot your Apple ID password
