First things, first: contact the company that issues your credit card to report fraudulent purchases and to ensure no other fraudulent purchases have been posted to your account. Next, change your account password immediately. Further, ensure your computer system or device operating system software updates are downloaded and installed; update the virus signature files and run your anti-virus software.

Can Google be hacked by Skype extn in Chrome?

Hi, I've been trying to get a response on various forums across the web without success. If this is a stupid question then I don't mind being told so.
About a week ago my Gmail reported unusual activity from an IP address not normally associated with it's use. Google reported this as being in Luxembourg (I reside in the UK) further investigation by me showed this as being used in Tallinin, Estonia. I took the usual precautions & changed my password immediately.
This is where Skype comes in. On the report that Google provide about activity on Gmail, normally the type of access (browser or e-mail client) was "unknown". The column that contained the Estonian IP address had an entry skype.net followed by the IP.
24 hours earlier I had downloaded the Skype client which in turn also installed the Chrome extension. I have disabled the extension & have not used the client for calling, other than to login to my account - I have also changed the password for my Skype account.
Is it possible that someone using their browser with the Skype extension could hack my Gmail account?

Skype account hacked. Skype agent very helpful

So my skype account got hacked today. I made a call to a landline number in Taiwan for about 40 minutes, but while I was calling, I got 5 notices about account automatic recharge (I did set my account up so the account gets recharged when credit is low). I then checked my account history, there was a bunch of mobile calls to a Taiwanese cell number that started today. Each call lasted 30 mins (costing ~2.5 euroes each call). These 5 charges also showed up as pending on my bank account.
I used Skype live chat, and the agent Angela A. was really helpful and cancelled the 5 credit charges (worth over $60) to my bank account even though these recharged credits had been used (by the hacker). I want to thank her here again for her help. I realize a lot of threads out there seem to tell a different story, that Skype isnt very helpful on refunding charges made on hacked accounts. Maybe my case is different, since the charges are actually still pending and not made yet. But just want to point out that there are good people in Skype who are willing to help out.

Someone hacked my skype account

Somehow, someone got my password for my Skype which was not given to anyone by me. I left for a couple hours, came back and I couldn't login. I tried every password, none of them worked. I tried to recover it through my email, but I couldn't login to my gmail account either. Somehow, someone has hacked my account and my gmail account so i cannot recover it. What should I do? I had important contacts that I can't get back because I don't remember their skype name.

I am being hacked on skype!?!?!

So when i log in it send this to my contacts.. "hey is this your skype profile pic? http://goo.gl/OgJ2h?image=lizity132" then the first time was.. "hey is this your skype profile pic? http://goo.gl/7nD0l?image=lizity132" and im kinda scared because my friends think i have malware or someone hacking my accounts from some other ip or something!

hey guys here is the fix for this
i dont think this removes the problem from your computer you probably need to run your virus scanner or your malware scanner to remove them from your computer
open skypego to tools
options
advanced
allow other programs access to skype(its in the bottom rightish of your screen)
now when you click that there should be 3 programs i dont remember the names but delete them all from that list
that will stop it from sending messages out to your contacts..like i said you probably need to run your virus and malware scans ater you this to make sure these programs are off your computer.....good luck!

I am hacked though Skype

I need experts openion.
Last day when I logged in skype Messenger, I get call immediat from one contact (Which I don't know actually, and I added 6, 7 month ago), I accept call in hurry, I said "Hello, Hello", but there was no reply, call disconnected after 28 second. Today I noticed my someone was trying to logged in into my facebook account, although I changed my facebook password yesterday, So I doubt There is some keylogger installed throught that skype call, or may be some thing else happened by that hacker. I am very concious about security, I never open email from unknown sender, or unknown link, so This is sure I never had made mistake before this. I have installed kaspersky internet security and enabled all security module of kasper.
My Question from Experts, That is it possible to write/send some data on any other PC through 28 second skype call?? or may be they just tracked my IP address and used some other software to install any keylogger. My Laptop is still infected, if I get any help to detect that keylogger, that will great.

I checked my Skype account this morning and noticed a call made from my account an hour before I was even awake to a user I've never heard of, certainly no one who is one of my contacts. When I went to change my password the Skype site would not let me. It permitted me to enter my current password, but then the "New Password" and "Confirm New Password" bars were frozen. Can anyone give me any information about this?

My Account hacked Through Skype desktop software i...

My Skype account got hacked today in desktop skype software itself. When I click on file menu then file menu disappered and similary all the menu disappered. My skype account credit stolen and some one called to country estonia . Please find the call details bellow. All these are unknown number to me.

moreover, I think the user interface should not be affected even if your account has been indeed hacked. Perhaps the problem with your Skype software is caused by something else.

Single person hacking multiple skype accounts

On a website that has a pretty well used marketplace the main contact method is skype. A person has been hacking skypes and using them to steal lots of money from people. I have no where near an exact number but I'd estimate it to be over $3,000 USD. There is obviously a security loop-hole that needs to be fixed but also how is this person allowed to get away with this? Account Hacked. Skype ignoring my support tickets.

About 6 or 7 weeks ago, my account was hacked. Besides using up all my credits on 2 monthly subsciptions the hacker didn't do anything else on my account; at least nothing that I can see. I've reported this to Skype using their suggested method and was told I would hear back within 72 hours, 3 days later I reported it again. So far I've reported this to Skype 9 times, I'm still waiting to hear back from them. The whole process to contact Skype is one of the most long winded and pointless endevours I've ever had the misfortune to enconter. After being directed from one link to another I'm finally directed to a microsoft support link which once I click on it I'm taken to a page that tells me the page I'm looking for no longer exists.After 4 weeks of waiting for Skype to reply I thought **bleep** this!' and tried to cancel my account. This turned out to be just as difficult as reporting the hack. I'm still waiting for Skype to get in contact with me. I'm posting this here as a warning to anyone who has had their account compromisd, don't bother trying to report it, as Skype's customer service doesn't exist. just remove your personal details from your account and stop using Skype, that's what I'm going to do.

Check your Spam folder. Responses from Skype when I contacted them about my account hijacking were going there. You've gotta wonder why that is, but anyway...

Hacker hacking into skype calls

Okay, this is becoming a serious problem. I'm just trying to have conversations with my friend and this guy has just been tormenting me and him. First this is what happens. My microphone audio will get distorted, and the mic volume lowers and highers and goes in and out. We then try over and over until the **bleep** thing finally works. Then this guy breaks in, starts mocking us, starts playing random sound boards or using his microphone and tormenting us. This happened about a month ago and the man had disappeared. Then, he came back. And he keeps tormenting us. We haven't noticed any suspicious activity on our skype accounts. My last thread had absolutely no replies or any help at all on how to fix the situation. It seems as if I'm the first person on skype to ever encounter this problem. I doubt I am. Please help me and tell me how to get rid of this dude. I changed my password last time this happened to 25 characters so this really shouldn't be happening again.

firstly, i think you both should fully update your antivirus and other similar software, then run a full antivirus scan, to detect and possibly remove any elements that the unwanted party may have been using. then another password change is also advisable after completing the scan.

Here is a list of steps to take:
Change your Skype account password immediately if you have not already done so.
If you have any saved payment methods in your Skype account, change that account password as well!
Change your e-mail account password.
Ensure all updates and patches are installed on your computer.
Run your preferred anti-virus/malware/spyware program using the most recently available virus signature files available.
I am sure your have notified your contacts of the fraudulent message ...
