Hacking xmonad into Gnome3... How? (The linux WM Heartbreak)

TL;DR:
I'm searching for information about modifying Gnome3.xx (config, compile or code level) to get XMonad window management while maintaining Paneling, Notifications area, etc. Any ideas?

Hi there!
Since approx Gnome 3.10 I was getting problematic integration of my WM of choice (XMonad). Having not enough time for deep dives in the past year I one day Decided to switch it up a bit and installed KDE in parallel to gnome. Which surprisingly worked and still works just fine. To be honest currently KDE and Gnome work exceptionally well for me on all machines (workstations, netbooks, even my heavily traveling MacBook Pro) KDE + XMonad is also very stable but not the KDE desktop doesn't really fulfill me. I still reminisce of the days where with one file configuration you could drop XMonad on your existing Gnome2 desktop and keep the useful stuff like panels and tray. Has anybody found ways of integrating third party window managers into Gnome3? How much of a hack would it need to be? I have heard that Gnome3's approach is to have Mutter somehow hardwired into the mix. Google didn't help me with valuable articles, only full replacement how tos etc. which is nice in itself but not exactly what I am looking for.
Does the arch community has experiences in this matter they would like to share?

Please change the thread title to indicate your question (e.g. "Alternative WMs in Gnome 3: How?"). This will attract the attention of those who can answer it. I also suggest that you just skip directly to the question. The anecdote does not contribute any relevant information (I use Gnome, but I've tried KDE, both work "exceptionally well", so how do I change the WM in Gnome?) and it reads like a blog which will deter some readers.
It really isn't clear what you mean by "valuable articles" either. You are asking if anyone has found ways of integrating third-party WMs, but then you dismiss articles that tell you exactly how to do that.

How do I change the Linux based LMS 4.2 root password? I tried "passwd" and "passwd root" while in shell mode and it said "passwd: all authenticaiton tokens updated successfully." However it makes me use the old password to get into the shell.

Did you saved the config after updating the password ?
try this command " copy run start" after changing the password.

If you first select the calendar on the left, so that its background is highlighted blue/grey, when you make a new events they should be added to that calendar.

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.

What that button does is sync your tabs between your devices. So if you have multiple macs with Mountain Lion and/or devices with iOS 6 (once it comes out this fall) you can pick up where you left off. For example, let's say I have apple.com, nytimes.com, and facebook.com open on my mac, but I need to run. Later, if I need to use another computer in my household, I can just restore the tabs that I was using before on this other mac.

I'm not sure I understand the question, is the message tone going more then once?
Turn off repeat message alert here:
settings > notifications > messages > repeat alert > never
Some people have found this does not stop the repeat miessage tone,
if you are one of those then I suggest you contact Apple:

If I understand you correctly, when you enter a date in the Adjust Date and Time window, the picture does not update with the date you enter. If that is the case then something is wrong with iPhoto or your perhaps your library.
How large a date change are you putting in? iPhoto currently has an issue with date changes beyond about 60 years at a time. If the difference between the current date on the image and the date you are entering is beyond that range that may explain why this is not working.
If that is not the case:
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: to get to the "home > library" hold down option on the keyboard and click on "Go" > "Library" while in the Finder.

Unfortunately, in your case, there isn't really a way to separate them as far as I can think.
You could try restoring from a backup, and choosing an older backup perhaps

I have just started to use Muse for our design agency and learning how to build ourselves a new site, I have managed to create a basic lightbox which contains sliding images, what I need to do now is have a pop up window which goes into detail about the projects, what I would like is a piece of text or icon that when you roll over it and then click a separate window pops up with additional information in, once finished reading the info you can then click to close the box, any advice on how to do this?

The best way to do what you're asking is with the Composition widget. Start with the Tooltip preset, which, by default shows the info on rollover. You can change the option to show on click, which is what you're after. You can also add the close button or have the info disappear on rollout.

You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone. This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab. Whatever is selected will be on your iphone. Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync.
