Had a ipod running with my itunes, lost ipod. new one wont connect to itune
I had anice new ipod, installed on comp with itunes. I lost said ipod. Bought another one and i have some problems with it. I thought i would restore it and wipe it clean, when i bring up the relevant window in my ipod folder, it says that this new ipod cannot be read by the ipos software. Is this because it has a different number? Is there any way i can get my comp, itunes etc to accept this new ipod? HELP
Your music will ONLY be where you put it.
If for some reason you failed to keep on your computer, not good, tehn you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I have set up 3 ipod today and now the 4th one wont connect to itunes, but will charge from a power point
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Try another cable. I dubt it will help but do it since you have more cables
- Try another USB port
- Try on another cable. Again I doubt it will do anything
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I had to return my first IPad2, and now the new one won't connect to iTunes. I verified I had the latest version, used the new cable and verified the port worked by syncing with my iPod, I reloaded 10.2.2 and restarted my PC. Still won't work - thoughts?
Sorry - found a couple of good threads right after posting.

it backs up every time you connect? correct?
Not if automatic syncing on connection is disabled in iTunes preferences. Then the phone backs up only when manually syncing or manual backup. Check this pref setting:
iTunes Prefs > Devices > Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically. It that is selected, you have to manually sync or backup.
In that section you should see a list of all iPhone backup stored by device. What is the latest one showing? -
IPod classic randomly restored on its own and now wont connect to itunes..
Hey guys
So last week i sync'd my iPod Classic 80gb and everything worked fine.
I've been away for the week and have used my iPod in a couple of different speakers/car transmitters/playstation etc and they have all worked fine.
Then when I got home today, the ipod says 'connected' but doesnt come up in itunes.
However, it does come up in my computer as 'steff's ipod' and shows that there is space being used on the ipod, even though it comes up as blank when i use it.
After I unplugged this it froze and once i got it back unfrozen, everything appears to be gone.
Now whenever i plug it in nothing comes up in itunes even though it says 'connected' however when i unplug it, an error then comes up in itunes saying it cannot sync with the ipod.
The first time i plugged it in it did come up with an error saying it was corrupt.
I've tried installing windows 7 updates, and uninstalling and reinstalling itunes but now itunes just freezees once the ipod is connected to the computer.
Now something similar happened to me a while ago and ended up killing my ipod, I had to go back to Apple and they offered me a refurbished one.
However that time it didnt restore on it's own, something just went wrong and it couldnt sync, but it started with the 'corrupt ipod' message so im thinking its something with my computer that's causing this (the guy at the Apple store did say that my PC caused the problem but i dont know how!)
Any assistance would be great, I don't really feel like spending another 200 dollars on a third ipod.
Thanks!update- now it will come up in itunes and says it detects an ipod in recovery mode and to restore it.
I do this and it says the ipod will reset and come back up in itunes when it is done, however it never comes back up and either itunes ends up freezing or the ipod does.
then after i reset the computer it goes around in circles and does all of this again -
help me
Hello SenaAkcicek,
If you want to restore data from a backup to your iPhone, you will need to restore the full backup, as you cannot select what items to be restored to an iPhone.

I recently lost my pc hard drive and had to buy a new one. I reinstalled iTune and now I am wondering if the sync will transfer all the tunes I have on my iPod to my pc. I am afraid to loose everything! What should I do?
Please search the forums. This has been covered here extensively.

I have 2 ipod touches. I backed up the new one with old's info. The old one will not unlock with the password I had wrote down and I tried my new ones password. How can I reset the old ipod without affecting the new one and how can I unlock the old one?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I have two children each with an ipod which has FaceTime - I have the iphone 4s with FaceTime. All of these devices are connected to itunes through the one account. How do I set up the FaceTime on the two ipods so as it doesn't ring both of them?
I started to do that then it said that this will become their apple I.D or similar and then I thought that will disconnect them from the same iTunes? I want them still on my iTunes as they are only young (8 and 10)? Or have I got this all wrong and even if I do set them up with a different e-mail will they still be on my itunes? For example if they want to purchase an App will it still go through my account even if they use their ipod?

i tried updating my ipod, and then it turned off, and then just said connect to itunes, and when i did, it said i had to restore it. so, i restored it, and it did nothing and still said connect to itunes. help?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

or
Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success.
If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...
