iTunes now gives you the option to install previous purchases on your devices. Sign in to your iTunes account on your computer and go to the iTunes store. Once there, click on the purchased link on the right side of the store screen. It will take you to a screen that shows all of your previous iTunes purchases. Music, TV shows, Movies... Download whatever you want on your new computer. If that isn't an option you want to try then plug you iPhone into your computer and open iTunes. When your phone shows up in iTunes, click on it. At the bottom of the screen you should be able to select the option to manually transfer music. Then select the music you want from your phone and copy it over to your computer. At this point if you aren't logged in to your iTunes account you will be asked to sign in to play the songs. Hope this helps.

Does the equipment all have a good ground to the utility or house
electrical field? An intermittent ground may affect more than sleep.
Hard to say at this point. Maybe a late-night talk radio guru on
remote viewing could peer into your situation and sleuth it out?
Sorry to have run out of ideas, but the process must be electrical
& mechanical to some extent. - Or perhaps odd software inspired.
Do you have any phone-home spyware items inside, just jumping
at the chance to spill your information? Little Snitch may help.
PS: Perhaps the computer needs to go into Apple & have a genius
or product specialist at AASP test the unit thoroughly... BlueTooth?

I need to transfer files applications etc from a Mac Book Pro to a Mac Book, but I want certain files/applicaitons to be available only to certain users. DO I transfer everything first then move it into different accounts or can I set up the different user accounts first & select what goes where when I migrate?

I had brought this Mac book pro 15 inch retinal display and windows 8.1 and then I left to India my home place for vacation now my problem is during flight transit at Paris CDG. For flight change. My luggage got lost and I had to leave for India. On reaching I waited for 6 days daily going to the Mumbai airport and enquiry but now I am stuck I can't work using windows software s for designing engg.

Then use Boot Camp Assistant. One of the Boot Camp Assistant menu items is download the Windows Support Software (drivers). Make sure you follow the Boot Camp instructions.
Or, Reinstall OSX using the online recovery.
Then install a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox. Then install Windows in the virtual machine.
You can use either Boot Camp or a virtual machine to install Windows. Neither method requires any driver cds. -

That would work, but there are distinct differences. Quite honestly, the MP is much more capable than the MBP for heavy duty work such as yours, but as you know, at the cost of portability.

You could partition the internal HD, but that would not protect against several things: if the HD died, both the main partition and the TM backup are gone; if the unit is lost/stolen/damaged, same thing. It's almost putting all your eggs in one basket.

No, the MP has more connections and bays and potential for expandability.

In MacTracker benchmarks, the i7 MBP benchmark is 5423, while the MP with two 2.4 Quads is 12942, so the MP is more than twice as fast.

Given the limitations stated above, 8GB of RAM should be sufficient.
Please point out any other pros or cons for either computer to help me make a decision.
You covered many of the salient points, but potential for expansion is a big one for some people, maybe someday adding a BR burner, adding multiple HDs, etc. I am not familiar with current MPs, but I suspect that given the huge speed advantage, it's going to handle the same tasks much, much faster without breaking a sweat, while the MBP is likely to run rather hot even while lagging far behind.
I think the big decision is speed and expansion vs portability. Good luck to you.

We have all our photobooks on our Mac. There are just two old ones that were made on an mac book pro and we want to transfer them to the mac so we have everything together.
How should we do this?Copy the iPhoto library that you used to create the photo books to your new mac.
Then double-click the library to open it in iPhoto (assuming you are using iPhoto '11). What is your iPhoto version and your MacOS X verserion?
Did you use an earlier iPhoto version to create the photo books on your old mac? Then the books may change when you open them in a newer version of iPhoto because the Book Themes changed between versions. In that case it would be better to keep the iPoto libraries on the old mac with the older iPhoto version, until you are sure that opening the iPhoto libraries in the current iPhoto on your mac will not change the layout. -
Whenever I insert an album into the disc drive of the Mac Book Pro (New, December 23rd 2012) it cannot find the artwork (comes up with unspecified error; 609). But until I installed the new version of iTunes it would download artwork. Why is this?
