I have an ipod shuffle. Never had one before. A friend synced my shuffle to her ipod. I want to add the songs to my computer and make cd's. Any way to do this?
Apple specifically did not enable ipod to computer transfer so as to prevent people from getting music from friends (which in the majority of cases is illegal).

hi i need help with my ipod nano i want to transfer my music from the ipod to the itunes so that i can be able to transfer the music to my ipad can you help me with that ?
You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like"iPod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your iTunes library, and then sync your iPad. -

If it's 2nd gen, are you using the USB cable that came with it, that has a mini-dock at the iPod end? -

i bought my husband an ipod nano. we already have the classic. should i put both on the same apple id or get a new id for hubby?
You can use the same account on both - I use the same account on my devices. Generally it's best to have just the one account, as all purchases from the store are tied to the account that buys it - so any iTunes music that you have/will buy will be tied to that account.

I updated my ipod and now it says my ipod can't be activated because activation server cannot be reached. How do I get it back on track?
Hello,
Try reseting your device.
Hold the power button and the home button down until the device shuts off, then power it back on and see if the problem is resolved.
I just refreshed your post, so if this does not help you, it is now at the top of the list for a short while, other people should be able to try and help you.

I purchased and downloaded CS6 for my MacBook Pro laptop from Adobe. I now want to add CS6 to an iMac, how do I go about installing it on this new computer?
Alibutlerdesigns you will use the same process to install on your second computer. You can copy the installation files using a USB drive if you do not wish to download the installation files again.

My daughter has an iPod Nano but just received an iPod Touch 5G but iTunes won't recognise the new device. What can we do?
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
or
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
You need iTunes 11.1 or later on the computer.

My new ipod nano does not sync the ipod name cannot be synced the required disk cannot be found

Wow .... so you are syncing via WiFi when you sync .... would that be correct?
I would still quit iTunes and then restart and see what happens. The iPad and iTunes must be playing some weird games.
If you do sync via WiFi (I do), I think you are better off closing iTunes when you are done - unless of course you are using iTunes for Home Sharing or something like that. My experience is that if you leave iTunes running, the iPad and iTunes just start sending weird signals back and forth.
Since I started Wifi syncing, I have seen messages in iTunes that made absolutely no sense at all. Anyway, that's my take on it. If you do not WiFi sync, then I have no clue why you are getting these messages. -
However during the process of adding new songs itunes crashed and i had to end task therefor not getting the chance to sync the new songs onto ipod nano. later when i plugged in my current ipod touch all my songs have disappeared and i cant find the original itunes library i had for it! is there anyway to get it back? i have tried pressing shift when opening itunes but still cant find the original itunes that i had!!
Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true. You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library. -
I'm borrowing a friend's iPod touch until I get another phone and I want to add some apps. I deleted all the apps that weren't needed and then I tried to add some of the apps that I need. I switched the Apple ID account on the iPod and the iCloud account to my own along with all the other apps (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, Skype, mail, YouTube, etc.) When i go to the Apple app store and try and update or download a new app it still asks for the old password. How do I get it so when I try and download new stuff it asks for MY password?
It is showing updates because your machine is tied to the original purchase and will remain so until you wipe the drive.
As you purchased it used and the seller obviously did not do what he was supposed to do and that is erase the hard drive and reinstall the original system, you will run in to far more difficult problems when you need to reinstall for whatever reason. The new licensing requirements are that any mac is sold with the original OS - any OS or app obtained at the app store is NOT transferable and the buyer needs to purchase their own license. That means you will not be able to reinstall the OS.
At some point, you will need to try to get either the original install disks (from the seller or Apple) and wipe your drive and reinstall. Then you can download your own licensed copy of Mavericks and any apps you want. -
Why does my ipod nano now need a 10.5.8 system.
I got my 4th generation ipod nano 2 years ago, and now it is not recognized on my mac 10.4.11, though it does charge up when connected. I followed all the steps in the troubleshooting manual on the apple site for this problem. I was told to get the latest update of itunes, but that update has system specifications that require 10.5.8 or later. Is Apple trying to force me to replace my perfectly fine 10.4 in order to use my ipod properly? How can I continue to use the ipod apple sold me?
The IPod does not appear on my desktop at all. I've tried both USB ports and 2 different cables. I tried resetting while connected and yes, I did try placing it in disk mode. It fails at step 5:
"5. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears."
The apple logo appears, but when I hold down the select button and the play/pause button, the disk mode screen does not appear. All that happens is that the ipod turns on. I've tried all the steps, including the flat surface and different hands. It just won't work.
