Had my 3g network for 2 months then it just went away

i bought an iphone 3g on july 12th and then two months later went to Pennsylvania. over the course of my stay i had no 3g network ( due to the fact that there was no cell phone tower) and when i came back to brooklyn i had no 3g. i still don't have 3g , i checked my network settings and i restored my iphone multiple times and i still dont have 3g , does anyone have any reason why?

Have you verified that 3G is turned on in Settings? Have you tried putting the phone in and out of airplane mode? Have you tried a reset (hold the sleep/wake & home button until the Apple logo appears)? Have you made an appointment at the Genius Bar? Gone to ATT for a new SIM?

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
You could also try reformat the Card with your camera

Welcome to the Apple community.
You might try to see if you can change your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go tomanage your account > Password and Security.
I'm able to do this, others say they need to input answers to their current security questions in order to make changes, I'm inclined to think its worth a try, you don't have anything to lose.
If that doesn't help you might try contacting Apple through Express Lane (select your country, navigate to iCloud help and enter the serial number of one of your devices)

You said you updated yur 1G iPod to 4.2.1. A 1G can only go to 3.1.3 and thus you must have jailbroken it to get to 4.2.1 and that can cause problems.

You can try the following:
Save your bookmarks.html in
%userprofile%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\
Delete the whole content of the profiles-directory
Then create a new profile and start FF again. Now you can import your bookmarks.

8500 909a is on my network for days then it disappears and reinstall is the only way back

I am hoping someone can help me. I am a computer reseller as well as the tech support provider to my customers. I have tried everything that my 20 years experience has taught me and I cannot figure this out.
OS - Windows 7 Professional - with Administrative rights both locally and network wide.
4GB Ram and ample hard drive space.
Latest 8500 drivers from the web (Full package) downloaded and installed.
Networked using Netgear VPN Prosafe with a Server (2008 Std Edition) and 3 workstations as well as the HP 8500 (909a). I AIO wired to my router, and I have a static IP assigned in the printer. I have also reserved the static IP in my DHCP server so that the number isn't accidently handed out. The printer will stay on the network for days sometimes weeks. For no apparent reason, it just disappears. The scanning doesn't find my computer and my computer doesn't see a printer any longer. It sees the other HP Laser I have on the network (never losing that one - ever).
I am very tired of uninstalling and reinstalling to get this printer back.
Hoping someone has an answer for me.

I assume this is WIn7 64-bit? If so, there are Firmware and Updates here that you should try.

Was playing game for months, when I turned ipad on tonite and went to continue playing, it started me as a new user. My old achievements are still in game, but can only view them as the game recognizes me as a new user. How can I retrieve my player info to continue where I left off in game?

Exactly, a full backup of the previous device would contain all the app workfiles that stored the current state of the game.

I am taking an online class and trying to download assignments from Blackboard. I have never had a problem before. It seems to download, but I can't open it. It doesn't give me an error message; it just goes away. Then after that, I get lots and lots of new tabs opening and I can't make it stop unless I turn the computer off. Blackboard is slow at supporting new versions of Firefox, and they never support Beta versions. Look under Supported Browsers for the version of Firefox that is supported for the version of Vista or Campus Edition your school uses. That information should be posted at the bottom of most Blackboard / WebCT pages.

Depending upon which version your school is using, you will have to use Firefox 3.0.x, 3.5.x, 3.6.x or maybe even Firefox 2.0.0.20 if your school hasn't updated their software in recent years, when accessing the Blackboard site.
My advice is to install the Firefox Portable version that you need for Blackboard on your computer, and use that installation only for Blackboard. Continue to use 3.6.x or 4.0 for all other web browsing. The Portable version won't affect the official version at all. <br />

Running fine for months, then last night no connec...

My connection has been running fine for around 6 months now, nothing changed.
At around 12am last night my connection suddenly dropped.
The lights on the modem where on, but the light on the hub went orange.
I turned off the hub and waited for it to connect, still nothing, orange then red light eventually.
I turned both the modem and hub off, waited for them to come on again, but still orange/red light on the hub and greens every where else.
I turned them off again and back on, this time the hub connected to the modem and I had all green lights, success I thought, wrong.
Still no Internet connection. I ended up turning the equipment off overnight.
Someone told me there where some planned engineering works on the network which are the cause of the outage.
Any confirmation? I'm on the Golders Green exchange / London.

Wednesday afternoon i noticed my player was acting weird. It was randomly fastforwarding, rewinding during play. It was like I was pressing the buttons but I wasn't, and lock mode was on.
Anyways, thursday night ( week after buying it) I go to start it up, and it says "rebuilding library." Then it says "firmware problem".
nothing worked, had to reformat the entire thing.

Do you have USB . or 2.0? . can transfer at about .5 megabytes a second while 2.0 can transfer at 60 megabytes per second. It sounds like you have . by how long it takes to transfer an average song. You can get a USB 2.0 PCI card for faster transfer if you absolutly need it. (By the way, the actual transfer speed of USB . and 2.0 is much less than the listed.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

This is designed to be done right away after a purchase of a new iPhone that is replacing another - not weeks or months afterwards.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Had this been done before choosing to transfer the backup for the old iPhone, the photos would not be lost.

You mean take the cover off of the iPhone, to look inside? I'd recommend against it. Even with warranty expired, you might qualify for an out-of-warranty service, which for 3GS is $149.
Other than that, any repair/service options are going to cost money. You might want to see if a wireless carrier will let you get a new contract & phone.
Out of curiousity, you're just using at as, basically, an iPod Touch, if there's no cell provider? Did I understand that correctly?
