Had my first "One to One"...Now find my old transfered files???

I just bought a new iMac 21 and had my first "ONE TO ONE" at the Apple store 35 miles from home. I am handicaped and can't walk, so futrue visits are possible, but it would be a lot easier to get answers here.
I have used a PC Window based since 1999. Last op system was XP for the last 6 years. I had Office 2007, using EXCEL and WORD and EMAIL, with over 1350 addresses. I bought MOBILE ME, and iWORK with this new system.
I have a Hobby automotive consulting businees related to vintage cars and have about 85GB of photos and all my OFFICE OUTLOOK and other files on my back up iOMEGA 500GB Hard Drive. I have many 'folders' for 'EACH' car with photos of the car and including WORD description of the vehicle .
We transfered these to the Hard Drive of my new iMAC 21.5. I can find them, but need to know how I can effectively access them for emaiing pictures and documents ?
Do I need to transfer all these pictures to iPhoto. I have done this on a couple of items as I needed to acess for emailing, but I lose the folder and have now 25 or so misc. photos that were organized now mixed in with others by date. I have started new picture folders, but wish that all my old work alrready established over the last ten years can be saved "as is"
And does all my EXCELL and WORD files need to be converted to KEYNOTE or PAGES?
Do I have to go back to a new appointment on "ONE TO ONE"? or can someone help me here?

Welcome to the Mac world. Lots of questions, which others can address, such as the photo stuff, which I don't do. However, for the Excel and Word items, yes you can convert them to Numbers and Pages or you can get MS Office 2008 and use that.

Can't find old transferred files from my iMac

When I was setting up my Mac Pro I chose to transfer my files from my old iMac by a firewire cable.
The problem is I can't find my files I created on my iMac with finder.
For the files where I do know it's location. I can see the files in finder and see them in quick view no problem, although I can't find those files through a finder search.

This happened to me when I got my new Mac and transferred stuff over about a year ago. Found this:

How can i change my apple id and password, i have 2 ipads, when i upgrade the 2nd ipad for the new iOS 5, i apparently synch, including the apple ID of the first one, now I need to change ID on the 2nd?

I created a new one but let say i go to apps store and install app, it will show dialog box with the 1st apple ID.

If these are both yours on the same account then give them different names so iTunes can tell them apart.
If the sync was an accident then do a "wipe" of the other iPad and set it up as new under a different ID and make sure iTunes knows it's a different accout, that is set it up as one, before you begin the sync.

TS3274 I have an iPad 1 and have not had any problems until recently and now find I am continually being kicked outnofcwebsites and have to go back into them, why?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

How to proceed after installer crashes? Will it find my old (moved) files?

The Leopard installer has crashed with a few minutes to go about 6 times now. It moved my old ststem data to new folders.
If I ask it to Archive and Install, will the installer be able to find and import my old Tiger info? That is, assuming I can eventually coax Leopard to install.
It installed on a backup drive for testing, but won;t install onmy main drive with all my emails, etc. <sigh>
So now I am trying to install ONLY the system software without any print drivers, X11 or languages. Maybe that will help it along and I can installthat other stuff later? I sure hope so.

When I clicked on the iWeb icon in applications my albums are there. I am assuming that it does not get erased when you drop your account because its on your hard drive (or something). So I still have all my original albums in iWeb applications on my computer but cant seem to publish them.
No idea what you mean by where is my original site! This is the way it works from me, a non tech person.
A few years ago I made albums on iWeb on my computer and published them.
Then, lets say two years after doing this I decided not to renew my account.
Then it became MobileMe somewhere along the line.
I renewed my account about 4 months ago and tried to find my iWeb site online (not on my computer where the albums still are) thinking that now that I renewed my iWeb (now MobileMe) would be activated again. Nope, that is too easy and simple.
So I tried to re-publish my already existing iWeb that is on my computer.
No go.
I dont know how else to explain this.

Can't find my old iPhoto files....?

I recently bought a new Mac laptop and transfered some files to it via data migration.
Now I just want to locate some old photos on my backup drive.
The dirve was connected to my old Mac, then I chose to transfer the backup drive to my new Mac laptop.
Now I cannot see/access the files from before I connected the new Mac.
Why is this? Aren't all and any of the files still on the backup drive?

I'll try and keep this short and concise.
I had a MacMini up until Friday. I sold it. I had my Seagate Backup Plus Drive connected to the MacMini until Friday. I bought the Seagate this past July because my other backup drive died. I backed up all of my files from the MacMini to the new Seagate drive after purchasing.
Now I am trying to access photos from long ago from the Seagate drive using Time Machine. When I enter TM I am only able to see files that go back to Friday. The other files that show from July are "ghost" and don't open.
When I attached the Seagate to my new laptop and clicked use as backup, I was prompted if I wanted to use the drive from the old computer to the new and that it would no longer be available to the old computer (not the exact wording, but to this effect). I clicked transfer and what I get is what I explained above.
I assumed that I would be able to access all my files and applications that were on the drive when it was connected to the MacMini, but this does not seem to be the case for some reason.
Did I not click the correct operation? How can I access the "ghost" information?
I hope this is explanation is clearer. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

p.s. I just did a full backup when I purchased the Seagate. No app, no dragging.

I just had my first kernel panic -- on my 3 week old MacBook. I just downloaded CoconutBattery last night. Do you think that could've caused this? To add insult to injury, I just called Apple, and Apple Care is already closed at 5:20 PST. Lame.

You don't transfer Apple ID's from one device to another one. You sign out in the settings, )the App Store and iTunes if necessary) and then sign in with the other ID.
Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID>Sign out. Them sign in with the other ID. You can sign out of the app store and iTunes as well by going to the featured Atab in the App Store and the music tab in iTunes, swipe to the bottom and access the Apple ID in there.
You should have erased the iOad before you gave it to her in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. That way she could set up the iPad as new with her own Apple ID.
Be aware of the fact that if you use each others ID's in order to download past purchased content to your own iPads, you will lock yourself out of your own ID as you will have associated your iPad with the other person's Apple ID.
In other words, if you sign into your wife's ID on your iPad so that you can download an app or an album so that you don't have to pay for it again, you will lock yourself out of your Apple ID for 90 days.

Anything you downloaded with the first Apple Id will forever be tied to it, and will always require it to update.
The question here is, why did you think you needed to create a new Apple ID? What was the problem with the first one?
To get rid of th old one, you'll need to delete everything you downloaded with it, and then sign out of the ID in several places around the iPad.
Go to Settings->iTunes & App Stores->Apple ID->Sign out.
Repeat the process, for Facetime, Messages, Mail and any other App you need to sign out of.

I upgraded to Mountain from Snow and find that there is now a problem adding iphoto to the cloud. I have iphoto '08,version 7.1.5. Tried to follow one poster's advice and upgrade to 9.1 but I need 9.0 first and I can't find that. suggestions? thanks!

You have to buy iPhoto from the Mac App Store.
