When I moved computers I literally dragged and dropped the music where I wanted it to be. THen when I opened iTunes I imported the files back into iTUnes
This creates a new library with all the same items but you lose a lot of info: Ratings, comments, date added, custom EQ, playlists, etc.
If you simply copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder, it is the exact same library, not a new library. No info is lost.

I have an older version of Adobe Digital Editions (around 3 years old) and was very happy with it.
Then I had problems with my Kobo Reader and asked a friend who works in IT to assist. She could not fix the Kobo but she messed up my Addobe. She downloaded version three and I have an account and a password - was not able to transfer my books from my reader to version three (and I don't like the lay-out - I would prefer to stay with the old version as I also loose all my download date info..)
But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.
can you please help me - going on vacation in three days and cannot go without books.Please authorize ADE 3 with same credentials that you used with older version of ADE

Have an issue regarding library books. My ereader is validated with Kobo account and Adobe Digital Editions account, but I get an error: 'this document is protected bij DRM and isn't available with your Adobe ID'.
same problem for me. I am using abe edition 3 as I don't think 4 can be used with kobo. Book has been downloaded to kobo but it can't be read as it is not authorised.Help please

Firefox doesn't have an "export" feature built into it for password data.
Exactly what did you do to "export" your passwords?

If you copied the two files that are used for storing passwords from the old computer to back them up, just copy those 2 files into the Profile folder on the new computer to restore them.

How do I open a acsm file with the newest version of Adobe Digital Editions
I purchased an ebook that was delivered in the the Adobe .acsm format. When I downloaded it, I specified that the Adobe Digital Editions as the app to open the file. ADE launched, loaded my old books but the new book was not loaded. I also tried to load the book from the ADE, but the book shows up as a grayed out item that I cannot select. I am running the book reader on a Mac running OS X 10.5.8 and have downloaded the lastest version of the ADE. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Thanks, Yvonne
I'm having the same problem. I have the latest Adobe Reader version, have Mac OS X 10.6.4, and I cannot open any .acsm file-old or new. I've also tried to load the book from the ADE, but the book shows up as a grayed out item that I cannot select. I've tried everything, but to no avail. I don't have any solutions, but wanted to let you know you're not alone in this problem.

Connect Kindle.
Once it shows up inside ADE
Click and drag on of your ebooks from the library then drop it over the KINDLE icon.

When I try to download a book from Kobo, I get this error message: Error geting licence. Licence server getting communication problem. E_LIC_ALREADY _FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER.
