Had to change Apple ID  when updating to IOS 5; all my apps are still associated with old ID

I was forced to change my Apple ID to an email address when updating to IOS 5; now I have lots of problems because all my apps are associated with my old ID (for some reason they did not update to the new ID name).  How do I fix this?

You should always have your apps on your computer.  If you have failed to keep a copy of the old app versions, then you cannot get them back at all.
    Sorry.
Many app makers no longer support the old ios and ipod models

  • Hi, I update the iOS and now some app are in other language

hi, I update the iOS and now some app are in other language

Did you change your credit card in itunes under your account to one from another country. That sometimes will change the language on your apps try This   "Click on your email address in the top right of iTunes to get to your account details, then click the "change" button next to your "Country/Region". Select a country for which you have (access to) a credit card. iTunes will ask you for credit card information when you save this country setting.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • HT201342 So when is Apple going to allow us to merge emails? All my apps are STILL under my gmail address!!!!

I still have the irritating two emails that I have to sync my apps to -- my original gmail account and now an iCloud account. This stinks.

When apple first brought the cloud to market most individuals ended up with TWO apple ids. The .me one that they needed (or thought they did) to set up their original account and whatever one they had had for years buying music in the iTunes store (in my case, it's a gmail account). Many of us still have those two IDs and Apple has never allowed us, that I am aware of, to merge the emails. Most of my music and apps are on my iphone with my gmail account and I sync that one through the iMac. After I do that, I have to go to my phone and sync it with the .me (now .cloud) account to get those few apps I have under that email account. It's ridiculous! In my husband's case he originally had a problem with dupes in his calendar and had to have that fixed through the genius's at the Apple store. The geniuses agreed it was a shame but said they were unaware of any plans for us to be able to merge accounts. • IOS 5 Update on iPhone 4 - All Purchased Apps are GONE!

    Hi there,
I recently updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and upon updating all my apps downloaded and purchased were no longer on my iPhone. I then went to my iTunes account to reload all my purchased apps and they were no longer listed under my accounts previous purchases. Has anyone had this issue happen- what can I do? I've lost probably 50$ worth of apps now and I am somewhat dissapointed with that!
    Help?
    Chris

Likely you have to Apple ID's and the one your iPhone is logged in with is differtn than the iTunes account where your apps and content are located.

  • How do I get my old Apple ID offf my phone?   The iTunes and Apps are looking for my old ID which have been replaced but iPad and iPhone software seems to go back to the original password.

How do I get my old Apple ID removed from my iPhone?

    You created a new AppleID?
Why not simply update your old AppleID so you have only one iTunes account?

  • HT4528 i update to IOS 7, but my apps are stuck in the app store, how do i tranfer to my screen?

    hello
i uudated to IOS7, my apps are stuck in the app store, how do i tranfer my apps to the screen

    Try this:
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • HT204053 I originally had an Apple ID when I got my iPad.  This is the one associated with the app store; however, I now have two.  The second one comes up when I try to log into the app store and it will not log me in.  How do I get the original one to s

I'm beginning to feel totally frustrated and functionally illiterate. I've been trying to log into the app store.  The apple Id that shows is not the original one I set up when I got my iPad.  When I enter the password for the Id that shows, I get the message that I cannot log in.  Is there a way for me to change which id shows up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open the App Store app, go to the Featured pane, swipe to the bottom, tap the Apple ID and sign out. Tap again and sign in with the Apple ID of your choosing.

Check with the software vendor for an update to that program. If they don't have one yet then complain to them and continue to use your older system until there is an Update for it.

  • Updated to 4.0 -- All downloaded apps are gone

I did the backup process, upgraded, didn't unplug until it was done and now every app I downloaded is gone. Any suggestions?

Since you have a backup you can try putting your phone in recovery mode then plugging it back in and restoring your data from the backup.

  • I cannot change apple id when the app store asks me to update anything

i cannot change apple id when the app store asks me to update anything

App Store products can only be updated by signing in to the store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to download them. You can't update anything, including your own purchases, as long as there are pending updates linked to the other ID.
If you can't sign in with the other ID, you have to delete all the apps that are linked to it. If you don't know which apps those are, see below.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
    4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Delete each such item by following the instructions in the Apple Support article linked above.
    5. Quit and relaunch the App Store.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Apple id Usename I've changed my Appleid username online but when updating an iphone app it still uses my old username

I've changed my online username, but when I update an app, the appleid sign is using my old username.

Because those apps are tied to your old apple id, since you purchase it with that id.

The first thing you should do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. I suggest you install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. If you don't have the media, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able toauthorize it under your ID. In that case, contact iTunes Support.
