Had to re-install Windows XP; photoshop 7 disk is unreadable. Can it be downloaded?

I have had to re-install my mother's windows XP system.
We found that the photoshop 7 disk is unreadable. Yes, it's 10 years old, but she really doesn't do well with change.
We still have the serial number. I looked around for an official download, but could not find anything for something that old.
If there is a way to download it, we can activate it with our serial number. Is this at all possible?
Michael

I seem to have no luck in actually finding it. Searching gave me plenty of places that seemed to have cs 7 -- somehow I thought cs 6 was the latest -- and the rest I found were either the 7.0.1 update, or ad/spy ware, or unsigned/modified.
I understand you can't actually say where, but can you at least tell me how to find it? Yes, I'm that clueless on this.

    There are several possibilities.
    1. You do not have contiguous free disk space.
    2. BCA has failed, or you may have a Fusion drive which is causing problems.
    3. You have incorrect permissions on the disk.

I own a copy of lightroom 5 (a download copy) and have had to install a new hard disk. I can't remember how I got the current copy but I think I may have downloaded a monthly rental copy because the program is asking me to pay a subscription fee.  I was expecting to get a message to install my serial numbers.

You downloaded the trial version for the creative cloud. It doesn't work with a serial number. It is licensed differently. You will have to uninstall it and then download and install from here:

  • Satellite A200-137 - Can not install windows after hard disk crash

last week my a200-137 crashed and now i have new hitachi 500 gb hdd on it, same as before the crash.
I install with Toshiba recovery DVD windows Vista on it and after succesfull install i have to start windows, it says preparing windows for first use then i have to wait a moment and then i get the message that windows installation is not completed. But it is complete!
After trying for 3 times installing with recovert I tried to install windows xp.
After a couple of minutes and transering files, I get the message no disk found! It says that there is no hard disk on the laptop!
But when I start up the boot menu or the setup menu I can see the 500 gb Hitachi hard disk!
So why can windows not find the hard disk and why can I not start windowds visat after installing with the recovery dvd?

    > So why can windows not find the hard disk and why can I not start windowds visat after installing with the recovery dvd?
On this virtual way it is not easy to say why you cannot install recovery image. It would be interesting to know if the same will happen when you replace HDD with the same or identical one.
Which capacity has had original HDD?
If possible try to obtain original Microsoft installation disc and check if HDD will be recognized by Vista or Win7 and of course if you will be able to install and start preinstalled OS.
About WXP installation: it is well known that WXP installation will not starts properly due to missing SATA driver that must be loaded before WXP installation starts.
Check this forum and you will find hundreds of threads with detailed explanation why this happen and what can you do about it.

  • Installing Windows with system disk from Viao?

I already had my doubts about this but wanted to confirm:
You cannot install windows with the system disk from a Viao, Dell,
Hewlett Packard, etc...??? You must have the plain Windows disks, correct?

    Hi,
since most of the Windows Discs that are bundled with a PC are not full versions, but merely 'restore' discs, they simply won't work.
Apart from that these Windows Licenses are tied to the computer with which they were bought, so that from the legal point you are not able to 'Activate' them again.
    Sorry

  • Replaced Hp with new hard drive but now i cannot install windows 7 recovery disks

Ok, so my laptop is a hp pavilion dv4-2165dx that has a broken screen and sometime after best buy tried to fix it the hard disk blew. I bought a new hard disk and put it in the computer and i got the official recovery and installation disks for windows 7. The hard drive is recognized by the computer and does start the recovery manager but it gets to 1% and does not go further. I let it run all night and the next morning it said that the cd failed. Did it fail because i have to connect an hdmi cord to my lg tv to see anything? Or was it because of something else?
I researched and found that with a new hard drive i will have to partition it and then format it to work with windows 7.
My question is, if the computer doesnt boot or let me use windows how can i partition and format the new hard disk? I have an older hp laptop as well that works efficiently in regard to its age (7) yrs. i wonder if i can buy a usb to sata/ide cord and attach the new disk to my old laptop and partition/format it there? Idk

Hello CaptianNike, welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you're trying to install Windows 7 on a replacement hard drive. I will try to assist you with this.
You definitely could use another computer to format and partition the drive. I'm not certain about the cables you've mentioned though (looked with goolgle and you can get usb to sata cables). If the computer is a desktop you should be able to connect it internally to just do the format/partition.
If the recovery disks worked correctly, then you should have the option to do the format and partition via Windows. This could be an indication as well that there's an issue with the disks.
Which leaves you with the option of obtaining another set of disks to try, or trying to partition first then installing. The easier would be the latter.
    I hope this helps.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

    Hi,
Given the fact that you're receiving a Smart error ( 301 ) for the hard drive, this is almost certainly why you are running into issue when try to reinstall Windows 7 and to correct this, the drive will need to be replaced.
This is a fairly straight forward procedure as detailed below.
Your notebook is listed as coming with a 320Gb HDD, however the drive on the link below is an example of one that would be fine for your notebook and offers a bit more storage.
    500Gb Hard Drive
The procedure to replace the Hard Drive starts on Page 53 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
Once done, just install Windows 7 on the new drive.
Any drivers you require can be found on the following link.

  • Installing Windows without Leopard Disk

Just wondering if there was any way I could install windows without the leopard disk. I'm at work right now and was hoping to install windows vista but my leopard disk is at home.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
If you have a copy of Windows Vista with you, you can use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition and install Vista on it. The only point is you cannot install the necessary drivers at this time since you do not have the Leopard DVD.

  • Installed Windows 7 64 bit in Error - Can I replace with 32 bit Version?

Hello, last night I installed Windows 7 via bootcamp on my 20" iMac. All went well until I tried to install the Boot Camp support software and had a message saying that Boot Camp 64 bit is not supported on this machine. I did think for a while that I was stuck in my new Windows partition without a way of getting back to OSX as I hadn't been able to install the Boot Camp software but luckily this morning when holding the relevant key on the keyboard during start up I had the option of selecting my mac HD (phew!).
My question is what is the best workaround for this? Can I boot in to the Windows partition and install the 32 bit version over the 64 bit version or should I delete my new partition and start again from scratch? The 64 bit version didn't seem completely stable (there was no sound and the screen resolution didn't seem quite right) but I did have a multitude of updates waiting to install. Thanks for any help.

Boot from 32-bit version and do a clean install.
You can even begin while in Windows.
But before you do that, copy the contents of your OS X DVD's Boot Camp to a folder.
    Find the file BOOTCAMP64.msi
Run as administrator and use "troubleshoot compatibility mode" via control + click.
    Then that should run.
At least give it a try. I was/am in same boat (unsupported, does not support 64-bit version) like MANY others. And it does work. Otherwise I would be stuck with only using 1.9GB RAM and other limitations.

  • I made the mistake of installing windows on my MacBook air and can't open in lion, anyone know how to get lion back and remove windows?

I recently installed windows 7 onto my MacBook air- big mistake, I cannot work out how to get back to OSX Lion and get rid of windows for good, anybody help?

    Boot Using OPTION key:
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "OPTION" key.
Release the key when the boot manager appears.
Select the Lion disk icon from which you want to boot.
Click on the arrow button below the icon.
Once you return to Lion open Startup Disk preferences and select your Lion volume for the startup disk.

  • My MacBook cannot install windows from an ISO image, what can i do?

As soon as I open boot camp and i click continue, i have only two checkboxes, while everyone (owning a macbook pro I guess) has the  "create a windows 7 or later install disk" checkbox. Eventually, after downloading drivers on my USB pen, boot camp says he cannot find any installation disk (I don't know the exact sentence in english since I'm using OS X in italian.)
    Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The option to create a Windows USB installer is only available for Macs without optical drive (MacBooks Air, 2012 and newer Mac minis, Late 2012 and newer iMacs, the latest Mac Pro and all MacBooks Pro with Retina display). This means that you need to burn the ISO file on a DVD in order to be able to install Windows. You can do so with Disk Utility.
